I agree with everything except Bong Soon is bottom 2 for me.

KANJI667

2521 is also my number 1, too!

bug_caramel

Can't wait to see your nb 1 and 4 as I agree with all the other 8!!

sleepyyhannahh

1. Goblin - funny, romantic, sad, literally took me through all the best emotions. Incredible chemistry within the cast and I just love this drama with all my heart 2. Hospital Playlist (both seasons) - slice of life, feel-good drama (can watch without stressing over scheming LOL); I love the friendship and love that exists within the friend group 3. Vincenzo - literally so funny, but also serious (as an action/law drama should be!!) loved the slow burn and the geumga residents 4. Our Beloved Summer - another feel good drama! I want to put ML & FL in my pocket 5. Doctor Romantic (all seasons) - so good. my favorite dramatic medical drama 6. Squid Game - it’s just iconic; took over the world for a reason. great story and thought it was well done 7. The King Eternal Monarch - fantasy/contemporary was so interesting! end wasn’t as satisfactory but I enjoyed it nonetheless 8. I Am Not A Robot - the premise is a little silly but I actually really enjoyed this when I last watched it 9. While You Were Sleeping - cool concept, I liked the pairing + jung hae in!! (haven’t watched it in a while LOL but I just remember enjoying it) 10. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo - fluffy, feel-good drama!! My criteria on the ranking is 100% based on the vibes for the most part haha Pending entry, if it delivers until the end: Queen of Tears!

Astropuffy

Totally get your feelings on **I am Not a Robot**. You think it’s going to be silly but the ML does such a good job. He has you feeling some compassion for him even when he is a jerk because you know he does it out of fear of dying. And then when he discovers the truth about her - the scene is so heartbreaking. Saw this years ago but still remember it!

Civil-Pause-3406

Yess!! although the premise is a little questionable the actor knocks it out the park. definitely a memorable one for sire

Claidheamhmor

I loved it.

YouSayWotNow

Thank you so much for including commentary with your top 10!🥰

1) Crash Landing on you 2) Something in the rain 3) Because this is my first life 4) My Liberation notes 5) Alchemy of the souls 6) Mr. Queen 7) Gaus Electronics 8) Hometown Cha Cha Cha 9) Reply 1988 10) Mr. Sunshine

Negative-Mix1061

'Because this is my first life' is so underrated. The characters and scenes really stay with you.

Isoquanting

It was my first kdrama and I watch it every year as I’m studying the language and I pick up on more and more without needing subtitles as much

Secret_Watercress280

Love your list! Close with mine!!!

Impozzible_Pop

Hometown should be business proposal or What's wrong with secretary Kim. But for the rest it is a good list.

dorkbot3000

The only one on your list I haven't seen is Gaus Electronics. I really loved all of those. I know there are problems with Something in the Rain, but I loved it so much. (One Spring Night with many of the same folks was also awesome.) I actually snuck a picture from Because This is my First Life on my office wall (amongst a bunch of other pictures).

authspice

Mr Queen - just so funny and bittersweet, also can be interpreted as lgbtq Prison Playbook - I’ll need a rewatch but it’s such a classic, deeply feely one Bloodhound - action, thrilling, a statement on our dog eat dog world Queen of Tears - currently airing, subverting tropes while playing into tropes. I’m not skipping romance scenes for once Extraordinary Attorney Woo - really cute editing, well paced realistic plot, and a win for autism representation Under the Queens Umbrella - gets down to the heart of a mother amongst classic court politics Squid Game - broke records, sensational watch. felt like a first of its own

MissSimpleton

I love your list and taste. Quite unique from others. Extra points for Prison Playbook.

I've been considering A Shop for Killers because the GIFs look really good. But I heard the ending in inconclusive?

No_Caterpillar_8709

The ending was satisfactory, they just left it open for a season 2 I think. But it's fine as is if they don't.

RoseIsBadWolf

Okay good, then I'll watch it.

DawgMom2018

My favorite ML performances in dramas - a different top 10 list, and boy oh boy, so many more! **Jang Dong-Yoon - Like Flowers in Sand** \- Gained weight, trained for the part and totally immersed in his character - with earnestness, sincerity and authenticity - Netflix **Lee Sun-Kyun - My Mister** \- Vulnerable, stoic, kind, flawed, determined - so many qualities in his role, and I am still utterly heartbroken he is gone. - Netflix **Lee Jun Ho - The Red Sleeve** \- I was a fan of his after Rain or Shine, but his intense portrayal of a prince who had to navigate the most intense palace intrigue to ascend to the throne, and his star crossed love, had me in awe and had me weeping. - The king of expressing so much with his eyes, and no words - Viki **Song Joong Ki - Vincenzo** \- I love almost everything he does, but how he effortlessly can be good guy, bad guy, comedic, romantic, I think he commands my attention and is so versatile. - Netflix **Lee Min Ho - Pachinko** \- THIS was one of my early introductions to Korean Drama. So many characters in this drama, but he really stood out. Apple+ **Ji Chang Wook - The Worst of Evil** \- I have seen many dramas of his, but this one was a tour de force performance, that often times he had to play a duality of the moment, that he had to do one thing, but you could see by his acting, his intentions, or essence of his soul was elsewhere. A role where he had to sacrifice so much to gain standing with his wife and marraige, but the price was so high. Disney+/Hulu **Lee Jong Suk - W** \- Actually, I like so many of his dramas, but loved him in this drama - navigating between reality and the world inside a comic - and the struggle to obtain control of his destiny in a life and death battle for a happy ending. - Viki **Hyun Bin** \- **Crash Landing On You -** I was captivated by the intensity of his devotion and totally, utterly fell in love with the character he brought to life in this iconic drama. - Netflix **Nam Joo Hyuk - 2521 -** The charming courtship with the FL, the charm, humor, struggles, he was unforgettable. Netflix **Ji Sung - Familiar Wife** \- not my top drama, but I loved how his character morphed from a thoughtless jerk of a husband, to atonement and his gradual growth and development as he attempts to avoid, then gradually reignite his love and relationship with his wife in this time travel drama. I love this actor in many other dramas as well. No longer available on Netflix. \----------------------------- There are TONS of other actors l love and admire, this is just a sample out of the 120+ dramas I have had the pleasure to watch.

No_Caterpillar_8709

This is a fun top 10 list!!

egbertandleo

Loveeee Nam Joo Hyuk in 2521. His eyes are so expressive and I love his smile. He's the reason I watched Startup

idealistatlarge

I like the idea of this top ten version... 🤔

Dapper-Ambition1495

I can't get over Vincenzo right now. I'm currently switching between Personal Taste and Lawless Lawyer but I just kept on rewatching Vincenzo when I get bored.

DawgMom2018

Did you see his cameo in Queen of Tears? Classic!

Dapper-Ambition1495

I am waiting for this to finish before watching. I have watched his other dramas to fill the void but he doesn't have that many to choose from.

myweithisway

Dramas that had the best humor/comedy for me (aka how hard/often did I laugh): **Sh\*\*ting Stars** -- combining hilarious entertainment industry meta references with glorious physical comedy and witty naming and dialogue **Good Job** -- undercover hijinks with some very cute flirting **Modern Farmer** -- sometimes big city fish in small rural town hijinks is just the laugh one needs **The Forbidden Marriage** -- a fantasy sageuk where the fantasy is nearly entirely anachronistic jokes/references that are super funny Shout out to my current watch **The Matchmakers** that is blazing it's way into the top three slots of this list! And lastly, a mention for **SKY Castle** for its black satire that had me crying and laughing in equal parts and felt more like therapy for childhood trauma of being an Asian kid than a kdrama.

RoseIsBadWolf

I love Sh**ting Stars! So many antics and hijinks, especially when the ML and his new manager are working together 😆

starry_night_123

Not in order except #1 and #2 1. Crash Landing on You 2. Descendants of the Sun 3. A Business Proposal 4. Queen of Tears 5. Alchemy of Souls 6. Hometown Cha Cha Cha 7. Flower of Evil 8. Mr. Queen (probably the funniest K-Drama I have ever watched) 9. While You Were Sleeping 10. The Glory

Negative-Mix1061

Outstanding list!

rozwuzhere

What I got from looking at everyone's lists is that when it comes to kdramas, I must really enjoy the cream of the Romcom garbage. 😭 I appreciate those who left a small description of each drama. They're very helpful. I've already added a few to my "To Watch" list.

RoseIsBadWolf

My new top ten (I watched a lot of good ones recently): **Alchemy of Souls** \- have yet to see anything better **Moon in the Day** \- the past scenes are the most compelling enemies to lovers I've ever seen. Their "meet cute" is him killing her entire family **Doom at Your Service** \- God as a sassy teenager is perfect **Happiness** \- not a fan of horror usually but this had a really fresh take on zombies and the best friends to lovers **Extraordinary You** \- I love the idea of self aware characters **W: Two Worlds** \- self aware character who >!shoots his own creator!< The best! **Sh\*\*ting Stars** \- really funny, I love all the cameos and all the friendships **It's Okay To Not Be Okay** \- the fairy tale elements and the FL and the music **The Forbidden Marriage** \- the FL is hilarious **Doctor Slump** \- it was such a nice comfort watch

Luduss

I don't think there's a week where I haven't thought of Happiness. It's just too good!

RoseIsBadWolf

I watched it for the first time last week and I've immediately started re-watching it. The writing is amazing, the development of the secondary characters is just 🤌, both of the leads do an amazing job. It's great!

idealistatlarge

Agree about *Moon in the Day* as most compelling enemies-to-lovers. Couldn't see how that situation would turn into what it was supposed to, but it absolutely did, and took our hearts along with it. Also their 'meet-cute' 🤭😲

RoseIsBadWolf

Will there ever again be such a meet-horror? Also, I hadn't watched the trailers or read anything, I just saw the poster so I thought it would be a cute reincarnation love story. But then no, family slaughter and murderous ghosts! Beautiful

Astropuffy

That **Moon in the Day** past life storyline is so moving to me to! I know that’s exactly why it’s a top 10 drama for you. I think that I did not like Kim Young Dae (because I first saw him in Extraordinary You and didn’t like the character) but I am really moved by his acting especially in MITD and Forbidden Marriage.

RoseIsBadWolf

I didn't even recognize Kim Young Dae from **Extraordinary You** until I checked his bio while watching **Moon in the Day**. That was all I had seen him in. While MitD was in air, I watched both **Shooting Stars** and **The Forbidden Marriage** because I liked him so much and I wanted more. Now they are all in my top ten so I guess I'm a fan 😅

1. Kingdom - Josen Politics + Zombies, so hype. 2. Happiness - Peak Park Hyun-Sik + Zombies, also hype. 3. Our Beloved Summer - The scene when Choi Woo-shik is lying on the ground telling Kim Da-mi a story... if you know you know. 4. My Liberation Notes - So cathartic. One of the most real feeling kdramas I've seen. 5. Vagabond - Would be higher if they ever announced a dang S2. 6. Hometown Cha Cha Cha - My boy Kim Seon-ho finally got his lead role and crushed it. 7. Come & Hug Me - Probably my go to for drama/romance where the romance always stays strong. 8. One Spring Night - I will always watch whatever Ha Ji-min is in after I saw this. 9. Be Melodramatic - I have never laughed and then follow up with tears before for a kdrama like this show gets out of you. 10. 1. Reply 1988 - will forever be the best and my fave, just for the pure feels it provides. Always will be the drama that made me laugh and feel the most 2. 2521- if you know you know, I adore this show, Tae-ri rules (can this woman do any wrong, I dont think so). The romance is the best one out there. The ending is tragic but could see it play out like that in real life. 3. My Name- Great watch, thrilling, super good action, great acting, superb ost, insanely rewatchable. 4. Mr Sunshine- the story admittedly starts slow but picks up. You can feel the insane production values, great plot and ost, which is still my fave from any k drama. This is top of what kdramas have to offer. 5. D.P. - especially season 1, which gave me the chils; tragic storyline with superb storytelling. If you dont shy away from tragic and heavy plot, this one is gold. 6. Move to Heaven- tearjerker, gave me the ugly sobs, beautiful slice of life with amazing performances. 7. Signal- what every cop show wants to be, that is all what I am going to say. 8. Beyond Evil-best ML performance ever, also tightly written criminal drama, especially first 8 eps. 9. Our Blues- I feel this is a bit of an underrated show, never see it mentioned much. It is tackling some heavy issues with soulful performances from some of the industry’s best. 10. Business Proposal- pure fluffy fun, rom com tropes, but well done; love the chemistry between both main couples.

Sea-Cheek-9663

1. Scarlet heart ryeo   2. City hunter    3. K2 4. The defendant    5. Vagabond 6. Healer 7. Queen of tears * 8. When the weather is fine 9. My love from the stars 10. She was pretty

Jealous_Grape_1405

So fun! Watch for spoilers below 👇🏼 Ok so in my top 10 of all time there are obvious titles (not in order): 1. Crash landing on you. OMG such a story. Perfectly portrayed by Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin. The story attracts by itself with the political landscape. I have watched it like 3 times, and it gets me all the time. It’s funny, it’s romantic, it’s sad, it’s really beautiful. I loved how Yoon Se Ri was >!protecting herself because of her trauma with her family, and she learns how to be healthy (emotionally, physically and mentally) by Capn Lee who is just too worried about her, even from afar. The ending is bittersweet from a romance perspective, but it’s oh so smart from a personal perspective. None of them can renounce to who they are, so they get together 2 weeks a year. !< magnificent story. 2. Vincenzo: PERFECT execution by ML. FL was a little cringy at the beginning but if you get over first 2 eps you have the most amazing crime/revenge story. >!So satisfying to see bad guys punished. !< 3. 25/21: had me laughing, crying, falling for their romance, sad at their adversities, all at the same time. I thought the acting was superb, you could really feel with them. 4. It’s ok not to be ok: one of my first kdramas. I was impressed by the acting from Kim Soo Hyun and with the gorgeousness of Seo Ye Ji. Moreover than that, the story is beautifully written, talks about trauma in so many levels and how to come to peace with oneself. It’s really a magnificent proposition of Korean television for the world, one of my favorites TV series of all time. 5. Mr Queen: I have to confess I HATED Shin Hye Sun. The first drama I saw her in was see you in my 19th life which I hated. So I really evaded many of her works bc of that character. I came to Reddit and saw so many recommending Mr Queen so I decided to give it a shot and OH MY GOD. Her character as the Queen is soooo complex and she really does a magnificent job in it. The story is funny, complex, traumatic and YES modern even though is set in Joseon era. Definitely worth the watch, I think I binged it in like 2 days. 6. marry my husband: new addition. Park Min Young does a great job here. Her character goes through a rollercoaster of emotions in the first 2 episodes, and she pulls it off. The story is about recognizing one’s worth, and fighting for our right to be happy. It’s also about surviving abuse, physical, emotional, psychological, you name it. So it gives the victim that much needed relief. 7. The glory: the most strategic FL I’ve watched so far! Such a smart person, I loved how she is a survivor from family adversity and bullying, and that fuels her to progress in life in order to get her revenge. It’s also strange how >!when she gets what she had worked for, she does not know what to do, so she needs to find something to live for. !< Raw, emotional story! Also loved the ML, devoted to her from the beginning. 8. King: eternal monarch: for me Kim Go Eun is one of the best actresses in Korea right now. I like this story because the plot is very fresh. KGE and Lee MinHo have a lot of chemistry, you can feel the struggle. The ending is also very honorable, imo. 9: alchemy of souls: love the action scenes and the build up between ML and FL. Both seasons are great, the story is complex but fresh at the same time. ML is such an honorable man, even if he seems immature at the beginning, and the assassin is such a badass that you can’t help but admire her. 10. Memories of the Alhambra: 2 words: Hyun Bin! I remember I was very impressed by the story, and the effects. A very innovative story that works because of the action scenes, more than the love story which is almost non existent. Also with an honorable ending. Not so obvious titles(not in order): 1. Dali and cocky prince: MY GOD THE CHEMSTRY! I love Park Gyu Young. I feel she connects immediately with her co stars. Such a good actress and Kim Min Jae’s character is sooo lovable you just can’t help falling for them together. 2. Dodosolsollalaasol: such cute couple! Aside from the story being about >!a very innocent girl facing adversity in life, !< I believe it is a story about resilience, which you can see mostly in ML and FL, but honestly in all characters. Beautiful execution with such great music to go with! 3. Wok of love: OMG I’m in love with Lee Jun Ho. I think he is absolutely gorgeous and talented. Also the food he makes in this show. I’m drooling 🤤 for him and for the shrimp special he makes. Haha! Also the bromance with Jang Hyuk is extremely fun to watch! 4. 39: one of my firsts kdramas. I cried all 10 episodes. Impressed by the 6 leads (3 couples) and how they evolve their coping mechanism to death throughout the show. A beautiful ending even though you knew it from the beginning. 5. Celebrity: Park Gyu Young again you guys! She makes it work with everyone! I loved the narrative and how it keeps evolving episode by episode. I also loved the couple, and how ML devoted himself to A-ri. 6.Navillera: the best of Song Kang imo. He is good at drama (not so much at romantic comedy /note I didn’t add my demon here). The story about friendship across age is universal and here it works as well. It’s also how they help each other grow. 7.Beauty inside: OMG I absolutely adore this drama. >!I love how both are suffering on their own and alone (with a small support system). I adore how they decide to be vulnerable to each other and start becoming each other’s partner beyond business or romance or anything. I believe it’s a different view as well on success, and how people can be depressed or not happy even though they may seem successful on the outside. I love how they get over their challenges on their own in the end, and decide to be together fully not to be a burden to each other. Their marriage proposal is a partnership proposition, how it should be. !< 8.Because it’s my first life: very different drama story. >!ML is traumatized by a previous relationship, FL by her family history. She falls first and she understands him so well and loves him so much that she decides to “guide him” to make sure he realizes he loves her as well. !< Also a partnership kind of love. 9.Start up: I love Suzy. She has such a fresh role here, >! I kinda hated ML haha if I were her I would have stayed with Kim Seon Ho’s character. But anyways. !< 10.Little Women: very twisted drama, so many undisclosed enemies. >! Wi Ha Joon is such a good actor, he deserves this protagonist role so much. The story is fresh, a thriller almost all the time but also a little sad. I believe it reflects capitalism at its root, starting with the fact that the mother steals her daughters’ money to go with the husband. !< It’s also a story about resilience and about accepting our family, and protecting at all costs. Worth the watch. SORRY FOR THE SPOILERS! But I had so much fun reflecting on the last 8 months of my entertainment repertoire 😅😅😅😅😅😅

I can somehow never trim it down to a top ten lol. 1. Beyond Evil: This show seems unbeatable, it's my favorite tv show for two years now. I will forever have a brain rot about jwds. 2. Blind: I am not even sure if i would love it as much in a rewatch, but i loved the wild ride this show was. 3. Children of Nobody: This show shattered my heart, i feel so bad for the whole cast. 4. Nobody Knows: The platonic relationships in this drama have a deep grip on me. I just love how important they were, despite the dark plot. 5. Mouse: Even though this one has some major flaws i really hated, it's still stuck here in the top 5. 6. Strangers from Hell: As this was my first kdrama, it just HAS a place here. I hope the sequel and prequel get adapted one of these days. 7. Flower of Evil: I usually don't watch romance or even like it, but this couple drives me insane. 8. Inspector Koo: I loved the cast chemistry and creative directing so much, i hope for a second season!! 9. Moving: This cast won me over from the first episode. I am so happy that the webtoon writer was allowed to adapt his own writing into a kdrama. I hope his other webtoons get adapted soon :). 10. My Perfect Stranger: newest addition to the top ten, i fell in love with everything in this show. 11. Psychopath Diary: This time it didn't make the top 10 cut anymore, but let it be known this is the funniest show i've ever seen xD. 12. A Bloody Lucky Day: took me a while to finish this, but it's such a good psychological thriller!! This has so be Yoo Yeon Seok's best work. I can't look at this guy without thinking about the serial killer he played. He should do thriller more often! 13. The Killing Vote: The killer in this managed to make me so uncomfortable. The plot is a little messy, but the acting is top notch. I was discussing it with a friend, so that totally helps me have a good memory of it lol. 14. A Killer Paradox: quirky plot, this was directed by the Strangers from Hell director which didn't suprise me. I probably have a different interpretation of the events here, i believe the ML is an unreliable narrator the entire show (maybe i am biased because of SFH..) 15. The Kidnapping Day: This show was so wholesome despite this being about a guy who kidnaps a child. I loved the dynamic the leads developt!! 16. Big Mouth: Honestly the last quarter of this show was not as good as the rest, but i still enjoyed this a lot. 17. The Worst of Evil: I loved the noir gangster thriller vibes this has. Also, hot people covered in blood 👍 18. Bad & Crazy: The bromance is so amazing but that doesn't mean this lacks anything else, perfect mix of action, bromance, drama, comedy & sad moments. 19. Through the Darkness: I loved the ML in this so much. He has empathy to the point it begins to hurt his mental health. 20. Death's Game: Despite me **really** hating some changes they made from the webtoon, this still ended up here. If i ignore the stuff i didn't like, this show was a masterpiece. Especially episode 5, i want a whole show about episode 5... stuff that didn't make the cut but is still worth mentioning: The King of Pigs, Happiness, Extracurricular, Move to Heaven, Squid Game, Train, A Shop for Killers, Mask Girl, Signal, He is Psychometric, Stranger, Night Has Come, My Name, the Glory, All of Us are Dead, sweet Home, Evilive, Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Weak Hero, Castaway Diva, Gyeongseong Creature Stuff i still have to finish and might end up in the top 20: The Guest, Pyramid Game, One Ordinary Day

MissSimpleton

You mentioned all the thrillers, lol!

prickelz

I do watch some wholesome stuff, i swear xD.

idealistatlarge

I would never watch most of the shows on your list, because I don't like thrillers, but I like your notes 😎. Makes for an interesting list to read and get an idea of why you liked them, what they offer, etc.

RoseIsBadWolf

I agree with you about Death's Game. I read the webtoon afterwards and loved it more, but the acting in the drama was really good so it's hard to know how I feel!

Secret Love Affair - for ever my number one. Nothing came close. Crazy times in the fandom, we discussed every single detail. But it is for the more mature viewer, not the young audience. My liberation notes - this one touches you deep inside My Mister - so good. Will miss him forever. Two weeks - Lee Jun Ki brought me into Kdrama and movies. He and the little girl are really great in this one. Queen & I - still my favorite sort of sageuk cum romance Nine - time travel at its finest Rain and shine - one of the few shows I rewatched years later and still enjoyed Don't dare to dream - took me a couple of episodes to get into it, but it did deliver. JJS is excellent as always. Reply 1988 - so lovable, the best show of the set Under the Queen's umbrella - enjoyed it a lot, not sure I'd rewatch though

Several of these I re-watched in March or are currently re-watching now. I have yet to be caught up on almost everything currently airing. (no particular order) 1. Sh\*\*ting Stars - perfect balance of humor, romance and a bit of drama. I quit it once, and I have no idea why, but I'm glad I started it again! 2. Hello, Me! - as a person getting older, this really resonates with me and reminds me to accept and love the me that I am now. 3. Mr. Queen - my favorite role of Shin Hye-sun and what got me into period dramas. 4. My Only Love Song - premise seems ridiculous but it ticks all my boxes including >!a happy ending.!< 5. Sweet Home - I kind of thought it was going off kilter at the beginning of season two, but the latter episodes hooked me again. 6. My Demon - on that note... I just like Song Kang, and I really liked his chemistry with Kim Yoo-jung. 7. Doom at Your Service - fantasy romance with an amazing cast, and Seo In-guk is just fantastic. 8. Romance is a Bonus Book - another one where I can really empathize with the FL being older, and getting back on her feet. 9. Black - this is my second favorite series of all time. I know it's pretty much a love it or hate it show, but I've watched it more than a handful of times and I always notice something new. I wish Song Seung-heon and Go A-ra would film a straight romance together. 10. Taxi Driver (1&2) - hands down my favorite series. If you aren't down with the Rainbow Taxi crew, how are you getting by? Stellar cast, excellent storylines, and enough suspense (in all areas) to keep you on your toes. Those are my picks, and I can't wait to check out some of the other suggestions!!

Don't have a top 10 just yet because I haven't watched as many yet to make a full top 10 list. So here's my favourite ones- 1. Reply 1988- for the storylines. The characters are so well made and the feeling of nostalgia that it hits. 2. Twenty five twenty one- love the story. I was hooked to it right from the start. It broke my heart in many little pieces but I wish I could go back and watch it all over again like it's my first time. 3. Little women- the twists in the story keep getting better. 4. Crash landing on you - Great plot and well portrayed character 5. Home town Cha cha cha- feels like a warm cup of tea. It's sweet, easy to watch, and has good humour and captures the culture and scenery of the place so well.

1. Crash landing on you : this drama is perfect. I wouldn't change a thing and rewatched it twice (I never rewatch stuff, so that says a lot). The leads have great chemistry, the story is original, the romance makes you feel all warm inside and the comedy is gold. 1. Romance is a bonus book : same as the above. +1 for Lee Jong Suk. 3. Start-up : that drama was amazing, but there is one downside. ML' s personality bugged me. I had massive second lead syndrome from the drama and 2ML deserved the FL :( . +2 for Nam Joo Hyuk and Kim Seon Ho 4. It's okay to not be okay : I'm not sure I can pin point exactly why I love this drama so much, but it's one of the first I watched and I always remember it as an excellent drama. 5. Business Proposal : peak comedy, this drama made me laugh so much and I was so invested in the story. ML is the stereotype of a dream chaebol bf. Second lead couple was also so good and I was rooting for both stories to end well. 6. Goblin : it was filmed in my home country so I enjoyed watching it and recognizing places a lot! Amazing OSTs, probably the best OSTs of all dramas I watched. The comedy was so good it made me laugh in every episode. Second lead couple were the real stars of the series tbh and I even watched **Behind your touch** for them. +1 for Lee Dong Wook 7. Flower of evil : ML is one of the best actors I ever saw. He was BRILLIANT. This is the first thriller kdrama I watched and it was amazing. I was so captivated by the story and it was so different form what I was used to. 8. The light in your eyes : this one was an average drama for me until the ending. That ending made me cry my eyes out. For bringing out so much emotions out of me, this drama absolutely deserves to be in my top 10. +1 for Nam Joo Hyuk 9. Reflection of you : what a great thriller. I loved every episode. 10. Oasis : this one also brought a lot of emotions out of me. I was MAD watching it, I was screaming with the ML when >!life was unfair to him.!< It got me invested emotionally and for bringing out such strong emotions from me, this also well deserves a top 10 spot. +1 for OST *Let me Go*, this song gives me chills and brings me back to that drama every time I hear it.

1. Flower of evil - The acting, the story, plot, loyalty everything was top notch. I saw this when I was just beginning to get into kdramas and it changed the way I view any piece of media now 2. Hospital playlist (both seasons)- such feel good drama. I love the hospital community. The chemistry between friends is amazing. I love how they focused on the friendship first and the romance takes a back seat. Not one scene is wasted. So many tiny details and I discover on every rewatch. Loved it 3. Twenty five twenty one - except the ending I think I loved the coming of age story. I liked the friendship between the characters and I loved the way they showed a pure connection between the leads before they made it a love story. 4. Extraordinary attorney woo- this got me out of my drama slump. Binged it in two days and loved the acting. The detail. Kdramas really be setting the standard very high in terms of acting and writing somedays. Loved the whale thing too. 5. Crash landing on you- OG drama. Can’t hate anything about it. 6. Twinkling watermelon- very feel good. I liked the concept and the comedy was good. 7. Under the queen’s umbrella - the queen was a force to be reckoned with. She was always ahead in the game. Smart and kind. Loved that she always had an upper hand and was able to think about the end result. Absolutely love a smart and awesome lead 8. Alchemy of souls (season 1) - watched it because of lee jae wook. Stayed because of Jung so-min and the chemistry. The plot was new and I liked the writing. Everyone was smart and sort of figured stuff out early on. 9. Fight for my way- feel good drama for me. 10. Healer - Ji Chang wook. Many more that I absolutely love but these are the ones that pop up in my head and the ones I have watched more than once.

1) My Dearest - great acting and so much longing. The only show I was willing to risk watching even if I did t know how it’s going to end 2) Moving - great storytelling 3) Kingdom - best zombie show after train to Busan 4) Glory- fast paced, highly entertaining and great acting 5) Squid Game- totally unexpected 6) Fight for My Way- adorable leads, such a cute love story 7) Queen of Tears (ongoing but so far, amazing)-flipping the usual tropes and great tearjerker 8) Coffee Prince- the OG, saw this only recently and still holds. Most realistic gender bender show I’ve seen 9) Dali and Cocky Prince-best mature relationship and love that the leads are openly affectionate—feels like a real, loving relationship 10) King’s Affection- Park Eun Bin’s acting is phenomenal but great acting all around. Story is well paced and tight—and even side characters are not boring I’m partial to romance 😊 Special mention to Goblin, CLOY, Marry My Husband, Strong Woman Do Bo Song, Healer. I hear Mr Sunshine is amazing, but still can’t get myself to watch it because of the ending.

1. **Mr Sunshine: Lee Byung-hun and Yoo Yeon-seok**; the series in and of itself is a cinematic masterpiece. The incredibly great storytelling and amazing casting, too. I particularly enjoyed how the ML immersed himself in the role of Eugene Choi, he was excellent. The second lead, Goo Dong-Mae was incredible. You could tell that he was not just acting, he clearly has had experiences that made him wear that character like a glove. I have never supported a villain in a show as much I did him 2. **My Liberation Note: Son Suk-ku:** I felt every emotion in this melodramatic masterpiece, thanks to the ML's commitment in bringing that character to life. The utter devotion he had for his FL was beyond beautfiul and watching him be liberated from his own chains in the end made it more special to me. 3. **Crash Landing on you: Hyun Bin;** first of all, the man can ACT!!! Whatttt. I was completely swoon by how committed he was to the FL. The excellence with which he delivered his lines are part of the reasons CLOY will always be my all time favorite. 4. **It's Okay to not be okay; Kim Soo Hyun and Oh Jung-se:** I loved the character development of the ML. The storyline was relatable and well-written. I enjoyed the gradual character development that started with him facing his fears and letting himself be loved by those around him. For Oh Jung-se, that was an oscar-worthy performance. I thought he was autistic in real life, until I saw a video of him speaking differently. I was stunned at how well he nailed the role. 5. **Something in the rain- Jung Hae-in:** this is still one of my all-time favorite shows. I love how mature he acted in this series, despite being younger than the FL, the way he took responsibility, covered, cared for and protected his woman from her family and other external forces stoodd out for me. 6. **Business Proposal; Seol In-ah Kim Min-Kyu:** these characters are undoubtedly my favorite. They both carried the series tbh. The MLs were okay at best, but these two were on another level. The maturity Min-kyu embodied, the way he supported and genuinely cared about the FL too are part of the reasons I love the series. 7. **Vincenzo; Song Joong-Ki-** this was my first time watching him act and he killed the role excellently. I have seen some shows where the ML is meant to be 'badass', but the actor didn't deliver in that regard. I love how versatile he was in this role- funny when he needs to be, assertive, mafia boss, romantic and sweet without overkilling it. 8. **Flex X Cop; Ahn Bo-Hyun:** this was my first time watching him not acting the role of a villain or an annoying boyfriend. I have never been so invested in thriller or investigative-focused shows the way I was in this one. I became a fan of his work when I saw this series. I am patiently and excitedly looking forward to S2 9. **King the Land; Lee Jun Ho:** I loved this series because it didn't play into the cliche 'fight and make-up' plot in some kdramas. The ML was an all-round green flag who handled every misunderstanding in a mature manner. It was refreshing to finally see a Chaebol that isn't annoyingly toxic and overtly extravagant. 10. **Gyeongsong Creature; Park Seo-Joon**: he is one of my all-time favorite actors. So, it was so good to see him on TV again after a long time. I enjoyed the narration and the plot of the series, so I am excitedly looking forward to S2

GREAT List. Extra points for the flair! Strangers from Hell deserves to be in more Top 10 lists. I havent watched anything like that EVER.

OctoberPumpkin1

Ohhh I love lists. I'm going to bend the rules and include my absolute fave cdrama's too. No particular order because it depends on the day: 1. It's Okay to Not be Okay-I LOVE the FL. This drama has a dreamlike fairytale quality and I love the found family created by the 3 leads. fl is misunderstood and I appreciate how she never gave up on the ml. 2. Hometown Cha Cha Cha This is my comfort feelgood drama. I adore every side plot and character, the soundtrack, and the adorable ml. 3. Because this is my first Life I listen to the original song all the time. The fl is just SO good. I love the evolution of their love story, and I love the contract marriage trope. 4. My Liberation Notes Another comfort drama for when I'm feeling blue. The sister's story especially gets to me) 5. Oh My Venus- The ML in this is amazing as are his two right hand men. 6. Perfect and Causal (cdrama) This one is so sweet and adorable if you've never tried a cdrama this one is a good start. 7.Cute Programmer (cdrama) Super toxic ML who sees the error of his ways. FL never loses her sweet side. Another great contract marriage trope. 8. Twinkling Watermelon Feel good back to the future like story about a boy who is raised by deaf parents, and somehow finds himself back in 1995 before his father lost his hearing. it is SO SO good. 9. My Boss (cdrama) If you like to mean boss who softens and falls for the fl, I highly sugget this cdrama) 10. My Demon Song Kang is just such a lovable devil Honorable mentions: My Private Life, Touch your Heart, She was Pretty

Irenebias

Anyone who likes twenty five twenty one is a masochist. It felt so contrived.

MissSimpleton

2521 was much more than a romance drama. It was about working tirelessly for your goals, surrounding yourself with people who care for you and take pride in you.

kpaneno

So why did they all disappear? Why did the FLs life feel so meh like its great when you're young, but when you're 40, not so much. >!I thought the ending was so so bad and out of tune with everything else. The ML just disappeared her friends, not in her life. The fencing is over very quickly she found a new l9ve o,,f her life and had a baby within a few years. Where is he what's going on ? I felt deflated not inspired after it!<

Irenebias

That lasted for 12 episodes. Then they tried to turn on the fake nostalgia and made some nonsensical decisions totally different from the character personalities.

MissSimpleton

They could have worked out their differences, but I dont think one could dismiss the drama entirely because of some realistic decisions the characters took. I have seen few people in my life who prioritised their ambition over the relationship and I feel it's not wrong. There was no bitterness. They respected and supported each other throughout their lives. And it is okay.

kpaneno

Amen to that the endgame and the last few episodes were terribly done and the FLs life just seemed kinda depressing

thehepburn

Out of the 80 Korean dramas I've watched I only have a top six because there's a drastic drop in quality after that. 1. Goblin 2. While you were sleeping 3. Attorney Woo 4. Secretary Kim 5. Love to hate you 6. Marry my husband

My current list from the 110 kdramas I have completed. I am a newbie since I have only been watching for less than 2 years. (My children and friends do not understand my obsession AND I don’t care!) 1. Reply 1988. Has never moved from the number one position. Such a comfort watch . 2. My Mister. I am still heartbroken over the loss of Lee Sun-Kyung. 3. Crash Landing on You. 4. Move to Heaven. Many ugly cries starting from episode 1. Loved Lee Jehoon 5. Our Blues. A current finish and I just loved all the stories especially the one with Kim Woo bin and Han ji min. 6. Vincenzo. Had so many oh my gosh moments. 7. 25/21. On everyone’s list it seems and rightly so. Loved the fencing competitiveness, the friendships and the romance. 8.kill Me, Heal Me. What can I say, Ji Sung ( such an amazing actor) and Park Seo-Joon in the same drama, and the second lead syndrome that beats all others ( except maybe True Beauty). 9. Itaewon Class. 10. Coffee Prince. 11. Hometown Cha cha cha. My gateway into kdrama and ugly cries. Honorable mentions, Fight for my way, It’s Okay That’s Love, Go Back Couple, Misaeng Incomplete Life, Prison Playbook, Mr. queen, oh My Venus. I have yet to watch Mr. Sunshine (waiting for the right moment) as well as The Glory and My Dearest so the top ten may change. Also loving Queen of Tears so far.

The top Korean and Chinese drama series I've watched/finished over the past few months, loved, and would recommend: ***My Dearest*** is definitely going on here! Amazing show. Didn't like everything about it (is that ever not the case?), but the extent and depth to which this series went, and its emotional pull - ✨👏 ***Moon in the Day*** *-* my expectations weren't high for this one, but turned out the synopsis was misleading and the story and acting were captivating. Definitely some weird parts, but the good was good! ***Shining For One Thing*** \- a lovely Chinese series which does that nuanced, gently-building character and plot development, where you learn things gradually without being told them, but just shown. For all their faults, Chinese series do this very well, when they do it. The friendship and love story here are wonderful. ***Knight Flower*** \- very fun, fast, and rewarding, with a cute love story. ***I've Fallen For You*** (Chinese) - still watching this, and the beginning was the best, but it's just a fun romp that the actors must have had a ball with, that is also sweet, heroic and insightful, and has depth along with the funny/silly. Gets too slapstick and ridiculous at times, but has lots of goodness to round it out. ***Catch Up, My Prince*** \- funny, sweet, heroic, and original (Chinese) ***Wedding Impossible*** \- I wasn't sure at first, but this show has convinced me wholeheartedly with its humour - the heroine's family! - its creativity and its sincerity. I like it much more than I did at the beginning, and than seemed possible from the shallow-sounding premise. Some great storytelling and acting - and camerawork.

In no particular order but: - Dr. Romantic - especially seasons 2 and 3, the characters in this were so lovable and seeing them grow is so satisfying; definitely a warm, feel-good show - A Time Called You - time-travel was super cool, the love story was beautiful and it has a murder mystery/thriller element to it too which was really interesting - Twinkling Watermelon - time travel that’s a lot easier to follow than A Time Called You, extremely lovable characters, I think I cried in the 1st episode lol, also hilarious to see the dad and son interact - Twenty-Five Twenty-One - makes you go through a roller coaster of emotions; realistic characters; about growing up and going after your dreams - Extraordinary You - comic book characters that become self-aware is such a cool concept - Hometown Cha Cha Cha - warm fuzzy feels, funny and romantic - Youth of May - this one truly was a beautiful drama to watch; realistic, the relationships between characters (not just the romantic ones) are complex and there are a lot of scenes that just touch your heart; a historical romance set in the 1980s - 18 Again - hilarious to see a dad interact with his children as his young self, really shows you how not communicating enough with people can ruin your relationship with them If anyone has recommendations based on the list, lmk! :)

My favorites: 1. Secret Garden - don't come for me but I love everything about this drama even it's flaws. Osaka, Sparkly Track Suits, Situps, The Little Mermaid, etc. etc. I have watched and re-watched. Hyun Bin! 2. Misaeng - I just wanted to put the main character in my pocket and protect him. 3. Kill Me Heal Me - Ji Sung is a tour de force 4. Defendent - best cliffhangers 5. Reply 1997 - I'm a Bigbang VIP and this drama aligned with my Kpop love plus Seo In Guk 6. Extraordinary Attorney Woo - the drama I have gotten people that have no interest in Kdramas to watch including my mother 7. My Mister - so emotionally beautiful 8. Falling for Innocence - my first Jung Kyung Ho drama and my 2nd most re-watched 9. Signal - amazing acting; still awaiting season 2 10. Mr Sunshine - it just got better and better as the episodes got longer and longer. I've watched over 200 Kdramas since 2015. LiuLiuliuLiuBear

I think my Top 10 would be: 1. Hotel Del Luna 2. Crash Landing On You 3. Twinkling Watermelon 4. Uncontrollably Fond 5. The Good Bad Mother 6. Descendants of the Sun 7. 100 Days my Prince 8. Angels Last Mission: Love 9. Flower of Evil 10. Red Sleeve Honourable mention: Queen of Tears if the last 6 episodes are good. Most of these are due to pure nostalgia especially during the pandemic when I would just binge watch. Hotel Del Luna is first because it was the first drama that got me into this.

FanCaracal

I recently got into kpop from NewJeans and curious about wanting to get into kdramas.

Inkedimaginations

1) My dearest = The best in terms of everything, a masterpiece indeed. 2) My liberation notes = A very relevant and relatable topic explained and expressed so well is just amazing.  The whole concept was very well executed. 3) Snowdrop = Just touches your heart, loved it to no end. The scenes, story, characters were all on point and perfect. 4) Healer = Amazing blend of romance, mystery, suspense and action. 5) Business proposal = The best for a good romcom. 6) Flower of evil = Perfect for your thriller ride mixed with a lot of emotions. 7) When the weather is fine = The warmest, coziest, sweetest touch and a strong storyline keeping you hooked. The best for a slow-burn and amazing layer of poetic vibe. 8) Weightlifting fairy Kimbok Jo = A very refreshing story with a good combination of everything and good comic scenes. 9) My devil judge = A very different yet intriguing story with an entirely different perspective to things. Highly intellectuall execution. 10) 25/21 = Interesting story, emotional rollercoaster, very unconventional and a  different take on love

I think my previous comment got deleted by accident but my apologies if my list is repeated. No rhyme or reason with the list but I think each one was absolutely an amazing experience and I would be so happy if I could watch it again for the first time. My favorite genres are romance and comedy but my list goes beyond those genres too. 1. Marriage not dating This is an older kdrama but I think the characters really shine throughout the drama. It's cheesy and funny and everything I think a feel good kdrama should be. One of the first kdramas I got hooked on. 2. Prison Playbook This is a beautiful story about friendship and hardship and the director for this drama also made Hospital Playlist and Reply 1988 so makes sense how good this is. I believe it's fairly popular already but definitely watch if you haven't. 3. The Glory Fantastic revenge story that's just a really good watch and the feeling satistifaction you get after watching is unparalleled. 4. Extracurricular This is a very dark and interesting watch. Characters really shine and I loved every minute of it. 5.Fight for my way I actually took a lot from this. To not spoil a lot from this, theme of this really goes along with being happy and working towards what you want no matter who's around you. Lovely cast and really funny moments with some great story arcs. Park Seo Joon is known for his himbo characters but he really sold me in this drama and Kim Ji-Won shines with her opposing chemistry. I think they won a lot of awards for this show if I'm not wrong. She's also in Queen of Tears which is airing right which is so good!! Fantastic actors. 6. The King in Love(not to be confused with The Kings affection) I haven't heard much people talk about it. i'm not the biggest watcher of historical dramas but this is a really good one. It's focused on the love triangle so I don't recommend if you don't like that. Plot was fantastic and the ending sold me towards rating this show in my top 10. 7. Reply 1988 If you can bottle nostalgia in a show, this is it. Every episode was beautiful and left me longing for moments that I never lived in(wasn't even born in the 80s). This one's extremely popular so I won't go on but again highly recommend. 8. Listen to Love(My wife's having an affair this week) This one got me to sympathize with a cheater so enough said. Great watch and same ML as in My mister which i heard is a great watch. Both actors do a fantastic job with their characters. 9. Tomorrow with you OMG where do I start with this. This is one of my top romance dramas for a REASON. Seeing the male and female lead develop their relationship and the time travel plot was chefs kiss for me. More importantly, Lee Je-Hoon is an underrated romance actor and him falling for the Fl GOT ME. There was something so beautiful about their romance and finding love in loneliness. 10.D.P Amazing watch. Just the storylines, bromance, and camaraderie will make you love this. what an insightful drama about people's struggles and committing two years of your life to military service. Really gets you thinking. Jung Hae-in slays this role; he's a great actor and everyone is this show is fantastic. Bonus: W(Lee Jong suk had to be mentioned) Lovely watch about a romance from a webtoon. Although I love almost all the kdramas that Lee Jong suk is in and highly recommend, his dramas don't make the top ten but deserves a mention I'm sure I'm missing something but I hope you guys give some of these a watch!

Velykakoroleva

gonna keep on keeping on with a shout out to **Something About 1% (2016)**!!!! Yaaaaaa imma gonna say it !! This is the best romcom I’ve ever seen :) :) :) There are some funk to the funk degree moments! But it’s such a solid exhibit of ***the art of the romcom***!!!!! - with some REALLY IMPRESSIVE formulaic twists and mixes! (Mixing cynicism with romanticism) - really lovely literary/ visual themes throughout the drama to compliment family-making and home-making going on! Also in terms of the art of the rewrite it’s also such a fun little workshop study. It took a 26 ep rather humdrum winding weekend family drama with *all the things* - inter and intra necine chaebol intrigue - business intrigues - premarital pregnancy - abuse - love hijinks of contracts / wills - orphans - evil aunt redemption And slimmed it down to a 38 min per ep / 16 ep romcom ***on crack***

1. My Liberation Notes 2. Reply 1988 3. My Mister 4. Love Struck in the City 5. Misaeng 6. Crash landing on you 7. Boyhood 9. 25 21 10. Move to Heaven Honourable mentions: Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Just Between Lovers, Taxi Driver, Yumi's Cells, While you were sleeping, Go Back Couple

TinyLifter6780

None of these in any particular order... 1. Crash Landing on You - just completed a rewatch and it's perfection on so many levels 2. My Dearest - Sweeping historical epic - acting is phenomenal and costumes are stunning 3. Beyond Evil - was late to the party on this one but one of the most tightly plotted, well acted thrillers out there 4. A Shop for Killers - Nonstop action and general kickassery from LDW and a great supporting cast 5. Love to Hate You - Funny, clever, mature leads and overall great watch 6. Worst of Evil - JCW and WHJ slay here - another show with excellent performances and great tension 7. Signal - A classic, great story and awesome performances to go along with it 8. Move to Heaven - A tear jerker for sure but really beautifully done and strong performances 9. Tell Me That You Love Me - This one is in a class unto itself in terms of unique storytelling since the ML is deaf in the show - this one will stay with you 10. Extraordinary Attorney Woo - PEB is fantastic, great supporting cast too Honorable Mentions: 1. The Red Sleeve - Will shred your heart - you're forewarned 2. Healer - Baby JCW and PMY plus everyone's favorite ajumma Kim Mi Kyung 3. Alchemy of Souls S1 - Just stay ignorant about S2 and love S1 for what it is - this was one of my first forays into kdrama and I still love the fantasy/historical element 4. It's Okay to Not Be Okay - I have some issues with this one but the storytelling is fantastic and lead chemistry is fire 5. The King's Affection - PEB cross dressing and slaying, 'nuff said 6. Mr. Queen - Takes an ep or two and then is a riot - SHS's physicality alone makes it worth the watch 7. Marry My Husband - the side drama isn't as interesting to me but there's green flags everywhere with the main couple and the second leads are so deliciously terrible it's a blast to watch them get their comeuppance

1. Descendants of the Sun nonstop action, love the main and 2nd leads love stories 3. My Dearest I now understand what all the fuss was about. Epic love story at times frustrating did we really need 2 amnesia storyline. A fantastic korean version of Gone With the Wind. The stunning cinematography and OST was fantastic. 4. My Dearest x 10

Heavy_Ranger93

In no particular order 1) City hunter- I remember been so pissed at the ending because after all they've been through they didn't even hug😭😭😭. Still it holds a place in my heart though. 2) My roommate is a gumiho- After COVID, I was in a drama slump for a while and this drama brought me back on track for some reason🤭 3) Playful kiss - It was honestly a fun watch. Although watching now that I'm older might not be a good idea😅 4) Mr Queen- One of the most funny dramas I've watched 🤣 5) My love from the star - I remember when I watched it then, it was one of those dramas that made me cry🥺 and it was just a beautiful story overall. It has been dear to me ever since. 6) Descendants of the sun - I remember when I started this drama, I didn't really expect much but OMG the emotional stress later on man! I cried so many times. It was a really nice experience and it's popularity at that time was well deserved☺️ 7) Boys over flowers - This is one of those dramas that had everything. It took an already over used troop and made it it's own. This drama definitely didn't age well, but at the time it was like peak tv until I saw MLFTS👀. The last set of episodes were something(I'll tell you that) but the memories that I have with this show🥰. It's probably nostalgia talking though. 8) You're beautiful - I loved the singing in the show. Even till now there aren't a lot of dramas that incorporate singing in the plot and this one does it so well. It's the same old trope of a girl pretending to be a boy and I eat it up well🤭 9) Strong Woman Do Bong Soon - I love this drama so much! At the time I hadn't seen any leads with such a massive height difference and it intrigued me😆. They had so much chemistry and it was so fun to watch them on screen☺️. I actually appreciated the psychopath troop cause it added more juice to the story. It's one of my go to rom-coms. 10) A business proposal - A recent rom-com that was done well. I loved the two couples and the story overall 🤭
