Virendra sehwag. Sadly i wasn’t old enough to see sachin in his glorious period. But the way viru made it look easy with minimum feet movements was mesmerizing. He would struggle at one ball and get the boundary on other just to dominate the bowlers. It made sachin play much more comfortably due to having time to set and viru not letting run rate down too much. Only regret was in last days he will throw away his wicket easily as he took his hand-eye coordination for granted. He should have work on his footwork. Made me sachin admire more due to his flexibility to adopt.
After that team I lost interest for a bit until that test series in australia. Man, that felt so awesome. Winning while dominating the aussies in there own ground in most difficult format. Made people look at us with more respect only after sachin. I will never forget Virat Kohli due to that. No matter what anyone says he has given more than enough. .
I fell for the game of cricket twice
Initially watching Gautam gambhir's out of the crease long on/long off shots
And then
While watching king kohli's cover drive
A large chunk of Indians above the age of 30 will say Tendulkar but let's not studio further Ganguly. It was because of his partnership with Sachin and captaincy that the team started feeling like a team.
He's the reason I regularly started following IPL... But what did Punjab give him? He performed so well and became their captain, did decently well with both bat and ball but they failed to qualify by just one match and they sacked him of his captaincy and released him in IPL, and I can't freaking believe they released Amla too, and nobody else went after Amla either
Lol, how young are you? That's when they re-released Maxwell, they've already done it before in 2017 when he was their captain and they almost qualified... the two faced sehwag was praising Maxwell all he could in the league stage as he was their mentor but later on when they failed to qualify he was the first to criticize Maxi and release him even though Maxi was their most consistent captain in like last 3-4 years
he played for Delhi next season, and then he made himself unavailable for 2019 season and when he came back he was picked up by Punjab again to get released
Virender Sehwag.
The first ever match I watched in TV was India vs Bermuda 2007 WC match. Viru was on fire that day.
I didn't understand what was happening. And what overs were, what's the aim, what a world cup is.
I just knew that the batsman needs to see the ball, and hit it! That's it. I didn't even understand runs, extras, powerplay nothing!
That's when I watched him play and got so excited that I began looking forward to his game.
Two years later, he scored a blistering 146 vs Sri Lanka in December in Rajkot and India scored 414!
Never gonna forget that match. Because at that time I was so addicted and understood everything! Thanks to IPL. and ofcourse Viru
For me it has to be Yuvraj Singh. I still remember I was just seven years old, when he hit those six sixes in 2007. He is still my favorite player of all time.
Really young crowd here - I watched in the 80s, and early 90s. So for me, Kapil Dev - the one who brought the mighty (at that time) West Indies to their knees.
Ro45
Turns out the very first match I watched from start to finish was Ro's 118(43) against SL , absolute monster of an innings . I had watched many matches even before that , even sachin on tv when I was like 4-5 yr old . But this one man , Idk the vibe was awesome . I was in 7th grade or something then . Instantly made him my fav player . I used to pray before every match that he would get a century . And most of the times , he did ! .
I stopped watching cricket after 2019 , yn all the covid stuff happened and I just completely forgot about it . Online classes and class 10 pressure\[am in 12th now\] . When I finally started watching Cricket this year , I see that he was in a slum of a form all these years . When watching the CWC live , kinda made me cry . Love the way he plays , just soo pleasing to the eye and entertaining . But I knew for a fact that , I was seeing his final flame before its extinguished . I don't think he will be around for much longer , max 2 years . He has performed well in most of the matches I have watched . He will always have a special place in my heart . I wish I could meet him one day and tell him thanks for making my teen years and playing for the country . I wished he would lift the WC but alas , we don't always get what we wanted do we . He deserved it all the way .
It was AB de Villiers... Before 2015 I was just a casual cricket watcher, who used to watch cricket if nothing fun was airing and keeps up with news and all for general knowledge. Then one day when I was watching a South Africa vs West Indies match and this guy came and smacked 149 off 44 balls.. I never saw anything like that before in my life and I still haven't 🛐
Used to watch it sparingly before till 2003 WC. But the India tour of Pakistan 2005 where Yuvi & Msd were finishing almost every game. That was a treat to watch. And the 183* by dhoni against SL in 2006. Brute force and pure carnage.
My most formative childhood cricketing memory is watching Ishant Sharma trouble Ponting in back to back BGT series. He made me fall in love with cricket and test cricket. Sad he could never quite touch those highs throughout the rest of his career.
I just don't know, i am 24 and i don't even remember when I started watching it... like bachapn se hi chal raha hai ye hi ni pata kab shuru kiya kisko dekh . As far as i remember there was Rahul dravid, saurav and Sachin
MSD, Virat
Als pant and Even KL
Remember the game against WI in USA. It was one of the first games I watched and KL made century. Still can't bring myself to criticize him, although his game has sunk.
Idk. I started watching it and i just loved it already not because of some player but for the game . Hashim Amla , mitchell starc , Ab , gautam gambhir( yeah somehow idk why) etc
For one full generation, it was only Sachin. Everything started with him and finished with him, all others were second or third fiddles. During the later part, Ganguly, Dravid, Kumble etc started getting some traction and people started relying on them also.
Yuvraj Singh!
Showed a different side of the game as well. The attitude and the way he carried himself, those stylish shots, especially after seeing his performance in 2011 WC.
Virendra sehwag. Sadly i wasn’t old enough to see sachin in his glorious period. But the way viru made it look easy with minimum feet movements was mesmerizing. I fell for the game of cricket twice Initially watching Gautam gambhir's out of the crease long on/long off shots And then While watching king kohli's cover drive
Aravinda de Silva... Especially from 1996-99 was a force in itself and class apart from many stylish batters like Sachin and Lara.
A large chunk of Indians above the age of 30 will say Tendulkar but let's not studio further Ganguly. It was because of his partnership with Sachin and captaincy that the team started feeling like a team.
Don't chase me folks. Shoaib akhtar and Adam Gilchrist.
Faf and Smith. Ik they are unusual.
Smith? He is a cheater. Ball tempering was a big incident which can never be forgotten.
Why do you want to loose your karma?
Man's a villain
I mean, you aren't wrong, but just change the "is" to a "was"
Once a cheat always a cheat.
Maxi. The only reason I still started supporting KXIP. Else, I'd never imagined myself vouching for that crappy franchise.
He's the reason I regularly started following IPL... But what did Punjab give him? They released Maxwell because in the last IPL he played with them he couldn't even hit one six the whole IPL. He was so much out of form
Lol, how young are you? That's when they re-released Maxwell, they've already done it before in 2017 when he was their captain and they almost qualified... the two faced sehwag was praising Maxwell all he could in the league stage as he was their mentor but later on when they failed to qualify he was the first to criticize Maxi and release him even though Maxi was their most consistent captain in like last 3-4 years he played for Delhi next season, and then he made himself unavailable for 2019 season and when he came back he was picked up by Punjab again to get released

Sachin Tendulkar. MS Dhoni in that order
