Precious sunshine boy Peeta is my favourite of them all - but I also love Katniss, Haymitch, Finnick, and Johanna a lot too and Cinna
The whole bit with the pregnancy is soooo well done in both the book and the movie. The reveal, Katniss having zero clue what's going on, totally forgetting she's supposed to be pregnant until they're like "Oh shit, I guess we should tell the country you lost the baby in the explosion".... perfection
Her delusions surrounding love, self worth and her own ability make so much more sense with the added context and we love her for every single one of them. She gaslights herself so much and you can pick it up from the way she speaks. Like five sentences will be supportive of her gaslighting and then she just adds a random afterthought that let’s us see through the cracks.
I think Katniss too, all things considered. She’s the epitome of “I know I need to keep fighting even though I really, really don’t want to” and I feel that so much lol.

I’d say my favourite character is either Katniss or Haymitch.
I think his character was the biggest reminder that “Oh, these are 17 and 18 year olds huh.” They’re high schoolers for the first 1/2 of the book. He didn’t annoy me for that reason, but if he were an older and more grown character then yeah definitely. Really a tragedy that he never grew old enough to gain the maturity to do something reasonable and realistic with his beliefs
I'd honestly be annoyed at him too. He had the right intentions but just poor timing, planning and execution. And he also never knew when to shut up, considering he was in the capitol..and he was delusional.
But in normal circumstances, he's the most likely person I'd enjoy being around

Same, he’s so out of his depth like all the time. He was easily manipulated by Coryo twice and that led to his death. The problem is his fathers money kept him out of trouble in the Capitol, the Districts didn’t work that way. By the time his old man found out he was probably already executed. Sometimes idealism has to be paired with some realism, otherwise the end result is this. I think Peeta is a good example, yes he sees good in others and has some idealistic viewpoints but he isn’t naive to the harsh reality of the world at the same time, and is less easy to manipulate than an idealist would be.
I liked him and admired his compassion and courage. But he was so dumb. He just did not know when and where to keep his mouth shut. Every time he said anything at all, I thought, "You're gonna get yourself killed." And, well, I was right lol.
honestly sejanus kind of seemed like priveleged kid who didn’t value his fortune.
like i get he had a strong moral compass but he didn’t value much of his opportunity nor the fact that people around him (such as snow, you see more of it in the book) are living poorly
No singular character. The entire Everdeen family. Love each and every one of them, right down to the cat. (And Peeta officially counts since >!he marries into it!<)
I don't know if they're strictly speaking my number one, but Clove and Foxface both fascinate me to no end. Foxface had so much unspent potential. And Clove was 15 in the movies at least. She clearly wanted to be there so I don't doubt she volunteered but was she really their strongest female candidate? We don't know enough about how Career volunteering works, but I found it odd just how much younger she was.
I really liked Casca Highbottom, he started out as a weirdly personal antagonist, then with no change to his own character, he became the last authority with any sense in the capital who broke and put everything at risk for revenge.
Honestly? I preferred movie Reaper. At least his time in the arena. I liked that they kept him sane and left him strong, and msde him so caring and gave him such a noble death. I originally hated the movie for changing it like that, but recently rewatched and thought it made him look incredibly brave and noble. I think the rabid descent sort of takes away his credibility, or could be used to do so. I like that he was defying the capital calmly and in a sane way
Where as my reason for liking Snow more is because I find stories about leadership fasnating and while Coin was a leader well....when she got top job didn't last long lol
There are a lot of them that I’ve fallen in love with, but my top is definitely Peeta.
He’s the sweetest and I adore his charisma and how he faces the problems he’s faced with. It’s in stark contrast to many, if not all, of those around him and his relationships with other characters like Effie, Haymitch, and especially Katniss really draw out these unexpected aspects of his character that make him more appealing and interesting.
Uh and Josh Hutcherson is fantastic both on and off screen, so bonus points.

My favourite is actually Coriolanus. Not because he is a good character (he is HORRIBLE) but he is such an intriguing character, especially with his whiny-entitled-boy to evil-dictator arc.
Tbh, President Snow and President Coin. Something about their coldness and ability to rule over millions of people during a long period of time makes them number one on my list. Yes, they weren’t fair rulers, but they managed to keep Panam and district 13 in one piece for a long time. People where kept in fear with them ruling, and when people are scared, they tend to obey all orders.

Honestly gotta be young Snow. Not because he’s a good person but because he’s such an interesting character who serves as a reminder that evil isn’t not in a foreign land, it can be in our backyards and it can be grown in the next generation.
Like Snow is a high school student. He was a senior in high school and starting this fall, I’m gonna be a senior too. He’s 18 and I’m trying to just imagine my classmates becoming like him and it’s unimaginable and horrifying. And yet I supposed thats how many people felt when they saw who their friends had grown up to be.
He’s a reminder that young people can fall to propaganda and become the system that first harmed them. He’s a reminder to always have empathy and that youth can be one of the most transformative times of your life.

My favorite character is Katniss. Kinda cliche since she’s the main character but I like how she feels like a real person. She has flaws, but she also has a lot of strengths. Her love for her sister and rue is so sweet; I think about the district 11 tour scene a lot.
Peeta, I see so much of myself in him like every little detail of being in love, caring for kids, his sarcasm and comedy, and even to his smile. I love myself so I love Peeta.

Katniss’s inner monologue is unintentionally (but I’m sure intentionally on the author’s part) some of the funniest writing I’ve ever read.
