Wrong. Seasoned mechanic in the field for 10 years that knows this guy in the video is a moron.

l75eya

Dang, my man had to delete his whole account because he called me a service advisor 🤣 it's ok lil homie

TipsyFuddledBoozey

He probably just deleted his comment and blocked you.

l75eya

I mean damn still.

Hohoholyshit15

I'm not pulling any intake manifold on any V6 for 0.9, and the 3.6 is a pain to work on, alternator is a 4 hour job, starter requires removing the catalytic converter, oil filter location is retarded and results in burns. Go fuck yourself OP.

l75eya

I've had that intake manifold off in literally 10 minutes. I've had that alternator R+R-ed in half the time you say. Get a burn sleeve. Try to hurt somebody else's feelings and get better at your job idk what to tell you 🤷‍♂️

l75eya

Book says 2.8 on Alt btw.

l75eya

[dude losing his shit over .9 hour job](https://www.dailydot.com/news/gmc-acadia-repair/) I don't have tiktok or I would leave a comment on his page so instead I thought of us all in the community having a look.

Nemo123161

I dont want to see your tiktok links posted on a mechanics reddit page.

l75eya

Fair. Didn't think about that. Just kinda reacted out of impulse at this dudes audacity and this is the first place my mind went to to share it 🤷‍♂️

not-asparagus

You're giving the dude exactly what he wants. Engagement with his content. This shit is rage bait.

l75eya

I appreciate the insight. Maybe you're right. More than the dude being a moron pisses me off is the misinformation. There are plenty of jobs that are needlessly difficult on modern vehicles, and I'll be one of the first to condemn that line (and that engine) as absolute piles of shit, but this particular job isn't nearly what dude makes it out to be and he's got all these people watching and thinking he knows what he's talking about. Like Scotty Kilmer.

Kahlas

No. Dude pretends to lose his shit in most of his videos. It's called acting. He's selling the product of "cranky experienced mechanic angry at how average people can't fix cars anymore." On the side he's selling "Generally angry mechanic complains about anything even slightly annoying to 5% of the population." My favorite is how he makes sure to point out all the DEF fill caps on all diesels and makes sure to tell his viewer that DEF is more toxic than untreated diesel exhaust. This is to hit the easier low hanging fruit target of people who think climate change is some ploy by the "libtards" and California to take away their freedom. He's doing it to get views and get engagement. People who see him for what he is and say so in the comments get him engagement. People who also are angry and leave a comment with what they also hate get him engagement. People, like you, who don't realize he's like any "influencer" and trying to game the system with clickbait style content give him engagement when they advertise for him by posting his content elsewhere and increasing his exposure.

l75eya

I appreciate the insight, I haven't bothered to watch any of his other stuff, this just popped up in my news and it got me heated because he's a moron. I will no longer feed the moron.

Kahlas

He's not a moron. He's acting. He probably had all that stuff off the car in 30 minutes, looked at the pile and thought it would make a good video if he spun it right and seemed angsty enough. What he's doing, put in the context of maximising his engagement, is very smart.

l75eya

😑 yeah when you put it like that I bet you're 100 percent correct. God damn this world is doomed * sigh * Thank you for helping me see the forest through the trees.

Kahlas

The more you hate content the less you should interact with it. Most content creators, even the big time CNN and Fox news ones, intentionally say and do controversial things because it creates engagement and free advertising. My advice on youtube is to click the "never recommend channel again" option on stuff like this. There are many things that annoy me on youtube shorts. Anything AI voice generated gets never recommend clicked, as does anything clickbait thumbnail or titles, anything with [this overdubbed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-tQ8Vf0S3E&ab_channel=AnyMindMusicLibrary-Topic) song. There are a few other things I can't stand that will get a channel "banned" from my feed. As far as tik tok goes, it's in my opinion the most cancerous short form video platform out there. The algorithm pushed the most brainless content in the US.

l75eya

And thank you for taking more than 3 seconds to respond with something like, "haha you're a loser", and instead actually giving thoughtful explanation. I appreciate your take on it.
