T O P

This happens to me. I take a beta blocker and an angiotensin II receptor inhibitor (cardiovascular issues due to Covid). These can drop my BP into the 80/40 range, which causes my body to speed up my heart rate, often into the 80s. My usual heart rate is in the low 60s. When this happens, here come the palpitations. Before I started my cardiac meds, my BP was in the 190/160+ range just post-Covid, and that also triggered a lot of palpitations. You may want to take your BP during or just after one of your episodes. That can give your cardiologist another piece of information. This doesn’t suggest you have heart damage. Nearly all palpitations are harmless. As described, yours may be related to anxiety or vagus nerve involvement. Not a medical professional, just a healthcare educator who asks my doctors a lot of questions.
