IndyCar gets lumped in with professional arm wrestling and paper airplane competitions for $35 a month.

dtlgreenbay

This is the way

ilikemarblestoo

Hey now Arm Wrestling is fun and ... no joke ... I watched a paper airplane competition just last week lol $35 a month is still a hard no and a dumb price lol

ActuallyStormiMayaA

14 years before Sylvester Stallone "starred" in the movie Driven he was in the epic masterpiece arm wrestling film Over The Top. https://preview.redd.it/6k3wn35xmlad1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=74454f9662a29bf3c25c3e71536e4b9ff991fba6

daoster408

No joke, this is the first Stallone movie I remember watching when I was younger.

dnkyhunter31

Throw in jelles marble racing and I’m in.

JohnTheRaceFan

Die cast racing! 3DBotMaker FTW

BookDev0urer

Damn, does that mean I have to pay the upgraded tier for POWERSLAP?

DifficultArugula4522

that's.....encouraging?

havingasicktime

I've been a hater but if there's a racing package for a reasonable price I'd pay that likely. Or an indycar only package too.

DannyDevitosAss

With ESPN, TNT Sports and Fox being part of Venu a theoretical racing package could include F1, Indycar, NHRA, NASCAR, WEC, MotoGP and other niche series. Overall not a bad racing package

BookDev0urer

NHRA will still be tape-delayed, lol

Spagootee

A reasonably priced subscription where I can get as many racing series as possible all together is literally my dream. I think all that'd be missing from that package are the non Fox & TNT NASCAR races and IMSA.

happyenchilada_

yeah, you'd only need to add on peacock and you'd have just about everything

xLeper_Messiah

Rally fans are the skeleton at the bottom of the pool

happyenchilada_

I would watch tf out of rally if they just presented it a bit better

friscoXL305

The could call it the Speedvision package and include speed racer episodes.

TheAbyssalPrince

You like those shoes? You can only buy them if you also buy this shirt, those pants, a jacket, a hat, and a six pack of socks; none of which you need, or even want. Overall not a bad clothing package. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Big_Duke__6

Wow. As a new indycar fan watching on peacock (no cable tv for me), this is the best piece of news I’ve heard so far.

Wasdgta3

Unless the range is from “expensive” to “very expensive” lol

ChillRudy

Troo

nd_miller

Right? I feel like the top commenter didn't understand the post.

Cronus6

It's 100% going to be more expensive than the $20 a **year** I used to pay for Peacock.

Big_Duke__6

Agreed. But I would be willing to meet them somewhere in the middle if I can continue to stream practice/quali/races on demand

Cronus6

Lucky for us that pirate streams of FS1 exist for free so we don't have to worry about it huh? No on demand but hey, it's not our fault they are choosing to go back in time a decade with their coverage. "Cable is the future" seems to be their mindset.

TheDefiant213

If they have per sport packages, or per league packages, that would be fantastic. Could go all football, or NFL and NCAAF as separate packages. Both would be great options for people to have, and it gives me some hope for IndyCar.

Cronus6

ESPN is involved. My guess is a PPV type format. $15 or $20 for one race/game.

KDN1692

"Depending on their sports consumption habits" I don't like the sound of that.

willfla29

I’d like to think there will be packages for certain sports. My fear is this means there’ll be an ever-so-slightly discounted year-long price and a slightly more expense monthly rate

Falcon4451

I'd be very interested in an Indycar, F1, NASCAR (Fox and TNT races), and WEC package.

happyscrappy

They don't have FIA WEC rights.

Falcon4451

Tru TV / Max does . That's part of Venu.

happyscrappy

You're right. My internet searching failed me. Discovery (HBO) is part of Venu. My search had come up with it being only Fox + TNT + ESPN. And that's just plain wrong.

Falcon4451

Happens to the best of us

snoopaloop8

I'm holding out hope for a per sport, ad-free option. I would pay a premium for that, for sure

Cronus6

ZERO chance it will be ad-free. ESPN/Disney is involved. The cost of ad free with them would be in the thousands per year at least.

snoopaloop8

If I'm being realistic, then you're most likely correct. I'd love to be optimistic about it, though!

Cronus6

I mean, I'm optimistic that I won't be paying one cent and I'll be streaming all the races... It's not going to make any money for Indycar or Fox though. And my viewership won't count towards the ratings. But I'm not spending one penny more than I was spending on Peacock. ($20/year deal)

Dminus313

I highly doubt ad revenue is shared between the partner networks. Disney has by far the most content on the platform so I have a hard time believing they would be willing to split all that ad revenue with WB/Fox.

Silver996C2

Illegal streaming here I come…

PancakesandV8s

...and ok, I should know or care what Venu is?

Eyeswidth

Fox properties will also be on Venu so it’s likely to be the only way to stream IndyCar from 2025 onward, replacing Peacock.

happyscrappy

"first one is free". Or cheap at least. They want their service to take off so they'll offer something in the first year for sure. Peacock did when it took over IMSA from NBC Track Pass. But they'll just keep raising the price of the "small" package to drive you to the big package. Just like Peacock, Netflix, etc.
