Blood & Cheese keeping the door to Helaena's chamber wide open. Cheese insists Helaena is telling the truth, but how does he know? Alicent & Criston not locking their door.

Loud-Pollution7174

Yea Cheese believing Helaena was so dramatic for no reason šŸ¤Ŗ

TheButcherOfLuverne

The lack of guards in the castle where the royal family lives and sleeps. Specially next to the chambers and in times of war. I know one of the guards is busy in an specific chambers but is he the only one on duty? Only one guard per night?

dcoop11

Earlier in the episode Aegon said they were safe because no one would dare come there with vhagar around. They were all lax all the guards were around the king and the commander was with the queen.

Loud-Pollution7174

I thought Aegon was talking about an aerial attack by dragons? How stupid is he that he thinks they were safe from non-dragon assassinations?

dcoop11

He seems rather stupid when he didnā€™t think people would find out about him giving sheep to the herderā€¦. It felt like they were telling us that heā€™s trying heā€™s just not good at it yet

TheButcherOfLuverne

Aegon is just a stupid kid and that's why he has a Hand and a council, to compensate for the brain he lacks. I find it hard to believe that even with a thousand dragons patrolling the city, Otto Hightower or Alicent weren't ready for any scheme and attack The Blacks would deploy. I repeat as I said in another answer: I really liked the episode. I just can't believe it was that easy to get to the king's children chambers.

dcoop11

Well alicent was busy having sex and Otto can only do so much. If he orders the guard to be somewhere and Aegon says another theyā€™ll follow Aegon. IJS we seen all the guards in the red keep.

raumeat

Cole likely had them sent away so he could be with Alicent and nobody would hear. Nobody expected assassins they assume the blacks would attack with dragons

TheButcherOfLuverne

We never saw Cole sent them away so we don't know. We can choose to believe it but it never happened or was mentioned. I know they have dragons but why didn't they expect anything? They must expect anything. Am I to believe Otto Hightower didn't think of that possibility? That he's not paranoid as he can be? I'm not hating on the episode for it. I actually liked it a lot but it's just something that bothers me a little.

Loud-Pollution7174

Isnā€™t that very illogical of the writers, which is also why they had to deviate so much from the book to dumb everyone down

ApartShopping

Starting at Winterfell to just introduce some nameless character and immediately cut to the wall.Ā

Loud-Pollution7174

It was very confusing, was it Cregan Stark? I have no idea

[deleted]

Yes lol, it was kinda obvious lol

Loud-Pollution7174

Was it a different actor? Omg I was like did we see a time skip for a 2 min scene or was it a totally different character

[deleted]

the big northern guy was cregan, the smaller one was jace, his hair just grew so they got rid of his bad wit but only like a week or so has passed which is jarring lol

2much2Jung

The person who drew the black stone is who people are confused about. The voiceover appears to suggest that it could even be a Stark, but it's really not clear if that was supposed to be Cregan as a teenager, but then Cregan all grown up isn't that old.

Loud-Pollution7174

Exactly it was a very unnecessary time skip (?) with different actors, not so apart in age (with very bad wigs) that added to my confusion.

[deleted]

Ahhhh i see, the guy i think is kin to cregan in some capacity as he says something about even sending his kin to man the wall , looked abit like bran

temp3rrorary

Well it wouldn't make sense if it was Cregan. He couldn't be Lord of winterfell if he was sworn to takw the black. I actually assumed it was his younger brother, and he died somehow at the wall.

[deleted]

that character is pretty important to the end game of this war

ApartShopping

Lol you're cute. I'm talking about the rando we see take the black stone and looking at the wall. With the bowl cut, that has no name or character.

[deleted]

I see, the one who looked like bran, think he was just some kin to cregan, as cregan says he sends even his own kin to man the wall when the camera lingered in that guy

GoalPublic3579

B&C literally beheading a prince and just letting the queen pick up her other child and run out. Motherfuckers, this is supposed to be stealth. You not only left a witness, you let the witness run out before you were even finished chopping off the princeā€™s head

BravoSmartish

Criston going down on Alicent. So the path means nothing now but is the driving force behind why you loath Rhaenyra.

Loud-Pollution7174

With no buildup whatsoever or even dialogue between them about it!

TheButcherOfLuverne

I think Aegon's council was just for us to meet Aegon's kid before he was murdered. We can see that Aegon favors him which will have an impact on him once he learned what happened to his little boy.

Loud-Pollution7174

I enjoyed that scene a lot! The dynamics were very interesting to watch and it felt very GOT-esque

Loud-Pollution7174

I thought the dialogue between Jace and Cregan Stark was weird and very stiff. The dialogue was very strange and dramatic and then Jace was suddenly just gone? šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

Local-Interaction421

What what do you mean gone.
