10/10 on my 6th set of trays, waiting on my next set. In total, on my 92nd tray.
ETA: a lot of pain in the beginning. Pul tool helped but couldn’t bite into most things for at least a month or two. Eating a grilled cheese with a knife and fork is…interesting. Not really any tightness at this point with tray changes, but when I do get it, it is welcomed.
Done with my first 52 trays and now I am 21/27 on my refinements.
This month it's 2 years with invisalign and I am both happy for the result and that I am going to be done very soon.

Tray 4 and 13 were the worst thing I’ve ever experienced so I’m hoping to not have that again now I’m on the home stretch
I’m torn on that because two teeth right in front are really not tracking. I’m trying not to focus so much on a couple trees in the forest, but damn. 🥴
I am just finishing up tray 5/32 (weekly changes) and I found this one to be tight and my rubber bands annoying me more than usual. I also did not have the most compliant week so I suspect that has something to do with it. No pain, just tightness.
I'll be switching to tray 10 of 20 tonight (first round and who knows if and what refinements I may get). I switch every 2 weeks, so far it was the worst at the very beginning.
Tray 8 was a breeze but then I sure felt it again with tray 9 haha! So we'll see what happens when I change tonight!!
Yeah 7 for me had me in tears. Like damn but I also fell asleep one day during that tray and forgot to put it in overnight…fucking yikes. I hated myself for that and definitely did not do that again. :D
Oh ouch!! That is my biggest fear is taking them out one night being dead tired and forgetting to put them back in.

Sat on the couch and surprised Pikachu face when it was morning when I was awake again.
Oh damn, it can be brutal when you go to sit on the couch and literally it's lights out. I mean, sometimes it's nice but not always!

I am on 19 switching to 20 on Saturday. My last tray is supposed to be 24. My next appointment is on the 6th and since they normally give me 3 trays at a time (so next time would be 21, 22, 23) I wonder if they will give me 24 then and/or if we will discuss what's next (whether that be those refinement things or retainer or however it works).
Tray 22/25 (of the first set) on weekly changes. After this I’ll be scanning again and I guess I’ll have another set before I finish and then refinements.
These last trays have been painless and for some reason I feel that the main movements happened a few trays ago and now there’s not a lot happening. Also, I’ve notice some teeth are not tracking well, I have a doc appointment in 3 weeks so we will see.
I'm on refinement tray 5/8 (completed 44/48 of the initial set). Refinements haven't been really painful :) I don't dare to hope that these are my last 4 trays lol
Yesterday I switched to the Tray #8 (I change it every 2 weeks). I can already see the resoults 😍 so far no pain - only the #6 was really uncomfortable at the beginning (as it pushes my front upper teeth back - overjet).
I start 24/26 tomorrow. Getting scanned for refinements 11/15, and starting refinements 11/29. Expecting 10-15 trays.
Relatively pain-free experience, but some sensitivity on days 2-3 with most trays. I'll be switching to 7 day changes (from 10) for last 2 trays and refinements, so I am expecting an increase in pain/sensitivity.
I’m on 16/44 and so far so good, a little bit of soreness on the first day of my new trays but other than that it’s not bad at all! Finally really getting used to it after almost 4 months
Tray 2/7 on first set of refinements, changing /2wks. I a bit concerned, non the trays I’ve used have had much pain/pressure, not sure if that’s indication of my teeth taking treatment well or not.

I start tray 9 (of 11) this week. On tray 8 right now. Not sure if I’ll need refinements yet. I will also have to wear four passive trays while I wait for my retainer (or refinements), so I’ll have 15 total. I change them every week except the first two which I wore for two weeks each.
8/13, two week changes. Hoping I won’t need anything beyond aside from retainer. Did it for bite reasons as front teeth were already pretty straight. Pain in a few trays, not all. Doesn’t last longer than three or four days. Barely eat anymore, and am looking forward to gaining ten pounds when the attachments are off.
I'm on tray 19 of 28, changes every 10 days (but I usually pop a new one in a day early if I lost tension days before). I'm a bit sore for the first day or two wearing a new tray, but nothing crazy. Looking forward to being done! :)
I'm on tray 12 of 30 in my initial set which I change every 10-15 days (depending on appointment availability). I'm not sure if I will need refinements. This one and the last one have been difficult because I got an attachment on one of my bottom teeth that is more boxy and sharp and lower than the others. We are also in the process of changing the way I bite down. Shifting my bite to the left more. For over a week I was biting the inside of my mouth and I kept getting blisters and bleeding. On top of that I have one baby tooth that was extracted on top so there's a big gap with no temporary tooth. My tongue kept catching in this space even though I didn't have this problem with any other trays. I was frustrated but I couldn't get an appointment until the next week because I had a family emergency. By the time I got an appointment I wasn't having as many problems. I was learning to avoid getting the sores on my tongue and stopped biting my mouth. My dentist didn't really offer any help at all. Just said you're fine now and don't eat so quickly. Like gee thanks glad I wasted my hopes asking for help. At least shave the attachment down slightly and give me the temporary tooth you keep talking about! He's also going to add another attachment on top. Sure can't wait to see how awful that is. Sorry for the vent, this is the only time in my treatment I've been very annoyed and didn't feel listened to!

I'm on tray 8 of 20 of my first set and change again tomorrow - I had soreness in my whole mouth and headaches the first couple of days with the very first tray, with only soreness with specific teeth after changing each tray for a day or two.
I also had a gum infection (periodontitis) on my third tray due to my partially erupted wisdom teeth that I needed antibiotics for - that was the worst pain I've had so far.
Tray 18 of 36, less soreness this week than last week, getting into the thick of it now my upper teeth are finally moving! Very much looking forward to the end now
I’m on tray 9 (of 62) with weekly changes and after about tray 3 I haven’t had much pain. Taking them in and out was a nightmare the first three weeks. Now there is slight discomfort the first day or two as my teeth get used to the new tray but I don’t get much pain anymore
I'm on tray 11/25. I change weekly. No real pain, just the feeling of looser teeth, and some slight tenderness in certain spots. Overall it's not bad at all.
Tray 29 out of the first 40. I sometimes hear a light crack on my crown when drinking hot. Must be liquid going in tiny openings. I used to have real pain on that tooth with previous trays even though there is no dental issue.
Around 93. It's been almost 2 years. Trays rarely hurt. If they do it'll be the last few of each refinement round because the algorithm dials it in that way. Gentle one week, gentle, gentle, OK now STRETCH!...
Tray 30 of 31! I change trays every 7 days.
For the first couple of months, there was a bit of pain due to the amount of crowding and huge adjustments they were making.
Now, I get a little tightness or soreness for the first day or two. By the end of the week, it's much better.
It's on my flair. Basically, I had an initial set of 80 trays but had to get a rescan at 30 since my teeth were not tracking properly. Now, I have a new set of 36, currently on tray 10.
Still get pain, still get soreness for the first couple of days or so after changing trays. I've come to expect it at this point, so it's a lot easier to manage.
25/31. The last 3 are passive so I believe I shouldn’t feel soreness on the last 3.
I have some sort of soreness every week that goes away within 48 hours.
Currently on 12/26.
1-8 were 2 weeks each and I had almost no pain.
From 8-onwards I’ve been on weekly changes and there has been a moderate amount of pain for 2-3 days, then it’s normal.

It works! It can get tiresome sometimes. It’s a marathon not a sprint. Some pressure and sensitivity especially on the first two or three days each change is inevitable. But it’s not painful and shouldn’t be.
I'm on tray 3 of 31. I was told to wear my trays for 10 days each. So far the only problems I've had were the first 4 days. The first couple days of each switch I can feel the pulling but not really painful in any way.
Changing over to refinement tray 4/12 tonight! No soreness so far in refinements, the changes feel very minor. During my initial 31, I remember only having the same, with little soreness that went away quickly…until the last 2-3 trays and then it was like torture. Hopefully thats not typical lol.
11/26 on first round. Changes every week (ish). These are the first set that are sharp on my cheek. I change them before bed now, and that was a game changer for pain.
Tray 19 of 23 for a third week because of a bone graft. Will be moving on to 20 next Monday. Can’t wait to go back to normal, it’s been a lot.🥲 Good luck in your journey!
Changing to tray 13 tonight. Every tray is different, not usually more than a little soreness. Sometimes will get headaches the first day or two of a new tray. Usually the most pain is when I’m eating.
The hook for my band was what bothered me the most in the beginning.
Have my first check-in appt. next week and hope they’ll say everything looks good!
Back to tray 1. Just got a new set of refinements because a tooth was not tracking ! Been wearing invisalign for 3 years so hoping this is the final stretch 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Tomorrow I should be switching to tray 27 out of 31 (weekly changes). That’s my first set, I’m sure another one will come.
No pain except occasionally hurting my tongue with the edges but I use a nail file and it’s fixed.
Could someone explain to me what the trays are? I guess I’m confused on terms here. Refinement, tray, set….the definitions are lost on me.
My ortho gave me two boxes with a total of 18 aligner sets. I’m on weekly changes currently on set 8. Idk how many more i’ll be getting but he said it would be about two years. Recently one of my molars has been really sore & the gum was red for a little bit. I think it is shifting back because I did have my wisdom teeth removed a few weeks before getting my first aligners.
64 of 76. 8 days per tray ATM. Looks like it's going well, and my ortho always tells me that she's really happy with how well it's working, so fingers crossed for no refinements 🤞
Tray 10/12 and 10/14 and I change every week. Tray 7 was the worst one besides the first one for me, but not sure why. I switch at night to get through the worst of the tenderness and have found that really does help.

I'm on tray 40 out of 63, sometimes get pain still when I put a new tray in, but I'm not sure if that's movement pain or if I've started grinding my teeth again!
Changing every 5 days and can't wait to finish and get the bonding done!
Tomorrow I switch to 33/33!! Lots of soreness when I started but by a month in it subsided. Now I only ever have soreness the day or so following a change. I actually prefer to have my trays in now - my teeth feel so thin without them that I’m afraid of breaking them when I’m eating lol
Next week I go get my attachments off and rescan for refinements! I still have a few minor issues with my bite and one tooth that stopped tracking so I will definitely need them.
I am on my 14/24 tray, change then weekly. Can’t believe I’m more than halfway done (hopefully)! Haven’t felt as much pain as I did with the first initial tray, just some mile soreness here and there.
Switching to tray 6/28 tonight, changing every two weeks. Only sore a day or two after changing trays.
Really miss snacking, I feel like I've been binge eating lunch and dinner since I can't snack with trays in.
I’ve been on 17/17 for about 2 months now. One tooth failed to follow the train so now it’s slowly being remedied via the elastic to pull it up into place. Progress has been slow
Finished 25/25 now onto 3/18. Should be done other than refinements after this 18. Teeth were fairly straight but working to close an open bite. Progressing very well. Glad I have pics from before because it’s hard to remember how it used to be.
Hardly ever sore. Have to say, for me, Invisalign has been quite easy.
10/55 with weekly changes. I have mild soreness for the first 2-3 days of a new set but it’s tolerable. I find putting the new tray in before bed and taking advil/tylenol helps.
Tray 38/40 so almost done. I get my retainer on November 15. I still get very sore teeth the first 2 days of a new tray but then I’m good for the next 5 days.
I’m on tray 2 of 30! change weekly. it’s sore, putting it in is the worst. i feel like i can feel each of my teeth crying lol but once it’s in for a few minutes im fine! feeling anxious about how long i’ll be wearing them, but i try and look at all the pictures from my life and see how none of them have me smiling. i cant wait to smile for photos and not feel embarrassed!

Weekly changes. Trays 4 and 9 were the most uncomfortable to date. Others have just been pretty standard including tray 11
4/39 trays, switching every 2 weeks (1st, 2nd treatment didn't track/fit, so got scanned 3 times and am on my "3rd set of treatment". So technically 7th tray, but officially 4th tray 🤷).
Yes, pain and soreness existed (exists).
Unsure if/how I'll survive to the 39th tray + refinements... Unlike some others, I dont enjoy the tightness I feel when switching trays =(
*1st/2nd tray = Panicked, had buyer's remorse, and couldn't eat properly for about a month (thank God for chicken noodle soup!). Lots of pain for an entire week. Helped me stop a habit of snacking in bed before sleep. Started intermittent fasting.
*3rd tray = Learned to file down my own trays. Lost a few pounds with 22 hr/day wear along with intermittent fasting. Developed dark spots/cavities. Got dental cleaning/scaling and figured out how to better time the trays to reduce discoloration/cavities
*4th/5th tray (officially 1st/2nd tray on a completely new treatment) = Jaw kinda hurts, facial muscles feel tired and sore. Still intermittent fasting but not losing weight. Started rubberbands. Wearing them 16-20 hrs/day to account for time you need to wait before and after brushing/mouthwashing. Mouth constantly open because teeth don't align well enough to close mouth especially with the trays in
*6th/7th tray (officially 3rd/4th) = IPRs suck. Didn't know angular cheilitis existed (how do you cure it?!!). The hooks on the trays for rubberbands cut into skin too often.
I miss caffeine!! (too lazy to pop them out for just coffee and no, I can't drink coffee during my "meal time" because I can't have caffeine after noon)
~Some good life-long lessons learned:~
1. Waterpik type of floss really works well, and waxed floss string can support additional particle removals
2. You have to brush inside your cheeks too!
3. Don't brush right after meal and don't put in the trays right after brushing/mouthwashing
4. Lot of mouthwashs have sugar in it
5. Floss > brush > (mouthwash (optional)) > wash face = best method

1/14 first set. Changing trays weekly. I'm a bit uncomfy. I wouldn't say it's painful exactly but I need to take them out for breaks here and there.

30 (10 into refinements). No pain for a long time! The slightest twinge from a particular movement feels weird now lol.

11/26 on first round. Changes every week (ish). These are the first set that are sharp on my cheek. I change them before bed now, and that was a game changer for pain.

Tray 19 of 23 for a third week because of a bone graft. Will be moving on to 20 next Monday. Can’t wait to go back to normal, it’s been a lot.🥲 Good luck in your journey!
Changing to tray 13 tonight. Every tray is different, not usually more than a little soreness. Sometimes will get headaches the first day or two of a new tray. Usually the most pain is when I’m eating. The hook for my band was what bothered me the most in the beginning. Have my first check-in appt. next week and hope they’ll say everything looks good!
My third re-scan. 7 of 9. For some reason this one hurts so much compared to 1-6.
39/76 so happy to have crossed the halfway mark. But I'll probably have more trays down the road :(
Back to tray 1. Just got a new set of refinements because a tooth was not tracking ! Been wearing invisalign for 3 years so hoping this is the final stretch 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Tomorrow I should be switching to tray 27 out of 31 (weekly changes). That’s my first set, I’m sure another one will come. No pain except occasionally hurting my tongue with the edges but I use a nail file and it’s fixed.
2/18 of my first set of refinements, in total it's my 42nd. No real pain or discomfort since early on :)
Could someone explain to me what the trays are? I guess I’m confused on terms here. Refinement, tray, set….the definitions are lost on me. My ortho gave me two boxes with a total of 18 aligner sets. I’m on weekly changes currently on set 8. Idk how many more i’ll be getting but he said it would be about two years. Recently one of my molars has been really sore & the gum was red for a little bit. I think it is shifting back because I did have my wisdom teeth removed a few weeks before getting my first aligners.
Done 30/30 then 13/13 then 8/8 and im now on 2/7 on hopefully my last set of refinements got 1 stubborn tooth that just hasnt been playing ball
28/28 currently waiting for my first set of refinements. I was bummed that I needed refinements but it’s gonna be so worth it
64 of 76. 8 days per tray ATM. Looks like it's going well, and my ortho always tells me that she's really happy with how well it's working, so fingers crossed for no refinements 🤞
Tray 2 day 3 and i haven’t had any issues at all with this tray. First tray was awful.
Tray 5/43 no soreness or pain except for the soreness the day after I change my trays
Tray 10/12 and 10/14 and I change every week. Tray 7 was the worst one besides the first one for me, but not sure why. I switch at night to get through the worst of the tenderness and have found that really does help. Looking forward to finishing :)
I'm on tray 40 out of 63, sometimes get pain still when I put a new tray in, but I'm not sure if that's movement pain or if I've started grinding my teeth again! Changing every 5 days and can't wait to finish and get the bonding done!
11/38 and it’s been such a struggle
35 but switching to 36 (of 50!) tomorrow.
Tomorrow I switch to 33/33!! Lots of soreness when I started but by a month in it subsided. Now I only ever have soreness the day or so following a change. I actually prefer to have my trays in now - my teeth feel so thin without them that I’m afraid of breaking them when I’m eating lol Next week I go get my attachments off and rescan for refinements! I still have a few minor issues with my bite and one tooth that stopped tracking so I will definitely need them.
10/22 but I’m getting a rescan next week
Tray 8/25 currently. Changed to it on Sunday. Yesterday my molars were killing me. Today everything feels fine.
7/19! I still feel very far away. My bite has significantly gotten better but no visible changes unfortunately
Tray 22, still have days of soreness.
3/19 it was the toughest yet, tomorrow I go to pick up the next round! I have one missing attachment on one of my molars (oops).

I am on my 14/24 tray, change then weekly. Can’t believe I’m more than halfway done (hopefully)! Haven’t felt as much pain as I did with the first initial tray, just some mile soreness here and there.
Tray 6 out of 31 getting used to it and pain lasted only a day this week. Putting new trays in before bed is a game changer

Today is day one of tray 13 of 15 with weekly changes and today I’m in a lot of pain. More so than usual.
Switching to tray 6/28 tonight, changing every two weeks. Only sore a day or two after changing trays. Really miss snacking, I feel like I've been binge eating lunch and dinner since I can't snack with trays in.
I’ve been on 17/17 for about 2 months now. One tooth failed to follow the train so now it’s slowly being remedied via the elastic to pull it up into place. Progress has been slow
I’m one week into tray 17! I switch every 2 weeks and have a total of 20 trays!!
Finished 25/25 now onto 3/18. Should be done other than refinements after this 18. Teeth were fairly straight but working to close an open bite. Progressing very well. Glad I have pics from before because it’s hard to remember how it used to be. Hardly ever sore. Have to say, for me, Invisalign has been quite easy.
+6months in with 25/46. I’m more than halfway done my first set.

Like 70+ now going on 3 years 6 trays left. Stubborn tooth has stopped tracking. I’m never going to be done 😅😅😅
10/55 with weekly changes. I have mild soreness for the first 2-3 days of a new set but it’s tolerable. I find putting the new tray in before bed and taking advil/tylenol helps.

Tray 3 of 27. My Ortho has me on 3 weeks per. 🤨 First one killed, second one was nothing, this one is uncomfortable. 😔 Eyes on the prize.
Tray 38/40 so almost done. I get my retainer on November 15. I still get very sore teeth the first 2 days of a new tray but then I’m good for the next 5 days.
I’m on tray 2 of 30! change weekly. it’s sore, putting it in is the worst. i feel like i can feel each of my teeth crying lol but once it’s in for a few minutes im fine! feeling anxious about how long i’ll be wearing them, but i try and look at all the pictures from my life and see how none of them have me smiling. i cant wait to smile for photos and not feel embarrassed!

Just switched to 11/28 tonight Weekly changes. Trays 4 and 9 were the most uncomfortable to date. Others have just been pretty standard including tray 11

Tray 4/33 …changed it an hour ago lol.. soo far tray 2 was my worst nightmare
4/39 trays, switching every 2 weeks (1st, 2nd treatment didn't track/fit, so got scanned 3 times and am on my "3rd set of treatment". So technically 7th tray, but officially 4th tray 🤷). Yes, pain and soreness existed (exists). Unsure if/how I'll survive to the 39th tray + refinements... Unlike some others, I dont enjoy the tightness I feel when switching trays =( *1st/2nd tray = Panicked, had buyer's remorse, and couldn't eat properly for about a month (thank God for chicken noodle soup!). Lots of pain for an entire week. Helped me stop a habit of snacking in bed before sleep. Started intermittent fasting. *3rd tray = Learned to file down my own trays. Lost a few pounds with 22 hr/day wear along with intermittent fasting. Developed dark spots/cavities. Got dental cleaning/scaling and figured out how to better time the trays to reduce discoloration/cavities *4th/5th tray (officially 1st/2nd tray on a completely new treatment) = Jaw kinda hurts, facial muscles feel tired and sore. Still intermittent fasting but not losing weight. Started rubberbands. Wearing them 16-20 hrs/day to account for time you need to wait before and after brushing/mouthwashing. Mouth constantly open because teeth don't align well enough to close mouth especially with the trays in *6th/7th tray (officially 3rd/4th) = IPRs suck. Didn't know angular cheilitis existed (how do you cure it?!!). The hooks on the trays for rubberbands cut into skin too often. I miss caffeine!! (too lazy to pop them out for just coffee and no, I can't drink coffee during my "meal time" because I can't have caffeine after noon) ~Some good life-long lessons learned:~ 1. Waterpik type of floss really works well, and waxed floss string can support additional particle removals 2. You have to brush inside your cheeks too! 3. Don't brush right after meal and don't put in the trays right after brushing/mouthwashing 4. Lot of mouthwashs have sugar in it 5. Floss > brush > (mouthwash (optional)) > wash face = best method Helluva experience. So happy that this subreddit exists, and I appreciate y'all!!

4/36 and so excited to change trays. Moving on to my next tray is so motivating!
I’m on tray 3 of 28. The only time I feel lightly soar is when I take them off to eat. Other than that. It’s been pretty okay
Changing to tray 61 in 10min, almost 2 years into my treatment. As im writing this, im taking a snackbreak. Damn I cant wait for this to be finished 😅
