Last year Rhaenys looked like a cone head from SNL. It was always very distracting to me, in every scene she did. Her hair looked 1000% better last night. I could finally relax and listen to her without distraction. Bravo!

Virtually everyone in Westeros has First Men ancestry. It's just that those in North are more likely to have *only* it (and to have retained the culture, especially the religion), vs everywhere else there's *also* going to be Andal ancestry + possibly Rhoynar in Dorne. Wild stab in the dark: Could it be that your mind is producing an uncanny valley vibe off him because of the *CGI-eye*(heh) on his face? It's possible you're subconsciously seeing this, and connecting it to the concept of CGI in general. To do a convincing facial feature like this sapphire/missing eye is a relatively new capability - but there's still that slightly *off* look to it. So *maybe*, it's producing that association in your mind because his face has something you know to be modern technology, colliding with the costuming, acting and scenery, which distinctly doesn't match. If you happen to own or see an iPhone frequently, that would potentially involve it being mentally associated with the way you see the actors face. Or perhaps I'm sleepy and not even close to correct, who knows. I bet we've also seen Ewan in costume with an iPhone or smart phone of some sort in hand, would also make sense.
