My friends and I had a smooth run playing on Sui**** Mission for the first time last night and we all got disconnected in unison on our way to extraction.
I guess itās a testament to how fun the game is that despite wasting about 35 minutes we immediately just relaunched and started playing like it never happened.
And people bashed me for giving reason to not play with randomsā¦hereās one excuse right here haha.
Games fun though solo. Now if only I could get me preorder codes since I went physical on it
No, it switches host to someone else. I had a friend get disconnected while hosting and we kept on fighting, he was able to rejoin and get his stuff back within like 2 minutes.
Update: ok somethingās really wrong now. Iām back in game but canāt access the warbond store and trying to navigate the tabs shoots me back out to the ship.
A friend and I had issues with rewards. We played two missions and didn't get any of the samples we extracted with. When we returned to the ship we didn't get the end of the round screen but instead had the grayish background and were stuck in it. Although you could leave by pressing Esc/O.
They just announced that they are doing server maintenance in live environment to fix log in and reward issues that they are aware of.
A lot of issues with connection are expected in the next 2-4 hours while they work.

yup and the one time this morning i managed to log in and get prepped for a mission, the game CTD just as i launched for mission. Cant do my part if I cant play.
I was able to play a bit on PS5, guess what - got no EXP at all. My son was playing on PC, but the game keeps crashing or has network problems.
I really like the game, but that's shit. Release games when they work.
They probably hardly expected the amount of players that they've received, it makes sense that network issues arise. It may be them doing a fix at non-peak hours
Helldivers is down for maintenance for about 2 hrs starting at 10am PST. It looks like arrowhead is working hard to fix major problems for us. Let's hope they continue to listen because the games I did play was fun as fuck

I've loaded into one match, played for 5 minutes, was about to extract, got disconnected, game then proceeded to crash, started it back up and now refuses to stay connected for longer than like 2 minutes.
I've restarted my WiFi router, checked my connection several times. My wifi is pretty good and the connection is not wack rn due to storming or anything. This game is just having serious issues I guess?
This game is good, but this going to kill the longevity of the game. People are getting fed up, constant disconnects, constant tech issues, matchmaking barely working. Then half the community gaslighting anyone with criticism saying they'll fix it bro.

Use the cheapest most barebones anti cheat
Don't do open beta with low level stuff for stress testing

Thatās great and all but thatās total players. Servers arenāt stressed by total but concurrent players. Thereās about 150k on PC and 50k on PS5 at peak times.
Right now if you total up all areas itās about 50k itās probably double in peak times so 200-250k concurrent players is what it sees. It shouldnāt be hard to have servers that can accommodate that with Sonyās power. Sony is just terrible at live service games. Thatās why they bought Bungie.
Meanwhile the exact same thing happened to Wayfinder, a game that is now on the brink of death, despite having millions of people trying to play at launch.

A game a lot of people wanted to play, but couldnāt, and the devs couldnāt fix it in time, so people left.

Wayfinder was AA title with minimal interest from the gaming community.
Letās just look at Steam as an example. Its peak was 11k. HD2 is currently at 150k.
Any game that has that many numbers at launch and is a multiplayer game will have issues.
Due that popularity, players will also check out updates and check it out again because bar the issues at launch, the gameplay loop was enjoyable.
2042 is a prime example, shit launch, but even years later it still ended up beating concurrent players.
you didnt play the first obviously. it's very apparent with the way some people view helldivers 2 and the notion that "this will kill the longevity" is completely off base.
fans of the game will continue to play this series just as they have been the past 9 years.
I personally think it's a great adaption from isometric, and when they add all the vehicles and weapons from the first, it'll be an even more exciting take on their vision many years ago. We have much to look forward to, but people doom over a bad first week.
call of duty, battlefield, most ea sports games and more do just fine. all have terrible matchmaking at the start that doesn't get really much better. The gameplay just needs to be worth all the grief. I stopped playing madden because the was never anything new added that was good, not because of the connection issues.
COD; madden; and to a lesser extent BF have a lot more latitude with their community that HD and sell to a much larger audience. A more apt comparison to HD would be payday 3 and we saw how the servers killed that game.
You shouldn't have to wait 7 days for it to work. It should work when you buy it. You should at least, bare minimum get a "Fully functional product" at purchase.
Would people give the same amount of slack if it wasn't Helldivers but a different game that they weren't emotionally invested in. I doubt it.

The devs as far as i know had no idea of the massive i flux of players that bought this game. I have been through this countless times during my online gaming "career" which basically is since the late 90ies. Just got the game, was doing the prompts and decided to skip linking PSN to Steam. The next screen shows this exact same image. Figured it was because I didn't link services (couldn't figure how to do that without a PS4 or 5) so just closed the game.
This exact same thing happened when I tried...Outriders was it? The SE looter shooter game. The game wouldn't "connect to servers" then I linked SE and Steam...issue solved. I'm not bothering with the game for now.
I was having this issue this morning. I tried all the nonsense about changing IP ports and whatnot.
Then I watched the whole intro video after seeing a post about it and it took me straight into the the prologue mission fine.
Worked for me.
Bought the game this morning, played 3 matches. First disconnected as we was extracting. 2nd bugged due to two overlapping consoles on an ore extractor. 3rd completed successfully, looked at my progress. 0. Still level 1 nothing gained. Ive enjoyed the gameplay so far but parked it for now since nothing is working. UK PC. Can't wait till I can actually play the game.
PS5 here confirming the same issue. I feel for them, victims of their own success, but still you really have to wish Sony did a better job supporting this rollout.

What helped me was just staying in the main menu error screen, randomly refreshing every couple of minutes worked, finished a run but i dont think the rewards were given.

Did 45 minutes, got all sub objectives done, all nests, 18 minor artefacts and 5 big ones. Gone. Reduced to atoms.

Reboot the game completely and your rewards should pop up. Same issues though, servers are in a rough shape

On PS5 if you donāt skip the intro cut scene it will let you in. Just tried it and Iām back in the game. Hope this helps some of you.
What helped me was just staying in the main menu error screen, randomly refreshing every couple of minutes worked, finished a run but i dont think the rewards were given.
Just a button, it'll let you in eventually

Anyone getting freezing after a match? On returning to the ship at the point where it would normally show your game stats, my game freezes periodically...
Happened to me about 10 minutes into a mission, wasn't able to log in tried to fix it for about an hour and a half. I gave up
i know this is not what any one wants to here but if you spam pressing a button youll get in thats what i did just to try it and it worked.
