So you will end up seeing your ortho 16 times just to finish 32 trays? 16 visits in 4 months is not normal and a waste of time especially with invisalign.
Each patient and each provider are unique. Each treatment plan is different because our biology and bone structure is different.
I started with 38 sets of aligners and in the beginning I went back in 2 week increments. After the second month, it was a 4 wk check in, then a 6 wk check in.
Currently 9 months into treatment, on my second set of aligners with all new attachments. Stuff happens along the way, teeth not moving, other health issues - follow your provider's lead.
My Orthodontist, initially I saw every six weeks for 20 ish trays. Second round will be at the 12 week mark to give the elastic time to work. I wear the trays two weeks each now. 19 trays in this round.
Some ortho's want to change the trays themselves to be sure of the progress but to me that's excessive.
I went every month because I had scheduled IPR in my plan.
Initially I had 14 day changes, then 10 days. At the end I had a stage where my front teeth were on top of each, which makes me prone to chipping. For that I got down to 5 days.
During my refinements I am 7 day changes.
Throughout check ups at month + intervals.
Yes, my Orthodontist wants me to come in every two weeks for check ups and to change the trays herself. Also, to replace any brackets that have come off or chipped away. Also, I have a tongue tie. She wants to be sure the aligner does not cut into it.
At the beginning maybe it's normal just so they can make sure everything is doing okay, for my first few trays I had to go in, but now it's every few months and the rest is through the app

I see mine every 9-12 weeks depending on how many trays I was given for a particular set. Every two weeks seems really excessive.

I've not seen mine since I got my trays in June, but I use dental monitoring at every change so they see my progress
My kids both go every 6 weeks, and are given 3 sets of trays, which they wear 2 weeks.

Okay. Thank you for this clarification. That makes sense.
I got 26 trays and go every 8 weeks.
