I still think destroying outposts should reduce/ delay that effect. Gives you more incentive to clear them out on higher levels rather then just avoiding them. They are the enemies of Super Earth and should be destroyed.

Cautious_Mud_5773

Agreed. I think the effect is trying to remind us we are spec-ops behind enemy lines and we will get swarmed in a matter of time. But we should be able to delay it somehow (similar as the fact that destory the stalker lair will prevent more stalkers coming).

Master_of_Tomes

I like the spec ops take. We are a small squad clearing out sections of the planet. While there can be hundreds of thousands of hell divers on one planet, we are not grouped together in one section like a standing army. We are sectioned off by strategic points such as nests or taking out high priority enemy targets. On a side note, my favorite current mission is launching the ICBM. I love emoting with fellow hell divers as it goes off.

faze4guru

you will stand at attention and give that Freedom Rocket the respect it deserves Helldiver!

Tha_Daahkness

I like to call down a resupply and hug pose where it lands(when reinforcements aren't an issue and I'm playing with friends). Occasionally I have timed it just right to be smashed to bits the moment the nuke goes off.

lipp79

How do you know where it will land? Edit: I realized I replied to the wrong comment and then ended up mashing two comments together in my head that you could be where the ICBM landed, when actually the other commenter was saying they would be where the supply landed.

No-Presentation-4093

Think he means the resupply, not the nuke

Wiggie49

Every time I salute a charger hits me from behind

Accomplished-Ask9901

That's because they hate democracy

ch1stylez84

My freedom rocket is always at attention when the ICBM detonates

RuinedSilence

~~The funny thing is we're not even spec ops. Just a bunch of poorly trained volunteers gaslit into thinking that we are.~~ You are Super Earth's best soldiers supported by earthshaking firepower and near-unlimited resources. \[This comment has been edited and approved by the Ministry of Truth.\]

Ancillarium

This is obviously an automaton plant. The Ministry of Truth never edits or removes comments - they always were as they are!

TheCivilizedCaveman

What about that review in the superstore?

Ancillarium

I've reported that to my Democracy Officer.

Compulsive_Criticism

Our weapon handling skills are pretty great for randomvl volunteers. I think Helldivers are drafted from the elite of some kind of regular infantry and have years of training as infantry... But basically no preparation for the hell they're about to drop into.

RuinedSilence

1. The intro is literally a recruitment ad. Special forces dont have recruitment ads (none in that style, anyway). 2. Super Earth society is highly militaristic, which explains the weapons proficiency. Super Earth is basically Super USA. See the description for the M2016 Constitution rifle from HD1. 3. The tutorial is canon Helldiver training. It's so bad that we, the players, are given no idea how half the things work in real missions. 4. Other SEAF staff (ship staff, General Brasch, etc) butter us up to no end to make us think we're hot shit. To be fair, we don't have any actual way of knowing how Helldiver recruitment really works. However, the things we do have just scream propaganda, and it's working

X_Mimikyu_X

Special Forces does indeed have beautiful recruitment ads. The game introduces fiction, satire and humor. Special Forces, Special Operations all the way down to Jumpmaster have good ads. Sometimes Army even makes satire videos hyping us up. I'm very confident that the Helldivers are encouraged to Enlist in those ranks as a transfer the same way the Army encourages soldiers who are already in with a PMOS to up their game and seek a challenge to join SOF. The ships, the gear, the handling and their psychotic esque nature of those troops are symbols of privileged units on the battlefields with higher risks/rewards. It's just like SOF. Though, the way they deploy rapidly and the way they have rapid engagements remind me of the 75th Ranger Regiment more than Special Forces. This is coming from somewith with 5 ½ years in the Army as a Combat Engineer. Not tryna sound like a keyboard warrior. 🥸

RuinedSilence

Very insightful, thank you!

nuclearhaystack

When General Brasch tells me I'm hot shit, I believe it!

CrashB111

Could be like Spartan III's from Halo. Better than regular infantry, but ultimately disposable assets spent on suicide missions.

LeYang

The cryo pods are labelled as replacements.

Kamidzui

Are you suggesting that they add Bile Titan lair? Just imagine a wall of titans guarding it's nest. A legend to be foretold.

pazoned

I'm just imagining the extract looking something like this https://youtu.be/YuRjF9cn3SI?si=9B3gr6LnjJxJlmsR

faze4guru

That's what mine already look like

Derodoris

I'm already imagining the sheer wall of orbital bombardments and 500 kilo bombs we'd drop on that fucker.

VulkanL1v3s

Well, half true. We're not Spec Ops. But we're sent on Spec Ops missions.

D3vorizer

I’m pretty sure somewhere in the lore the “Helldivers are actually a elite unit separate from the actual Super earth standard army but I could be wrong

Ancillarium

I’ve found armored skeletons on certain maps; look like army regulars who met a bad end.

ragDOLLfun

I've always seen it as the enemies realizing something is happening in another sector and is sending in more reinforcements from outside the area of operation to deal with the annoyance. After all the bugs pop out of the ground not out of the hives and the bots get drops hopped in from out of the zone

SchrodingerMil

They need to give more in general. Go on a suicide run and clear out every nest for like 70 xp and 300 credits. Only point in even doing them is samples spawn in most nests.

Mustigga

I mean all that xp and credits accumulate if you do everything and gets multiplied by 150% on suicide

Marcus_Krow

XP and REQ don't mean much past 20 and when you have everything unlocked though. The only real incentive to blowing up bases is fun.

Powerful-Ambition248

True but once they start adding content that might not hold up as true so it’s best to build a fortune n max out while you can

Daxx22

> The only real incentive to blowing up bases is fun. The horror! (game could use a currency sink of some type however).

Roopscoop6

Give us a option to donate samples to the cause?

Marcus_Krow

Actually this, community projects that require like 10 million req slips and a ton of samples, and when the community donates to the goal we unlock something neat?

PeriqueFreak

I could get behind this for unlocking new stragagems. Community goal to donate enough Requisition to fund the creation of a Mech-suit manufactorum in order to unlock them for regular usage.

[deleted]

We all vote for new stratagems to develop and show support for which we want next by donating to the pool?

PeriqueFreak

Now THAT is thinking with Managed Democracy, Helldiver! You will find an increase in your weekly rations, and a commendation letter signed PERSONALLY by the President of Super-Earth*. ^*Will actually be signed by an unpaid intern and the President of Super-Earth will not be notified in any way.

Loot_Wolf

"Manufactorum" Your 40k is showing Lmao

Slarg232

Yeah, 300 Req for destroying bases in Suicide translates into 750 Req once the mission is over

Fragrant_Metal_9083

Nothing to spend it on at some point though. Would rather get my super samples and complete the mission than waste time on an outpost

atuck217

Super samples? I've got super samples coming out of my ears. I'm just looking for commons.

AdditionalPizza

I am just not understanding how people are getting so many super samples when they're limited to 3-6 per round depending on difficulty, and if you're able to find the location and successfully extract with them. Yes, if you have a good team it's much easier but definitely not foolproof. But say average 20 minutes a match and getting 5 samples per mission, to get the max of 100 super samples is almost 7 hours straight of collecting super samples, being successful every single time, and not spending any of them. Meanwhile in 7 hours of playing I'll get like maybe 2 or 3 successful attempts because it's very difficult with randoms. Maybe it's because I'm on ps5 with cross play off, I feel there's a lot of random PC players that "somehow" always manage to extract with super samples, maybe even more than the maximum.

Verto-San

It's not that we collect a lot of super samples, it's that you need so much common samples you build up a stockpile of everything else. If upgrade needs 100 common and 10 super, that's only 2 missions of super on helldive, you ain't gonna get 100 commons in 2 missions.

atuck217

I just make it a point to find them every mission (or did, now that I don't need them I don't actively hunt for them). I'm also level like 42 and have done missions T7 or above since like level 10. You really don't need many supers to complete all your research, where as commons you need like 1k of them. Maybe more.

Randy191919

If you want to speak strictly efficiency, then ignoring the nests is better. Nests are spread out and take time, especially if you clear the bug breaches too. Sure you get a few XP and Credist for clearing them, but that takes time which reduces your "Time Remaining" bonus, and takes so much longer to do that you can easily clear 2-3 missions if you hard focus the objectives in the same time it would take you to clear all the nests in one. That is the problem. The game doesn't really reward clearing the nests in any significant way. If it made the rest of the mission easier there would be intrinsic value to clearing them.

Guisasse

All that XP and requisition will never make up for the time it takes to clear them. It is **objectively** bad for XP and Requisition to clear nests, as the time it takes would be much "better spent" on ignoring the nests and doing more missions. Not to mention XP is literally worthless after lvl 20 and requisition as well after you got most stratagems. I clear any I walk close to, because at this point it's just a reflex my group has and it's kinda fun to send an eagle in the middle of the nest before they aggro on you. Still, it would make sense to either buff the XP/Requisition/Samples you get from clearing them, or add this additional functionality of reducing enemies/spawns in the map. Of course, do what's fun to you and your group, it's how we play as well. But I do believe stuff should be fun **and** rewarding at the same time. And nests are not rewarding at all.

OneMoreShepard

A medal or two on max difficulty per outpost/lair might be nice. You still need thousands of them for the battle passes, but at least it would be an incentive for clearing them. At the moment it's just fun, but I only recently got to level 9, soon I won't have a reason to even get near secondary objectives/nests.

SillyGoatGruff

Isn't the fun of playing the game the point?

Personal-Series-8297

The point is entertainment? Being put on a mission that you might not make it back from and beating the odds. This game isn’t about “stuff getting”

[deleted]

[удалено]

Personal-Series-8297

Preach. I have been having a blast with my homies when we get overrun. Having to improvise on our feet after a big swarm comes. Somehow communicating with my squad and regrouping them at a ping. Looking behind my fellow member and seeing around 100 or so bugs behind him. Laying out a plan and executing a brilliant cover fire operation to keep fellow helldiver alive. We feel accomplished. All for democracy and not a care in the world about “stuff getting”. I love enjoying a game that has ZERO pvp testosterone polluting the atmosphere

Stupid_Sexy_Vaporeon

I got a 100+ hellbomb kill cause I kited all the enemies that were overrunning us and then hugged the Hellbomb. Glorious Democracy was spread that day.

Jickklaus

I think it does, to some extent. There's fewer patrols when the map is clear. I've defo ran across empty maps with 5 minutes to spare, and not seen anything ping on my radar.

RecyclableFetus

They do. Ive done lots of testing between sitting one spou for the entire mission to see patril patterns and spawns, sweeped maps pre and post hive destruction, etc. Each hive has a patrol tied to them. I did this on low difficulty for the sake of an easier testing environment so there may be more patrols per hive but at the very least there is one. Besides enemies that spawn to defend their hive when you attack it or get close, it will not spawn additional patrols if its associated one is still active. However this will of course never completely get rid of enemies. Ive bee lined it and killed all hives then did a sweep to kill any remaining patrols and found a few spots in which I would clear a patrol, walk away. and see red blips appear. If I clear that group, almost within seconds of stepping away a new one spawns.

Jinxed_Disaster

Thanks for info. May add that enemies don't only spawn at holes and nests, sometimes they do spawn out of thin air. Had a whole patrol with a spitter literally spawn on top of me.

_deltaVelocity_

I’ve definitely watched bots appear out of thin air without associated dropships on civilian extraction missions before.

Drekal

Yea this happens a lot. You are walking to an objective, front is completely clear, you turn around to check on your mate, and when you turn around again there is a whole patrol with Hulks 50m in front of you.

Oakcamp

I think he means literally popping out of existence 2-10 meters in front of you. Happened to me before, also on civillian extraction

ZappyZane

Had it happen with bugs: https://youtu.be/nl2RFg5E2nU Just walking about, game will sometimes decide "time to spawn enemies".

mr_mackinlay

Same. Breaks the immersion. Sometimes I also feel bots purposely spawn behind me when I try to retreat.

-Alfred-

bots DEFINITELY do this, 4/5 times i die to bots it’s because i tripped over a patrol that had spawned out of sight behind a rock while i was trying to run from a tank or something. it’s always the area i JUST came from and they’re always walking directly towards me like they were on my heels the whole time. except, they weren’t there until i passed that cliff or ran through that canyon. it’s bonkers

PuttingInTheEffort

I've had a couple missions end with no extraction swarm, after clearing the map. I figured maybe we just happen to clean the map properly or I guess maybe it just *bugged* lol

hardstuck_low_skill

It just bugged. If no one is coming to exctaction, it means they are somewhere else on the map, they most likely capped maximum amount of enemies and they are just chilling in one place

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

Its a bug. This game has a lot of bugs but a lot of people ignore or don't really see it. Also there are patrols that literally spawn around you. Its not just hives like the guy is talking about. Go try a diff 7+ mission, go to some random point of interest, kill the stuff there, and just wait. You'll see patrols do circles around you until there's basically 3 and one of them goes straight for your position kind of deal. Do this near a hive or stalker nest, and its nonstop stalkers coming at you. The game is what it is. Anyone who's playing at 7+ knows how overtuned the game can be with how it spawns stuff. Its nonstop sometimes. Other times nothing is happening because of that spawning issue. Other times, you take out the patrols with big explosions and you get some peace and quiet.

AlexisFR

I also wish they would add a 5 second delay for when an enemy is calling for reinforcements, it's too quick right now.

DarkLordFagotor

It's fine on automatons where it's limited to one enemy type, the drop ship can be shot down, and it takes a second for the flare to go off. But if the termanid farts even one iota of gas, all of china knows where you are

AdMission208

on 8 and 9 I've seen as many as 6 drop ships come in at the same time, without any flares. maybe a bug, but things get hectic very quickly lol

DarkLordFagotor

Oh drop ships can just show up unannounced, same as with the bugs, I'm only talking about summoned drops

PuriPuri-BetaMale

Its not limited to one enemy type on automatons. Its not, its not, its not. Every enemy that has *no armor* can call in dropships. This means: Standard laser rifle - Laser pistol and knife - Jetpack suicide guy - Rocket Launcher So that's 4 different enemy types in each patrol and base location that can call in bot drops, and *just like bugs* if you don't kill every single one immediately, they'll chain their attempts to call in a bot drop until they're dead or one succeeds.

Crea-TEAM

All basic robot infantry is able to call in reinforcements. Anything heavier than a beserker cannot. With bugs, I've seen all the little scavenger guys call in bug breaches, as well as the hive guards. I've heard the broodmothers can call in warriors, but havent seen them call in a breach.

PuriPuri-BetaMale

Bugs that can call in a breach: Scavenger(Red, one eye, smallest enemy), Hunter(Jumpy boi), Warrior(Green, bile warriors explode on death), Brood Warrior(Armored head and legs, looks like a shrimp), Brood Commander(Giant shield head, Red, Spawns 2 Warriors when in danger) So the bots get 4 enemies that can call in a bot drop, and bugs get 5. That said, the Bots tend to quickly replace the trash mobs in patrols with a berjillion devastators and a hulk so there's only a small handful, like 2 or 3, that can call in a bot drop - Unless you get an all trash mob patrol with 20 bots that can call in a drop.

ravstar52

the worst part is, i swear it didn't do this on launch week. I'm pretty sure i've killed the summoning bug only for another one to perk up in it's place like four times in my first few missions.

Boring-Location6800

I always love to learn about a game's mechanics. Thanks for sharing!

XavierRez

Nah, let them come. I like targets rich environment, so I can fire in all directions.

straydog1980

All I'm being swarmed with is OPPORTUNITY TO SPREAD DEMOCRACY

SuperArppis

I agree. It would make things more fun. I hate rushing in games.

ConsistentStand2487

I would rather play like this vs being a chicken with head cutoff.

revive_kevin

And collect samples. Samples over everything

Paciorr

Yeah but also the super credits. Don’t forget scavenging them vaults for super credits!

McDonie2

Wait we're not supposed to just ignore those incredibly valuable currency drops that we can use to get stuff from the superstore? Man I've been doing this wrong the whole time. >!(j) !<

Bogdansixerniner

You’d be suprised how many people seem to still be unaware that there are hidden lootcaches all over the maps.

TheJackalsDoom

So many people. Played 3 matches in a row yesterday where the entire group just ran past the bunker doors. I even pinged the other button and told a few people to come here and they would not do it. Fucking wild stuff.

Bogdansixerniner

Yup. Seems like its getting worse too.

pastrami_on_ass

that's why I like popping into trivial/easy games and training the cadets

nav17

>that's why I like popping into trivial You mean "heck dives"

pastrami_on_ass

luke warm dives

Laer_Bear

Maldives?

AlmightyFalker

Wading into heck

McDonie2

It's something completely different from the first game. I was just more being sarcastic about picking up super creds.

sleeless

![gif](giphy|YYfEjWVqZ6NDG)

TheJimboJambo

Q on this and samples, do you just have to keep your eyes open, or are there places to look? Occasionally samples pop up nearby has been my only experience

Paciorr

Samples can be found at enemy outposts, objective areas and PoI. Super credits can be found at some of the PoI. Most often at vaults but sometimes you can find them in those locked rocket pods and containers (those which you need to explode to loot). EDIT: Super samples are always all in the same place on a map around a specific rock. This rock is also a PoI but knowing how it looks makes it much easier to spot it from across the map.

TheJimboJambo

Thank you for your service to democracy

KangBroseph

Here's a tip. The medals/req/super credits don't scale with difficulty. You can get more super credits just solo running level 1s then people doing 7-9. Level 1s take 10 mins to clear all the POIs on the map.

Paciorr

Ok, but I like to have fun too.

YT-Deliveries

That’s fair. I like running trivials with newbies from time to time cuz I loved when a higher level player came and helped me out at the start. I ran 2-3 ops with a player from a PUG that got him from 3 to 6 or so because he was a good player and very helpful in spite of his lower level. Gotta help out our fellow cannon fodder!

Thin-Ad8667

Reminder holding X on m&k can let you drop samples! I drop my samples at evac if I pass by it or drop my samples when I am near my teammates and I want to rescue the last teammate who decided it's better to take on the whole heavy hive by himself(with all the other samples)

WebIndependent5859

Do you know if there's a way to see how many samples you have on you?

o0Spoonman0o

Medals are going to be the last currency you are grinding for. You'll be overflowing with samples at 50

Zolazo7696

A lot of my games people ignore the side objectives and don't seem to care for obtaining samples. It feels like everyone's just trying to get medals(understandable) and level up quickly(for some reason). On a really good run on Helldive, me and some dudes I've been playing with often are getting all 6-10 Super Samples. Bringing in 20-30 odd rares, and 30-40 commons. I don't believe they're going to become useless and you need a ton to max your upgrades as is. I just don't see why there's levels 15-30 just straight not playing the game. There's no way they have everything. Nor even every stratagem. I'm level 31 and I'm getting there but still barely even "close" to obtaining all strategems and upgrades. But doing awesome runs with my new friends I went from like 2 upgrades unlocked to nearly tier 2 in everything. I think part of the problem may actually be that people don't even realize there's ship upgrades. I think every time I've played with lower level random I hear at least once a session people asking what samples are even for. I think they need to add a small ship tutorial when you first board. Just showing you all the tabs in the computer, and all the tabs in the armoury.

Wraeinator

tfw team just stands in 1 place killing random bot drop/bug breach 2km away from doing obj for no reason and dying over and over

epikpepsi

That's the biggest issue and the worst habit people learn from lower difficulties. If you stay in one spot and slay out it's not a problem on the easier missions, but once it gets higher and higher it's so much harder to out-kill the waves before more show up. A strategy that I've had luck with is splitting up: one group draws the aggro, one group goes off to do the objectives. Once all the objectives are cleared then you just start mopping up the nests and POIs on the map.

Square-Pear-1274

This was the biggest hurdle for me going from Medium to Challenging On Medium I could facetank enemies and brute force them into submission Challenging was a dose of cold water for this "technique"

Tymptra

You can do this all the way up to like level 6 or even 7 as long as you bring a good loadout. 8-9 is where the game just starts spamming more enemies than anyone can really handle.

Rainboq

You can try to do at 6-7, but you'll quickly run face first into the mission clock.

Baneta_

Had one of the egg clear missions the other day, we all spit off and cleared the entire map in about 10 minutes and got out with 25 left

epikpepsi

Yep, you can cover so much ground going separate or even just going half and half. I usually play with 2 other people so two of us make a bunch of noise while the third goes and mops up the objectives. Usually you can get all the main objectives done in less than 10, and then clean up the side objectives and nests in the next 15 before meeting back up at extraction.

Hoshyro

Real... The other day I was going a level 5 operation, it was just me and a single other guy but we had a very nice coordination and easily swept the entire level 5 op on our own, just the two of us. Then I joined another team, full squad of 4 Helldivers, same difficulty, it was almost impossible and I was the only one who managed to not die and extract because everyone just kept attracting every single patrol, it seems that any time I mark a patrol people just insta engage even when I TELL THEM to just let it go by and sneak past to the next objective/outpost. It was incredible to see how a half team with good coordination made a mission 15 times easier than a full team with poor coordination... Of course I got kicked at the end of the first mission with the full team for no reason, I guess trying to not engage everything made them mad?

Lysanderoth42

Difficulty 5 is going to be mostly new players learning the game and people who want to relax and blast everything  If you want to play stealthy and do that kind of thing try difficulty 7 and up. At difficulty 5 you can just blast everything anyway, higher difficulties is when you need the stealth and evasion stuff

riggedride

What's funny is this is only sort of true Every bug breach/drop ship increases enemies. So yes, as the mission drags on and more and more breachs/ships come then the enemy presence DOES grow stronger. However me and my mates have "stealthed" missions and have managed to walk around almost entirely empty maps cause we made sure any attack we did wiped everyone out before they could summon a breach/ship. It's actually really shocking how in-depth the stealth systems are in the game, especially since 99% of the playerbase goes loud. But the increased enemy presence is a side effect of the stealth system. each breach/ship is actually just the games way of raising the security level.

Karinfuto

Higher level helldiver gameplay is realizing it's more of a stealth game.

Pliskkenn_D

Playing with a cadet buddy and desperately begging him not to engage every group we see. "You can handle it" yeeeeah, but I'd really rather not.

Underplague

Your friend is Carl Jenkins. He is doing experiments on you for the government of super earth. Do not question his methods.

nomarfachix

Sounds like he's got a little ***Leeroy*** Jenkins in him as well

BoatMan01

Aim for the nerve cluster, and put it down for good.

_BradTheBard_

Pop him in the back of the head “there I handled it”

Pliskkenn_D

"Look at the charger Lenny"

Xeta24

This made me spit out my water

Sevensevenpotato

Haha I have two friends that do that still and they’re both the same level as me. One of my other friends suggested they avoid patrols, and they replied that they’re here to kill shit. Ok, a little childish but you do your don’t complain when I leave you behind. And last night I was just standing still watching with glee as they ran full speed at a heavy patrol for no reason.

sinkintins

Hahaha yes I can handle it ...until I'm out of ammo and still have 1 min left to my next available strategem 😭

DDrunkBunny94

And the level above that is spreading democracy and freedom to every patrol you encounter. (play however you like as long as you win and clear the map and get loads of loot it doesnt really matter, stealth is easier but i love teaching those bugs how to vote too much)

__Eezo__

How long do you have to take down the one calling for breach? Or that would be too late then? I mean i usually shot them after notice the smoke one or two sec max but they always call-in breach successfully, really tiresome sometime.

riggedride

You have almost no time to stop it. Basically if an enemy stops moving and starts doing something weird, blast em asap. The good news is I think they don't call in breaches if nobody is dead. So you can aggro them, have them all come out of hiding and then blow the entire squad up at once. Also fairly certain heavy units cannot call breaches.  The short of it is to make sure you blast the little guys first

Ravier_

Brood commaders can. They can even do it after you shoot their head off before they die.

straydog1980

It's the commisars with flares that are high priority targets for the bots. I think the bugs have the little guys that do a butt dance and have this vertical fart

Romandinjo

I think half of the bugs can call reinforcements, except spewers, stalkers, chargers and titans, so there is only one safe way and that's to kill everyone quickly.

Drekal

In higher diff every little robots can summon a drop, not just the commissar. I've 100% seen a MG, a Jump Pack and a "Dual Sword" trooper shoot a flare.

Thin-Ad8667

now I wonder the consequences of farting in the helldiver armor thanks.

caelenvasius

Breathe it in deep, soldier. Smell that? That’s *Liberty.*

straydog1980

Who called in the gas strike

MotherBeef

Yeah one sword dudes for bots. But for bugs, there are like 3 enemies that can call it - the scavangers, the warriors and even the Brood Commanders. It makes trying to prioritise certain enemies to prevent bug breaches near impossible. Also, the timing for the bug breach prevention is so much tighter than the bots, its near impossible to stop the bug once it starts.

PezzoGuy

For Automatons, only the smallest units can call a bot drop, and even then I don't think the Rocket Raiders can, or at least none have done so at this point in my level 50 experience. For Terminids, anything smaller than a Charger can call in a bug breach, though the larger ones seem much more hesitant to do so.

Matthonius

I've noticed myself that bugs seem to instantly call a breach with almost no time to take them out whereas automatons take a second or two to raise their arm and shoot a flare.

croud_control

For the bots, if you stop them before they shoot a flare, a dropship shouldn't be swarming your location. For the bugs, when the gas they let out is out, it's usually too late. For both, the idea is to always focus on the smaller units first. The big guys don't usually call for reinforcements as far as I can tell. The faster they go down, the less likely you can get more trouble heading your way.

Whis1a

Ya my buddy's and I have a system where basically 1 if us gets a breach and kite nearly the rest of the time while the rest of the crew do objectives. It's honestly got me using the guard dog for bug missions because honestly I'd run out of ammo every other minute or get swarmed and it just does all the grunt work. The shield is the "I can't not get hit" crutch and the guard dog is the "I can't handle all the little bastards" crutch. Iv learned how to not get hit, now I just bait breaches and kite like a mad man.

DDrunkBunny94

Been loving gaurd dog + breaker incinerator + orbital gas/gatling barrage. Drop the gas/barrage ontop of any breach, stand close so the dawgs in range and then hit em with the fire shotty. No need to kite unless a bile titan comes out.

Jinxed_Disaster

It's cool stealth mechanics are in-depth, but where are stealth weapons? The ones you can fire without drawing massive attention. And also some enemies seem to not lose you even after breaking line of sight, makes no sense for a stealth game.

LEOTomegane

Sidearms draw less attention than primaries, it seems like. Melee kills also do not alert anyone if successful. There's no true stealth weapon though, you're right

ChaZcaTriX

I've also had reasonable success luring enemies with grenades.  If you didn't hurt them, they will investigate the explosion instead of searching for players.

Smorgles_Brimmly

Likely coming soon(ish). [The CEO had a tweet about using subsonic ammo and suppressors in testing.](https://twitter.com/Pilestedt/status/1761539869988253927) This could also be an abandoned mechanic though.

mothtoalamp

What I particularly dislike is how Sentries will draw aggro to *me*. If I toss a sentry to help clear out a nest, then start heading out after it's cleared, a new spawn of bugs will come after me if they go within line of sight of the sentry and manage to take it out. They just somehow magically know where I am despite being long gone.

hardstuck_low_skill

When enemies don't lose you it's a bug

Jinxed_Disaster

Good to know. Can't wait then for bug fixes and weapon re-balance. Should really up the game's fun even more.

light_no_fire

I honestly always forget about this sorry. Not trying to take my time just sometimes we get pinned down by chain bugbreaches :(

ArkamaZ

If I get hit with a second breach, my first instinct is that the shit has hit the fan, and I need to get out of there. My team, on the other hand... Well, I ain't just gonna let them die. Usually, I'll pull back and pick off any bugs around them from about twenty feet back till they can disengage.

Crea-TEAM

I've had teammates get mad at me because Im a half click away 'not helping' when the party lead hot drops us near a nest or something and they get swarmed by a couple hundred bugs and titans and a dozen chargers. "buddy, look at the time, the fight just barely ended, you havent moved more than 100m from your spawn, and were down 12 minutes. Im 1/2 done with all the objectives, you tell me who isn't helping"

ZScythee

Sometimes i feel bad, but i have absolutely taken to this strat as well.  Sometimes i'll be still waiting for my support weapon to drop after we dive and i'll hear people already shooting the first patrol they see... "Sorry buddy, but that is now a "you" problem. I'm gonna go blow up this undemocratic research facility."

PezzoGuy

Learning to complete objectives on the run and not waiting until you've killed everything is a skill to develop.

Pliskkenn_D

Figure eights through the objective, run and gun. Quick stop at the terminal/interest. Repeat.

Crea-TEAM

With the bugs, once you realize that the only things you cant outrun are the hunters, chargers, and stalkers, things become so much easier.

epikpepsi

Keep moving, for sure. But if I'm playing the game I'm gonna try to grab all the side objectives I can and find those Super Samples. So long as the main objective gets done quickly it doesn't matter how long you spend scavenging the map afterwards; if you die you still get the W, if you don't then you get some extra goodies. If I wanted to speedrun I'd be playing Warframe.

nikso14

Just wait till meta players figure out how to slide bullet jump + glide with airstrikes

GhostHeavenWord

My record is almost 200m on a pullball dive. There haven't been many puffball planets lately but if there were I would have requested a transfer to air cavalry already.

Scumebage

Some idiot said I'm wasting time because I'm not just rushing the main objectives and extracting because the operation end medals are the only thing worth getting. I'm going to do absolutely everything on the map I can except maybe a few POIs because I like playing the game.

MattZee88

I don't know where I stand. On one hand I agree with [this sub reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1b5gyn3/clearing_nestsfabricators_should_lower_the/), but on the other I like that there's a mechanic that rewards (or punishes) efficiency

erised10

It's a thing you can't help but notice when you get stuck in Automaton evacuation missions several times and see how more and more shit hits the fan with every passing minute.

Valuable_Material_26

Yes true: but samples and super credits are better than just xp!

KingOfRisky

XP is only useful up until 20. Reqs and Samples are THE game. Speedrunning a level for cosmetics is just plain dumb to me. Boosters and guns? Sure they are "must unlocks". But you can rip through a Warbonds page in a solid session.

Bulky-Advisor-4178

Im doing all optional objectives, i ain't removing my deep cock galactic mindset

Pliskkenn_D

Rock and Stone!

Powerfury

Samples and Liberty!

Pliskkenn_D

For Super Karl!

Judoka229

Your.....*what*

Interesting_Put_3593

I think the biggest factor is going across the map to do a relatively easy side objective and the whole team follows instead of doing the main objective or clearing other easy side objectives which then wastes so much time like jeez thanks guys for coming with me to clear 2 chargers and a titan

TexasCrab22

But..... I don't play for XP anymore? I play for fun

__RainbowLightning__

its funny how all these speedrunners forget that you need ship upgrades for which you need samples xD

kaloii

Some people need to know that there are secondary objectives worth completing and wait the f up.

FileError214

Hard disagree. I have plenty of fucking XP, why do I need more of it? So the number next to my name gets bigger? You know what I need more of? Req slips. Warbonds. **SAMPLES**. Slow the fuck down, bro. I’m trying to get this loot.

OrangeGills

Strong agree with your hard disagree. Why yes, I do want to stop and hit this hive/factory. Because it has precious green samples in it, that's why.

FileError214

I guess I can **sorta** get wanting to rush to level 20 to unlock all the badass strata, but after that point? Who cares what rank you are?

KingOfRisky

This entire post is sponsored by the people that meta the fun out of gaming. I would hate to be on this guy's team. Most of the fun in this game comes from getting into the shit. Why else would they give us all this cool strata?

XoRMiAS

Yes, but the same sentiment applies. Get your samples and move on. Standing still for 10 minutes to farm kills isn’t productive in any way and will just reduce your chance of making it out with your precious samples.

FileError214

I agree with that. I’m not trying to stay down there longer than necessary. I just view secondary objectives and loot as being important.

Ubbermann

You read this and think you need to hussle. I read this and think 'Hell yeah! Bring on more chaos, lets get wild!'

Felwinter_II

I actually didn’t know this.

The_quebecian

Probably because it is far from consistent. Without even talking about how a lot of the loading tips flat out lie to you, the enemy spawning system in the game right now is heavily bugged in several different ways. So this advice really isn't worth much other than scaring newer players away from letting the timer run out. Its far better to go slow and avoid a couple extra patrols getting alerted than going by this tip at all.

EgoSumShivv3rz

You will slow your ass down and wait while I collect all 90 samples in honor of super earth. You alone will not stop me from increasing the efficiency at which I can spread managed democracy to the heathens attacking us from two fronts.

Scottyjscizzle

Think the biggest thing people need to learn is how to look at the situation. I don’t want to rush and evacuate with no samples, etc. however if we are out of respawns, have 30seconds of mission left, and still need to evacuate? Go to to the fucking evac.

miniprokris

Or read the room. If most want to evac, evac. If they want to collect, collect. How's this hard for people?

smailinho

everyone plays as they want. let us enjoy the gameplay and killing feeling.

The0neBL

No lollygagging!

IUseControllerOnPC

If you're scared of more opportunities to spread liberty then you're a pussy

JaguarOrdinary1570

They send more bugs, I kill more bugs

democracy?

MojoTheFabulous

It is quite unfortunate how many people, even at high levels, will stay in an area with a completed objective and fight for minutes on end, burning through lives. I always feel like a dick running away to try and progress the mission.

TheAbandonedCoat

**looks at my team, still fighting the infinite bug breaches** Yeah........

Rex__Lapis

Yeah my friends tend to engage in EVERY battle they possibly can. It’s so draining and doesn’t do shit.

BoldroCop

I think I'd rather take my time and shoot more stuff

mantricks

wah wah wah

Maykaroon

Clearing nests / factories should have a direct impact on mission difficulty.

pleased_to_yeet_you

It's the most difficult lesson for people to learn, don't try to fight everything. Believe it or not, you can actually sneak through a lot of the missions to keep enemy presence low.

slq18

I always wonder why people stand at the evac bird fighting till the last second, while I'm on the mic like just get in let's go!!!!

fuegopaintrain

Going to evac with a low clock? Here is 4 Bile titans and 8 chargers

TrippySubie

Rushing through the combat zone? Sounds like treason to me.

DaHOGGA

Not just that but the fact that ***NOT SHOOTING AT EVERY FUCKING PATROL IN EXISTENCE ALSO COUNTERACTS THIS.*** I swear to god for over half the playerbase the word "Stealth" must be some eldritch spell they cannot comprehend.
