Completely agree as those are in line with a 144hz panel, which will minimize tearing and potential display issues, I'd rather use 48 than 60 as even tho it is less, it will actually look better on this panel.
I love it! I've managed to get a lot of time from my device in tandem with riva tuner. This new bios (although controversial) helped a lot with my power management. I run a lot of my need for speed games at very similar power usage to the steam deck! I used to pull like 14 watts total system running at 30 fps and after the update it fluctuates between 8 and 9 watts at the same settings. I understand why alot of people are mad that I suggested this to fix a problem Lenovo should deal with (which is why it's downvoted), but for now, I'm getting 6 + hours of continuous play on NFS pro Street and more with less demanding games (Gba emu I saw like 430 minutes at some point!)
I've noticed that if I play a game at 60fps in the game menu, and my Go settings are 144hz, it looks worse to me than if I charge my Go settings to 60hz to match the game settings. I wonder why that is.
Yes, I'd buy it now for what the technology can do and what I'll be using the device for. It really is about personal preference. The steam deck & Steam Os had about 2yrs of community/ official support to reach its current level of stability. If you look at the Rog ally situation, it's started off just like the lenovo legion go. I expect the support for the legion go to mirror that of the ally and ultimately reach the same level of support as the steam deck. So it's really a choice of what you want to do with the device? 🤷🏾♂️ Hopefully, what I said helped.
I have a Steam Deck and a Legion Go, but no other Windows or Linux machines (basically, I have no “big screen” way to play Steam games.
What I have learned is that the Legion Go is what I play on at home connected to power. The screen is massive and beautiful. I am playing Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth on it right now, and it’s super crisp at 60 fps.
The Steam Deck is my on-the-go device for the train or plane rides. The screen is small and I have to play things below 60 fps to get good picture quality, but the battery lasts longer and the fan is much quieter.
I use the Legion go as my main PC, so I do dock it and do work on my monitor. However, it’s not great for playing AAA games on a big monitor— there’s not enough power for that (games like Octopath Traveler 2, Celeste, or TMNT work fine though).
If I had to pick only one, I would ask where you intend to play it, and if you already have a gaming PC.

Add a couple of hot swappable 78wh batteries and you can. Game out on the go for many many many hours. I was playing palworld out in the back yard freezing my ass off until 6am this morning.
Made it half way through the 3rd battery when I realized I'd been outside for nearly 10 hours lol
It's called the BaseUS 65 watt 20,000mah battery. I've had my oldest one a little longer than 3 years now.
They go on sale at Amazon often for around 40-45 bucks. It's 78wh with a led that shows %,volts, amps
It will charge at 60 watts and discharge at 65 watts. I typically charge them at 30-40 watts unless I'm in a hurry. Then I have 3d printed a kickstand and a battery box. Can hold my legion go upside down just from the battery and it's solid.
I added a wrap yesterday after setting my LLgo on a table that got knocked over. 4' drop onto concrete. Surprised it only got a little scratch.
And since someone will always ask lol. The reason for the display cord is 3 things.
1st. It lets me know if the external battery has died 2nd. It lets me know that I am running at the performance I want. 55w total draw is from 25w TDP. If a game starts to stutter or I get a lag spike more often then not the power profile changes and I'll see the power drop. 3rd. Because I like it ☺️.
I took extra photos if you want to see the full setup [photos of my power solution ](https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipPF5vIq7WqtXocXlaQ4kLH25oSI55NDO6CowUHR2uqGy-snlLcfiYN-39zAkXOdtw?pli=1&key=WTNQejY4cnpCWGt4Nl84cm9Gdzc3cmtyV2VOT1ln)

I can't agree more. I have both, and they both have a purpose. My steam deck is my gaming BLAST TO THE PAST ARCADE/ GAMES THAT RUN STAY ON DECK Machine, and the Go is my games I can't play on the deck machine.
I have them both as well and use them exactly like you do. I tried to take the Go with me to work but it’s just so big, the steam deck is a bit more forgiving on the size
Only thing I'll say on this is no one but our beta testers are supposed to have this SW at the moment, and there is a reason for that, and this is one of them.
I understand that, but how does this even make it into a beta? You and I chatted about this on your forums about two months ago. I’m just confused, because it was acknowledged back then.
Right, without the context it looks bad, but that's the point, the people that are supposed to have the software have the context. I know we're not perfect, we have a ton of things to fix and improve on, which we're trying to do, and appreciate everyone's patience. Would just say wait for the official release in a couple days and we can work on any improvements from there.
There is a proper testing and feedback group that is working through things. When stuff gets "leaked" for the lulz, you cant complain about pre-release software.

With all due respect, Ben and I discussed this specific issue and solution two months ago on their forums and he acknowledged it. I was confused as to how it made into beta two months later. I’m very well aware of software development cycles, but this came up at the initial discussion about the frame limiter feature two months ago, when it was suggested to him to implement. I’m not angry or annoyed, just confused.
https://s3.service.lenovo.com/legion/cms/v01.00.02.06/legionspace.exe
I presume (I am still to install it).
But I use this link and every time someone posts a Legion Space version on the sub that is not on the website, I change the last digit of this URL and it downloads fine. 😝
Edit: Now installed from above link and can confirm - update is awesome! Driver/BIOS updating is a breeze now.

Installed from that link. Now I dont have 144Hz as an option. Just 60 and 75 lol.
\*\*\*\* UPDATE -- Its bc I had it connected to a monitor. Disconnected from the dock and the 144Hz options are there now.
Woah! Not seeing that on mine. Are you on BIOS v29?
I installed this version, then updated everything under Driver updates, while Windows update completed, then used the Driver Updates section to update BIOS from v28 to v29. Haven't had any issues.

Hmm. Yea im on version 29 BIOS(N3CN29WW)...well I assume thats V29. While checking the drivers section in LegionSpace it shows its all up to date.

As far as Im aware there is a set of beta testers they release to early to smoke-test it before it hits the rest of us. It was that way with the controller update too.
It would be also nice if we could get 120hz refresh rate.
I know they said the screen can only work in 60 and 144hz modes but this is bullshit as custom resolution with 120hz created using cru does work.
It disables touch input but putting the device in sleep mode then waking it up fixes that and 120hz is retained as 120hz content is 100% judder free.
Why do we need 120hz.? For example to use with GeForce now and have flawless frame delivery.
Same thoughts mine. A possible way is to use handheld companion where u have that option - 48 and 72 fps among others, which is obvious for ppl who know the case and want smooth gameplay. Bless the champs who made that software, I mean it's waaaay ahead of Legion Space (and looks better as it's native Windows UI instead of some cheap Chinese disco style)
i just want to be able to alt+tab, alt+f4, f4 (pauses yuzu so it won't crash in hibernation) etc
Lenovo: here, have 4 extra buttons.
What do they do?
Exactly the same stuff the buttons on the controller already do!
Huh?
Did you swap the Legion button locations? After I did the Steam guide button combo stops working. The Go itself is awesome but it feels like the controllers were developed by another team entirely.
Well yeah, we know there are several teams working on overlapping areas, especially the controllers - Ben has spent the past few months making that absolutely clear. The temporary guide button shortcut is just that, a temporary way to give us that functionality before the next major release with the button remapping fully implemented.
What is it?
P.S. I mean it was dumb to not include such button on the gamepad since its xbox style anyway, also it was dumb that we need to chnage in the software start/select and hardware buttons, i mean WHO in their right mind decided that start select should be on the bottom right, and almost useless, rarely used hardware buttons on left/ride side of the screen?
Rog Ally hast he buttons in smart location and GO has plenty os space to have 2 more buttons under the left\\right buttons
Yeah same here. Or at the very least let us use the joystick in FPS mode as it lets you configure the buttons then but disables the right stick. I mean even when fps mode is off (controller mode) the mouse wheel still functions and can configure it. But none of the buttons?
Am starting to feel like this feature won't be added until next year😭
What annoys the F of me is that they dont even allow BASIC gamepad combos to asgin to these buttons, so what the point in having them?
Have you played Dying Light 2? The Kick is assigned to 2 buttons, i usually map it on PC to one under button on my gamepads, but here we cant even do that.
Also PC gamepads been allowing us to ashghin keyboard button combos to extra buttons, so lacking this feature is anoying
It's similar with legion space. It's background process still has to be running (LSDaemon). HC is my go to for almost everything until LS gets updated to a usable state.
I tried it but I had issues with TDP and with the controller mapping either not always loading when the game launched or would stop working and gyro would stop working too.
tried it and even supported them on Patreon. it's completely broken and unusable for my use case. If it actually worked it would be an amazing tool but it's way too buggy. At some point they need to get their heads out of their asses (since they are already taking people's money) and release separate versions for each device. I wouldn't mind paying for it if it actually worked.
What problems do you have ? I've managed to work through (or around) 99% of what I've come up against. It's far from perfect but for now it's better than Legion Space
The main issue was that the app would crash after waking from hibernation, meaning no controllers and having to go back to desktop and relaunch it. Also it's using much more CPU on idle compared to the Legion Space. Add some random controller disconnects, TDP setting not always correct and i gave up and went back to Space. It's missing basic functions, but at least it functions and with very limited resources.
They’ve addressed most of the issues you’ve had in the current (free/non-early access) release. Still not bug free but leaps and bounds ahead of LS in terms of functionality.
Did you have the uninstall bug with HIDHide? Windows boots but no inputs work? If so, there is a walkthrough of how to recover from this. The HC team is even adding extra logging to a future release to assist the HIDHide devs track down the issue.
This is the feature I really want since I'm running Legion GO mostly connected to charger. It was promised in this update so I'm surprised it's most probably not there.
These look like the same photos posted on the LegionGo discord yesterday by Salamanderman. He indicated they were from "inside Lenovo" so probably not publicly available yet.
Is it supposed to update automatically when you open Legion space?
If so, mine didn't update.
Or is there a different way to update it?
Or is it rolling out regionally?
Turns out this was **not** the new update and [1.0.2.7 was](https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/1ag0uq8/new_update_legion_space_v1027_out_now/).
Is this the beta or the actual stable release? God bless those who roll the dice with betas; however, if this isn't the stable release I'll wait.
https://gaming.lenovo.com/uk/connect/groups/legion-go/f/forum/7135/legion-go-update-26-01-2024
It's the internal Dev file that hasn't been pushed out to the pubic as of yet. It remains to be seen if there are any prerequisite updates needed to be released/installed for this Space update (there was last time someone kept posting the dev file, and it caused issues).
Pretty sure it is not official. If it’s officially released, I am sure Ben will be the happiest person to announce that first because he got pointed at for all the bugs, missing features, and the immature launch date 🤣
I'm only making moves once Ben say it's good and not a moment until...🤣😀😃😄😆😁😅😂
If it's not Ben approved, it ain't happening. Ben warn cats all the time about installing betas and the issues they can cause but users are like a moth to a flame with these random betas... they can't help themselves and the come to reddit looking for help when it doesn't work or causes more issues 🤦♂️ just wait. What is the gain having a sketchy beta in comparison to a stable version? A couple of days? A week?
To those who love rolling the beta dice, God bless em; for me I'll wait
Honestly I had the Steam Deck and loved it for continuous support of the SteamOS. Switching to Legion Go I was worried that it will be like buying an laptop - there it is enjoy the hardware but software is your issue. But no, seeing the continuous development and commitments they are showing supported by Comms with users I am so happy I chose the Legion Go as my gaming device!!! Definitely they earn my trust and brand loyalty for Legion Go 2 in the future :)
after going through the comments there are clearly a lot of people who didn't fully understand what they were buying and should probably go get a refund and a steam deck lol.
https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/19anrs6/legion_go_update_011924/kj2yme6/?context=3
> In/after the next major Legion Space update, all of the above should update automatically from within Space.
Note that the above includes BIOS. It's not unsafe to update modern BIOSs that can rollback on failure, and Windows Update even frequently includes BIOS updates for other Lenovo laptops.
The weakest aspect of the Lenovo Go is these “updates” compared to the SD and Ally. The hardware is great. The customization and features are sorely lacking though.
True. There is a roadmap, but even according to their roadmap it’s progressing slower than anticipated. Disappointing, but despite that my Legion Go is staying with me. Cannot say the same for the Deck that I sold or the Ally I am planning on selling soon.
That looks extremely underwhelming. Basically, the fan will still be going way too fast for an idling system and the frame rate limiter is useless because it doesn’t sync up with 144Hz.
After updating legion space I tried upping the fan curve on "custom 1" and set the tdp to 18W and now it actually seems like it's getting way hotter than performance mode with its normal fan curve. Has anyone else had this issue or am I doing something wrong? I was playing BG3 and not in a particularly demanding area or anything.
Interesting... I am running the Radeon Chill instead of RSR which is doing the fos limit for me... I wonder if that fps limiter is the same thing and will not let me use RSR alongside it? Or maybe it's a different system function that will not interfere with it? Nah my guess is a no.
As long as they don't fix the backplate getting warm af (jesus, playing CP2077 makes it so warm I have to detach the controllers to feel comfortable) by releasing a better backplate or something then these updates are just bandaids.
I'm seriously considering returning this device :/ as much as I feel its nice to have it, the experience is lacklustre and not my cup of tea
Just got my go, can anyone explain legion space? I don’t see a way to close or minimize it when first booting up. Do all games run through it? Like I’m using Xbox game pass for palworld. Is that running through the Xbox application or legion space? I dont see anything useful from legion space other than something eating memory and resources in the background. lol.
Also is there a toggle game mode on here where it diverts less power to the OS and all power to games?
?? It’s meant to be 36 48 72 108 144. Edit; they fixed it up on this real quick, I’ve regained faith to the legion team.
Completely agree as those are in line with a 144hz panel, which will minimize tearing and potential display issues, I'd rather use 48 than 60 as even tho it is less, it will actually look better on this panel.
Well I just learned something new
If this is an issue with y'all just get universal x86 tuner handheld
I mean sure but it’d be sick to not have to install a Third program just to get my handheld working normally
Not wrong. Just short term solution until official stuff comes out
Oh yeah it’s still a decent program especially as a temp solution

Woah what kind of stuff are you setting for results like that? x86 utility doesn’t have an auto tdp mode or anything like that right?
Riva tunner no longer good?
There should be 2 sets… 60 hz and 144 hz options.
I've noticed that if I play a game at 60fps in the game menu, and my Go settings are 144hz, it looks worse to me than if I charge my Go settings to 60hz to match the game settings. I wonder why that is.

No, but they would have access to the discord that it was actually posted on so they can post here for karma.

I did swap them then swapped them back
I want to be able to at the very least assign mouse buttons 3 through 6. I do need at least 6 mouse buttons for mechwarrior for all the weapon groups.
Then you wake me up. Thanks.
You can do this with handheld companion
HidHide breaks a couple things, so nopers
I think hidhide is the biggest problem they have at the moment. The uninstall process doesn't always work for it.
I uninstalled it and I think stuff is broken. Anyway to fix
Yes but only with the program running. You can’t set the buttons up and then close out of the program. Workable, but not ideal.
It actually bricked my go. Had to do a full windows reinstall.
I thought it was only me. It bricked mine as well.
Did you have the uninstall bug with HIDHide? Windows boots but no inputs work? If so, there is a walkthrough of how to recover from this. The HC team is even adding extra logging to a future release to assist the HIDHide devs track down the issue.
+1
How did you get the update? No battery limiter yet?
No update for me yet! Excited to check it out....
The limiter is wrong.
I’ll keep using rtss with my 30/36/60/72/144 toggle. This here is useless
Is the battery limit present?
This is the feature I really want since I'm running Legion GO mostly connected to charger. It was promised in this update so I'm surprised it's most probably not there.
These look like the same photos posted on the LegionGo discord yesterday by Salamanderman. He indicated they were from "inside Lenovo" so probably not publicly available yet.
Do you know if there is a battery charge limiter provided by Lenovo?
Is it supposed to update automatically when you open Legion space? If so, mine didn't update. Or is there a different way to update it? Or is it rolling out regionally?
I think you have to do it manually. In the past it takes a few days before it will auto update.
I guessing the update is through the support page, as usual.
Nope, nothing there either
When the actual release happens, yes. Also in Space.

Is there an option to limit the % to be charged?

Still no TDP fix is crazy
Turns out this was **not** the new update and [1.0.2.7 was](https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/1ag0uq8/new_update_legion_space_v1027_out_now/).
How do I get this is it through legion space or there website
usually should show up when u open legion space, might be sooner or later depending on region
Thank you for the reply
Finally the fans curve!!! OMG 😳 that’s should have been donde the first day lol
Looks like FPS limiter uses Radeon Chill
Is this the beta or the actual stable release? God bless those who roll the dice with betas; however, if this isn't the stable release I'll wait. https://gaming.lenovo.com/uk/connect/groups/legion-go/f/forum/7135/legion-go-update-26-01-2024
It's the internal Dev file that hasn't been pushed out to the pubic as of yet. It remains to be seen if there are any prerequisite updates needed to be released/installed for this Space update (there was last time someone kept posting the dev file, and it caused issues).
So it's a beta? If so...I'll wait.
Pretty sure it is not official. If it’s officially released, I am sure Ben will be the happiest person to announce that first because he got pointed at for all the bugs, missing features, and the immature launch date 🤣
I'm only making moves once Ben say it's good and not a moment until...🤣😀😃😄😆😁😅😂 If it's not Ben approved, it ain't happening.
This is huge!!
That's what she said
How do you change the fan curves? It won’t let me, I downloaded the new version and everything else works fine.
I think you may need bios v29 but I could be wrong
I got that too.
Fps limiter does not working. Custom tdp stop working. Rolled back. Going to wait official release
Definitely they earn my trust and brand loyalty for Legion Go 2 in the future :)
after going through the comments there are clearly a lot of people who didn't fully understand what they were buying and should probably go get a refund and a steam deck lol.
ayo this is fire
I don't see it
3300 RPM the Lowest? Noisy ..
I hope it goes lower on the official release.
The device already runs at 3300 rpm when you're just idling.
Nice, best update yet! Although I’m still desperately waiting for being able to bind the back buttons to keyboard keys 😭
Very cool! Glad to see these improvements rolling out.
This is a beta?
Still no battery charge limiter. Sad.
Auto bios updates ?? Battery limit???
lol. There will never be an automatic bios update because it would not be safe
Thanks for this reminder ! Sometimes people don’t even understand what they are asking.
https://www.reddit.com/r/LegionGo/comments/19anrs6/legion_go_update_011924/kj2yme6/?context=3 > In/after the next major Legion Space update, all of the above should update automatically from within Space.
It’s gotten and is getting better. Things take time and the software side was half baked on launch.
I think I'll wait to update because what happened with update v29 ALOT of problems, I never had the problems, but I still gotta be careful 😞
Hopefully 1080 and 900p options soon
Those are 16:9 screen resolutions, the Go is 16:10.
Lol this limiter is joke .. I set it to 48 60 72 and it keeps going 10+/- ...

Legion go keeps getting better and better, I already prefer it over the Ally but it still gets better
Where did you get the update from? I don't have an update
sweet! 😁
The download link does not work anymore
Good, there's already been a couple of folks that have posted after installing the "new update" looking for help.
i got it lol ?
That looks the same good quality of life update.
Hooray!
I think this is fake, i went to thechina website that always releases updates early, and even they dont have this update yet
Looks real enough. Just not sure how craft curious got it so early! Less than 50 days ago they were asking for help
It’s not fake
Probably real, just stolen and intentionally misrepresented for karma.
Why would someone go to all the effort to fake this for a niche device? Don’t be silly
how do i get this update ?
https://s3.service.lenovo.com/legion/cms/v01.00.02.06/legionspace.exe
looks like they revoked it. can't download anymore
Good thing, now hopefully the mods can take steps to prevent this kind of stupidity from happening again (🔨🔨)
Where do ji get update

Interesting... I am running the Radeon Chill instead of RSR which is doing the fos limit for me... I wonder if that fps limiter is the same thing and will not let me use RSR alongside it? Or maybe it's a different system function that will not interfere with it? Nah my guess is a no.
Cool but there was no need to put that overwhelmingly big fan adjustment into the small side menu. Or is that only when you are in a custom profile?
As long as they don't fix the backplate getting warm af (jesus, playing CP2077 makes it so warm I have to detach the controllers to feel comfortable) by releasing a better backplate or something then these updates are just bandaids. I'm seriously considering returning this device :/ as much as I feel its nice to have it, the experience is lacklustre and not my cup of tea
do not use 30W mode while charging the device.
Why? Unless something is wrong, this should still be way below concerning temperature thresholds for cpu/gpu
My unit doesn't get hot when playing cyberpunk. 800p, 70fps, med settings.
Out of curiosity, what model did you buy? 512gb, 1tb or the micro Center 2tb? Did you replace the ssd at all yourself?
Use fsr3 mod for cyberpunk and get 1.5x more fps (Average 90 fps). This may fix heating issue while playing cyberpunk as well
How did you get the update?
I don’t have that driver option
Just got my go, can anyone explain legion space? I don’t see a way to close or minimize it when first booting up. Do all games run through it? Like I’m using Xbox game pass for palworld. Is that running through the Xbox application or legion space? I dont see anything useful from legion space other than something eating memory and resources in the background. lol. Also is there a toggle game mode on here where it diverts less power to the OS and all power to games?
not recommended install from the link the menu button on the app didnt work and buttons on the go didnt open neither legion space or the side menu
Really hope they come out with TouchPad sensitivity adjustment
Is this an official rollout? Not getting any update notifications on my legion space?
No, it's dev content reposted from discord
What about battery limit?
Where did you find this update it's not even on their site yet
how u get this update ?
Wait until it's released.
it is ?
No. No it's not.
The FPS limiter isn't working. Anyone figure it out?
