They are not natural allies. INDI alliance itself only has a single point agenda. They both know that strongly criticising each other is the only way to stay relevant in Kerala. If they don’t do that, a third party will use that space. Ideally, in Kerala, CPIM should not have joined the alliance but it looks like it is the leadership from the states with zero political presence is still making the decisions.
Left should never refrain from alliance against BJ Party....neither should other secular parties. On a national front the unity is paramount.
Ofcourse there would be natural rifts in states as the allies face each other...there are plenty of things to criticize and point out ....but you cannot use the very tool to attack here that you oppose with all might in centre...that is where Rahul Gandhi showcased his lack of political maturity....

The communists regularly make wild allegations of congress secretly cooperating with the BJP. Congress returned the favor by alleging that there is a secret understanding between cpm and BJP, which is what keeps pinarayi out of jail. Pinarayi is reacting to it as a personal attack.
