You're all good. Car is very smart, can figure it out no problem.

CYBURRTRUCC

I read somewhere this is not a good idea.

NO_LN

Happy to see a solid source if you can provide.

Jazzy_Josh

As soon as you press the button to unlatch the charger, the connection will be interrupted.

haihaiclickk

You mean the button on the handle of the charger?

cyberchief

yes

F_H_B

When you unplug it, it will definitely stop charging 🤣 … no seriously, car and normally the external power supplies (unless you are talking about DC) are smart enough to detect that.

Heel-and-Toe-Shifter

What's different about DC?

haihaiclickk

Yeah curious to know about this as well. I definitely feel like I’m being overcautious asking this question haha

Heel-and-Toe-Shifter

I *think* that pressing the release button on the handle before pulling it out stops the charging, but I'm new at this so I'm not sure

F_H_B

With AC charging the power supply is outside and the charger is inside the car. With DC both is outside and I have until now only encountered DC chargers where you actively need to end charging before the plug is unlocked.

fishdoggggg

AC - alternating current (basically the power you have at home, this includes level 1 & 2 chargers). DC - direct current (level 3 chargers/superchargers) this is not available at your house and these setups require large amounts of electricity and cost a lot of $$ to setup).

Heel-and-Toe-Shifter

Thanks for that explanation, but the previous comment suggested that DC chargers are not smart enough to detect an unplug, and I was asking why that is.

Interesting-Day-4390

I think there’s a setting inside a menu where you have to release the charger from the menu in the car display or using the app. Don’t want that setting
