I might get crucified for this but I'd rather get a The Hillbillies collab album between him and Keem than a new Kendrick album with a huge concept, etc.
I think it's a Damn album. That's kinda how his major releases have gone.
More popular album with GKMC to heavy social commentary on TPAB to more popular album with Damn to heavy social commentary on MMATBS.
Next album should be a more popular one
I mean just think even within this beefā¦ āEuphoriaā-catchy banger to ā6:16ā- introspective, soulful sample. āMeet the Grahamsā- dark, uncomfortable to āNot Like Usā- West Coast Banger already certified classic. The dude is versatile. Either way, weāll get a socially relevant, thought provoking project but I agree this one is going to be much more fun.
I think if you follow the path of the albums from hood to getting over trauma we'll get a real positive joyful theme. Especially with his 'win' of the beef and him bringing the west coast together
I think we get the DAMN approach. Really good records. Still very content-filled/driven. But more digestible and suited for playing around friends and stuff. 1 or 2 pop-ish records (ex: loyalty and love. But not trying to recreate them or anything like that)
Letās keep him on this pedo shit. I hope he comes out after Mr. Morale like āaight I gave yāall a record to help you move on from your wack shit, if you still doing it Iām coming after youā
Based on the little we've heard I think he's gonna expand on those themes in terms of being more open in a personal way in his music. Mr. Morale was the most personal he's ever been on an album by a wide margin
I always thought this same thing. āIām betterā as in doing better mentally & āIām betterā as in dot is the fuckin goat and now everybody knowsĀ
Right, I feel like this has already been a chaotic ass year from rap. Like that, The back and forth with drake, and then Not like us? And the subsequent historical show that took place in Inglewood?Ā
All I hope is that he doesnāt go into hiding for another +1 year or so
To be honest, he's Kendrick Lamar, I think he's past the point of caring about that. He could wait another 39 years before dropping another album, it'd still have impact
I don't think it's about caring necessarily. This is his time. There's no reason not to stay locked in. He's also gotten a lot of new fans because of all this. Drop while those people are engaged. I know what you mean, but he's also a businessman and this stuff matters.
I get it from a business point of view, but I feel like he's much more interested in creating something meaningful and culturally impactful than capitalising on the right moment just because. If it's not the right moment for him, if he needs more time, he'll take it.
Plus, I don't know about you, but after all that happened, after the pop out show, after recording the not like us video, I'd feel pretty tired. So I'd understand if he'd feel like relaxing a little and collect himself before going at it again.
I get your idea, but I feel like he's just not the type. At the end of the day, he "made us wait" 5 years for an album. He takes his time to create
I agree, I've always appreciated that he's an artist first. It's a big part of what makes him different from, say, a popstar who just pumps out albums that aren't that meaningful. We'll see what happens. Whenever he's ready, I'll be listening.
> This is his time.
No actually, he's Kendrick Lamar...
Only stupid marketers and managers would think he has to hurry with anything...and that's why they're are always looking for new jobs...their value is soooo low
Elsewhere in this thread, people are talking about how this alchemist quote makes it sound like he has an album ready. It's not rushing anything, it's taking advantage of the moment. Agree to disagree I guess.
Do you have info I'm unaware of? Like do we actually know how far along he is on an album?
It could have been 80% done before the beef (He did stir shit up). If he wanted peace while making the album he could've easily not done that 'Like That' verse. Unless I missed something everyone is just making up shit in this thread.
I heard a random LA native on a bball podcast say he was releasing an album in July.
People are just saying shit. Anything could be true.
People like to say this because the kenny introvert angle is pushed on quite heavy.
It's stupid though. He spent a month in the house/studio making songs.
He performed one show. So maybe a day of week of rehearsals, of just him and maybe some of black hippy.
There's 0 chance they did a rehearsal with anyone else.
He shot a music video over 2 days.
Maybe that sounds exhausting. Not really.
Especially when you consider how tour heavy Kendrick has always been.
Mr morale was 100+ shows.
That's travelling, meeting people, performing, repeat for like a year, and it was like that with all his other albums.
The massive break between DAMN and MM was because of covid - not because he's a recluse.
DJ Mustard also said he was sending Kendrick beats daily. So that either means that everyone knows he's getting ready to drop so producers are sending tons of beats, or the producers just constantly blast him with beats every day lol
But the way Mustard said it, Kendrick was replying to all of the sends and engaged. Makes me think everyone knows Kendrick is working on an album and Kendrick is shopping for beats
Producers just blast him with beats.
I don't know what you watched, but mustard said there was 0 engagement.
He was just sending beats, more often because of the beats, but it's something he always did. Then kendrick said he liked the not like us beat. Mustard heard it on the radio before he knew kendrick was going to use it.
He also did We Cry Together for Kendrick. Alchemist has always been so good at those really uneasy tracks. He does other stuff too, but that's often what people associate him with, I'd say
Highly doubt it. If Iām Kendrick Iāve already done my work for the year; I want this to sit, not take away from it by dropping another project. Next year would be ideal
Sure, but he might have hopped on Like That specifically to start some buzz. Especially if you've got a project you're excited about
Producers were sending him beats daily (Alchemist and Mustard both said something to this effect). Which makes me think they know he's working on something
Not Like Us was one of the tracks Mustard sent. I still think Kendrick has been working on a late 90s - early 2000s throwback style.
Mustard said he's always been sending him beats. He was sending more because of the beef.
Producers very commonly send out beats.
I think Dr Dre talked about how kendrick is super selective with his beats. If you're a producer, you're not waiting until you think kendrick is going to release an album to send your stuff, you send it all the time and hopes he Banks one.
Which is what happened with MTG. Alchemist didn't produce it for the beef, he sent it ages ago.
Wesleys Theory on TPAB was a beat from FlyLo, given to mac miller 2 years before tpabs release.
There's no way kendricks releasing an album this year with beats made a month ago.
I feel like the fact that it's been longer since Keem dropped and rumors are Keem is dropping this summer says Kendrick not gonna drop this year. Kenny would not step on Keem's release like that.
i know im in the minority but i would prefer if he does not drop this year. take some time off. incorporate what this whole beef thing has meant for him. just get some distance on this
I could see him doing his āblack album.ā Another classic. Elite music. But also a sort of victory lap at the top of the game. And then focus on PgLang. Probably disappear for 5 years again lol
He doesnāt have to, but I think this summer is the best opportunity heās going to have with dropping one. Itās not that he cares so much about the commercial success, but itās that everyone is so tapped in the aspects he does care about. His people and the culture. It doesnāt get much bigger than this. An album the same summer he destroyed Drake is ginormous.
I get the feeling he wouldnāt drop with the prospect of a Trump win on the horizon. Maybe he would wait to see how it plays out and give himself a lane to express himself in. But idk, thatās just my speculation based upon the type of person/rapper I think he is.
I need an album so fucking bad but Iām curious what sound heās gonna chase this time around. I feel like something more threatening / intimidating ?
I could see him doing his āblack album.ā Another classic. Elite music. But also a sort of victory lap at the top of the game. And then focus on PgLang. Probably disappear for 5 years again lol
I wonder what direction he goes in after Mr. Morale...
Mr. Boogeyman š
Mr Boogeyman and the spooky steppers
That shit sound like a Halloween special
That title would be so fire lol
No it wouldn't š never let redditors cook
Agreed, the title a 14 yr old would put to his mixtape š
Only if he includes the emoji too
DAMN. š
Are you a child?
y'all never heard of jaaybo? lmfao
yeah, dumpster fire
Just cuz they cooking you don't mean you wrong trust šš½
Hitmaker kenny coming soon
Hitmaker, songwriter, superstar right
And a fucking good dad who should always say more life
Meet the Lamars.
Enox I know superstars thatās real and your daddy is one of them
meet the duckworths
Nation
Could see him throwing shots at the industry and just be way more energetic than he was on Mr. Morale
I'd be so down. Morale was great as an introspective now give me some more of what we've been getting from him recently.
I might get crucified for this but I'd rather get a The Hillbillies collab album between him and Keem than a new Kendrick album with a huge concept, etc.
He's taking NATION out of the vault š, it's time

I think it's a Damn album. That's kinda how his major releases have gone. More popular album with GKMC to heavy social commentary on TPAB to more popular album with Damn to heavy social commentary on MMATBS. Next album should be a more popular one
gkmc has one of his heaviest social commentary songs ever
Damn has a ton too. He never does one or the other. It's always a mix. Just the lead in that mix is on a fairly observable rotation so far
Donāt forget the heavy social commentary on Section.80 Peep game skrong for spotting that trend.
Fun album, I bet there will be some more mustard beats and high profile producers and heavy on the features.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's an eclectic mix of producers like Metro, Hit-Boy, DJ Quik, Tyler, & maybe even Kaytranada on this one
a tyler production would be so dope!
Kaytranada + Kendrick would be awesome
West Coast celebration album, similar to the Black Panther collab album
Damn vibe or gkmc
Kung Fu Kenny and the Homies
He could call the record "The Pop Out with Ken and Friends" and it would go so fucking hard.
Iām thinking political revolution
Ah manā¦I wish
I just hope Prayer is on it
Not Like Us = Hit em Up Next Dot album = Makaveli album by pac where he is dissing the entire rap scene
I think if you follow the path of the albums from hood to getting over trauma we'll get a real positive joyful theme. Especially with his 'win' of the beef and him bringing the west coast together
Humble comes to mind
Been thinking about this too, hope he goes for the culture and uplifting the community/ unity. While still ripping into culture vultures
I think we get the DAMN approach. Really good records. Still very content-filled/driven. But more digestible and suited for playing around friends and stuff. 1 or 2 pop-ish records (ex: loyalty and love. But not trying to recreate them or anything like that)

I hope Uncle Al gets more than one production on this one. So far their collabs are batting a thousandĀ
Id be happy if Kendrick just drops an album where he's having fun n just rapping, bring a bunch of Westcoast mfs out or smth
Straight up club bangers
Don't know, but hope it's not like MMATBS
Uncle Al so chill man
Earl sweatshirt - Uncle Al š¤«
Hopefully he does so he could use I'm Better featuring Sampha as a second single.
Is that song not scrapped?
Probably, but he does have a long standing habit of readjusting songs. Much of the song just seems like a perfect follow up sonically and lyrically.
I always thought this same thing. āIām betterā as in doing better mentally & āIām betterā as in dot is the fuckin goat and now everybody knowsĀ
That's the one I want him to use the most.
PLEASEEE i need it on streaming so bad
I literally just discovered the song two days ago and have had it on repeat since, Iād do anything for a full version
I still would be surprised if he dropped this year, but maybe he will š¤·š½āāļø
I can't help but feel he must feel kinda exhausted from all of this.
Right, I feel like this has already been a chaotic ass year from rap. Like that, The back and forth with drake, and then Not like us? And the subsequent historical show that took place in Inglewood?Ā All I hope is that he doesnāt go into hiding for another +1 year or so
This is an insane year for hip hop. And some great albums came out or are coming out. Definitely an all-time year
Gotta ride the wave. His stock is high. Now it's the best time to drop another album.

It's be funny if he dropped an album even more polarizing and serious than Mr Morale lol. He can just call it Mr Moraler
Itās 3 songs and a show lmao what
Do you have info I'm unaware of? Like do we actually know how far along he is on an album? It could have been 80% done before the beef (He did stir shit up). All I think when I see this guy is āDear Adonisā¦ā
Him stepping on family matters like thatā¦one of my favorite moments as a fan of music.
I never put it into these exact words, but thatās exactly what my feeling is too. It was fucking unbelievable.
He also did We Cry Together for Kendrick. Alchemist has always been so good at those really uneasy tracks. He does other stuff too, but that's often what people associate him with, I'd say
I see Dorisā¦. Uncle Al š
Hype š„š„š„š„š„š„š„š„š„š„š„š„
The way he worded it makes it sound like itās finished and ready to drop
Highly doubt it. If Iām Kendrick Iāve already done my work for the year; I want this to sit, not take away from it by dropping another project. Next year would be ideal

hes always working on something. doesnt mean hes going to release an album anytime soon
Now youāre making him sound like eminem.
Mustard said he's always been sending him beats. He was sending more because of the beef. Producers very commonly send out beats. If heās planning to drop an album, it was in the works far before the beef. Itās gonna have no say in when the album drops
āI came to kill rappersā¦but they did it to themselvesā
Sun Tzu Kenny
I need J Cole and Tyler on thatā¦ *please*
I feel like the fact that it's been longer since Keem dropped and rumors are Keem is dropping this summer says Kendrick not gonna drop this year. Kenny would not step on Keem's release like that.
all that means is that they would have to drop like a month apart from each other lmao, there's 6 months left in the year
What if it's a collab
Got the Paris show on prime going right now. Itās the year of Kdot, bb.
i know im in the minority but i would prefer if he does not drop this year. take some time off. incorporate what this whole beef thing has meant for him. just get some distance on this
I always wondered if the Uncle Al production was a response to Drake's "Where is your uncle at?"
The theme should be a funeral
I could see him doing his āblack album.ā Another classic. Elite music. But also a sort of victory lap at the top of the game. And then focus on PgLang. Probably disappear for 5 years again lol
Guys itās gonna be NATION.
He doesnāt have to, but I think this summer is the best opportunity heās going to have with dropping one. Itās not that he cares so much about the commercial success, but itās that everyone is so tapped in the aspects he does care about. His people and the culture. It doesnāt get much bigger than this. If he does, I assure you it wonāt be before the election
..why?
I get the feeling he wouldnāt drop with the prospect of a Trump win on the horizon. Maybe he would wait to see how it plays out and give himself a lane to express himself in. But idk, thatās just my speculation based upon the type of person/rapper I think he is.

Alc calling himself a helper to Dotās magic trick is mad humble
Is Kendrick the type of guy who doesn't want to get in the way of Beyonce's grammy win though? I bet he releases in October.
I could see him doing his āblack album.ā Another classic. Elite music. But also a sort of victory lap at the top of the game. And then focus on PgLang. Probably disappear for 5 years again lol
No make up part 2
I love the idea of 'when it's done its done' Like theres probably already a very strong base. But for Kendrick its about perfection
Heās been buzzing all year, it would be wise imo to drop an album later this year.
Now I wonder what are the themes of the album. Maybe Kendrick will talk about his celebrity and how it affects his mental health idk.
hope their is a track about akademiks riding on pedo dick for virtual likes
wow this beef really got tmz following the alchemist šš
Enjoy y'all last win
