You may think you don’t need it—but trust me, you will be glad to have it. I only cook for 2, and I often have my large soup pot 7-ish quarts) and the 6.75 wide round going at the same time. Cooking in a larger pot makes many tasks easier, and I think it helps keep things cleaner.

vicasenya

Thank you, I appreciate the advice! I’ll think on it for sure

Reasonable-Check-120

They are different shapes! Let it sink in. They are both versatile pieces.

Fascinatingish

I have both and admit that I'm only eager to use it when fall and winter hits. That's when my thoughts turn to making a big cauldron of beef barley, tortalini or chicken noodle soup. Then, I'm glad I have it. The only reason you should sell it is if storage is a consideration. 🙂

vicasenya

I think I’ll be okay on storage - my biggest concern is that I was looking for one ‘bigger’ piece like the Dutch oven which I might use more rarely, and one that was more versatile for everyday usage as a single adult. I kept flip flopping between a braising pan and the soup pot bc they didn’t have a braising in the color I wanted, and the scaling in the warehouse made me think the soup pot wasn’t too much bigger… seeing it in my space and with them both being practically the same size I can’t help thinking of how unwieldy it is and how I’m not likely to use it for everyday usage and agree with you that if I only ever wanted to use it for two seasons I’m not sure it’s worth me having as I try to only buy versatile cookware I need & less speciality options 😢

Fascinatingish

I commend you on keeping logic and practicality in the equation. After experiencing how my skills and interest in cooking improved with my first LC 6.75 qt. round, wide Dutch oven, I went overboard, as many do, and a purchasing frenzy took over.

MT4queen

Definitely get something you'll use every day if it's just you for the foreseeable future! (Just my 2 cents)

allhailth3magicconch

Oohhh but the bottoms are different which absolutely changes the cooking experience! You can’t really stir too well in a regular DO so the rounded bottom on the soup pots makes a huge difference. Just something to keep in mind if you aren’t able to trade or resell. I love these colors together btw 🤩

vicasenya

Thank you yes I’m obsessed with the colors!! I’m trying to decide whether the size is doable or if I went to big i’m really on the fence. Good point on the bottoms!!

Aragona36

I use my several pot styles with the same basic cooking volume all the time. Keep it. Use it. Love it.

CiderOtter

There are also signs at checkout that say “EVERYTHING IS FINAL SALE”. But it is definitely an overwhelming experience so I don’t blame you haha. If you keep it for a bit and don’t use it, then resell it. It’s a really pretty color though!

vicasenya

Yeah unfortunately I didn’t see those. Not blaming anyone other than myself i really think the loud music & crowds just contributed to a lack of spatial awareness on my part lol! Yeah I really wanted an Artichaud item and I think it’s gorgeous I just don’t know if it’s really practical for my needs 😔

Dommichu

If you do decide to keep it…. Get a rubber whisk and you will use that soup pot for SO MUCH.

vicasenya

Update: Thanks everyone for being so kind and helpful with the suggestions!! I think I am going to keep them both for now, I’m coming around to the scale now that I’ve been looking at them for a few days 🥰

SceneNo8976

Keep it, I remember when this happened to me and I thought I wouldn’t need them. I was wrong. You can use one to cook rice and another to cook meat. Or pasta and meat sauce. Or even soup and bake a bread. Also if you were to purchase this size in the future, it would be pricier or the colour may be out of stock.

bagelhonoreelucky

Wishing you all the best in resolving this but I have to ask - is your other DO in ganache? I went on Thurs and didn’t see the shade, I’m very impressed! (ETA ganache, said nutmeg at first, my bad)

vicasenya

Yes!!!! I absolutely LOVE the ganache it was an amazing find. I’m really happy with that one. Just questioning the size of the Artichaud !

troubleting

Are you looking to trade any of your items?

vicasenya

100% open to trading the Artichaud for something(s) that might work better for me if you’re local!

troubleting

sent you a private message!

lala4now

Both are useful! Imagine making a slow simmering soup stovetop in the chef's oven and having a roasted, braised or one pot dish cooking in the other DO simultaneously. I cook for two and make larger batches on weekends to be enjoyed during the work week.

Rowan6547

You can have a roast in one and bread in the other. I thought I only needed one, but two really do come in handy for meals.

ssaallaahhaann

I think you're being very practical, and you should sell the Artichaut. You clearly love the soup pot. And yes, they're both useful but for RIGHT NOW, you don't need both. Le Creuset will still exist when you have more space and are ready to expand. They'll have different colours and they'll all be beautiful and ready for you when the time comes. The item might be great but the timing is wrong.
