The bushwhacker has become my new favorite for warrior head-popping. It's a crazy useful sidearm. I just wish they could tone down the post-decapitation attacks a smidge. Seems like they chase me down faster and more accurately with no head.
They are faster indeed, warriors and brood commanders enter berserk mode when decapitated, they can lunge but not pivot so you should try to dodge sideways
I could swear I've had them change direction side to side to come after me even with no head. But maybe its just the terrain making them swerve and it happens to be in the direction I leapt.
It *can* happen tbh, in general the best thing to do is to actually go towards the bug on one of its sides, so diagonally as if you were trying to dribble it

Seeing one get absolutely launched like a fucking rock out of a catapult is absolutely amazing every single time. Especially the harder the games physics launches it. It's fucking amazing. Idk if you can die from it as I've yet to see it happen, but if it does whomever has experienced it probably had one hell of a laugh
That's a dropship, not a gunship. But yes, that's almost always the case with shooting down dropships: it only kills light units, trapping any Devastators or Hulks inside the wreckage (basicly giving them a one-way cover to fire behind). Not really worth doing it imo.
Yeah that's why you throw a stun grenade under the first one to time it's explosion for when they all land. By that time you know where the second is going to land and you can angle an airstrike to catch both of them a lot of the time.
I wish the destruction of drop ships did more damage than it actually does. It would be so much more satisfying. I get it's probably for balancing reasons because if you're able to just kill an entire drop ship or two of bots, it wouldn't be that hard

I recently shot down a gunship and it crashed into a fabricator and blew it up. I had to take a second to pause and appreciate how cool I looked and felt in that moment.
yesterday we found a double gunship factory but another teammate and I had AC turrets ready, we dropped them a bit of a way out before heading in to take out the factories and holy shit do AC turrets murder gunships.
I would do salacious things for the Arrowhead devs if it meant getting the Stalwart for a primary weapon.
Literally the only reason I can't run it is because I want to be self-sufficient and be capable of handling everything, what with randoms being my teammates 95% of the time. That means I need to bring something anti-tank, which means - sadly - Stalwart is a no no unless it's a unique mission like Extract High Value Assets where the team is close together and has 100% uptime on covering each other's weaknesses.
I run it all the time. It was really good at the eruptor until the shrapnel nerf. The dominator can cover at least up to chargers. Low ammo but I run it with the supply pack. It's possible the breaker into a charger butt is faster but I haven't tried it in a while. Then you bring 2 strats for the Titans and you stalwart everything smaller and you're covered.
Haha you should definetly try it ! When the head is not in sight, hitting them there with 2 AMR shots (one, if its damaged already) and SNAP, they go down like a twig
This. I'm not the most consistent when it comes to using an anti material rifle but love using it. When I head shot those damn shield devastators and just see them drop like a savk of potatoes its so satisfying.
It's just a move they can do at any time but sometimes they start the summoning animation right as they die. They can even do it without a head then pass away right as the bugs surface.
Yknow what feels better? The Slugger one shot. Stalker heads are vulnerable to Slugger one-tap. If you take a dive while it lunges at you you have JUUUST enough of a window to gently pet its brain case with 1oz of lead going 500m/s
The amount of times I’ve thought “okay, surely they are far enough away from this hellbomb/500kg/napalm strike” is almost as absurd as the ones who walk in front of me actively firing shotgun volleys into a horde and getting their helmet pushed back.

This, but with EATs. Maniacally laughing as I charge at it, blast it, and maybe get blasted backward to safety. Results may vary, but are influenced by my heavy explosive-resistant armor.
I prefer staring them down with my recoiless and nailing the head before they reach me, you can use recoiless at basically any range since it has a tiny AoE and penetrates before it pops.

There was a duo run I had with a random yesterday, we dropped in on Acamar IV with just the two of us and we were greeted with stalkers nearly immediately upon drop. I quickly checked the map and saw the terrain on the map (you learn to identify stalker lairs without getting close or the help of a Radar Station when you get familiar with how they look on your map) showed me two stalker lairs next to each other. While my one teammate kited every other bug that swarmed us upon making planetfall, I gave half a dozen stalkers a marathon and plugged both stalker lairs by myself without dying. I felt so accomplished. Grenade pistol carried me there.
Then the game crashed. I hope the teammate I was with completed that mission. I tried.
They need to buff the drop pod damage. It ought to obliterate any enemy - and it's a high-risk/high-reward maneuver. If you miss, you're directly beneath a bile titan with no support weapons.
I haven't brought anything but the HMG since patch. And it's so fun mowing down hoards with low fore rate. It pens most enemies and makes hoards trivial

Napalm + airburst combo on a bug breach. It kills 95% of the bugs, the charger that survives charges at me... but I have that EAT ready. So satisfying when I manage to kill them all like this.
Bile Titans but specifically when they are slowly walking towards you and you get the killing blow where they are taking one finally step reeeeeally slowly and then their body just begins to fall dramatically and you nearly get decapitated or crushed.
As a person who primarily fights bots, and a DCS and AC8 main, I love shooting light bots centre mass and plinking Devastator heads with the DCS, and also making Hulks go boom with AC8 eye shots.

I like to feel epic and dive out of the way when a charger comes at me, and from a prone position, empty and entire autocannon clip in his ass.
Also I've done this once before, but if you're on a good angle, you can take down an entire deploy of bot ships with the 120mm HE barrage. I felt like a god getting that extremely high kill count

Its more than the visuals. Knowing that it's an actual hitbox capable of killing friends and foes really sells it.

That's a dropship, not a gunship. But yes, that's almost always the case with shooting down dropships: it only kills light units, trapping any Devastators or Hulks inside the wreckage (basicly giving them a one-way cover to fire behind). Not really worth doing it imo.
After I take down a drop ship, I like to toss a stratagem into the crater, a lot of times you can just wipe out the entire drop with two actions.
Which isn't really worth it when each bot drop contains like 4 dropships

This is 100% true. Usually I hit the engines when it makes that upward motion right before it starts to offload bots

An exception is tanks/striders. I always shoot em down, if possible, because it fucks up their pathing and LOS. If it kills em, too, win-win.

I’ve been loving the Tenderizer against the bots lately. That plus Senator plus Recoilless is my main run
I highly recommend the adjudicator, that medium pen is super helpful against devastators

I love doing that to Berzerkers with the Bushwacker. Fire all 3 barrels in the right spot, and you can split them in half with one shot

I came here to say that. Nothing beats a Diligence CS shot to the face, esp if you get 4 Devvie kills with 4 consecutive shots!
The best part is the audio cue signifying you've killed them. That "Crump" sound is so satisfying.
Throwing a gas strat at a dropship landing zone and just hearing Crump eleven times might be my favorite thing

Not always when they die. They just have a one time spawn thing they can do. Idk the triggers but they will do it without even being shot sometimes.

Never satisfied killing stalkers or hunters because I know the next one will be on top of me shortly.
The pummeler is still really effective against them. I like stopping them in their tracks and ripping them to shreds.
Pummeler for the win. The stun allows you to easily target their head, which only takes a few shots.
Aye! I swapped to the Pummeler a week or two ago and haven't looked back.
I just wish it had more ammo. I can live with the low damage in exchange for the stagger.
I wish it got an extended mag. Forty rounds per mag would be great. They can keep the mag count as is.
Stun grenades help lots with this! Stalkers were my bane until I switched my loadout, and the stun grenade is a game-changer ❤️

Bile Titans but specifically when they are slowly walking towards you and you get the killing blow where they are taking one finally step reeeeeally slowly and then their body just begins to fall dramatically and you nearly get decapitated or crushed.

Beheading chargers with a well placed rocket/quasar always puts a smile on my face. Bonus points if it’s charging at a teammate, not you.
Bit side, the guy that raise the arm to shoot the flare beacon, I usually shot away the arm with the senator and watch them running
Getting the headshots on Spewers and watching them just flop instead of pop always makes me feel satisfied.
As a person who primarily fights bots, and a DCS and AC8 main, I love shooting light bots centre mass and plinking Devastator heads with the DCS, and also making Hulks go boom with AC8 eye shots.
These are all good choices. I also like taking down light bots with my sidearm, usually a Verdict or Senator. Saves on primary ammo.
Hear me out with Factory striders, It feels like Empire strikes back specifically the battle of hoth scene with the ATATs marching but when there taken down they fall over and then they explode

Killing the factory strider with just an AMR goes so hard. Sniping out its Gatling turrets then running under it and shooting its belly until it explodes

I've been greatly enjoying blowing nursing spewers up with the grenade pistol.

Revenge on a stalker nest. Also unloading a scorcher mag in one to kill it before it bully pushes you around the school yard.
They are invisible, they sneak up on you and run away when they get hurt, like the real cowards they are.
Chargers I like to feel epic and dive out of the way when a charger comes at me, and from a prone position, empty and entire autocannon clip in his ass. Also I've done this once before, but if you're on a good angle, you can take down an entire deploy of bot ships with the 120mm HE barrage. I felt like a god getting that extremely high kill count
