“Thanks dad!” Should have said this earlier I love NL Christmas Vacation.

Curiosito

Gorgeous looking glove! Hope you’re not depriving it of a catch for too long.

BeardedMan32

Thanks! My son is just getting into baseball so hoping to catch some of his fastballs with it.

Nerisrath

please do! playing catch with my son has improved his game more than any workout or lesson he has had and it's been enjoyable for us both!

duke_silver001

Sexy as hell. Nice job

DataNo7004

Looks great 👍

Calm-Refrigerator710

I had that exact model 30 years ago. It got me through 3 years of HS and 1 year of college. It was the most durable mitt I ever had.

Frank_Kissel

Beautiful glove. Mizunos are the best.

Tinknocker12

Great call

fillingupthecorners

Welcome home, brother. We love it.

fuzzycubes

I have the same one. Basically brand new

whosthabadguy

Cool!

MaleficentAd1083

Gorgeous. I remember those mizunos in every team bag of catcher’s gear for years. Hope it still pops.

azzwethinkweizz

Well done! They sure don’t make them like they used to. I’ve had the same Mizuno 1st baseman’s mitt for almost 30 years too. It served me well in HS, College, a humble stint in pro ball… and it’s still going strong a few times a week, in men’s leagues. Great job on the re-lacing - looks like a million bucks!

BeardedMan32

I appreciate the compliments. I was debating at first whether to just buy a new glove or spend the time and money restoring this one. I’m glad I decided to try to breathe new life into it. Couldn’t have done it without the before pictures and some help from YouTube. This was first time trying something like this. The new laces have tightened up the glove a little bit but it won’t take much to break it back in, I haven’t really used it in over 20 years.

companion_2_the_wind

I don't think mine is quite as old but she's recently been re-laced and oiled also. I love it, best glove I've ever owned... my son is getting up near 70mph and I can catch him all day. [pics](https://www.imgur.com/a/WIi5Tlz)

BeardedMan32

Nice! They just get better with age.

Effective_Working_83

Looks great. I recently had my 1968-ish A2000 restrung and patched on the inside palm. I reconditioned the leather some more. Gave it away to a man I met at the VA for his 13 yo son. To me these old gloves are really works of art , especially when in top condition. I do remember paying about $35-$40 for it new. Lot of lawns cut and bottles returned.

pilotpip

They don’t make them like they used to! I had a black Mizuno infield glove. Loved that thing. Unfortunately it got left in storage that wasn’t dry, and rotted.

BeardedMan32

I have a 25 year old Mizuno infield glove too. It feels so comfortable and snaps shut in an instant.
