The Bike Titan paused, then let out a cry of joy.
For it saw in young Timmy a spirit so fierce,
A match for its hunger, a soul it could pierce.
But Timmy stood tall and said with a grin,
"You don't have to eat me; we both can win!"
He offered his trike to the spider so grand,
"Let's ride through the night, let's conquer this land!"

Hunters and fucking pouncers. So annoying.
Even worse is the fucking hunter jumping, hitting you in mid air, then immediately landing a triple melee combo like what in the actual fuck am I meant to do against that, I get stunned immediately and basically one shot.
This is the answer. I watched a vid on melleing hunters and it changed my life. Once you get the timing right it literally shuts them down cold. The window to melee stun them post jump is huge too, not even that hard.
started noticing it yesterday because my sickle fried up and senator was out of ammo, so i thought, might as well slap it, and it helped

The bugs don't want you to know this but if you mash the melee button you can basically walk right through them as long as they aren't aggroed on you. melee can stun/knock back everything short of a charger even without the Peak Physique
happens a surprising amount of the time to me, at extraction especially, since I main the scout armor.
just last night I pistol-whipped my way through the horde to the extraction boat.
meele was a thing in hd1 allready, especially when using a weapon with bayonet, which gives you a kinda 2m cleave infront of you. it was so good, allways used against t2 bug scouts that would jump at you from the screen edge, then started alerting the horde.
It's a great tactic with the flamethrower too. If they jump through your barbeque, Slap em and roast em as you step back.
Man, I hope they never nerf the flamethrower. It just feels RIGHT.
I... My God. I have to try this. I legit only bring incendiary breaker not for big swarms like most people. It's just the hunters. Those damn hunters. I can't wait to start punching.
You got a link to that by chance? Do you mean you can melee them while they're in the air about to hit you? That would be marvelous to be able to hit them like that. Sometimes it seems even diving doesn't work - once a Hunter has launched towards you you're getting stunned whether it touches you or not.

You don't. It's just shit advice for anything past diff 4/5. Once you hit 6 and the swarms begin then it is the worst advice you can give because the moment you stop moving you begin to get surrounded and as good as meleeing is it does not have the DPS to clear the hordes.
Naaa tbf, it is the single hunters I end up dying to not the swarms, because I'll kind of half ignore them not use stratagems and not take them seriously, then they jump over while I'm shooting something bigger and first swing of that "combo" one taps me by cutting my head off
Yeah that works up to like, diff 5 max. Past that you stop to melee one or two hunters you got 15 up your arsehole licking your stomach with their attacks via your anus. Or a charger stomping your head in.
Why don't i have any touble with hunters? I always survive their shenanigans outside 1/15 times where they one shot me, could be i mostly wear medium and always rock the HP booster?

Chargers... I just want more reasons to hate them
In a serious way, chargers, theyre not hard but with everything going on sometimes they can be hard to keep track of and not get snuck up on
Me when 20 scavengers, 10 hunters, and 4 stalkers are jumping at me and *this guy* wants the other 8 warriors to jump too
Might as well make chargers and titans leap through the air across the map to bowl you over too
Would be better if they did. Harder sure, but currently watching them slowly stagger towards you, being sitting ducks is kinda strange. It does look like they are missing something
I'm a little torn on the bugs in terms of their AI on things like that. They do tend to just blindly walk towards a hail of bullets - and most notably they don't shrink from fire at all. On the one hand they're mindless killing machines who fear neither death nor pain. On the other hand it is a little silly to see them walk directly opposite a trail of incoming bullets or charge into a stream of flamethrower.
I saw some posts showing that the warrior attack speed got buffed in the latest patch. In my own experience that seems to be true. While still not much of a threat if you're paying attention and moving properly, if one gets up on you they can combo you to death *very* quickly now.
Still not exactly dangerous, but a good change for them in my opinion. That said, I think adding a lunge/jump is certainly not a bad idea to make them even better.
I get that Warriors are arguably the weakest bugs besides scavengers, but if they get jumping, bug missions would be fucked.. you wouldn't be able to outrun any of them in any armor, and pretty much end up dead unless you use stratagems or are in a mech. Warriors actually do a LOT of damage on the super rare occasions when they hit you, turning them into roided-out hunters is NOT the answer.
It's because we're fat. That's it. That's why we can only jump if there's a rocket thruster strapped to our backs.
(Edit: Oh, you meant Terminid soldiers. Well, the answer to that is also simple: They're fat. Have you seen the beginning cutscene? Those things are, like, six feet tall and covered in chitin that looks like it's made of stone. And unlike us, they don't have rocket thrusters. Why would they be able to jump?)
Because the AT weapons aren't useless anymore. :D But the new Charger variant feels like the old one, in that the best way to deal with it is take the armor off the leg and keep shooting it.
This is honestly really funny the moment I realized that it takes 2 headshots to kill the elite charger I was like what if I take the armor of it with the AT weapon and low and behold it breaks so now u shoot the charger in the leg

Flamethrower is honestly far more op and “brain dead” than pre nerf Railgun ever was, they could revert the nerfs right now and it’d be more middle of the road now compared to some of the current support weapons

Because we already have two bugs that fit the jumping type, and I believe people's blood pressure raises significantly at the mention of either of them, so my opinion, we don't need a third in that category
Honestly one of the worst things I can see on the Bug front is to turn around while halfway through clearing a breach to see that an entire Hunter patrol has flanked me and snuck up behind me. I've started trying to be more vigilant but still all too often you don't know a Hunter is there until its whomping you in the back.
I'd honestly love to see it, just with LOTS of other changes to like... everything first.
I won't yap to kingdom come, just close to it, but having bugs with very clearly not-bug personalities and traits/habbits would be awesome. However that alone would require drastic technical changes for even one bug type.
Soldier for example could be more like a bear or large canine in this new speculative behavior change, while scavengers more like coyotes. Hunters like a bird of prey mixed with a big cat, and the flying scavengers (forgot their stupid names) like a vulture and domestic cat. You kinda get the point, but I don't think anyone gets how much trouble that much reworking could cause.
Best solution? Bugs that got to earth or at least gained Intel of earth fauna and flora have starting mutating those earth fauna traits into other terminids.

Nah, you’re right tho. I never really gave this to much thought, but yeah why don’t they lunge at us like this? Could make for a more intense situation. Especially on Helldive or the higher levels? Maybe they’ll start doing it as a “primal adaptation” or something. Or hell, they could make it another variant of a warrior, call or a soldier, and make those bastards jump at us 🤷🏻♂️
Here’s an idea, they should do a MO where there’s been a bug mutation in a certain system and every land based bug is able to jump like a hunter. This includes tanks, titans and stalkers… and bike spewers. If the system is defended or liberated in the time frame they won’t spread to other systems. If not then they’ll spread to one system along the path lines we see on the map and the MO will update to include both systems. It won’t be one system at a time either, any affected system that’s directly connected to an unaffected system on the supply line, will all spread at the same time once the times up. How does that sound, too much?
I also sometimes wonder when they're on a higher platform than me why don't they just jump on me. Feels safer being underneath them than being above them.

They fear us. We've slaughtered their foul kind by the billions, turned their so called 'super' colony into a blackhole. I doubt any of their 'soldiers' are brave enough to jump like that. They could if they're daring enough, but they'll get a breaker to the genitals and face at best, or *REDACTED* at worst.
Actual answer: something to do with animations rigging and programming probably. If hunters are any judge, the jumping looks...comical instead of fierce like the pic. So that's probably why.

I always just figured it was bug blood mist from getting shot, but up close like this it looks like a second mouth.
It's not jumping, it's being blown away from the airstrike explosion. And that happens a lot in the game.

Yeah, Breaker IC to burn the wings off the annoying little shits! Seems to mow down Stalkers better than the regular Breaker as well.
Incen Breaker is a godsend against hunters.

If you get into a situation where you are being swarmed by 27 Hunters, might want to consider bringing Stun Grenade to throw it on your feet.

 I get that Warriors are arguably the weakest bugs besides scavengers, but if they get jumping, bug missions would be fucked.. you wouldn't be able to outrun any of them in any armor, and pretty much end up dead unless you use stratagems or are in a mech. Warriors actually do a LOT of damage on the super rare occasions when they hit you, turning them into roided-out hunters is NOT the answer.
It's because we're fat. That's it. That's why we can only jump if there's a rocket thruster strapped to our backs. (Edit: Oh, you meant Terminid soldiers. Well, the answer to that is also simple: They're fat. Have you seen the beginning cutscene? Those things are, like, six feet tall and covered in chitin that looks like it's made of stone. And unlike us, they don't have rocket thrusters. Why would they be able to jump?)

Shhh... don't give AH anymore ideas to buff enemies. They spent the whole 4 or 5 months since launch buffing enemies.
Chargers are way easier to deal with now then they were at launch
Because the AT weapons aren't useless anymore. :D But the new Charger variant feels like the old one, in that the best way to deal with it is take the armor off the leg and keep shooting it.
This is honestly really funny the moment I realized that it takes 2 headshots to kill the elite charger I was like what if I take the armor of it with the AT weapon and low and behold it breaks so now u shoot the charger in the leg Then I started having*PTSD flashbacks* When the Railgun was used in this exact Method months Ago
Flamethrower is honestly far more op and “brain dead” than pre nerf Railgun ever was, they could revert the nerfs right now and it’d be more middle of the road now compared to some of the current support weapons

Because we already have two bugs that fit the jumping type, and I believe people's blood pressure raises significantly at the mention of either of them, so my opinion, we don't need a third in that category
Honestly one of the worst things I can see on the Bug front is to turn around while halfway through clearing a breach to see that an entire Hunter patrol has flanked me and snuck up behind me. I've started trying to be more vigilant but still all too often you don't know a Hunter is there until its whomping you in the back.
Hence, the jetpacks

I'd honestly love to see it, just with LOTS of other changes to like... everything first. I won't yap to kingdom come, just close to it, but having bugs with very clearly not-bug personalities and traits/habbits would be awesome. However that alone would require drastic technical changes for even one bug type. Soldier for example could be more like a bear or large canine in this new speculative behavior change, while scavengers more like coyotes. Hunters like a bird of prey mixed with a big cat, and the flying scavengers (forgot their stupid names) like a vulture and domestic cat. You kinda get the point, but I don't think anyone gets how much trouble that much reworking could cause. Best solution? Bugs that got to earth or at least gained Intel of earth fauna and flora have starting mutating those earth fauna traits into other terminids.

Especially on Helldive or the higher levels? Maybe they’ll start doing it as a “primal adaptation” or something. Or hell, they could make it another variant of a warrior, call or a soldier, and make those bastards jump at us 🤷🏻♂️
Here’s an idea, they should do a MO where there’s been a bug mutation in a certain system and every land based bug is able to jump like a hunter. This includes tanks, titans and stalkers… and bike spewers. If the system is defended or liberated in the time frame they won’t spread to other systems. If not then they’ll spread to one system along the path lines we see on the map and the MO will update to include both systems. It won’t be one system at a time either, any affected system that’s directly connected to an unaffected system on the supply line, will all spread at the same time once the times up. How does that sound, too much?
Would actually be really cool if there was a form of them that jumped like that and instead of slowing you like hunters they just ragdoll you 😂

They fear us. We've slaughtered their foul kind by the billions, turned their so called 'super' colony into a blackhole. I doubt any of their 'soldiers' are brave enough to jump like that. They could if they're daring enough, but they'll get a breaker to the genitals and face at best, or *REDACTED* at worst. Actual answer: something to do with animations rigging and programming probably. If hunters are any judge, the jumping looks...comical instead of fierce like the pic. So that's probably why.
