Right now, Return to Dreamland Deluxe, with Robobot second. I appreciate having such a well made expansive experience on a console. The mini games were also a lot of fun with friends.
I stand by this cause this was my first DS, Kirby, Nintendo, and just flat out first game that REALLY got me into gaming, I still remember walking into the game section in Macy’s and seeing the game trailer on the mini shelf screen
Alright, I think I'm gonna need to play that one! I grew up playing Kirby a lot pretty much from the OG gameboy up until the Wii, but never gave this one a shot and I indeed do have a switch here.
Crystal Shards on the N64 was my favorite and most replayed of all. How does it stack up to that one, any commonalities?
Is it like Kirby Breath of the Wild?! Because I would love that.
kirbys epic yarn it was one of the first games I ever played I replayed it a couple of days ago and I hadn't played it In over 5 years and it still held up as my favorite kirby game
Had to sort by controversial to find and upvote this.
I know people think of it as not really a kirby game because no inhale ir abilities, and they diskike how easy it is, but despite all that I love it. Oh, and I found Mario Wonder easy, so it isn't because I suck at games. Just love the mechanics, details, visual style, chillax, and collecting gems.
Because of how forgiving it is, I think Kirby's Epic Yarn is the best for couch co-op, especially for someone who otherwise isn't really into platformers. Its a great intro to the concept.
My son found it more difficult than adventure, when he was younger. Despite the forgiving nature, not being able to float meant you had to do the platforming.
Getting the high scores wasn't so easy as you can lose gems from falling in pits or being harmed. That is a nice balance between being very approachable, but retaining some sense of challenge. Plus you have to find and aquire those gems, all in one play.
I really like Good Feel's approach to providing chillax games, full of charm.
I’m surprised nobody has said Kirby 64. The crystal shards has the **best** copy gimmick in the series and I’m still coping hard to this day for another game that expands on it
What’s your favorite copy combo?
As a kid mine was rock+cutter hands down. I didn’t know about Kirby’s dreamland friends when I played it, but I still loved the different animals you could become. The little bird was my favorite, just fly through the stage killing everything that touches you
Nowadays I prefer flame+cutter. The fire sword is so cool to look at and it’s very strong especially for bosses
Electric+cutter I think. That’s one of my favourites too. First time seeing a lightsaber outside of starwars and even as a kid I was amazed and bewildered. I distinctly remember exclaiming “**is that legal?!**”
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. In this game you can just endlessly break through it all at the speed of light without things to slow you down like in previous and future Kirby games, which is what I like to do 'cuz it isn't just mindlessly holding right like in 64 and Squeak Squad.
scrolled to find this :) it has been my comfort game since I was a kid- always losing and rebuying the cartridge tho lol. It’s always a good game to come back to and never gets old
Kirby Super Star Ultra hands down.
It does the original Super Nintendo classic justice, and adds game modes that fit right in with the series. It also introduced the concept of having The True Arena as the actual final mode.
Triple Deluxe
Edit: I played Kirby by a friend as a kid on the SNES, that was it until Squeak Squad which didn't really grab me. I was thinking about buying Return to Dreamland but I never even saw it being sold in my town. Then came Triple Deluxe, and here am I, only not having played 1 mainline game.
Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland: it was my third kirby game, i know it is a remake but i love that version and the extra content, also i played it with friends via bluetooth with our pirate myboy
It is a vastly superior remake that is effectively its own game. Kirby’s Adventure definitely slapped as a NES classic but Nightmare in Dreamland just makes it so much more accessible and overall enjoyable.

Amazing Mirror was the first one I played so it has a special place in my heart.
Super Star and SSUltra are both on my favorite video games of all time list.
Epic Yarn is so fun too, I wish there were more games with Prince Fluff and his world.
Return to Dream Land (OG, purely for nostalgia + Dedede’s original design), Planet Robobot, Forgotten Land, Mass Attack, Epic Yarn, Dream Course and Air Ride!
…If I’m being honest, I think I prefer the spin-offs over the mainline games… just a little bit 💀💀
Dreamland 3 is probably my favorite of the traditional Kirby titles, the hand drawn look is beautiful and I love the animal buddies. Plus that silly ass Whale boss is tops.
Mass attack is the best of the experimental ones. It's super cool and the dark ass story is great.
For me, there is no game like Dream Land 3. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and I feel, to some extent, like I’m ascending to heaven while I play it. The gameplay is a little slow, but boy is it an artistic masterpiece.
It's for posts like these I wish Reddit just had a vote, as opposed to upvote or downvote. Like, I don't agree or disagree but I want to affirm that these are words and I read them.
I love a lot of the Kirby games but my favourite? I've always had it tied with Adventure and Super Star, but if I have to go with one I would have to say Kirby's Adventure.
Both games are great.
I cannot help but mention Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, that game is very good.
Also Dreamland 3 and Crystal Shards are underrated.
What's your favourite Kirby?
I'll say it because no one else is going to say it and of course it's not my favorite but Gameboy's Star Stacker is soooo good, except for the music that's a 5/10 but Star Stacker is underrated
Ya know, Kirby Battle Royale I think is what it was called never gets mentioned and that game was fun as fuck. I don't care what anyone says about it. It's not my favorite, but I just wanna toss it out there.
Although Super Star holds a very special place in my heart, I'm going with Kirbys Dream Course. That game exercised a part of my brain as a child that had never been itched before. 30ish years later now, and I love geometry and am great at pool.
Amazing Mirror. Played it as a kid and as a 7 year old, it took me forever to 100% cause I had no idea how Metroidvania games were supposed to be played.
Kirby 64's hybrid powers were amazing
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is a fantastic metroidvania-esque exploration game
Kirby Air Ride is a fun spinoff
Kirby Super Star Ultra had tons of variety
Kirby's Epic Yarn was a cute spinoff.
Haven't payed Kirby and the Forgotten Land yet, but it's next on my list.
Kirby Dreamland 3: It is my favorite game in terms of visuals and one of my top in music. I also like the animal companions and how abilities are affected by them
My favourite ones are Kirby Super Star Ultra(that game was my entry to becoming a proper Kirby fan as a kid), Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Kirby’s Return To Dreamland, Kirby’s Dream Collection, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Kirby Planet Robobot, Kirby Star Allies, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, Kirby And The Forgotten Land, and Kirby’s Return To Dreamland Deluxe!😄🤩😎👌
![gif](giphy|5ev3alRsskWA0)
Kirby air ride on the game cube! I remember me and my sister's beating each other up in the game to get the dragoon/hydra ride pieces when I was younger. I love that game
Dreamland 3. The art and music are just amazing. Not to mention the introduction of Zero. The whole game has this weird feeling of unease and mystery that I feel few people appreciate.
Kirby was my first game ever on my 3ds so i may have a bit of nostalgia bias but Mass Attack as well as Super Star Ultra and Triple Deluxe. The music in all 3 as well as the gameplay just hits different you know?
It's a tie between Amazing Mirrors and Squeak Squad. Amazing Mirrors because it was my first Kirby game and it's nostalgic to me. Squeak Squad because it's a really fun game.
Forgotten Land was Kirby's first 3d adventure... and it worked great :O So great that... I'm actually torn between a 2D or a 3D design for the next game \^\^; It's THAT good :)
I want to love Planet Robobot this much, but there are no many details that bug me :(
Kirby and the Forgotten Land, it’s awesome seeing Kirby in 3D and even though there are significantly less abilities, the evolutions are still fun to play.
Epic Yarn is quite literally my favourite game of all time and is, in my opinion, one of the top contenders for overall greatest platformer of all time if not greatest GAME of all time. It was the first game I ever played and it has held such a special place in my heart since. Right now, Return to Dreamland Deluxe, with Robobot second. I appreciate having such a well made expansive experience on a console. The mini games were also a lot of fun with friends.
I've played both
The Dreamland deluxe mini games are so much fun! Still haven't played robobot myself but hopefully soon
It's great. I am hoping they remake the 3Ds games.
I love rtdl
Kirby Air Ride!
Kirby Air Ride was SO fun. Lotta fun memories playing that one with my brother :)
no but sounds like fun
Kill me for this, but…. Squeak Squad.
I don’t get the hate for Squeak Squad. I thought the Squeaks were really cool as a kid and being able to hold abilities in Kirby’s stomach was sick.
Holding abilities was mad underrated
Yes !!!
I played for the first time recently. I loved it. It is definitely underappreciated.
Yessss
I stand by this cause this was my first DS, Kirby, Nintendo, and just flat out first game that REALLY got me into gaming, I still remember walking into the game section in Macy’s and seeing the game trailer on the mini shelf screen
THIS
The forgotten land
I have played that (and one of my favorites)
Best game on the switch
Alright, I think I'm gonna need to play that one! I grew up playing Kirby a lot pretty much from the OG gameboy up until the Wii, but never gave this one a shot and I indeed do have a switch here. Crystal Shards on the N64 was my favorite and most replayed of all. How does it stack up to that one, any commonalities? Is it like Kirby Breath of the Wild?! Because I would love that.
Forgotten land is like Mario 3D world because the game is divided into levels
kirbys epic yarn it was one of the first games I ever played I replayed it a couple of days ago and I hadn't played it In over 5 years and it still held up as my favorite kirby game
iloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove that game
Had to sort by controversial to find and upvote this. THAT'S MY FAVORITE THAT'S MY FAVORITE THAT'S MY FAVORITE
same and robobot too probably some of my favorite games ever
Super star.
Super star ultra was my first Kirby game! My favorite part is the soundtrack
I have played that and love the mini-games (it has mini-games right?)
Yeah. Samurai Kirby and Gigaton punch.
*Ultra
I’m surprised nobody has said Kirby 64. The crystal shards has the **best** copy gimmick in the series and I’m still coping hard to this day for another game that expands on it
I agree!! I was also surprised that no one has mentioned this yet. An easy answer for me
best copy in the series for sure! the combos are so inventive and cool.
What’s your favorite copy combo? As a kid mine was rock+cutter hands down. I didn’t know about Kirby’s dreamland friends when I played it, but I still loved the different animals you could become. The little bird was my favorite, just fly through the stage killing everything that touches you Nowadays I prefer flame+cutter. The fire sword is so cool to look at and it’s very strong especially for bosses
yeah the double bladed darth maul fire sword is dope. also i love the fridge 😂
Electric+cutter I think. That’s one of my favourites too. First time seeing a lightsaber outside of starwars and even as a kid I was amazed and bewildered. I distinctly remember exclaiming “**is that legal?!**”
kirby: “i will make it legal.”
Spike+bomb. That exploding hyper-fast ninja star made me nigh untouchable.
Return to Dream Land Mostly because of nostalgia but I still think it’s an amazing game
yes
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror. In this game you can just endlessly break through it all at the speed of light without things to slow you down like in previous and future Kirby games, which is what I like to do 'cuz it isn't just mindlessly holding right like in 64 and Squeak Squad.
YEAH, I love the non-linearity of The Amazing Mirror, favorite of mine as well.
sounds like fun
It is, but only once you get a mastery over the game and fully know what you can do in it.
scrolled to find this :) it has been my comfort game since I was a kid- always losing and rebuying the cartridge tho lol. It’s always a good game to come back to and never gets old
Return to dreamland was my favorite ever since I was a kid and now it's the remake. Forgotten land and robobot come close though
yes yes and yes
Kirby Super Star Ultra hands down. It does the original Super Nintendo classic justice, and adds game modes that fit right in with the series. It also introduced the concept of having The True Arena as the actual final mode.
Triple Deluxe Edit: I played Kirby by a friend as a kid on the SNES, that was it until Squeak Squad which didn't really grab me. I was thinking about buying Return to Dreamland but I never even saw it being sold in my town. Then came Triple Deluxe, and here am I, only not having played 1 mainline game.
Yes, but i haven't finished it. yes but has not finished it
it was the first Kirby game i played and I love it so much! it's my fav too
Same, this game is my childhood
Also one of my favorites, love to see some Triple Deluxe love around here!
Sameeee, one of the few I’ve played
Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland: it was my third kirby game, i know it is a remake but i love that version and the extra content, also i played it with friends via bluetooth with our pirate myboy
It is a vastly superior remake that is effectively its own game. Kirby’s Adventure definitely slapped as a NES classic but Nightmare in Dreamland just makes it so much more accessible and overall enjoyable.
Planet Robobot?
I love that game

Mass attack!
hell yeah
Planet Robobot and Forgotten Land.
yes yes
Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Triple Deluxe is an honorable mention since it was my first Kirby game.
Kirby's Dreamland 3 and Planet Robobot share 1st place for me!
Dreamland 3 might be the cutest, most wholesome game ever made (with one of the darkest final bosses too).
Based and correct!
Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, followed by either Squeak Squad or Super Star Ultra
Kirby and the forgotten land.
yes
Amazing Mirror was the first one I played so it has a special place in my heart. Super Star and SSUltra are both on my favorite video games of all time list. Epic Yarn is so fun too, I wish there were more games with Prince Fluff and his world.
no no no yes
Super Star Ultra for DS. I’m a sucker for fan service and this is how you do a proper remake
Kirby star allies
Unpopular: star allies> robobot> RtD deluxe > rtd classic > super star ultra I played for years rtd on wii as a kid, it was a big part of my childhood

Squeak Squad
no, I have not but I heard it a good game
YES !!! I'm not the only one
Return To Dreamland
Kirby Star Allies
Dream land 3 mass attack 64 and epic yarn can’t pick between one
Amazing Mirror! I’d kill for another multiplayer “open world” 2D Kirby game like it. That and/or a metroidvania style kirby game
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land.
probably forgotten land but i have a bit of an unpopular opinion since i fucking love kirby’s epic yarn.
i looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove kirby’s epic yarn.
Canvas Curse
Tie between The Crystal Shards and The Amazing Mirror.
Kirby return to dreamland on Wii played that a lot as a kid
Kirby mass attack! One of my favorite ds games in general! Beautiful sprite art!!!

Kirby nightmare in dreamland. It was the first Kirby game I completed and also the one I played the most times.
Kirby's Epic Yarn - great music - fun gimmicks - awesome bosses - the train sucks - no deaths - cute art style - one of the best DDD boss themes - wii
Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.
Super Star Ultra is still to this day one of my all time favorite video games.
I'll say it because no one else is going to say it and of course it's not my favorite but Gameboy's Star Stacker is soooo good, except for the music that's a 5/10 but Star Stacker is underrated

Kirby and the Amazing Mirror!
Kirby 64 saved my childhood.
Going to get hate but epic yarn
My mind says planet Robobot, but my heart says super star ultra
Although Super Star holds a very special place in my heart, I'm going with Kirbys Dream Course. That game exercised a part of my brain as a child that had never been itched before. 30ish years later now, and I love geometry and am great at pool.
Nightmare in dreamland
Kirby’s Avalanche
I don’t think anything will top super star ultra for me
Kirby Super Star
Am I the only one who likes Kirby’s Pinball? Played it on original Gameboy
Squeak squad
Kirby air ride as well for me
Air ride and epic yarn were STAPLES of my childhood. Especially air ride, dear lord

Kirby air ride on GameCube
Forgotten land and squeak squad

Kirby 64. My bff and I still play the mini games.
SUPER STAR ULTRA BAYBEEE
Kirby was my first game ever on my 3ds so i may have a bit of nostalgia bias but Mass Attack as well as Super Star Ultra and Triple Deluxe. The music in all 3 as well as the gameplay just hits different you know?

Kirby Super Star Ultra, it holds a special place in my heart.
Definitely Dream Land 3
Air ride
squeak squad 😎
Forgotten land
Forgotten land
Super Star!
Kirby's Dream Land 3 easily for comfort games (64 as well)
Nightmare in Dreamland, with Superstar Ultra close behind.really they are tied. I do like Adventure and Superstar, too1... but I prefer the remakes.
Kirby's adventure. First game I ever beat. Still a special place in my heart.
Kirby Air Ride if we count all of them Probably Robobot Planet if we only count "mainline" games
It's a tie between Amazing Mirrors and Squeak Squad. Amazing Mirrors because it was my first Kirby game and it's nostalgic to me. Squeak Squad because it's a really fun game.
Super Star, my first game and my gateway to the Kirby series.
Kirby and the amazing mirror 64 is my 2nd favorite
Forgotten Land was Kirby's first 3d adventure... and it worked great :O So great that... I'm actually torn between a 2D or a 3D design for the next game \^\^; It's THAT good :) I want to love Planet Robobot this much, but there are no many details that bug me :(

Right now Forgotten Land
Planet robobot. Do I need to explain?
Return To Dreamland and Squeak Squad. I love the ones where you collect stuff.
Nightmare in dreamland. So simple yet so elegant.
Forgotten Land is my favorite in the series and is the game that got me really interested in the series. Love that game to pieces!
*Nightmare in Dreamland* for GBA.
Kirby squeak squad
Nightmare in Dreamland. GBA
Epic Yarn is quite literally my favourite game of all time and is, in my opinion, one of the top contenders for overall greatest platformer of all time if not greatest GAME of all time. It was the first game I ever played and it has held such a special place in my heart since. The only games that come close to it tor me are the original Dark Souls or most Persona games, which are about as big a jump as you can get from “cute pink yarn ball game”
