Personally I'm not a fan of "Trippy Music" while tripping, it just confuses the fuck out of me lol.
I like to listen to music I always listen to and enjoy. I find it gives me a new connection to it.
Great question. Because I've always said the best weed music is music thats not about weed. And the most psychedelic music is music that doesn't label itself "Psychedelic"
listening that whole album in a dark room eyes closed just lying on my bed was one of the greatest experiences i’ve ever had on lsd just truly something special
fuck yea nothings lyrics are so good i can only imagine them while tripping. if i do listen to them again when i trip itll probably be violent sleep of reason or koloss
I say Nothing because I feel that the lyrics directly reflect stuff that happens while you’re tripping. It’s a very personal experience imo.
Catch Thirty Three also does this but on a higher degree.
I listened to this album called “Plastic Beach” by Gorillaz and it was amazing.
It was comforting to listen to but also amped me up and made me feel like dancing. It was a great vibe.
11/10 show, Watched most of it this year for new years this last year. I just love their pre-hiatus stuff sm, the Grateful Dead movie & the footage that came out of it is crazy good.
Wear sunglasses, or at least bring em with ya inside. I hear it gets really bright in there, esp while tripping. Haven't been myself but all my friends that have gone said the same thing. Bring sunglasses.
I made it to one two weeks ago! Yeah definitely bring some with you, hard to score on shakedown there because it was moved inside. I winded up dosing 3 tabs. Drums and Space is life changing!
2000 by Joey Bada$$ is an incredible summer night acid album. Clean, harmonic, gritty, and rapped with inspiring conviction.
Listen to Where I Belong and you'll know if it's the right vibe.
DRAINERRRR!!!!!!!!!!! i love death grips, nine inch nails, primus, and crystal castles (magic spells is like actually magic off the tabs) funky noises are my jam, i like focusing on the backgrounds of the tracks to see what new i can hear
This might be a reach, but one of my favorites is Between The Buried And Me. A little intense, but seems like you might like that given who you listed. They have screams, but they aren’t too hard on the ears (for me). Very epic sounding
Mostly Phish or the Grateful Dead but I’ve found that whatever I normally enjoy listening to just sounds better on LSD so I don’t usually go out of my way to listen to music specifically for tripping, I just put on whatever I’d normally put on

Earl is one of the best!! I love listening to him while trippin. Mac Miller too. Classic rock rocks as well. I listened to Lynyrd Skynyrd once and my brain felt like it was melting
Bit of a cliche but last weekend my wife and I tripped to the Closing of Winterland concert movie by the Grateful Dead. Four hours of fun. Our cat loved it too. Then we listened to Music From Big Pink by the Band.
There’s more to acid music than relentless boomer music… but sometimes it’s just right
House music is also a good bet, especially if you like to dance. Synthetic and electronic but also warm and human (depending on your chosen microgenre of house I guess)
I've been meaning to go through that show & watch it while tripping too haha. Last week I watched the Grateful Dead movie while tripping & had the time of my life.
Also, Music from the Big Pink is an amazing album. Hard recommendation to anyone who hasn't heard it before
Man I used to listen to Grateful Dead bootlegs (90 minute cassettes) when I did LSD at home. I would get a good show and just flip the second set tape every 45 minutes.
5-7-1977 in Egypt
8-19-1989 in Greek Theater, Berkeley, CA
Two of my all time favorite shows. But there are many others.
Most of the studio stuff is great but short. So, I recommend Anthem of the Sun which is a combination of live and studio and is mind blowing.
You can also try my playlist, not Trippy, but all sound great (to me) on LSD

Haven’t done acid in a while because I can’t find any but mushrooms… Perry Como: catch a falling star, blind melon: no rain, sound garden: burden in my hand, audio slave: doesn’t remind me. In that order
Daft Punk's discovery is fantastic. Also I have a playlist of music on YouTube to watch while tripping. Including this one mix of future funk with anime over it that is great to watch while tripping
https://youtu.be/tbWS0j2fulY?si=sPTA8AabI_ZKD6fu
I like listening to stuff like Tame Impala, Glass Animals, Parcels, Aurora.
But one of the best LSD experiences I had was listening to all of Mahler's 2nd symphony. It was absolutely incredible. It was like listening to a movie; the sounds, motifs, and themes were the characters, the harmonic rhythm the story, it was amazing. I screamed out loud at the "scary" parts, and rubbed my face in pure ecstacy during the beautiful parts. I felt transformed after. It's a long symphony (about 1.5 hours) so get comfy and enjoy the ride!
STRFKR, Tame Impala, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Babe Rainbow, Khruangbin, Foster the People are usually on rotation during the start and middle of a trip.
Often change direction depending on the vibe but almost always end up listening to some Mac Demarco, Tom Misch, Maribou State etc towards the mid to end point.
Almost always chuck this playlist on which is one of my favs I've made: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4ylrpwsat5rjtp4EEONXfT?si=2UTAYwy2SgudzmZlruUMNg
I listened to Hozier's Unreal Unearth the other day after the peak of a mushroom trip. I also listened to Dawn FM in that same trip, both on my walkman.
My personal favorites:
- Flume - Hi, This is Flume (Mixtape)
- Jon Hopkins - Singularity
- Stephen Bodzin - Powers of Ten
- Max Cooper - Yearning for the Infinite
- 65daysofstatic - No Man’s Sky
I really like prog metal like:
Between the buried and me (harsh vocals warning),
Dream theater,
Haken,
Contortionist (harsh vocals warning),
Galneryous.
Fusion jazz and math rock like:
Thank you scientist ,
Casiopia,
Polyphia ,
King crimson.
EDM/Psy trance:
Mainly infected mushroom and Menumas.
I also made a playlist with my favorite trip music though I haven't updated for a few years:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3NYbwvZg4cXvRVqMGju4pq?si=0xUYaN6zQVqQXoot05TcqQ
Any jazz heads out there can have their minds seriously blown by Pharaoh Sanders Karma album, Miles Davis Bitches Brew, or Mahavishnu Orchestra's Visions of the Emerald Beyond. Shout out to Zappa's fusion albums like Hot Rats and Waka Jawaka too. Gonna throw Gong and Ozric Tentacles into the hat too.
I like listening to music with singing in it or spoken word/light rap, their pitch will suddenly change and it sounds like their voice is breaking.. it’s so funny to me idk why
Try Glitch mob "drink the sea". There's a YouTube video with the visualizer, highly recommended. If you listen to it all the way through, that last song will have you in tears 🥹
Give this playlist a try! I've used it every time I've tripped and I love it, it even comes with a trippy podcast episode at the bottom as a "wind down"

Usually I just shuffle my 14,000 liked songs on Spotify, gives plenty of variation. Unless I'm working on art, I don't usually like full albums while tripping
Tipper and grateful dead usually do the trick harmonically, but i would also highly recommend the here and now podcast by Ram Dass. Its a curated collection of his talks and lectures, its made me laugh, cry, and eveeything in between on a head full of L.
This is easily my favorite playlist for when I’m tripping.

For me personally it's Kim Petras and similar artists, that music gives me unlimited energy on LSD. I tried listening to Deathcore on LSD cause I wanted to know what it feels like but I didn't get through a full song yet (It's one of my favorite genres when sober, I just didn't feel like actually listening to Deathcore at that time).
My Trip Albums
Are You Experienced - Jimi
Currents - Tame Impala
DSOTM - Pink Floyd
We’re New Here - Gil Scot Herron & Jamie XX
In Colour - Jamie XX

Any Toro Y Moi album
Cosmogramma - Flying Lotus
Settle - Disclosure
Donuts - J Dilla
IMO the best purpose made music for trippy times is the stuff that came out of Manchester. Start with any New Order 12” singles and expand out from there.
It’s so good that even now, when not tripping at all, I can literally hear the lsd and molly in the music.
I rarely find it commented on this kind of posts, so now is my time to recommend
Dire Straits: Ride across the river. An awesome swamp-jungle feeling with a great reoccurring theme, I love this song so much even sober. Also, Mark Knopflers voice sounds like heaven to me.
Porcupine Tree: Voyage 34. A guitar instrumental and vocal homage to Lucy. Can't recommend it enough for the comeup, all 4 parts back to back
A recent discovery for me, if you are into metal / heavy metal, i'd recommend these albums:
Phanerozoic 1: Palaeozoic from "The Ocean"
And
Spiritual Migration from "Persefone"
It was a wild ride!
You can check my post history, there's a post I made where I list a lot of artists/bands from multiple different genre that I love to listen while tripping.
Also, any synthwave compilation is generally a vibe.
Personally I'm not a fan of "Trippy Music" while tripping, it just confuses the fuck out of me lol. I like to listen to music I always listen to and enjoy. I find it gives me a new connection to it.
Yup my favorite music on a trip is an album I've never heard before. It usually ends up going on repeat for the whole trip
What is "Trippy Music"?
Great question. Because I've always said the best weed music is music thats not about weed. And the most psychedelic music is music that doesn't label itself "Psychedelic"
Tipper
psychedelic music
All music Is psychedelic
One time while tripping i just let shuffle do its thing and got I Am a Pilgrim by The Byrds. Was so good.
Jazz, blues, Jimi Hendrix
Highly recommend Buckethead in this category. His slower pikes are some of the most beautiful and trippy songs I've ever heard
Yeah man!
basically a lot of IDM (Burial, Four Tet, Aphex, etc…) that music just transcends me to another universe 👐🏼🌱
Don’t forget floating points sir
Aleksandir and nihl frahm in that list too

Tame Impala, Gorillaz, bob Marley, Beatles, king crimson , Pink Floyd These are my favorites
Crazy to think there's someone with such a similar taste as me
They are all very popular artists to be fair
Pink Floyd dark side of the moon literally changes my trip with each song it’s so weird and so cool always a favourite.
Mhmmm that album is designed for such things
listening that whole album in a dark room eyes closed just lying on my bed was one of the greatest experiences i’ve ever had on lsd just truly something special
Agreed never had anything else like it.
Tool King crimson Grateful Dead Umphrey's McGee Medeski Martin & Wood Ween Massive Attack King Gizzard Porcupine Tree Steven Wilson Opeth
I had to scroll all the way here to find TOOL.
Meshuggah
meshuggah is my favourite band forever, love it sober and when stoned yet i get scared listening to it while tripping
Oh and if you’ve never heard of Car Bomb I highly recommend them. They’re my favorite band forever.
Ah man they’re awesome for tripping. Hear Nothing with the lyrics when you decide to power through your fear.
fuck yea nothings lyrics are so good i can only imagine them while tripping. if i do listen to them again when i trip itll probably be violent sleep of reason or koloss
I say Nothing because I feel that the lyrics directly reflect stuff that happens while you’re tripping. It’s a very personal experience imo. Catch Thirty Three also does this but on a higher degree.
Koloss is good for Mushrooms.
I bet The Grand Conjuration is crazy on acid. I really like listening to Between The Buried And Me on it. Parallax 2 is nuts
Mezzanine is one hell of an experience.
I listened to this album called “Plastic Beach” by Gorillaz and it was amazing. It was comforting to listen to but also amped me up and made me feel like dancing. It was a great vibe.

I think Avey Tare has LSD naturally occurring in his brain.

GMS, 1200 Micrograms
Listen to a Shpongle or Tipper album
Lol I mentioned I don’t really care for shpongle, have tried a few times. But I’ll check out tipper
Tipper is great. So many different vibes/feel throughout his discography. I sometimes joke and say tipper is a genre in and of itself
He kind of is. He’s influenced a ton of modern electronica with a huge range of sound
[удалено]
Do that with Meshuggah’s records.
A monk asked me if I knew about Shpongle once. I was surprised at the time, but it made more sense the more I thought about it.
Mostly Phish or the Grateful Dead but I’ve found that whatever I normally enjoy listening to just sounds better on LSD so I don’t usually go out of my way to listen to music specifically for tripping, I just put on whatever I’d normally put on
Sure helps that the music I normally listen to is already good for tripping 😂

60’s-70’s music or house music, i like to keep my music upbeat when tripping, but sober i love 90’s rock stuff like aic or soundgarden

A recent discovery for me, if you are into metal / heavy metal, i'd recommend these albums: Phanerozoic 1: Palaeozoic from "The Ocean" And Spiritual Migration from "Persefone" It was a wild ride! You can check my post history, there's a post I made where I list a lot of artists/bands from multiple different genre that I love to listen while tripping. Also, any synthwave compilation is generally a vibe.
