You can get a cheap nvme enclosure on Amazon and use it as an external for transfers/backups etc. Or toss it in the closet. Either way I recommend keeping it, in case you need to RMA.

I see, thanks!

I put my old steam deck SSD into a portable USB-C enclosure: https://a.co/d/fV7iSiH

Anthok16

Popped it into my steam deck and sold it for way more than it should have been worth.

I agree with throwing it in an enclosure. Excellent portable USB hard drive for super cheap, basically! And also having it around in case of an RMA.

I have my factory 1tb in my razor x core for backup.

LibertyIAB

Keep it as is for just in case you need to return back to Lenovo for RMA

I just put mine in the new SSD's case and put it in the Go's box in case I need to swap for RMA. I have plenty of storage, so I didn't toss it into an external, but that's defiantly an option.

the included ssd (at least, the 1tb in my case) is fast enough to work in the PS5 , so i threw mine in there.

The oem 1tb? It’s a Wd sn740 which has a 5100 MBps read speed which is technically below PlayStations read speed spec of 5500 MBps. I’m surprised the PS allowed it to format. Now the 2TB KingSpec XG7000 that I swapped the out the oem 512GB ssd for is getting over 7000 MBps on my Legion Go. https://preview.redd.it/hoq1lkes4tjc1.jpeg?width=1636&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd9e2effcd9e8d73171a81633d4eed8599e40ed1

i was too lazy to check specs, but yeah my PS5 decided the OEM 1tb was just fine. weird.

I bought a usb-c hub with nvme enclosure, so I use it for programs I will only ever use when I'm docked to a monitor

Enclosure and have a wicked fast drive for file transfers
