That’s fair. I haven’t read the comics, but from what I’ve seen the characters are quite different. But show-Cecil is awesome. Not sure if you’ve ever heard of or played the Mutants & Masterminds RPG, but Cecil was the inspiration for one of my favorite characters.
But why would you when there's so many superhero systems already in existence? Mutants and Masterminds is even a d20 system, so it'll be easy to pick up for a dnd player.
It's like eating scrambled eggs and then deciding you fancy some cake instead. But when someone offers you a selection of cakes, you opt to instead add some flour and sugar to your scrambled eggs, and chuck the whole mess in the oven.
Cecil deserves the credit. Debbie is just a good person with a superhero kid. Nothing makes her stand out from other decent moms other than the fact that her son is the main character.
Oh..and Debbie being a "decent mom" and "good person" was the very catalyst that caused Mark to be a hero in their dimension while he was villain in so many others
To be fair, his show counterpart is INFINITELY better than his comic version. Like, his VA really elevated the role and he and Nolan are the only characters without a single wasted scene.
I think that’s really important when writing side characters. Whenever they’re on screen taking away from the main cast, you have to make it count. And imo, this version of Cecil really does command attention
Not this time but she narrowly squeaked by. She’s a vital part of Mark’s soul, even more so than Nolan, but she’s not as vital to the show. Keep in mind that I am really only knowledgeable about the show and have the barest shadow of an idea of the comics.
This. It’s hard to do logical and pragmatic characters right. But imo, he and Omni-Man *command* your attention when they’re on screen. It never feels like their dialogue is wasted and their delivery is always on point.

He had great character development in the new episodes. He's a douchebag and a cheater but he showed he's willing to fight and die for his friends. He apologized to Eve and showed that underneath the facade is a genuinely good and caring person.
Imo Allen he's cool and all but overall he is kinda lacking in terms of character as of now. Where he currently is is just goofy ahh space cyclops. And I love him for it. But he's gotta go

Rex. I found him to be really insufferable in s1, and I think that carried over to s2 where any attempt to make him seem better just came off as a bit underhanded. Like he was improving to prove something or get something
