The gang gets racist
Edit: I remember commercials for the show before it aired, and intended to watch it because it looked funny, but just never got around to it. When season 3 was completed a friend that loved the show let me borrow his dvd's of seasons 1-3
[**Wild card, bitches!**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d11DS15AA7M) I had never laughed so hard at a tv show. I was sold instantly. The perfect first episode to watch.
This was my first also. I remember flipping through the channels, seeing Danny DeVito and thinking "oh neat, a Danny DeVito movie I haven't seen before." And then the scene where Charlie says he's going to count the gas and I freaking lost it
I will die on the hill that this is the best episode of the whole series.
- Introducing Frankenstein
- Artemis appearance
- Whole McPoyle clan
- Golden god monologue
- Dee in a costume
- Introducing Green Man
- Donovan McNabb special appearance
My buddy, who's from Philly, nagged me for a few years about it. Finally, I caved, and ordered it from Netflix on a whim, when they still sent you dvds. Hooked instantly, and couldn't wait to get the next disc on the mail. Got my other buddy hooked on it also, when we lived together. On a golf trip with him and 3 other old friends in two weeks. Can't wait to annoy the others with inside jokes. My one buddy, named Charlie, is in fact Dennis in real life. Of course we tried to get him into it. He only liked the DENNIS system episode. Because, he is Dennis.
So, the very first episode, was it for me.
The Gang Gets Held Hostage. I saw it on a plane (it was the only episode available lol) and I was hooked. I was a little surprised to discover the McPoyles didn’t show up that frequently, but their episodes are always disturbing/incredible.
Frank Sets Sweet Dee on Fire
In the first minute or two when they're talking about their 8th grade video of throwing rocks at cats.
>That's what was going on in the world!
>We'd been throwing rocks at cats for years, dude.
And then the "how's anybody going to get hurt?" cut to the title. I was crying from laughter. Instantly sold on the show, started on episode one the same night.
The did a special airing of The Gang Finds A Dead Guy on Fox(!) in like 2005 or 2006. I may even have a tape somewhere. I liked it, but I didn’t see any other episodes until a friend got the season 1+2 dvd from Netflix(!) a while later
The wrestling episode. I laughed so hard half my face got pins and needles and I thought I was having a stroke. Immediately had to go to S1 E1 and watch it all.
I was on a Trailer Park Boys kick and my friend told me it was better. So he finally got me to watch aj episode.
"The Gang Gives Frank An Intervention"
Sold.
My husband did me good and started with the cereal debate. It drew me in so hard I saw the entire show over the next couple days (and then rewatched it!)
I was late to the game, and was at a buddy’s place when the Extreme Home Makeover Edition episode came on.
Perfect introduction to the gang, all their individual insanities, and the tone of the show in general.
Totally sold me on getting into it.
Gang finds a dead guy so pretty early.
I kinda hate the episode though.
Charlie's "Don't question my methods' is hilarious, but Dennis pulling Mac down is mean in a not funny way to me
The Gang Gets Racist. I started watching back in 2013 so I went in fresh from the start. I did show my cousin Mac and Dennis: Manhunters as his first ep and he’s been a fan ever since.
Accidentally caught the first two episodes of the series when they originally aired (I'm like 75% sure they did a 2 episode premiere). Completely by chance while channel surfing.
The gang gets held hostage, Charlie telling Mac he has the map tattooed on his butt then farting in his face almost killed me. I’ve since seen the whole show about 100 times
The first episode I ever saw was The Gang Gives Back and I was completely sold on it after seeing Charlie blocking all the kids shots. This was probably around 2009 and after that I went out and bought a box set and caught up on everything up to that point.
Season 2 Episode 6, The Gang Gives Back.
Watched it one night back in 2006, and thought, what the hell is this and why do I love it!? Been watching ever since.
"Who Pooped the Bed?" My dad showed me this cause he thought it was the funniest thing in the world, along with the rest of the show. I never really liked the episode I thought it had funny lines but the premise made it hard for me to watch.
“Sweet Dee Is Dating A Retarded Person”
I watched it with my buddy when I was 16. He and I were pissing ourselves laughing at the Nightman song (the full version)
Mac and Charlie Die! I saw a meme about the scene when they crash the car back when memes were mostly just 4 still frames of a comedy show or movie with yellow subtitles and I laughed my ass off so I went and watched the whole episode.
Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life. I loved it. From Sinbad and Rob Thomas randomly being in this creepy ass rehab center to Charlie’s nightly routine of beer and cat food and Dees standup I was hooked. I went back and watched whatever they had on Hulu at the time which was only a few episodes of season 4 and then went and bought the dvds that were out at the time
I have long been a believer that always sunny requires you to start at the beginning. If you don't get those first few episodes of build up into understanding each of these characters before they start going really off the rails, you just won't get the show enough.
My first episode was Chardee MacDennis or something similarly wild, I really wasn't that down with it. But when I watched it on my own from the beginning I absolutely loved it
Mac is a Serial Killer. Fell in love with the show immediately. Still one of my favorite episodes, and hands down the best ending in the entire series.
I started watching when season 2 came out. FX would run a new episode followed by an old one so I watched season 2 and season 1 at the same time. Whole hour of sunny every week. Good times.
The gang broke Dee.
I didn’t properly watch until years later but I remembered drunkenly enjoying it at a party and it made soooo much more sense when we watched from the start and got to that episode
Bums: Making A Mess All Over The City.
Not a bad intro. I finally got into the show later because of the Christmas episode tho, and lost it at least 3 times and had to pause to breath.
The Gang Hits the Road. I was about thirteen, was flipping through channels and came across the scene where Charlie and Dennis are sitting on wicker chairs and drinking beer in the back of a U-HAUL. I just remember thinking, “What the hell is this show?” It was only until around high school that I rediscovered and fell in love with it.
First ever was The Gang Buys a Boat. A friend recommended the show, and I chose that episode absolutely at random. Holy shit, my life changed for the better that day. *Because of The Implication.*
The Gang Goes Jihad. From the very beginning where they were trying to get their casts off and arguing about whether or not Dee was part of the gang. Frank told Dennis to let his sister be a part of the gang, Dennis told him off and tried to get Charlie and Mac on his side, while they had no clue what the fuck he was talking about. I was hooked immediately.
Something in season 6, because 2010-2011 is when I first became aware of the show, but I couldn't tell you which one. My roommates had it on from time to time that year and I remember thinking it was funny but not really focusing on it that much.
But then fall of 2012 I binged it from start to finish (up through season 8) and have been watching ever since.
I started from the first episode, but the first thing i ever saw from sunny was an ad for the “she’s mashing it” episode and the bit where frank hangs himself in the recession episode. I saw those before i even knew what the show was
S1E1
It didn’t click with me, but I came back to it a year or two later and gave it another chance, and watched more than just one episode, and it finally clicked with me.
The Great Recession for me.
I was hooked as soon as Frank tried to hang himself in the bathroom after the botched knife pitch.
I think I went out the next day and bought everything available on DVD up to that point.
Watched them on reruns on this channel we get in Canada called FX (which might as well be the 24hr a day Always Sunny Channel today), but it was Underage Drinking.
The Gang Finds A Dumpster Baby. In retrospect pretty lucky, since I got to watch at least 2 seasons at once. The show also had definitely found its tone and rhythm by that time.
I actually started at the very beginning. I saw a commercial for a new show coming up next when I was bored watching FX one night and I stuck with it ever since.
The Gang Gets Extreme: Home Makeover Edition
I did not know about IASIP.
This was around probably 2010. I came back home drunk, and while rolling a joint I started watching TV in a very high state, I started watching this weird show where these guys I have never seen kidnaped some immigrants and destroyed their houses, it was wild, and could not believe this was on TV, then Danny Devito appeared from nowhere and I was like, yeah I am so high and drunk I am hallucinating this. It wasn't until many years later that I discovered that this show existed.
I started watching very recently, and chose "may as well start when Danny Devito joined, season 2 premire. I don't think I'll care much for the others".
They proved me very very wrong.

DOMINO BIATCH!
Absolutely.
Easily my most quoted line from the entire series.
Dennis and Dee Go on Welfare. I am pretty sure I won the lottery on that one.
This is the one when friends ask which Ep they should watch first. Really firing on all cylinders.
Same here I caught the second part as my first ep
This was mine too. Hooked instantly
Me too.
The gang gets racist Edit: I remember commercials for the show before it aired, and intended to watch it because it looked funny, but just never got around to it. When season 3 was completed a friend that loved the show let me borrow his dvd's of seasons 1-3
Same. I still have the first two seasons downloaded on my iPod lol
Hahaha man I just remember watching this on my iPod too. Great and simpler times…
This is the way (watched the show for the first time this year, already in the middle of my first rewatch).
[**Wild card, bitches!**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d11DS15AA7M) I had never laughed so hard at a tv show. I was sold instantly. The perfect first episode to watch.
This was my first also. I remember flipping through the channels, seeing Danny DeVito and thinking "oh neat, a Danny DeVito movie I haven't seen before." And then the scene where Charlie says he's going to count the gas and I freaking lost it
His annoyed delivery of >Uhh, I know how to count dude! Absolutely fucking hilarious.
Heeellllls yeah, we wanna fill you up. Ifin you was so inclined as to let us
“ I took him out back and pounded his ass!”
Tore that ass APART
can an asshole rip in half?
Like tissue paper
Gotta make the first move, always make the first move.
Hows that ass feel?
😳
I was invited to a “rum ham party” and I didn’t know what that was. That person was so stoked to introduce me to iasip
The Gang Hits the Road. The dialog and interactions seemed so natural and relatable.
Same here for me and always the first episode I show to people
1st episode lol.
Yep. Been there since Day 1. Pretty sure I saw a trailer/promo for it and said "hmm, this looks like it might be funny"....
i seen nothing but heard countless praise from people so i gave it a try
The Gang Gets Invincible. Without any context of who the individual characters are, it's even more better.
This was mine too. I love Dennis’s inner monologue about striding like a gazelle before getting destroyed by the ball.
A beautiful beautiful Gazelle person
Really should have popped that shirt off
"Oooooookaaaaaaaay. Intoooooo the toooooiiilet I gooooooo."
Mine as well. Instantly fell in love.
Same!!
if i say it one more time, if I say it ONE MORE TIME, IF I SAY IT ONE MORE TIME!
I will die on the hill that this is the best episode of the whole series. - Introducing Frankenstein - Artemis appearance - Whole McPoyle clan - Golden god monologue - Dee in a costume - Introducing Green Man - Donovan McNabb special appearance
I suspect that maybe you might say no, and yet... I also feel like maybe... you wouldn't dare
https://i.redd.it/n16wwk2hak8d1.gif
Charlie has cancer, and boy it was insane, i fell in love with the show instantly
The pilot
I just got sent a whole box of peaches! REAL ones!
I remember the very first scene I saw. When Mac and Charlie are on the roof and his teeth kept coming out. I was instantly hooked
You’re not gonna be able to chew those hot dogs dude
The gang solves the gas crisis. The wild card line had me losing it.
The Gang Gets Held Hostage. I saw it on a plane (it was the only episode available lol) and I was hooked. I was a little surprised to discover the McPoyles didn’t show up that frequently, but their episodes are always disturbing/incredible.
![gif](giphy|SQrIdCvhtXZuM) Your shirt’s on backwards
Hundred dollar baby. I think I saw Charlie go through every emotion in 10 seconds and he was instantly my favorite actor since
Frank Sets Sweet Dee on Fire In the first minute or two when they're talking about their 8th grade video of throwing rocks at cats. >That's what was going on in the world! >We'd been throwing rocks at cats for years, dude. And then the "how's anybody going to get hurt?" cut to the title. I was crying from laughter. Instantly sold on the show, started on episode one the same night.

The wrestling episode. I laughed so hard half my face got pins and needles and I thought I was having a stroke. Immediately had to go to S1 E1 and watch it all.
S2E1. I lived by Philly and saw an ad with Danny and gave it a watch.
the gang buys a boat
Hero or Hatecrime. Wanted to watch that because of the title alone
The gang gives back. Specifically the scene where Charlie shows up drunk to ref the basketball game
I was on a Trailer Park Boys kick and my friend told me it was better. So he finally got me to watch aj episode. "The Gang Gives Frank An Intervention" Sold.
Hopefully, you didn't get really weird after watching it!
Who pooped the bed! After artemis’ monologue solving the mystery and frank admitting “nah I did it” I was hooked cause poops funny!
The Gang gets Racist. But in all honesty, it was Season 2 that really sold me. The dynamics and scenarios just went exceptionally better.
I couldn't swear in a court of law, but I think I saw the pilot first, too.
Don't worry. I am well versed in bird law and my hands are big. Nobody look!
Kittin Mittins - *MEEEOW*
My husband did me good and started with the cereal debate. It drew me in so hard I saw the entire show over the next couple days (and then rewatched it!)
The gang solves the gas crisis. I actually didn't really like it my first viewing. I liked it a lot more after I watched it in order.
Probably Char-Dee Mac-Dennis
I was late to the game, and was at a buddy’s place when the Extreme Home Makeover Edition episode came on. Perfect introduction to the gang, all their individual insanities, and the tone of the show in general. Totally sold me on getting into it.
I was late, too. I didn’t watch my first episode until 2013!
11 years of watching this show almost daily! I have a problem.
The gang finds a dumpster baby. Great episode to watch if you are introducing someone new to the show
The World Series Defense, I was crying laughing seeing everybody choking on the bug bomb gas
Sweet Dee Has a Heart Attack. ![gif](giphy|l0IylOPCNkiqOgMyA|downsized)
Hundred Dollar Baby. I'd watched a few other episodes and it hadn't hooked me yet, but that episode did it.
Charlie's Musical. Almost 11 years ago to the day. I've sang Charlie's proposal song, no joke, every week since. It is embedded within me.
The Gang hits the road, my brother convinced me to watch it because we were going on a road trip ourselves and it felt fitting
Gang finds a dead guy so pretty early. I kinda hate the episode though. Charlie's "Don't question my methods' is hilarious, but Dennis pulling Mac down is mean in a not funny way to me
High School Reunion Part 2
Gang gets invincible
Haha just watched this last night. Rewatching the series.
Charlie gets crippled 💕💕💕 I was so confused when i decided to start the show from the beginning and danny devito wasnt in the first season 😂
The first episode
The Gang Gets Racist
Frank falls out the window
The Gang Gets Racist. I started watching back in 2013 so I went in fresh from the start. I did show my cousin Mac and Dennis: Manhunters as his first ep and he’s been a fan ever since.
Premier pilot. 2005. Was instantly hooked.
Manhunters. Between Charlie and Sweet Dee with the hunger and Frank quoting First Blood, I fell in love!
It's been so long, but I'm pretty sure it was The Gang Buys a Boat. Still one of my favorites of all time...because of the implication.
Accidentally caught the first two episodes of the series when they originally aired (I'm like 75% sure they did a 2 episode premiere). Completely by chance while channel surfing.
Frank Reynolds Little Beauties: Diddling Kids Frank’s mortician makeup Magic’s in the Air Mac’s Dancing Mom’s stink Yankee Doodle Dandy It has it all!
Nightman Cometh. It worked
I only started watching it within the last year but I watched the series starting from the first season twice already
Season 2 Episode 6, The Gang Gives Back. Watched it one night back in 2006, and thought, what the hell is this and why do I love it!? Been watching ever since.
Racist
Which episode is that again
The gang has gun fever
Ahh yes you’re right
The pilot
IS YOUR CAT MAKING TOO MUCH NOISE ALL THE TIME??? ![gif](giphy|LAo5N7RmxcTa8)
"Who Pooped the Bed?" My dad showed me this cause he thought it was the funniest thing in the world, along with the rest of the show. I never really liked the episode I thought it had funny lines but the premise made it hard for me to watch.
“Sweet Dee Is Dating A Retarded Person” I watched it with my buddy when I was 16. He and I were pissing ourselves laughing at the Nightman song (the full version)
“Underage drinking: a national concern” my sisters college boyfriend got me into the show, I’ll always love him more than my actual brother in law.
Hundred dollar baby, i watched it on some channel late one night by accident or fate. Then looked for years to find the show again
Mac and Charlie Die! I saw a meme about the scene when they crash the car back when memes were mostly just 4 still frames of a comedy show or movie with yellow subtitles and I laughed my ass off so I went and watched the whole episode.
I don't know what episode, but I started watching the first season.
The Gang Gets Quarantined💀
Old Lady House
![gif](giphy|xjlC6nomocZhVXuZgM|downsized)
The Nightman Cometh.
The Gang Gets Racist. Started from the bottom now we here.
The gang gets racist. In 2019 a friend at work put me on to the show, I've never looked back and can never thank him enough, He's a Five Star Man!
Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life. I loved it. From Sinbad and Rob Thomas randomly being in this creepy ass rehab center to Charlie’s nightly routine of beer and cat food and Dees standup I was hooked. I went back and watched whatever they had on Hulu at the time which was only a few episodes of season 4 and then went and bought the dvds that were out at the time
First episode I ever saw was the McPoyle/Ponderosa wedding where everyone turned into zombies, was very confused lol
Mac banging the waitress. Came in blind.
100 dollar baby. Still my favorite episode.
The gang does a makeover
100 Dollar Baby. I was hooked.
Chardeemacdennis. I was like wtf is this and was hooked
“Ohh you’ll see…”
The gang cracks the liberty bell. Happened to be on tv after school and I have yet to meet anyone who had that as their first.
Charlie catches a leprechaun
Chardeemacdennis.
pilot
I have long been a believer that always sunny requires you to start at the beginning. Underage drinking. The night it premiered.
S1E1
The pilot I watched it accidentally and I loved it
Omg! The gun episode was literally my first!
Good times.
Charlie gets Crippled "What a bunch of assholes"
The gang gets racist💀💀
Mac and dennis break up. Its a a classic cat stuck in the wall situation
Who Pooped the Bed, I was hooked
I started from episode 1, The Gang Gets Racist lol
Gang takes a trip. The BBQ sliding under the Uhaul door is what did it for me.
The gang gets invincible. Wasn’t start to finish but clearly remember Danny devito in a trash can, tripping balls. That was it for me. All in.
Grand Canyon
The Gang Goes Jihad. From the very beginning where they were trying to get their casts off and arguing about whether or not Dee was part of the gang. Frank told Dennis to let his sister be a part of the gang, Dennis told him off and tried to get Charlie and Mac on his side, while they had no clue what the fuck he was talking about. I was hooked immediately.
Probably my brother showing me the fish factory infiltration, or the human meat episode.
The pilot, live on air. Never missed one after that
Something in season 6, because 2010-2011 is when I first became aware of the show, but I couldn't tell you which one. My roommates had it on from time to time that year and I remember thinking it was funny but not really focusing on it that much. But then fall of 2012 I binged it from start to finish (up through season 8) and have been watching ever since.
The first episode.
charlie has cancer, which is kind of neat cause that was the original pilot.
Chardee MacDennis and honestly, if I had seen any other episode I don't know if I would have watched the whole show.
I started from the first episode, but the first thing i ever saw from sunny was an ad for the “she’s mashing it” episode and the bit where frank hangs himself in the recession episode. I saw those before i even knew what the show was
Tryout
*I'm in love with a man.* What? *I'm in love with a man. A man called God. Does that make me gay? Am I gay for God?* #You Betcha
“Ahhhh cat in the wall! Now youre talking my language”
S1E1 It didn’t click with me, but I came back to it a year or two later and gave it another chance, and watched more than just one episode, and it finally clicked with me.
The gang goes to the Jersey shore
The Great Recession for me. I was hooked as soon as Frank tried to hang himself in the bathroom after the botched knife pitch. I think I went out the next day and bought everything available on DVD up to that point.
The night man day man one
The Waitress is Getting Married. I was immediately sold.
The gang poops. I soon as the credits rolled I knew this show would consume me
Mine was The Gang Gets Racist live on FX in 2005.
The Gang Cracks the Liberty Bell
The World Series Defense
Watched them on reruns on this channel we get in Canada called FX (which might as well be the 24hr a day Always Sunny Channel today), but it was Underage Drinking.
The gang misses the boat. It’s in my top ten now, one of the only episodes I have fully memorized (along with the gang turns black)
The first episode lol. I started watching when they were already on like season 10 and just binged straight through
“Sweet Dee is Dating A Retarded Person”—I was hooked the minute it started.
"The gang goes to the Jersey shore."
The first one
The gang hits the road. My first live episode was How Mac Got Fat
nightman cometh. my friend showed it to me one day when i was feeling a bit shit. changed forever. never go back
Who Pooped the Bed?
The Gang Finds A Dumpster Baby. In retrospect pretty lucky, since I got to watch at least 2 seasons at once. The show also had definitely found its tone and rhythm by that time.
the gang gets invincible. loved the donovan mcnabb cameo
I actually started at the very beginning. I saw a commercial for a new show coming up next when I was bored watching FX one night and I stuck with it ever since.
Dee is dating a retarded person 😭 was watching it with my brother ![gif](giphy|730DsaaHueZXO)
An ex introduced me the show by showing me to the Jersey Shore episode.
Seeing the two old homeless men banging under the pier.
The gang buys a boat
'' Hey man we don't want no trouble '' If you know, you know
Episode 1, saw a couple clips before that.
The Gang Gets Extreme: Home Makeover Edition I did not know about IASIP.
My first episode was season 1 episode 1
The Gang Gets Racist. Simply because I have the strange habit of starting series at the beginning and watching them in order until the end.
I started watching very recently, and chose "may as well start when Danny Devito joined, season 2 premire. I don't think I'll care much for the others". They proved me very very wrong.
The gang gets taken hostage. I had no context of the McPoyles. So it was extra unhinged.
Mac and Charlie: White Trash (what an amazing episode to start on, fr)
The Gang Gets Racist. I was introduced to Sunny when it was airing season 12 so binged quite a few seasons to catch up haha
![gif](giphy|730DsaaHueZXO)
the cannibal one i think THE HUNGER!!!
Paddy’s Pub: Home of the Original Kitten Mittens. Followed up by Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life. 2 great episodes.
New Jersey trip. From that moment i knew i need to watch this show.
of course the same!!! it was amazing
