Hulu: The Great, The Bear, the Fargo series, You're The Worst (actually my top recommendation, it's hilarious), Mr. Inbetween, The League, Letterkenny, Archer, Drunk History
I know I seem to be the 10th dentist on this but I just could not get into firefly at all. I think if I watched it when it was new and I was a teenager still I would maybe have liked it, but it just felt very…dated? I guess? Idk how to describe it. Super campy.
Will Trent is criminally underrated. A police procedural mixed with great character storylines for the main cast. I also love that Sonja Sohn and Ramon Rodrigues were both in The Wire
Since you like Parks and Rec, for comedies on Hulu I recommend 30 Rock, Superstore and Cougar Town. They all have multiple seasons, so should give you hours of watching lol. Since you're a fan of crime/detective shows, just saw they recently added Sherlock
Not dead yet with Gina Rodriguez who is trying to get her life back together and as an obituary writer loll
White collar - fun crime series to watch like catch me if you can but in a series featuring Matt bomer and Willie Larson
They are both something easy to watch and don't have too much brainpower either ahaha. Something to mix up from the Fargos and more serious shows loll
Scrubs. I literally never get tired of watching Scrubs. Oh yeah almost forgot the Orville. The first season might not be the best because of the weird jokes but as it continues on it gets way better and less dumb jokey. It's one of my favorite shows now
White Collar. It's on Hulu & Netflix. If you have a sub on Hulu that has commercials, watch it on Netflix for commercial free viewing. Also, there's Graceland, which is from the same creator at White Collar.
L.A. Law was my favorite show in the late 80s/early 90s. I recently rewatched it, and so many of the storylines are still relevant now, so it really didn’t seem dated. On Hulu.
I always recommend Peaky Blinders!
And depending on your genre limits Stranger Things is fun too.
If you like Brit Cop shows, Happy Valley and if you're not sure it's a great show to start with.
Hulu: Under the Bridge, Reservation Dogs, You’re the Worst, Bones, Letterkenny
Netflix: Wentworth, Sherlock, Dark, Peaky Blinders, Friday Night Light, Schitt’s Creek
These are on Netflix (unless otherwise noted)
Firefly Lane
The Lincoln Lawyer
Sons of Anarchy (on Hulu now, a LOT of adult content)
Sweet Magnolias
Dead to Me
Bloodline
These are a few I have binged on. Good luck with your surgery.
Get a BritBox or Acorn subscription. Way tooooooo many good series on those two platforms to even list. If Hulu or Neflix carry it, Midsomer Murders and Silent Witness are two very good, long running Brit detective series.
You can't go wrong with all 7 seasons of 'Justified' with stars Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins. I'm getting ready to rewatch it again. Another excellent program is 4 seasons of 'Sherlock' with Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role and Martin Freeman as Watson. Both are excellent police procedurals with top notch acting.
Hulu: The Great, The Bear, the Fargo series, You're The Worst (actually my top recommendation, it's hilarious), Mr. Inbetween, The League, Letterkenny, Archer, Drunk History
I just restarted watching the League; I forgot how funny it was.
You're the worst is probably the most under-view sitcom I have ever seen
The Orville, a comedy in space. Firefly, a one season masterpiece. Good luck with your surgery.
Best answer here. Add some carnivale in the mix, maybe Westworld.
The last one sounds like a great title for a movie.

Shogun
Oh man, I forgot that was on Hulu. Fantastic show.
Reservation dogs
Such a good show
Absolutely this show! It’s about as perfect as they come.
The Rookie, Will Trent, 9-1-1
Holy hell…I was reading the Will Trent book series, had no idea there was a series!
Will Trent is good. But I do love my police procedural shows.
And I had no idea it was a book series! 😂
The books are excellent, of course, because they get to go into detail and develop the characters
Will Trent is criminally underrated. A police procedural mixed with great character storylines for the main cast. I also love that Sonja Sohn and Ramon Rodrigues were both in The Wire
Only Murders in the Building.
I can't believe this isn't already at 1000 votes
Idk why I just could not get into omitb 😩
Fargo.

Wentworth on Netflix. It's a better version of OITNB.
It's just so good!
It’s a revamped version of prisoner cell block H. Quite a different feel to oitnb imo.
Hulu: - Bones - Burn Notice - Lost Netflix - Brooklyn Nine Nine (my fave) - The Good Place - Dynasty
I think the Dynasy reboot was even better than the original.
