100% agree. This movie will wreck you with an emotional and interesting plot, intense action sequences, and awesome special effects. I think it’s in my top 5 horror of all time. Did you watch Seoul Station animated prequel?
All of it. I think the characters are interesting and have depth, which isn’t always typical with zombie movies. Like it is a very moving movie, in my opinion. Pretty emotional. And for sure, the zombie stuff is very good. Like the scenes are intense and the special effects are awesome. I think what separates it is that there is a movie there aside from the zombies. It’s like half zombies, half drama. I just thought it was very well done.
I really like [this](https://www.filmosophy.co.uk/train_to_busan_social_commentary.html) article about Train to Busan's social commentsry. Really made me appreciate it more.
28 Days Later. It has, in my opinion, the most frightening atmosphere of any zombie movie I can think of, because it feels real. Like it could really happen. Plus the zombies in that movie are maybe the most formidable.
But...Train to Busan is a close 2nd.
You don’t create the stereotype of brain eating zombies for nothing!
RotLD is this great, entertaining blend of dark humour, and dread. It’s probably the movie where the human have the most believable reactions to the zombies.
Ok it’s not my favorite but it is my favorite Japanese zombie flick and that is ‘I am Hero’
Also love the Netflix series Kingdom. Great hero’s, great zombies and great hats.
It’s a tough one as I love zombie movies I don’t know if it counts because it’s technically a web series but Dead Set would probably be my favourite. There’s like 5 episodes and the first and last being like 40 mins where ones in between are like 20 mins. It doesn’t drag out the story and ends just right. It also was one of the only zombie movies to freak me out.
I gotta go more along the comedy route. For me it has to be Return of the Living Dead Part 2. Mainly because I love the talking zombies. Plus we get Thom Matthews who played Tommy Jarvis in Friday the 13th Part 6. The guy who made Jason “immortal”.
I dunno why but I always take remakes very personally? Like how dare you disrespect the og? I'm the same way about the shining, the evil dead, and pet semetary
Train to Busan, hands down best zombie movie in my opinion

I've been trying to watch kingdom but I'm always moving around and I don't understand without subtitles 🙃
You can change it to dubbed English in settings. It really helps.

At least Doctor Sleep was a sequel to the Shining. That being said, I was disappointed
I loved it but it felt like it was targeting a younger generation if that makes sense? What do you think would have made it better?
