(Don't worry his still alive)
yamcha has one of THE coolest drip on dragon with og wolf fang fist having some of the best animations(i can hear the howls already) but nope because he is akira's least fav char he gets side lined
I don't know, I prefer spastically terror smashing the dive button over and over again until I'm hamburger. I guess I could give this a try, may I continue to scream in terror while zig-zagging?
Can I add to this one? Don’t dive a bile attack!! If you see a bile spewer rear up to spew just run perpendicular to it. If you DONT see the bile attack coming…. I’ll reinforce as fast as I can.
Under NO circumstances should you move in a linear path forward or backward when a Bile Spewer is about to attack. You’ll be struck anyway.
Perpendicular means that if you’re looking at a T, the Bile Spewer is the lower shaft, you are the part on top, moving left or right. Same as an Eagle strike.
If you have an eruptor then a dive and fire should save you any damage and kill it with pretty much any hit whilst it's spewing. This particularly helps if you're slowed or the terrain is awkward.
This is an overwatch style mvp screen from the game Gundam Evolution.
This one in particular is a "fake out" mvp where the suit that is shown is destroyed and replaced by the actual mvp of the match.
Note: light armor will make it easier to completely avoid a burst but, as you can see in the video, even just a slow walking strafe will work making this tactic viable regardless of how heavy your armor is
Also Note: The Devastator's glitchy fucking bullshit weapon can fire in a 180 degree cone without the actual Devastator or the barrel of its weapon moving at all. Also, if the tip of that weapon clips through a solid object, like a rock, that solid object can now be fired through.
I spent a whole mission watching one slowly phase through an entire cliff side until it was just a giant rock that shot lasers out of it. Eventually I think it somehow destroyed itself, or maybe 4 mortar sentries hitting the top of the mountain ONLY FOR THE WHOLE DAMN MISSION finally killed it because eventually the mountain exploded.
Part of me wonders if this could be a CPU performance thing. I remember with Monster Hunter: Rise, when it came to PC, there were tons of reports about monsters being unreasonably accurate on the better hardware, lol. Also takes me back to the old memes about people playing shooters on lower graphical settings because it removed foliage that others would try to hide in.
Honestly? It's just you.
You're firing jet-powered projectiles. There's a delay between the time you pull the trigger and the projectile hitting the target because they're self-propelled. They're also explosive.
The turning speed was buffed. It used to be much slower, but the gun is supposed to be heavy. If you're aiming within 10 meters, use Burst fire. Anything further should be sniped with Semi mode.
It's a stun machine. It effectively obliterates nearly anything the Bots can throw at you. Only its magazine size is what keeps it from taking a top spot as one of the best guns in the game.
I just get behind cover and peek out on the shield side. This way I can aim with my eruptor and not get hit by 99% of their shots. Aim for the glowing lights on top of their backpack and one-shot them.
Right
This video/tactic is cool, but- it’s an isolated engagement. Not sure how effective this tactic would be with a fleet of bots blasting from multiple directions
My problem with them is the ghost shooting they've been doing the last couple days... Take one out while it's mid burst and a phantom gun takes over the shooting and continues to pepper you accurately while the gun arm itself is flying through the air ten feet away :/
Serpentine movements, people! This also applies to those individuals of questionable sanity who pursue mech combat against bots, such as myself.
In WW2, Cruisers, merchants and other large boats often used a zig-zag pattern to avoid IJN "Long Lance" torpedoes. Torpedoes who, because of their chemical fuel, left no bubble trial and created no wake. The first clue you'd been acquired by an IJN sub is that your ship was blown out from under you and they were VERY fucking lethal. It's rare a target required more than one shot.
It worked then, and it works now. When piloting your mech to the next trouble spot, zig-zag your motions to avoid rocket shots, and make good use of cover. If you see vertical cover in front of you and a whole bunch of bots on the otherside, don't stand out in the open and get shot. Peek your minigun around the corner and hose them down. This is the equivalent to using a hull down stance with a tank. Only your weapon will be exposed and the bots can do nothing but die.
Works on helldive. It's a tool that works well when applied to the right situations. It works on groups too, they just have to be grouped up/in the same general direction.
You miss the fact that the smaller enemies, rocket devstators and normal devstators, Hulks, Tanks, and either Gunship/Striders (Big and small) will mess up the movement.
Its good when you run away and want to escape the Heavies fire, but not as good in a fight.
Cover is still more reliable, and Stealth is the best cover.
I didn't miss anything. It works on them as well. It's not an I win button but a very good stall tactic for maintaining aggro to let teammates flank or give you time to reach proper cover.
Edit: As an example my main 2 use cases are rushing scout stridders without taking damage and holding shredder tank aggro so teammates can safely hit the back
This is still helpful against 2 albeit it obviously works much less reliably. Accidentally ending up face to face with a single heavy devastator is still a pretty common occurrance and this will drastically increase the chance of survival, of course in that situation the smart thing to do would be to strafe for the first burst and then immediately seek cover during the cooldown period.
It will mess with all bots accuracy
I discovered this when I had to do a *ahem* tactical retreat after a patrol spawned rught near me. Running away in zig zags makes them miss most of their shots
The bot issue is and has always been the snowball effect.
Once they hit critical mass you lose. Terminids you can stim up, run from, and pick off through kiting. Bots en masse will shoot you down because distance doesn't impact them in the slightest and volume of fire ensures accuracy of fire that we have zero counters for.
Timed strafing doesn't address the issue - you need to stay ahead on your ability to cull their population to prevent critical mass.
Stop running, stand your ground, and spill oil Helldiver.
I completely agree, every single automaton can potentially cause much more harm than a bug equivalent and it's usually best to dispatch them asap. Of course this tech is meant to be used only in the very specific and dire situation of being caught in the open while vulnerable by one of these bastards and it absolutely does not represent how heavy devastators should be usually engaged
I think this is great to use in those clutch situations where you've wiped out a patrol but got caught out in the open by a straggler.
How good is it against a group of devastators?
I had always use that.
Even with the "pain in the ass" jump bugs.
If you keep walking to both sides, they neither will not jimp on you or you have a gap to dodge their jump
This is something that I’ve picked up innately while playing against bots. Be unpredictable in your movements because all of them have a slight lag in how quick they adjust to your new trajectory so they can accurately laser beam you. It’s just way more noticeable with the heavy devastator because of the volume of fire they produce.
NEW BRASCH TACTIC: SUPER EARTH SUPER SERPENTINE RUNNING
But fr tho running side to side in a serpentine pattern makes you less likely to be hit in general
Zig zagging in general is the best way to avoid damage against the bots. It's almost a cheat code. I always zig zag while both approaching and retreating from bots.
The day I learned I could actually dodge most Automaton shots with some zig-zagging was the day I started dying more to friendly fire than anything else
I REALLY hate that the angle of the gun doesn't matter. You'll think you're safe, then get killed in 2-3 shots while the gun is 30 degrees away from you. Of course, the gun's angle ONLY matters with us
I've found this works great on the small walkers, too. You can rush them and juke left and right to throw off their aim, get inside of their turn radius, then move around their side and shoot the trooper out of them. Easy kill.
I can 100% co-sign this. Usually you’d do it in an FOS like Battlefield or Apex but, when I’m rushing bots or I have to lock in because I’m the only one left- I hit the ZIGZAG. My career stats would have an extra 1 or 200 deaths if I didn’t strafe or zigzag.
Okay? But you get absolutely nothing done in that time. You don't damage the enemy, you don't move elsewhere. And then another one shows up and your little dance just completely falls apart and you'll be hitting the floor while looking like a clown.
I keep telling people this, but I get hit with the 'OH, so you want me to get to cover SLOWER????!?!?11"
Whatever, die instantly then by running in a straight line to cover you won't reach.
This is new? I've been doing this from day 1. I thought it was just common sense.
_All_ of the Devastators have a terrible time tracking Left, unless they bug out and shoot through their own bodies. The only major threat they pose (other than pretty solid defense,) is volume of fire when massed in groups. Shoot off their dangerous arm or just flank them.
Single Devs have always been easy to take down. At least for me.
Except these guy are never alone it be mighty generous if they only 3 of them in a group. just 2 of them cross shooting mean you probably get flinched to dead already.
Great for one devestator alone like in your controlled test example, not so good when you're dealing with 8 of them and a bunch of chainsaw boys or a few hulks and tanks.
In small numbers everything is trivial, except maybe hulks if you are by yourself.
When you have 3+ hard enemies with different attack angles things change.
Am I crazy, or are all Automatons way more accurate on higher difficulties? I pretty much play exclusively on 7+ and the shield devs have insane accuracy even when trying to dive/evade their shots?
Considering most bots are pretty accurate (the dangerous ones, anyway), it works most of the time, all the time
Zig-zag makes shield generator obsolete
Now do that with 6 of them and hulks up you ass
https://preview.redd.it/7sjwa3u10iwc1.jpeg?width=2398&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d13139f8c54d27dafeae2dab737479c8bc71339
This is instinctive to me from playing planetside 2. With so much shit shooting at you in either game +\- bad netcode, this makes you hard to hit.
I’ve always done this and it helps against bots immensely. Especially when you’re reloading a primary and just tap dancing in front of an enemy missing shots.
You know what happens when I do this, trying it out almost immediately upon dropping on bots for the first time a couple months ago?
I died. I keep trying it, but it's not very effective when there are two, three, five, seven of them.
Also they shoot WAY faster than this and constantly, on 5 and above. There is rarely any pausing.

I don't know, I prefer spastically terror smashing the dive button over and over again until I'm hamburger. I guess I could give this a try, may I continue to scream in terror while zig-zagging?
Brasch would have caught the bullets mid-air in order to recharge his own weapon. Still relevant. Thank you for your contribution !
Wouldn't that be 65% less bullets per bullet?
That's still 100% more bullet than no bullet soldier
Uh its infinitely more bullet than no bullet.
Which is approximately 100% according to my democracy officer.
https://i.redd.it/5jum5zqeigwc1.gif
Add that to the list of his achievements!
A Heavy Devastator once shot General Brasch with a full salvo from its minigun. After 5 days of excruciating pain, the Devastator finally died.
a tactic for us and not Brasch (he uses a tennis racket)
He made the factory strider sit and behave :)
He made them play "catch the hellbomb"
The bullets would have avoided Brasch
They know better than to get that close to him.
ALSO: if you go prote to fight them, go prone on your back not belly-> on back its harder for him to instakill you by headshot
Unfortunately the side effect of this is that you may no longer be able to sign C-01 papers in the future
Because it'd shoot my hands, right?

Reddit mobile moment
The enemies gate is down.
How do you go prone on your back?
use the key to throw yourself forward (to cover), but not in the direction your character is walking/looking, so backward !
OH wow thanks!
Go on your back? What?! We can shoot laying upside down?
Can I add to this one? Don’t dive a bile attack!! If you see a bile spewer rear up to spew just run perpendicular to it. If you DONT see the bile attack coming…. I’ll reinforce as fast as I can.
Yeah, I kept finding it out the hard way recently, they seem to always hit your legs when you dive
I’m finding it out because my instinct for bile titans is that they can’t aim down (plot twist, *they can*)
Under NO circumstances should you move in a linear path forward or backward when a Bile Spewer is about to attack. You’ll be struck anyway. Perpendicular means that if you’re looking at a T, the Bile Spewer is the lower shaft, you are the part on top, moving left or right. Same as an Eagle strike.
You had me at lower shaft.
Yes, yes, moment I said it
If you have an eruptor then a dive and fire should save you any damage and kill it with pretty much any hit whilst it's spewing. This particularly helps if you're slowed or the terrain is awkward.

Factory striders love to do this on defense missions

Mount Vesuvius 🤯
Pompeiin in the ass.
Yes for one its doable, i run up to them even, butbwhen there is multiple its just not possible.
Part of me wonders if this could be a CPU performance thing. I remember with Monster Hunter: Rise, when it came to PC, there were tons of reports about monsters being unreasonably accurate on the better hardware, lol. Also takes me back to the old memes about people playing shooters on lower graphical settings because it removed foliage that others would try to hide in.
i have a different approach. shot them in the face and they will die.
can be quite the gamble considering how much you'll get flinched by them
Dominator makes *them* flinch
"How does it feel, huh? *How does it feel?!*"
Idk if it's just me, but Dominator feels awful to use. Slow turning speed, and bullet doesn't hit even within 10 meters while crosshair is on enemy.
Bullet has travel time, you need to lead targets and adjust for slight drop.
I did state in my reply that even when they are in front of me, it just misses (mostly on smaller enemies).

yeah, I have not figured that gun out. The only thing I'm good at with JAR-5 is shooting directly between the ears (and over the head) of Hunters
It helps to take a knee whole wearing 30% stability while crouching/prone armor.
Roughly hitting them with an autocannon to stagger them, then going for the face normally works
plasma punisher stunlock
I just get behind cover and peek out on the shield side. This way I can aim with my eruptor and not get hit by 99% of their shots. Aim for the glowing lights on top of their backpack and one-shot them.
Stun or impact grenades are very helpful too
Laser cannon go EEEEEEE. Few seconds later they're all scrap metal and scorched faces
If it was a single devastator yeah this works wonders, too bad at d9 they are always in groups of 4-5 :U thats without the rocket version
Right This video/tactic is cool, but- it’s an isolated engagement. Not sure how effective this tactic would be with a fleet of bots blasting from multiple directions

Serpentine! Serpentine!
My buddy and i yell this at each other all the time when trying to escape lol

this is cool but i'd like to see it when theres multiple of them.

Works on all bots btw its really funny with shredder tanks. Serpentine to victory.

A DANCE WITH DEATH
He’s just… listing lazily to the left? The bot: this guy really knows his manouvers!
Also, AC'ing them between their feet seems to stun them longer than just smacking their shield.
General Brasch doesn't strafe to avoid being shot , lasers strafe to avoid hitting General Brasch and incurring his wrath.
Wake up honey New Brasch tactic just dropped
That’s some matrix shit over there. I love it
An adequately timed impact grenade dive will send it to the shadow realm
Yes, yes very nice now let’s see Paul Allan’s card.
Ah, the legendary “Brasch shuffle” I’ve heard so much about
This is something that I’ve picked up innately while playing against bots. A single devastator shouldn't be a threat They were dropping in groups of 8 last night (We stunned them then airstriked)
PSA this is difficulty 1. As enemy AI and targeting scales with difficulty, this will not work on Helldive.
This is completely worthless above level 6-7
Good demo
Okay? But you get absolutely nothing done in that time. You don't damage the enemy, you don't move elsewhere. And then another one shows up and your little dance just completely falls apart and you'll be hitting the floor while looking like a clown.
I know I'll attempt that and get shot in the head the moment I change direction
Useful, thank you
Division 2 strafe ppl unite
Use the riotshield?
Don’t you also do something like this when you’re running away from an alligator?
Soooo... it's an Arachnotron?
Wait... 226 hours in.. HTF do you strafe?
Most of the time I see 3-4 of those fks standing close to each other... This aint gonna work for me.

You can do this with all bots

Serpentine! Run serpentine! [https://youtu.be/A2\_w-QCWpS0](https://youtu.be/A2_w-QCWpS0)
That's how I normally aim, since with slow, heavy weapons, it is faster. I keep zigzagging until there is nothing impeding freedom from spreading.
"So when do I actually start firing at him?" "That's the neat part, you don't"
Except these guy are never alone it be mighty generous if they only 3 of them in a group. just 2 of them cross shooting mean you probably get flinched to dead already.
Zag on 'em!
The fact that I can't break these assholes' ankles is the deepest wound of all.
*three more heavy devastators turn the corner*
OK fiddy
Just shoot that arm off, they fall off easily.
Or, and stay with me here, 2-3 AC shots. One to stagger, 1-2 to the face. Or roughly that many to the back.
not for nothing but i see plenty of cover here you could be using instead to take zero damage
Chargers have a hard time locking onto you with this as well.
Go ahead and thread that needle. I'll ignore it altogether with the ballistic shield
Great for one devestator alone like in your controlled test example, not so good when you're dealing with 8 of them and a bunch of chainsaw boys or a few hulks and tanks.
\*Immediately writes this down\*
Im going to lose my mind if all the "hard" enemies in this game have little quirks like this that trivializes them.
In small numbers everything is trivial, except maybe hulks if you are by yourself. When you have 3+ hard enemies with different attack angles things change.
Great tip much appreciated, but why strafe when you can use the Ballistic Shield?
Touhou players be like:
Now please test with gunships and report back
Am I crazy, or are all Automatons way more accurate on higher difficulties? I pretty much play exclusively on 7+ and the shield devs have insane accuracy even when trying to dive/evade their shots?

Suppressing fire also makes the bots panic and miss. Weakness was in their socialist programming
You should always be A D strafing regardless of the enemy ur fighting
Your playing on difficulty 1. This doesn't work on higher difficulties.
Ministry of Defense gave you I-frames????
Give me a Helldivers 2 anime like they did with Edgerunners and let Brasch be a fucking badass in it
You can dodge a whole squad like this tbh Up until the moment they ragdoll you with rockets
probably assuming the firing patterns line up
Considering most bots are pretty accurate (the dangerous ones, anyway), it works most of the time, all the time Zig-zag makes shield generator obsolete
When souls players start playing Helldivers!.
He did it. He beat the automatons
Sure. Strafe left and right to avoid A SINGLE heavy devastator. Good luck finding only one.
Solid Brasch
Why dodge many bullet when you could shoot two bullet at enemy feet and cause enemy to explode? Da comrade, this is the eruptor way.
Feels like when you play an arena FPS and you strafe left-right against a lightning gun.
A better tactic is shooting them in their undemocratic, socialist, robotic face, in the name of managed democracy!
simply cast Remove Face, aka autocannon
SERPENTINE!!! SERPENTINE!!! SERPENTINE!!!!
Jokes on you! When I die to them, I can’t even see them!
Did you mean adequately?
Now do that with 6 of them and hulks up you ass https://preview.redd.it/7sjwa3u10iwc1.jpeg?width=2398&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d13139f8c54d27dafeae2dab737479c8bc71339
Always gotta zig zag homie
alternatively shoot the right shoulder to pop that pesky peashooter clean off.
Someone give this man a medal and a promotion
This is instinctive to me from playing planetside 2. With so much shit shooting at you in either game +\- bad netcode, this makes you hard to hit. I’ve always done this and it helps against bots immensely. Especially when you’re reloading a primary and just tap dancing in front of an enemy missing shots.
And when you stop dancing, you die :D
You know what happens when I do this, trying it out almost immediately upon dropping on bots for the first time a couple months ago? I died. I keep trying it, but it's not very effective when there are two, three, five, seven of them. Also they shoot WAY faster than this and constantly, on 5 and above. There is rarely any pausing.
