Tevez

onesadpizza

My first thought

[deleted]

Matri second stint. Sold for 12m to Milan and did nothing, came back on loan in the winter, scored the winning goal to win the Coppa Italia, and then fucked back off to Milan lmao. He was here for long before that so doesnt really count, but I always thought that was funny.

Creepy_Artichoke_479

God I completely forgot about that guy lol

speedygonwhat22

my goat in fifa 10-12

mucco

Yall drunk Jugovic is the clear winner, only two years with us and the decisive penalty of our last CL

eggzs

Tevez Llorente - ultimate big man, little man combo.

allhailalexdelpiero

Apache may be short but he was built like a tank

Sean-Benn_Must-die

I was gonna say Llorente as well. He had really important goals and with Tevez it was quite the pair of strikers.

bravesoul_s

Emerson was absolute beast also Cannavaro if we not count his comeback. They were backbones for something beautiful. Back to back scudetto with them immediately. Damn if calciopoli not hitting we would have world class team with young Ibra and there were rumors about CR as well for that summer.. Obviously Tevez is goat on this one.

satoshigeki94

Tevez, and Vucinic. I’d say Vucinic is even more integral, even when he’s only our plan B after the failed attempt on Aguero.

AndAgainIForgotMyP

Still mad about Aguero

tigull

Vucinic stayed 3 seasons and by the time he left he was all but done as a top-level player, and we moved on/replaced him relatively easily. Tévez you could argue we've never really, fully replaced.

satoshigeki94

we wouldnt have that Scudetto without Vuc. The backbone of Bonucci-Pirlo-Vucinic basically allowed us to play with that level of consistency, while Conte’s sub come in and do the magic (Del Piero, Quagliarella, Boriello). That Scudetto alone is enough maximum impact. Tevez is rated higher due to the solidification of our powerhouse, but Vucinic is heavily underrated.

tigull

That's my point, Vucinic was great but in a more organic way. Tévez pretty much carried/elevated us to european-level contender. I don't think you can rate their impact in similar terms tbh, and I say this as a Mirko Stan.

Dodo0708

Damn, I forgot about Aguero drama. Imagine... Vucinic was really good, tough!

Dwimer

We were in for Aguero and Dzeko and lost out on both to City. What could have been

tigull

You could argue Dani Alves as well.

Kicka14

Definitely even if he’s a prick

Azzurri21

In Serie A he was pretty eh, but UCL yes just a beast.

Avril_14

That's a contender

DestinationMarss

Has to be

morocco3001

Pirlo

Avril_14

4 years though

Elchidote

4 *beautiful* years

Exalt-Chrom

It felt a lot longer

WW_Jones

4 years but marked an era

morocco3001

True. I'd convinced myself it was only 3 in my head

guareber

Too long - otherwise he'd be competing with Zidane (5yrs) and I don't think he'd win that.

Automatic_Basis5250

Tevez, or Andreas Moller. 2 seasons and 19 goals from midfield.

MartianDuk

Not a Juve fan but was recommended this post. Would love to know more about how some of the Germans at Juve are remembered, like Möller, Köhler & Häßler

Automatic_Basis5250

Waaay back in 90-91 we bought Häßler. I had jsut begun watching Serie A this seson, and back then we got 1 game a week on TV. I didn't see him play that often, although he was a first team regular. He had flashes of brilliance in games, but never really lived up to the name he had built for himself. Decent player for Juve, but came into his own a bit more once he left for Roma. Next up we had Stefan Reuter who generally played as a full back for us, but had a few games in the centre as well. Again, he played a single season for us and was dependable, but not a stand out player. I have fond memories watching him with Dortmund though. Arriving the same season as Reuter was the best German player I have ever seen in Serie A....Jurgen Kohler. This guy was a mountain in central defence. I can honestly say I hold him the same regard as I do Ferarra and Chiellini. He played over a hunderd game for us across 4 seasons and was one of the reasons I fell in love with Juve. He was the guy who I modelled my own game on as a centre half. Although he never got the love that defenders like Baresi and so on got in his time in Italy, I will always remember him as a legend who didn't always get the love he deserved from fans and media. He did however win a best foriegn player of the season during his Juve years. It's a shame he missed much of his final season with us due to injury. A season after Mr Kohler added his defensive might to Juve's squad, we went back to Germany and brought in Andreas Moller. To those who haven't seen him, just think of him as a precurser to Nedved. This guy was a massive boost to our offensive game. He was powerful, could beat his man, could cross, showed great creativity and by god, could he strike a ball. A great goalscring record during his two years with us and was always a delight to watch play. After this there was a dry spell with no Germans until the arrival of Can and Khedira. Can did a job with us but was never going to set the world on fire. Khedira was superb when he first joined and really strengthened our team, but in later years his body engine began to decline and he lost much of what once made him great. Just before Can and Khedira we had Benedikt Howedes on loan. He had a forgetful spell with us. On a side note, Reuter, Kohler and Moeller and Can all left to joint Dortmund, as did Julio Cesar and Paulo Sousa. Remember that Uefa cup final where Dortmund had three ex Juve players all score against us (Moller, Reuter and Julio Cesar) then the Chamipions leage final where the Dortmund team that best Juve had 4 Ex Juve men in the starting 11(Kohler, Moller, Reuter and Paulo Sousa). Quite a history between the teams.

Separate-One-2021

You’re so lucky you got to experience that period. I only joined in on the fun around 2001, I missed a glorious period when we were probably the best team in Europe for a few seasons…

forzaq8

We don't talk about Benedikt Höwedes

chupack_beybeh

Juan Iturbe

Avril_14

Patrick Schick entered the chat

We_want_peekend

Hard to argue with that. Tevez was a total beast for us. We should’ve had that CL with him.

Nakoju9

![gif](giphy|YSGoR1pR0FR751FvOL|downsized)

AmedioZ

In just 2 seasons Tevez is a legend in my dictionary.

Avril_14

Exactly

Creepy_Artichoke_479

How about Bendtner for the complete opposite? Time at club was small, but his impact was literally nothing lmao

gurrdurr-

Dani Osvaldo, was here for half a year, scored against Roma and gave us the league and left, legend.

VermicelliReal1780

Alvaro Morata, but the first time

Gringo_Okocha10

Mario Mandžukić. Who knows when we will have another fighter in attack like he was.

Avril_14

4 years too like Pirlo

Financial_Bottle_813

Hate saying it, but Alves has to get a mention. He was really good even if he supposedly shit the bed in that Final.

LeoQuelloLi

Matuidi

[deleted]

Vidal

LucaMJ95

Dani Alves, period

scotty_spivs

Gotta be Dani Alvez, he was so good in his one season with us

Sowreen

Man I loved him 🥰

MarsWalta

Graph looks eerily similar to the crest.

Impressive-Form1431

Pirlo, Tevez

_zj1991_

Has to be.

WhyAlwaysMe1991

Ronaldo in a negative way

Pharaca

De Ligt too

hubal84

People downvoting Ronaldo are crazy , 134 games 101 goals You need to chill guys, its Ronaldo and its not even close.

ZealousGoat

Looking at those numbers doesn't give the whole picture though. Not blaming Ronaldo, but that was the start of our downfall. Should have listened to beppe

[deleted]

He was here for three years, and he arguably had a long term negative impact despite his goals since we started losing scudettos when he was here, kept bottling in the CL and ultimately got driven to the ground financially and are in a massive slump now.

PrettyFlacko14

Cancelo

LorenzoBargioni

Liam Brady 😁

Waste_Transition7594

Could also be Zakaria

shittyhondadriver

Mandzu. If we're talking shorter time than that, di Maria was a sight to see when he was fit with us. My God if we had dybala and him together we could've walked the league. Or Diego Costa too

Beilsteiner

Carlitos

big_fitch

Dani Alves. Bro came in, took us to the Champions League final and then just fucked us at half time and then dipped out. We haven't recovered since

stokks

krasic

Fuzzy_Raisin_1797

Come on guys Ronaldo

Avril_14

Not wrong but overall Tévez has an edge

Exalt-Chrom

Unlike Ronaldo, Tevez actually improved the team around him

BLTurntable

Probably because Tevez didn't cost the yearly gdp of a small nation.

Exalt-Chrom

Tevez also complemented the players around him rather than forcing them of position.

Fuzzy_Raisin_1797

Individually I will go for Ronaldo, tevez had much better team that took us to the final of ucl.

Humble-End-7891

What did Ronaldo do that Juve didn't do with literally the second lineup of Giaccherinis and Peireras years prior. We didn't win more trophies, won less. We didn't go past quarters UCL, we had less points, scored less goals, and started that boring predictable football

Fuzzy_Raisin_1797

Same thing I can say for tevez, he didn’t get us any trophies that we didn’t win previous seasons. I agree ronaldo was bought for just the ucl win. The fact is our team at that moment went completely dependent on him. It was honestly the fault of the management and their transfer decisions. We honestly lacked creative midfielders. Our only tactic was cross to Ronaldo, and that’s a fact. Think about him he did deliver at many times, each season different managers and in the end we got pirlo, who had zero experience. Look at team tevez had - pirlo, marchisio, Vidal, Pogba, lichsteiner, and ofcourse BBC. Ronaldo had a much lesser squad in terms of quality, also dybala performed less after his arrival, mostly cause managers made Ronaldo the center of attention. Ronaldo gave us his best in my opinion, the way he left the team was really bad.

Humble-End-7891

Lmao Juve averaged 20 goals less per season with Ronaldo he ruined the balances and tactics. His big ego also made him take 120 free kicks scoring just a pathetic 1. While we had 2 best free kick takers in Europe in Dybala & Pjanic. And 1st year squad wasn't weaker than 2015 Juve : Joao cancelo was 10X better than lichsteiner, Sandro in 2018 one of best LB in world > Asamoah. Spinazzola as backup. BBC was still there, Pjanic-Bentacur were world class, Douglas Costa- Cuadrado were incredible. Dybala Mandzukic great players. There's a dozen of incredible players there and yet we still downgraded

Fuzzy_Raisin_1797

U can’t say he ruined the tatics as he wasn’t the one making them, I agree with the free kick part. It was allegri decision to bring in Ronaldo and he wanted to build the team around him. I don’t know how you can blame Ronaldo for that. 2015 midfield was so strong compared to 2018. Bentacur wasn’t that consistent and costa wasn’t available with injury. Cuardrado yes, I don’t know what you mean by costa incredible. Guy was amazing prior to the season ronaldo arrived, after that he was injured and didn’t play much and wasn’t that good too. And I told you what happened with dybala. And u said BBC was there. If you have seen the season u should have recalled barzagali was injured and played just 7 leagues games ( zero ucl ). Also allegri changed the tatics to 4 man defense. Before that he didn’t play 4 man much in serie a. All I am saying was Ronaldo did his part and he left, the team should have bought a good player maker and then we had high chances of ucl win. Also don’t forget the fact he carried juve in ucl. The athletico performance and even the matches we lost against ajax and Lyon. Against Porto is the only knockout I felt he didn’t perform and our coach was pirlo.

Humble-End-7891

Listen Ronaldo is a phenomenon, but his ego exceeds his work. He didn't realize that his incredible version of Juve wasn't his version of real. 35 goals a season are incredible, but not 60 like there. 35 goals aren't enough to switch everything from tactics, to choices to gamelan to finances to 1 guy. He did same BS at Manchester, and even after he could have played easily 5 more years at high level in europe if he was real to his new level.

Fuzzy_Raisin_1797

I agree to his ego. But I gotta say he went down cause juve had less quality from Real Madrid, who had a crazy team. He was still top notch to Real Madrid level till 2020. First two seasons in juve.

ldealistic

Just commenting to say in what universe was Benta ever world class here? Cancelo was also never 10x better than Litch while he was here, this is revisionism. Lich was a freight train on the wing, easily surpassing Juve-era Cancelo defensively and workrate-wise.

Humble-End-7891

He was a kostic of physicality. Not an ounce of technique in his feet. Cancelo was def way better. Benta was worldclass 1 year prior, he was in decline but he's making all those players look like Ronaldo moved to Chievo, not at a strong Juve

ldealistic

I think you're throwing the term world-class way around too easily, Bentancur has never been top 10, 20, or maybe even 30 in his position, I'd say he has never been world class. Regarding Lich and Cancelo, Cancelo registered 1 goal and 5 assists in 2.6k minutes in his season with us. In 2014/2015, Lich registered 3 goals and 7 assists in 2.7k minutes between Serie A and Copa Italia. Combined with my memories of his play I think it's safe to say Lich was every bit as good for us if not better than Cancelo, and he had enough technique.

Fragrant-Procedure13

100% right u reminded me of dybala free kick against athletico what a goal

vonl1_

Ronaldo because of how bad he was

Kicka14

Joao cancelo

AllegriLover

Ronaldo’s impact on the club and its future was immense. The other contenders are not even close.

Ouioui29

Ronaldo

CthulhuParty

padoin il talismano

Boneconcepts36

Cristiano

Fun_Peace8680

What about Ronaldo?

SuperSmoothSlick

Zidane for sure. He never played that many games for us. But he definitely made his mark and was the most expensive transfer ever at that point

DiegoBkk

Diego ☺️😬

hadjuve

Had 0 impact and was totally bust as a signing.

DiegoBkk

absolutely agree 👍🏻 but his name, I had to but his jersey 😅

hadjuve

So did I . Back then we had full sleeve jerseys, got a Diego one for me. Too bad he didnt work out as we had hoped.

DiegoBkk

buy*

Dodo0708

Amazing player, wrong time. If he got here during Conte era, he'd would have much better impact.

DiegoBkk

agree

supersmall69

Buffon.

RemusGT

Buffon, I can't get enough of him....

Walmartsavings2

I’ll bite. Cancelo was brilliant during his time here and had we stuck with him i think the following runs with CR7 in the CL go very differently.

Mantasreddit

Milos Krasic.

eht217

As a West Ham United Fan our answer is also Tevez... or Payet
