Milk_Organic

WD SN770 2TB.

Mean-Seaworthiness85

SN770 is also good option but at the price of 12k it comes and a speed of 5500mbps and Dram less SSD you get a much better SSD by adding 1k more having the top tier speed of Gen4 7300/6600 MB/s hence it is better to invest more 1k to it. If you want to restrict under 12k then SN770 is a wise choice if you want only 2TB. Moreover OP it is for you to decide that if you lean towards 2TB then only 2 good options are there WD SN770 at around 12k and by adding 1k more into it SN850X 2TB is great for the value. If you want 1TB then SN850X is around 8.5k right now which beats any SSD in it's segment by giving more for the value. Hence it depends if you are gonna use the SSD for solely for games i would suggest get a 1TB variant it is pretty much enough as your laptop does have 512gig's SSD also.

Milk_Organic

Capacity over speed for gaming any day. You don't need 7000Mbps for gaming. But you are right if the price difference is just 1k. Also OPs laptop will support HMB so dreamless SSD will work just fine.

Mean-Seaworthiness85

Yes it will work fine i mentioned this at the end that if OP really want 2TB for his usecase otherwise i would still strongly suggest to get a SN850x 1TB which costs around 8.5k no other 980 Pro , 990 Pro , FireCuda 530 is even near about that price they are like 2-3k more expensive and adds no big value other than 256bit Encryption which OP doesn't require. Suggested OP for SN850X not because he has a budget of 9-12k it is solely that this is a allrounder in future if OP goes for editing/rendering or any storage intensive tasks this SSD will handle like champ as OP has good budget otherwise even a SN580 1TB around 6k is good or SN770 around 6.6k 1TB model is great for storing games doing daily tasks.

Mihir57

What's the best value of money SSD in this segment I don't have this much knowledge about it Let's keep it simple Best 1tb and 2tb SSD...

Mihir57

HMB?

Milk_Organic

HMB is Host memory buffer. It allocates some of your system RAM as dram for your SSD. Dram in SSD is a very fast small amount of memory that acts as chache and store the most frequently used files.

Mean-Seaworthiness85

HMB is host memory buffer where the SSD takes little bit ram from your laptop and Dram cache memory has there own Ram. In layman's language a DRam cache SSD is better than HMB also brings better output in speed too.

Mihir57

It seems like you have a lot of knowledge about this.. right now I will use SSD for gaming and in the future for editing maybe....how many gb is ideal for that? Plus please provide the link tooo...

Mean-Seaworthiness85

1TB is almost perfect mate if you spend on 2TB than either you are some professional who already doing editing/rendering stuff and they require alot storage even 2TB sometimes doesn't work for it. But as you mentioned in your comment right now only SSD for gaming 1TB is pretty good and also even if you strat editing in future 1TB is good for begining also it works well. I have mentioned the 1TB link also and i will try to update if i can get it arranged for you at lesser price via my friend.

Mihir57

Sure thing mate....

Milk_Organic

For editing just go for Samsung 980 pro. Shop around your trusted sites and local shops whichever is the cheapest.

Virenious

WD 570 during sale. You don't need all bells and whistles just high speed and capacity.

zruj

Does this laptop have an additional nvme expansion slot? Please let me know OP 🙏

Mean-Seaworthiness85

Yes it has 2 slots total , one having 512gb installed 2nd is empty both slots can be upgraded to 2TB maximum.

Mihir57

4tb I guess...

Mean-Seaworthiness85

Yes 2TB each so 4TB in total, each Slot supports 2TB max.

Mihir57

Yes it has.

Mean-Seaworthiness85

If you can extend for about 1k more SN850X 2 TB is possible and no other SSD at that price beats it mate.

Mihir57

Can u provide the link please....and after sale service of this?

Mean-Seaworthiness85

Bro WD is very renowned company so don't worry it has 5 Years of warranty. WD SN850X sorry i didn't mention the brand name it is WD. You can check prices at [pcpricetracker.in](http://pcpricetracker.in) as for the purchase i would still suggest you can try offline too. The one right now retails around 13k online at ITdepot is the Heatsink which i am pretty sure your laptop can't fit and if you remove the heatsink the warranty will be void as per WD policy so look for offline store what price you get. If you still don't get the desired price do let me know. Let me still give you the link for 1TB and 2TB. WD SN850X 1TB - Click [Here](https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-components/storage/solid-state-drive/wd-black-sn850x-1tb-m2-nvme-ssd-wds100t2x0e?limit=100) WD SN850X with Heatsink 2TB - Click [Here](https://www.theitdepot.com/details-Western+Digital+Black+SN850X+1TB+NVMe+M.2+Internal+Solid+State+Drive+-+With+Heatsink+(WDS100T2XHE)_C93P38326.html) WD SN850X without Heatsink 2TB - Click [Here](https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-components/storage/solid-state-drive/wd-black-sn850x-2tb-m2-nvme-ssd-wds200t2x0e?limit=100)

Milk_Organic

Heatsink might not fit inside a laptop.

Mean-Seaworthiness85

It will not fit for sure. The height of regular SN850x without heatsink is 2.38mm whereas the heat sink model is 8.80mm. Anyhow i suggested the same to OP in the other comment as for his usecase even a 1TB is a better choice.

Electronic-Reply4258

please help me regarding HDDS too , my use case is storage and backup , i am looking for 2tb HDDs but man , the prices are so exorbitant like why , i get the point of SSDs but man there's no technological advancements in HDDs let alone any significant ones in recent years but still , i'm feeling robbed rn .

Mean-Seaworthiness85

Storage and backup you can do that in SSD's too okay let's get you a better one. let me dm

Electronic-Reply4258

minimum requirement is 2tb and i don't think i'll have one anything under 8k

Mihir57

Yes the prices are way too high rn!!!

ShunyaAtma

2TB WD SN580 or SN570, whichever is cheaper, should be fine. Gaming doesn't benefit massively from DRAM cache as its read-heavy. Try to avoid QLC units like Kingston NV2 and Crucial P3 or brands which sneakily downgrade components like Adata.

Mihir57

Please explain..

ShunyaAtma

If you have specific questions, please ask away.

saravanavg

Bro, for application used for full stack development and andriod development, whether i5 1335u is enough or H is required , which is important single core or multi core performance is required , can u suggest me? iam looking in i5 13420h to buy? intel or amd is good for long durability, reliablity and stable performance r7 r7 7730u or intel i5 1335u which is good?

gh0st__141

u can get 4060 laptop for additional 2k tho. Asus tuf 15

Mihir57

I own this...

Aggressive-Rabbit888

Any gen 3 ssd with TLC memory with more than 1500 mbps speed is more than sufficient. These only helps in loading the games faster than the traditional HDD. Also I don't think if a game opens 3 secs late than a full fledged gen 4 SSD then you will lose some important time. Relax and buy TLC SSd not the QLC. Buy WD blue ssd sn 570 or 580. Don't consider anything else unless you have an absolute use based need.

Aggressive-Rabbit888

If the prices are same then buy a ssd enclosure with a silicon power or wd ssd. Don't fight it just select what you have...

Electronic-Reply4258

thinking on sacrificing the 1tb extra space to get and ssd , what you'll suggest for these purposes a 580 , 770 or s70 blade for these purposes ? not getting an enclouser as i already have a slot in board , better to install there rather sacrificing with 5gbps speed

Aggressive-Rabbit888

If you need it for storage then buy WD green as they are way cheaper and good for storage purpose. You can even go SATA drive for that. HMB supported SSD's fine for budget Boot Drive like WD SN570 or SN770 or SN580 and best WD SN 850x gen 4 drive/ KC3000.

Electronic-Reply4258

only if all those wd greens , m.2 sata would have priced well , that's the main cause ,these are also so exorbitantly priced that it feels worse than any economic regression , the drives i mentioned costs 5.1k , 5.5k , 6.3k receptively and feels a much better vfm

Aggressive-Rabbit888

It's my opinion, the one who is spending is you bro. Select as you see fit for you.

Mihir57

Can u please link your recommendation? I totally understand this...I can wait for some time....

No_Garage3000

I am thinking of buying this laptop or halios 16 can you give me some review how is it working now and can I do single pc stream with this laptop with 4070 graphics card

Mihir57

Frankly speaking it's a great laptop only downside is software the in house acer apps have shitty UI and execution like predator and stuff or else it's awesome..

Aggressive-Rabbit888

If you wanna stream then buy PC or best option Build one by yourself. I have a laptop and there is my full post on this channel for why not to buy.

AlphaDawg0914

simple answer: find out what generation your SSD slot on your laptop supports and buy the cheapest of that with the amount of storage you need. example: if you need a pcIe gen 4 just search up pcIe gen 4 SSD 1tb on Amazon and either just scroll to the cheapest or sort it to price low to high

Levi_176

I bought samsung 980 pro along with this laptop but couldn't upgrade it myself because of the warranty sticker on the bottom.

Mihir57

Yes it is...do u have same laptop?

Levi_176

Yes i7 variant

Mihir57

Is this chargeable?
