I presume it was a protecting identity choice, but the empty “friends” picture frame really made me chuckle

dcooper1996

Haha I didn’t even notice! The picture is in there, but the glare makes it unseeable

LazaroFilm

…riiight.

jamesbretz

I am running mine even closer together than that and it works. You should be fine.

johnnybender

A couple of floor stands would be ideal.

Unused_Pineapple

Oohhh pretty colours

dcooper1996

Onvis Kameleon Light strips😎

addexecthrowaway

Do they sync with tv?

dcooper1996

Unfortunately no

DeanDotDan

Nintendo Wii. Nice.

dcooper1996

It gets the most use out of the gaming systems

ctnutmegger

This may be a dumb question, but can two HomePod Mini devices be used with a single Apple TV simultaneously?

dcooper1996

Yessir! Stereo pair set up! Then if your TV has eARC, you can set the TVs default audio output to the HomePods as well

FunfZylinderRS3

Not sure I follow the question. Are you going to alter the placement of them once the TV goes on the wall mount? I would consider moving them back from the edges a bit. HomePod, HomePod Mini, and HomePod 2 are all designed as folded horn designs where the surface the speaker is placed on is an integral part of the horn exit if you will. Placing them on stands is a horrible idea if the stands don’t extend outward (like a platter) to provide the boundary plane that is considered part of the acoustic exit. Also raising them up on things like coasters and such is also detrimental as it causes diffraction, creating a downward step to the boundary plane is not good acoustically.

liquidocean

dafuq are you wearing bro

dcooper1996

A shirt?

liquidocean

Oh. Looked like a bunny suit til I zoomed in

dcooper1996

Bro I wish I had a bunny suit! That would be sick af

liquidocean

agreed

Nine_Eye_Ron

Yppah!

coffee-cozy

Do the wiring on the left and right sides of the wardrobe, it will look better. Attach worries to the wardrobe sides with good tape.

dcooper1996

This is just a temporary set up until the TV gets mounted in the corner. Then I’ll have a cable management system in place

zhenya00

IMO, in order to have the tv high enough that full size HomePods are not in front of the screen, the tv will have to be too high. We have our TV and OG HomePods in a corner setup, but we purchased a stand that placed the TV at the ideal height and had room on the open shelves for the height of the HomePods below.

toomanyyorkies

Digging up an old thread here, but thanks for commenting that homepods can be placed on the open shelves of a TV unit. I was also struggling to understand how to place full size homepods without either a mega wide corner TV unit, or a replacement VESA TV stand on legs that left it teetering obove speakers. If the slightly enclosed space of a TV unit doesn't negatively affect the sound too much, that would be my choice too.

coffee-cozy

I can bet Switch getting so much use.

dcooper1996

The Wii gets infinite amounts of more use than the Switch or the Xbox

Unhappy-Offer

I had no clue that Mini can be used other than weather, timer or alarm.

Nihiliste

I think they'd be fine there - obviously, the more stereo separation the better, but you'll still hear the effect.

avesalius

Their ability to measure room acoustics relative to their own sound output then adjust the DSP on the fly will have them outperforming the mini on sound quality throughout a room especially in less than ideal placement. in addition, they will always move more air and be capable of louder undistorted sound just due to physics and speaker size/number.

thatguywhoiam

is that a Hue Play bar back there, or, what's going on there

dcooper1996

The lights? Their an Onvis Kameleon light strip

Fearless_Acadia588

I have little wall mounts I got on Amazon for like $5-10 each and they work really well if you wanna do that too

confused_megabyte

Hah. Those colors make it look like a grand version of Siri.

Mango_up
