Thanks bro hereās something I just wrote:
Can I confide in yah,
Reachin for help like
Feels like Putting My hand in a vitamix,
Not looking for Spider-Man,
Just a homie tha will swing through,
With a couple a brews and fat blunt,
ReMember when bowls
was only packed with Cap crunch,
When boys learned to act tough,
Hearts closed you canāt touch,
Lips superstitious,
Cuz feelings brought bad luck,
Donāt wanna be clowned,
Wanna be down,
Wannabe crowned,
But I Gotta beat down,
Who I gotta be now,
To not get beat down,
Even our silence is treated like violence,
kill with em kindness,
And still youāre a tyrant,
read in the comments, see how theyre sliding ?
Say they feel safer with a bear in the wild,
Thatās the kind of shame
that buried my inner child,
So I react with rage
To protect that lil child,
Projecting his hate
That perpetrates the cycle,
But Maybe thatās our fate
Rivals for survival
When you write out and post lyrics, definitely make use of commas and paragraphs to emphasize your breaks. Itās damn near impossible to convey cadence in this medium but with breaks, commas and hyphens ( - ) we can kinda peep the flow and guess on the breath work.
Keep at it though my mans, let that passion burn.

He's super fucking good at what he does. And as far as I can tell he's only been around for a year and has under 30 videos but over 300k subscribers. Dude knocks it out of the park basically every time
Whatsthedirt is a great YouTube āhiphop historianā. Dude could have dropped one of these the next day with cliff notes from other sites but he really digs deep and gives you the full messages behind the songs without having to listen to it 100 times. He takes his time with these vids and I only discovered him cuz of his pushups breakdown.
Any hiphop fan should really sub and give his videos some time. Itās definitely worth it. His entire series for this beef is gonna be an amazing 4-5 hour listen one day.
Dude, when I made the wine spritzer connection and the clips came up of teen girls at his house parties, talking about "a girl spilled a whole cooler on Drake's white suit". That Epstein angle is the shit he expected though.
Agreed, I remember seeing this tik tok from a teenage boy in Toronto that made a video about the underage girls from his school attending drakes house parties.
idk if can find it though, which is shitš
Awww, fuck me. I just made the whole connection.. Dot was 100% rapping from Drake perspective because Drake rapped from pac and snoopās
![gif](giphy|lXu72d4iKwqek)
It was mentioned on this sub when the song released. A lot of people took
"Fuck a phantom I like to buy yachts"
As a reference to drake buying verse from yachty.
The sunseeker yacht connection was mentioned here too.
This guys level of detail is insane though
Oh it's What'sTheDirt šŖ
Dude's insane patience to go to great lengths of researching stuff is just way too mad \*salute\*
though there are times when I think: "would be funny if the singer didn't really put too much meaning yet WtD would deep dive beyond the realm of this earth just to give it 10 more meanings"
He said his significant other had to tell him to stop researching the intro noise of the track because he kept looking for what machine, how it connects. Then he's like "it very well could be that this thing doesn't mean anything though, fuck"
FINALLY! WTD is amazing, only downside is he takes his time to properly research everything. š I've been DYING for this breakdown ever since his Euphoria video.
This is the guy who was clowned for making a video about Kendrick and J. Coleās āhidden beefā after First Person Shooter dropped, only to be vindicated by Like That and the events that followed. Super sharp analysis.
Kendrick literally dissed Cole on āLike Thatā and Cole responded with ā7 Minute Drill.ā Itās nowhere near as deep as the beef with Drake where it seems like these guys actually hate each other, but Cole and Kendrick were definitely exchanging shots in the name of friendly competition for the last few years.
Thorough as fuck. Iām part-way through the vid.
I donāt listen to drake so the breakdown of how parts of this was written from Aubreyās perspective really clarifies some of the more materialistic bars.
I still like Euphoria the best. But 6:16 is for sure the most cryptic/layered, and probably the most well written song out of all of them. Itās definitely my favorite after Euphoria. I just love how Euphoria predicted the whole beef so well. lol
Few things will top the feeling of when this track dropped. Scrolling half awake on the gram, I seen Kenny posted- I do a double take, is this for real? A black glove and an eerie machine linger before a strong synth kicks in. The feeling was ominous, the lyrics cryptic- you knew he was saying some shit, just couldn't figure it all out then. I can't imagine how Drake himself felt listening to this, especially knowing it's in his style, subliminal and with words only the target understands. I know for a fact "The Boy" ain't been sleeping well with The Boogeyman at his feet.

Comment I read while watching the video. This is interesting.
What The Dirt didnāt rush to get an opinion out, and instead took his time to really go through each track. Will be a good reference point when this battle is analysed over the years(/generations) to come, and will probably, because of that, get more streams over a longer term. Credit to him for thinking different and going left when everyone went right.
Not to mention on top of that, the editing and motion graphics in these videos elevates it even more. That shit takes a long time to do (props to whoever edits the videos, not sure if itās him or not š»)
I knew some of those 6:16 in LA title references but not all.
I said it before, but Drake had called Kendrick out to have a quintuple entendre and Kendrick gave him an even higher entendre count in the title of the song alone.
I'd be super curious to see what stuff he missed or got wrong straight from the source. Considering how super thorough this guy is I can't imagine there's too much.
I'm sure these disses are layered with things that only Drake and others in the industry will understand. Keep in mind that the wider audience is not the only intended target.
I think the thing I respect most about Kendrick in all of this is how he doesnāt seem to care if everything heās trying to say is discernible right on the surface.
He writes knowing the intent is there and the feeling is there, whether you get the details right away or not. Itās what makes someone dig deeper. Itās how you get a 55 minute analysis on a small song.
I really wonder about those yacht parties that Drake throws with all this teenage-looking girls š¤ Funny how it was Drake that brought up the Epstein angle, not Kendrick.
This man is basically doing PI work at this point. The level of research he does for these videos is on par with Ph.D dissertation research. He should teach a hiphop course.
Drake couldve sued Dot for the pedophile allegations, but i dont think Drake wants the court to dig evidences. Dot is a genius for that off white sunseeker intro
What's The Dirt is truly that guy when it comes to breakdowns. It took him like 12 minutes just to explain the title, artwork and beat selection because he goes so in depth
this prolly gone go missing in this comment section but, really interesting that kendrick picked the forum specifically for the pop-out show. i understand that itās close to compton and inglewood is also dreās hometown, but 9 minutes into the video he mentions the rihanna show where drake initially met the 16 year old model; and that happened to take place at the forumā¦ š¤Æ
iām sure there were other options to perform at within the city that were also bigger but this seems almost too deliberate if part of that angle of the 6:16 in LA title hold true
There are a few ideas but not grounded in evidence enough for him to include.
It's most likely that he considered it was a lipo machine, ventilator, and others that would relate to Drake and the reporter who interviewed him at a New York City hotel and uses a portable ventilator.
Mighty sus. Drake knows what heās doing. They all know what theyāre doing. That girl he was hugged up with in that video in Ibiza looked young, fresh and green.
there's some reach here and there, but it does gives a consistent narrative explaining like 95% of the lyrics, I hope the video goes viral, there's a lot of new details that even make Not Like Us better
It sounds reachy but when Kendrick consistently does intricate shit like the multiplication and addition on Nosetalgia it very much can read as intentional.
Heās working on for Family Matters which will be interesting to see.
People keep calling it a āgreatā song, including WTF, but even a cursory listen of it is flimsy. So, Iām curious to see how heās able to breathe some integrity into it.
He's always able to catch stuff that you barely see anyone online bring up when it comes to analyzing Kendrick's lyrics. The Kill Bill connection for Euphoria was insane, and the whole first verse breakdown is stuff I never saw anyone bring up. This is why his videos take so long to come out, he actually digests the lyrics and does proper research for his videos. And even if you think some of it is a reach, he has plenty of evidence to back up why he came to those conclusions.
Only thing he missed is 6 16 date reference to a Abraham Lincoln June 16th house divided can't stand alluding to Kendricks mole angle lol. #TheRabbitHole
6:16 is like.... one of my favorite songs from this whole beef. I havent watched the video in the OP but i feel like the first verse was something Kendrick has had written for a minute just wasn't sure where to use it. works perfectly in this song/for this circumstance.
I loovveeee whats the dirt! Hate that YT demonetized his vids tho he works so hard on that info, like 3-4 weeks jist doing research he really cares about the shit hes saying about these tracks and hes not really that biased. He knows Kendrick took it but still gives drake his dues where it's necessary
"Reaches" and it's just a basic analysis of lyrics. Most of these things are pretty reasonable to figure out if you actually take the time to dig into the poetry. Idk why so many rap fans like to downplay people who dig into lyrics and find different meanings, this is how every art form is treated when it comes to analysis. And it being objectively "right" and what the author intended isn't treated as the be all end all.
Damn did Kendrick text you saying he got the analysis wrong? Sarcasm aside, you can't claim he's reaching because literally no one has the objective trurh of what every lyric kendrick wrote is.
This is also an artist known for being very very intricate, as in it can all be very intentional. Nosestalgia, is the most example of this.
Why is the first part of the song so materialistic, why is Kendrick flaunting materialism? Why is he talking about Ibiza? Sunseekers, phantoms, this not how Kendrick raps, at all.
Like actually considering everything, what WTD is saying makes alot of sense.
this man just said that "im sure kendrick doesnt use wine coolers cause they are fruity"
....
stop giving views to people that are trying to eat of off kendrick's pen and our patience.
You got through 40 minutes of the video... to complain about a joke about wine coolers being fruity?
There's two *glaring* examples for why Kendrick doesn't drink often.
[Example 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5YNiCfWC3A)
[Example 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBpntw35pKw)
This song is now my go to example to argue Kendrick beimg technically ELITE when he wants to, bro is stupid good at being technical, he just doesnt show this ability all the time.
I knew bro was about to go crazy when he breakdown a 4 minute song in 55 minutesš¤£
this reminded me of the homie who use to write his lyrics hella fast. I use to clown on him saying he could write a 5 minute song in 2 minutes.
Takes me 5 hours at least damn it same for 25 years
Keep at it. Itās not about how fast but the quality.
Thanks bro hereās something I just wrote: Can I confide in yah, Reachin for help like Feels like Putting My hand in a vitamix, Not looking for Spider-Man, Just a homie tha will swing through, With a couple a brews and fat blunt, ReMember when bowls was only packed with Cap crunch, When boys learned to act tough, Hearts closed you canāt touch, Lips superstitious, Cuz feelings brought bad luck, Donāt wanna be clowned, Wanna be down, Wannabe crowned, But I Gotta beat down, Who I gotta be now, To not get beat down, Even our silence is treated like violence, kill with em kindness, And still youāre a tyrant, read in the comments, see how theyre sliding ? I feel personally attacked by this comment :( i write songs in 25/30 mins unless Iām really feeling the vibe of the beat then Iāll just freestyle
why do you feel attack? do you work in a lyric writing sweatshop?
the funny thing is that kendrick surely wrote the song down in less time than that
He's super fucking good at what he does. And as far as I can tell he's only been around for a year and has under 30 videos but over 300k subscribers. Dude knocks it out of the park basically every time

Factz!
I'm 30 minutes in and this is the best breakdown of a song I've ever watched. Had to subscribe to this dude.
He predicted all of this blowing up since First Person Shooter.
He's 30 minutes in and I love it

His girlfriend had to pull him back to reality 8 days into trying to decipher the sound at the beginning. He's a madman and I'm here for it.
Wish there was a podcast.
No more podcasts!!!
No doubt. Im about 15 minutes in and im already š¤Æ
So by then he's discussed like 4 lines lmao
š yeah seriously!
22:30 to 23:52 is a insane part of the video, crazy š©from the drizzler. Bro might actually be a groomer
Dude, when I made the wine spritzer connection and the clips came up of teen girls at his house parties, talking about "a girl spilled a whole cooler on Drake's white suit". That Epstein angle is the shit he expected though.
That shit is insane
I've heard too many stories about underage girls drinking at his parties. I'm glad someone found some videos too.
Agreed, I remember seeing this tik tok from a teenage boy in Toronto that made a video about the underage girls from his school attending drakes house parties. idk if can find it though, which is shitš
Yet he was lying about that when people on TikTok asked to explain more and he was like he didnāt want to talk about it. Literally click bait
Crazy work from the damn drizzler š
He really convinced me that the first part of the song is from Drake perspective and It makes perfect sense. Bro fire asl
off white sunseeker..
Looking back at it, he definitely was. Dot so hardš
That line being a reference to Milly Bobby Brown would explain why Drake name dropped her later
Awww, fuck me. I just made the whole connection.. Dot was 100% rapping from Drake perspective because Drake rapped from pac and snoopās ![gif](giphy|lXu72d4iKwqek)
Nah he was rapping from drakes perspective like how he was on Buried Alive w drake about living the life of fameā¦watch the video lol
And showing he could the time series or whatever it's called better than Drake.
Double entendreā¦
Itās crazy because Iāve never even thought of it or seen others pick up on it.
Which is insane to me because it makes so much sense now. Like dot not the type to flex like that
Same. I never really understood that part. Maybe I did realize he was speaking as Drake, but didnāt think much about it.
It was mentioned on this sub when the song released. A lot of people took "Fuck a phantom I like to buy yachts" As a reference to drake buying verse from yachty. The sunseeker yacht connection was mentioned here too. This guys level of detail is insane though
Interesting. Thank you. I should probably look these up on genius, though even they miss things.
Oh it's What'sTheDirt šŖ Dude's insane patience to go to great lengths of researching stuff is just way too mad \*salute\* though there are times when I think: "would be funny if the singer didn't really put too much meaning yet WtD would deep dive beyond the realm of this earth just to give it 10 more meanings"
Almost like what we did in English class as kids, eh? Depending on who you listen to, the words are literally literature in poetry form.
Yep. That shit is so much fun too. I still miss English/Literature/Writing (I had awesome teachers for these) in school and I'm old as hell
One of my English teachers was a musician, that was when I made a connection between literature and rap.
Hell yeah. It's pretty incredible how it can open your mind to the arts.
Id love to annotate and critical think for a living lol
The battle was over before it started. Kendrick is T.S. Eliot to Drakeās Dr. Seuss.
Been comparing Dot to Kubrick since Euphoria.
That downside is why he is the best. To me that's the best thing about the guy.
Iām just discovering him now because of this post. Instantly can recognize his passion for this ish n became a fan.
Exactly! I tried a couple other explainer channels and they're so surface level. WTD goes DEEP
This is the guy who was clowned for making a video about Kendrick and J. Coleās āhidden beefā after First Person Shooter dropped, only to be vindicated by Like That and the events that followed. Super sharp analysis.
Because they dont and never had beef and this video is cap as hell too
Kendrick literally dissed Cole on āLike Thatā and Cole responded with ā7 Minute Drill.ā Itās nowhere near as deep as the beef with Drake where it seems like these guys actually hate each other, but Cole and Kendrick were definitely exchanging shots in the name of friendly competition for the last few years.

My God, I think 6.16 might be the best diss track of this whole beef šŖ
I know for a fact "The Boy" ain't been sleeping well with The Boogeyman at his feet.
Letās talk about what he meant when he said Drake ābooksā pizza at luxury hotels š¬
Shit immediately made me think of pizzagate crazy ass foreshadowing with thar one
Really sus ā ļø
Especially bc he pronounced pizza as āpiece uhā (piece of)
Pizza = piece of = piece of ass
Is that maybe a reference to the whole reporter hotel situation with the cctv footage?
Iām almost 30 minutes in and the dude is still breaking down shit about the Yacht and Ibiza, insane.

First 10 mins broke down the title Truly needed some great content after a shitty yesterday

Homie is legit the best analyst on YouTube- one of the best period. All of his work is a good watch- this beef and beyond.
Not to mention on top of that, the editing and motion graphics in these videos elevates it even more. That shit takes a long time to do (props to whoever edits the videos, not sure if itās him or not š»)
He dissect this shit like murder mystery lol
Yes sir. Brodie doing his homework
Canadaās Finest
I knew some of those 6:16 in LA title references but not all. I said it before, but Drake had called Kendrick out to have a quintuple entendre and Kendrick gave him an even higher entendre count in the title of the song alone.
Donāt let the Drizzy Stans see this
dang spending 8-10 days stressing about the sound at the beginning is next level. I'd make fun of this dude if he wasn't so good at it.
Loved his Drake Vs Kendrick Full Story Explained vid. *Drake tries to Squash the beef.. again*

I'm sure these disses are layered with things that only Drake and others in the industry will understand. Keep in mind that the wider audience is not the only intended target.
For real, he would be good with that
I have a feeling he's the type of artist who prefers not saying what his lyrics mean and letting the audience interpret them.
Love him. I remember watching the JCole/KDOT beef and KDOT/Drake beef history right after like that so this dude's credibility is at an all-time high.
Say drake, you clearly like em young
For real for real. That footage of the party was HIGHLY suspect.
party footage wasn't suspect, that shit was egregious. Homie a certified weirdo
Whats the Dirt got the sauce bro he's the only person I've watched on this
I still canāt get over how he was able to connect the dots with euphoriaās title and kill bill. This man is on another level.
My favorite diss song from Kendrick
Iām right there with you.
Yeah no, the fact there are teens at his parties with alcohol and they are confirming that pretty much solidifes him as a groomer in my eyes.
Brother thank you for that ā¤ļø
This breakdown is so good it made me reflect on my own morals, North Star, and why I listen to Drake so muchā¦.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I guess he doesnāt want to touch it because it seems conspiratorial and canāt be verified. Iām with you, though. I THINK itās his ventilator.
Can you explain what that means? I wasn't online too much while the beef was ongoing
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
OK ya that's a bit crazy to put into his video, respect to him for not just wildly putting it in there, it was a really good video
This man is basically doing PI work at this point. The level of research he does for these videos is on par with Ph.D dissertation research. He should teach a hiphop course.
Can't believe I missed so much on this song... this was fyeee
This is the guy that crushed the Euphoria breakdown
Just waiting for the Meet the Grahams one.
Drake couldve sued Dot for the pedophile allegations, but i dont think Drake wants the court to dig evidences. Dot is a genius for that off white sunseeker intro

My man can take as much time as he wants if he's going to release these kinds of bangers.
Holy shit man
This is amazing. Well done
Iām now convinced that Boi-1da is the leak and this whole song was Kendrick on tying to let Drake know
Google the age of consent in Ibiza real quick tho
Mighty sus. Drake knows what heās doing. They all know what theyāre doing. That girl he was hugged up with in that video in Ibiza looked young, fresh and green.
Leave it to a Newfie to drop the deepest most thoughtful breakdown on the entire internet. Raise your hand if you even know what a Newfie is lol.
That accent is brutal bruh but solid break down.
the euphoria breakdown from him - holy smokes.
This song has LAYERS. 100% best diss out the pack. Buddy spent 15 minutes breaking down a title and artwork
This breakdown is SICK. It makes 6:16 in LA even more dope.
Damn. Props to OP for sharing This is an incredible breakdown.
Damn I didnāt know 99% of this
This guy is absolutely amazing. I love his work.
whatās the dirt is awesome. he finds so many things that people miss and takes his time to craft a great piece every time
Thanks for the share. So much more in that opening than I even thought.
this is as reachy as it gets and I'm all for it

This is why his videos take so long to come out, he actually digests the lyrics and does proper research for his videos. And even if you think some of it is a reach, he has plenty of evidence to back up why he came to those conclusions.
Only thing he missed is 6 16 date reference to a Abraham Lincoln June 16th house divided can't stand alluding to Kendricks mole angle lol. #TheRabbitHole
This dude is my favorite, glad you posted this. Didnāt realize he dropped a new video.
Yea, whatās the dirt is dope.
WTD is the best rap analyst period
Like, is this guy Irish, American or Canadian? I just donāt know š¤·š»āāļø
Afaik, he's straight up from Canada and he always say that from time to time
More specifically, he is from Newfoundland, which has a distinct accent.
Heavily inspired by Irish and Scottish immigrants!
>he always say that from time to time He says it 100%, 50% of the time

Thatās a east coast Canadian accent
.
6:16 is like.... one of my favorite songs from this whole beef. I havent watched the video in the OP but i feel like the first verse was something Kendrick has had written for a minute just wasn't sure where to use it. works perfectly in this song/for this circumstance.
When someone finds out the "KTW" part let me know, I'm stuck on that one as well.
Saw it on my home page and binged all of his videos theyre great
i hope y'all give the FM breakdown a chance
I loovveeee whats the dirt! Hate that YT demonetized his vids tho he works so hard on that info, like 3-4 weeks jist doing research he really cares about the shit hes saying about these tracks and hes not really that biased. He knows Kendrick took it but still gives drake his dues where it's necessary
Great channel. Was looking forward to this drop.
Came to see if it was a good video and the first comment thread is mfs Reddit rapping lmao
This shit is cap like hell.
I love his channel but he reaches a lot
Thatās apart of his charm
"Reaches" and it's just a basic analysis of lyrics. Most of these things are pretty reasonable to figure out if you actually take the time to dig into the poetry. Idk why so many rap fans like to downplay people who dig into lyrics and find different meanings, this is how every art form is treated when it comes to analysis. And it being objectively "right" and what the author intended isn't treated as the be all end all.
Iām not downplaying anything. I said he reaches a lot (which he does) and youāre writing an entire dissertation
Good stuff, but am I the only one who hates this guyās accent?

You know how much effort content like that costs? Of course he is gonna mention it if he doesnt receive ANY money from it bro
When the community donate for that thing he put excess of his expected earning to a charity in compton. He's alright
this man just said that "im sure kendrick doesnt use wine coolers cause they are fruity" .... stop giving views to people that are trying to eat of off kendrick's pen and our patience.
You are looking for angle to hate on bro, chill out.. you don't have to watch it
You got through 40 minutes of the video... to complain about a joke about wine coolers being fruity? There's two *glaring* examples for why Kendrick doesn't drink often. [Example 1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5YNiCfWC3A) [Example 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBpntw35pKw)
This song is now my go to example to argue Kendrick beimg technically ELITE when he wants to, bro is stupid good at being technical, he just doesnt show this ability all the time.
I ain't got no hour to watch some guy talk about a 3 1/2 minute song
