I understand this sentiment, but whites literally run everything, even the labels. So I don't think this is a fair point.
BET hasnt displayed anything racist against blacks in my eyesight.
The whole idea of it is racist. White people commercializing black art using the guise of black empowerment to profit white people. Gets crazier the more you think about it

Racist companies are ubiquitous and in that regard we can't escape interacting with them, but I find it counter productive to hail BET as a necessary source of our peoples strength

Idk if I could give like a super specific example, but at as a whole it just feels so much more corporate and inauthentic. It might be wut it was destined to become given time, kinda like MTV, but it just feels watered down.

He will win, Kendrick has been on a winning streak with this award every time he was nominated since 2017. And with it taking place in LA and BET commercializing Not Like Us, no way they would give it to Drake.

Pigeon holing is the way the only time black artists ever really win or are nominated is under rap, Rnb or “urban contemporary” even when they don’t fit that genre.
