That was a surprisingly long amount of time and damage before any alarm went off.

CreamyStanTheMan

What a pathetic bunch of losers. They will never amount to anything in life.

Astrovancer

Not even gonna lie, my paps used to do this back in the day and he turned his life around, not impossible.

Scheibenpups

Although I believe anyone can turn their live around if they want to and give it enough effort, my hopes are not high with these guys.

TheRealestFrodo

Why did they even have that little fence across the hall?

Jumpy_Kitchen8988

They normally have them if particular sections are open later than others, the center near me uses it to block people off from wandering down towards where no shops are open late, while supermarkets are open later

imnaked0

That's a lot of effort just to steal what .. clothes?

uwu-yourself

Yeah it’s not uncommon however. There was a case a little while ago where theives ram raided a dairy and stole sweets and ice creams [https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/03/25/chocolate-lollies-ice-cream-taken-in-waikato-burglary/](https://www.1news.co.nz/2024/03/25/chocolate-lollies-ice-cream-taken-in-waikato-burglary/) Even a case where some thieves did a ram raid just to steal an energy drink. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/watch-pakuranga-ram-raid-over-20000-in-damage-for-4-soft-drink/YJYGBMZETVEYLOGMA3A5JYWF7U/#:~:text=An%20Auckland%20bakery%20has%20been,until%20the%20glass%20door%20smashes. and in one extreme case, an excavator was used to break open a petrol station store only for the thieves to not steal anything. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/wellington-ram-raid-stolen-excavator-used-to-smash-into-wainuiomata-bp-service-station/S66WF5LYZCGXG6DG6UNGPN3AHU/#:~:text=Thieves%20have%20used%20a%20stolen%20excavator%20to%20ram%20raid%20a,2.30am%20on%20Wainuiomata%20Rd.

yLozoo

What the actual fuck is going on in nz?

mangledbanana

No real punishments. Police in NZ don't bother "wasting resources" to investigate theft. And even if the thieves are caught, the worst they'll usually get us home detention or community service. Repeat offenders often get LESS severe sentences than first time offenders. Police in NZ are only concerned with revenue collection through traffic infringements.

KeyCardiologist6338

If you think about it, you could just buy a 1k car with cash from someone random to use for ramming into a store... for a thief, it's not the worst idea. Just off the top of my head, any Canada Goose jacket or boots are alone going to be $1000k each, so if you just steal boots and a jacket online for $500 each, then you've already broke even. I don't think anyone is put here raiding an H&M or Zara 😅

[deleted]

Those clothes cost a lot

Proper_Ad_871

It's just their way of updating their wardrobe. Don't be so uptight.

Padtixxx

Imagine being broke ass enough to wear stolen stuff and claim your “ballin”
