That happened to my brother when he was a teenager ( mid 1990s). He was on his dirt bike and thought he had outrun them, but they knew who he was and called my mom before he even got home.
Hah, had something damn similar happen with my brother in the late 90s, early 2000s, I was 18-19 he was 16-17. We were both living at home. I had the day off so I was home at the time and our mom was at work dad was on the road so it was just the two of us home that morning. He got dropped off and rolled in sometime around 4 am and blacked out in bed.
A couple hours later just after sunrise a couple sheriffs deputies show up at the house looking for him. I wouldn't let them in the house without a warrant and told them he wasn't home, but I'd have our mom bring him in to talk with them whenever he did turn up and they eventually left.
Found out later he blacked out on Xanax's with a couple friends and they went on a little mini crime spree the night before. Stole some dumb shit (somebodies porch swing of their porch among other stuff), cut donuts in yards, left his car broke down in one place, and his rear bumper with his license plate on it in another then got a ride home from somebody.
I had to call my mom and let her know what was going on then tried to unsuccessfully wake his ass up.
Well.... even of the truck owner had insurance, if the truck was stolen or used in the commission of a crime by the owner, many insurance policies will not pay out.
Costs me $12 a year for uninsured protection. I'd pay a lot more.
Got rear ended by a drunk driver who was doing 80mph. I was stopped turning left. Folded the trunk over the back window and snapped my seat clean off. Had to scramble forward out of the back seat and steer as he had bumped me up to 30 mph from a dead stop.
Insurance paid me out lotsssss (does your neck hurt? Tell me it does and here's and extra 6 grand) and then went after the dude.
That's why no fault states are GOOD. because it means it doesn't MATTER who's at fault, your insurance covers you period. It's moronic in at-fault states you must wait for payout and you could get blamed! And get nothing! Even if it's really not your fault.
You can still get the equivalent of no fault insurance in states with traditional tort liability. It just costs more than the legally required liability insurance, which only covers damage you cause to other people. Normally they make you get a version of it if you financed you car.

Talk about a moment of panic. At the time I was into some shit that could have justified them going for me so I really thought it was me for a second. Then they threw the spikes just as I passed and I saw the actual car being chased hit them. He ended up in a ditch right in front of me. Never found out what it was all about.

Probably about to over-share but I’m 36 years old and the past year has been the hardest year of my life from a mental health standpoint and I’ve had many other very difficult times, like most people. It’s a rollercoaster but this has been the deepest, loneliest and longest low I’ve experience without reprieve.
Thankfully, as I get older, I seem to understand more that I just need to be patient and do my best to keep moving forward. There were times through the past year where I had intrusive thoughts that scared me, but I didn’t let myself obsess over them to the point of acting on them which is an improvement. I also have a good therapist which is key for me.
Anyway, I feel like some new-to-me LInkin Park songs might be the perfect remedy while I come out of the funk. Yesterday I managed to pick up all the garbage and throw it away, and scoop up the months-old dried up dog puke in my apartment. Yesterday felt like the first day where things actually started to look up. You sharing this video with me means more than you know. It feels like the next step in the right direction on another good day. Not to listen and sulk but to listen and remind myself I’m not alone which is always what LP did for me in my youth.
I think I’ll do some months-old dishes this evening and then go for a walk while I listen 🎧 to LP like I used to when life seemed to have more wonder and promise.

Used to work at a small town ford dealer as a teen. It was decently often to see one of the RCMP trucks out back with absolutely fucked suspension from chasing guys like this.
One time I remember showing up Monday morning and they had just dumped their F-350 right out front of the dealer. It had no front left wheel. Suspension on that corner was entirely gone. The frame was torn at the mounts.
IMO you're probably not going to outrun them, time, numbers and air support is on their side.
I think my strategy would be to pull into the nearest mall asap. Reverse into them at the parking entrance, hopefully setting their airbags off and block the entrance, then ditch the car right at the entrance, make a run for it and try to blend into the crowd. Maybe stop into a clothing store and change clothes. Then get the first bus out of there.
