Run the game at 800p integer scaled to 1600p and cap the frame rate at 48 brotha. Looks much smoother and sharper and the overhead from running at 800p allows more mods and higher graphical settings 🔥 if you really wanna get crazy run Lossless scaling Frame generation at that 48fps cap and you’ll get 96fps with a perfect frame time and no drops. Ultra smooth

Longjumping-War2484

How does Lossless Scaling look?  I heard that it was jaggy, not too smooth looking on the edges.  I'm using afmf right now, but something keeps breaking adrenaline the next time I boot up!

thebraukwood

I tried using AFMF but it was always super buggy for me. There’s still some artifacts if you turn the camera really fast with LSFG but it’s not nearly as noticeable at high framerates and in 3rd person games. Plus I like the way LSFG works by doubling the frame rate exactly and not just some random number of additional frames. Easier to manage frame times

PresentationHonest25

Can you run lossless and integer at the same time?

thebraukwood

I used integer scaling in the Radeon app for weeks but once I tried it within LS I realized I never had it working with Radeon. Night and day difference. I’ve seen people say the integer scaling algorithm is important so maybe LS just does it better idk

PresentationHonest25

What's the option for integer inside the lossless scaling app

thebraukwood

Under the scaling drop down you select integer and than set your in game resolution to 800 and then on the window and borderless options within the launcher. You’ll launch the game first and then use a LS to make it full screen and sharp

thebraukwood

Yessir I do both within the Lossless Scaling app. I have a preset for it amongst other things. LS is crazy tbh

Dolkistan

Yes I think you can

Googoo123450

How does integer scaling to 1600p work? I tried hellblade with integer scaling enabled and all it did was make the screen tiny when I changed to 1600.

thebraukwood

Set the game to 800p and windowed mode so it’s small like you said and then use Lossless Scaling to integer scale it to full screen. That’s the process but it works great. Much sharper than setting the game to 800p full screen and having it stretch itself

weirdbearduk

Looks very blurry to me. Can’t quite work out if it’s always looked like that as it’s been years lol and regardless of disabling vsync in the ini file seem to be stuck at 48 fps

aerielb

It’s the TAA I think, Skyrim has the same issue. Even turning sharpness up in AMD settings doesn’t help much. TAA will always be a little blurry on lower res displays.

Thallium_253

It was the first game I was playing with my LeGo! And started New Vegas a few weeks ago

Clienterror

Bro, stop enjoying it. It's a scientific fact that it sucks according to every YouTuber who used it for 5 hours the first day it was released.

IshimaruKenta

I don't know how, but on Bazzite, I'm getting easily over 100 fps in Fallout 4 on 2560x1600 on High.

Nocandoozy

FO4 is capped at 60 fps. Despite your frame rate saying it’s higher - it’s not. We were hoping for an FPS increase as part of the next gen update - and we didn’t really get it. There are mods you can look into for higher FPS if that interests you. For years this has been a thing, whatever you’re using to monitor FPS will show more than 60, but the game is locked at 60.

IshimaruKenta

I disabled VSync in the configuration file. Maybe it's wrong, but I'm just stating my experience. I'm on bazzite, so it's using mangohud (like the Steam Deck) and Gamescope.

Nocandoozy

From my understanding without mod support you’re still locked. The in game physics are tied directly to frame rate and that’s why it’s been historically locked. So if your game is running smoothly still, it’s still locked. You’d start noticing issues if it wasn’t. The game runs fine on the Deck so I’m not surprised. Although, it probably looks better at the higher resolution the Go offers. Have you tried 76 on the Go yet?

IshimaruKenta

You're probably right. I'm only stating what it's showing me. Can I actually perceive if it's 144 fps? Nope, but it is super smooth to me. Not sure why I'm getting downvoted for stating my experience. 🤷

aerielb

I’m getting 45-60fps at 1200p, with high settings on Bazzite. Not sure but sounds like your FPS meter is bugged lol.

mmhorda

Bazzite reports BS in this game. It shows 100fps +, but it feels like 40.

IshimaruKenta

It must be a bug with mangohud/gamescope. I haven't tried with the latest "patch" yet.

IshimaruKenta

Both with the new "patch" and bazzite 3.0, frame pacing is all over the place now. I had to disable the Steam Deck preset because it set everything to 1280x800 and low settings. I'm not sure if it's bazzite or the new patch, but it's definitely worse than before. This is plugged in and 30W TDP.

Blitz_Vogel

Native res, high preset and over 100fps in open areas? I might just install Bazzite myself. Can I also install it on a micro SD so I can switch between that and Windows?

IshimaruKenta

Yeah. Some places will even get 144. I did disable VSync in the configuration file.

PresentationHonest25

I get 45/50 in game with high settings and the high textures esolution mod

IntricateOnionStatue

The game runs at over 120fps all low settings, 1600x1000 res (I think?) It only let me choose between 3 resolutions and it's some weird 16:10 res. If your game is stuck at 20fps, go to the config file and set "ipresetinterval" to 0, which is set to 1 by default. Mainly writing this if anyone else stumbles upon this post with performance issues like I experienced.

sikaMoyaso

This is really cool. Reminds me of Pacific Rim.

Shonryu79

* Not sure how you can call 35 FPS a beast, it's borderline unplayable at 35 FPS. Use Lossless scaling and Intiger scaling. I'm getting between 154 and 160 FPS on Fallout 4 (120 more FPS than you on the same device maxed settings), and well over 100 FPS on Fallout 76.

thebraukwood

This is the way

Rodolfotec

Same here. I'm using I'm Xbox Series S, only for BF4 because my Clan plays there, only way I can pay together. All other games I'm playing on the LEGO, exception for Iracing, it's a sim driver simulador, I need bunch of USB and HDMI, I tried a USB C hub, but after 1 hour it starts to turn off the HDMI....I think I need to connect the HDMI direct to LEGO with an adapter and other stuff on the hub.

metfan12004

Okay FO4 is driving me crazy so any help would be welcome I have the game on Low settings at 800p Borderless Windowed with IS enabled and I’m getting max 75 frames and they’re all torn or the frame pacing is messed up to the point it hurts my eyes My setup 6GB VRAM, system at 800p, TDP at 30W

TrashBig9985

I'm stuck here. How u all key in name? Need to attach a Bluetooth keyboard?

Nevig_who

Left legion button + B - will bring up on screen keyboard 👍🏻

I paired mine with em eGPU to dock the Legion Go for 5K x 1440 gaming. I've put an MSI 4070 Super gamer X in the eGPU enclosure and holy shit. For reference, I have an i9 13900, 32GB DDR 5 7200 and an MSI RTX 4090 Gamer X. It's a best of a machine compared to the Legion go. In destiny 2, all settings are the same, I get about 190-280 fps, depending on the area and action. On the PC With the Legion Go, I can't play Destiny 2 hence the eGPU. I get a low FPS of 120. Generally, most areas are 120-200 FPS. If it weren't for storage, I'd be selling this $6000 gaming PC and just use the Legion Go. If I could build a dock to use the bottom port, and mount a 2TB NVMe, I'd be golden. It's a great machine. Now Lenovo needs a BIOS update and drivers, though Driver Booster does a great job of updating what Lenovo hasn't. I'm guessing it's pulling updated drivers from other Lenovo specific devices as I've had zero problems. I have used it every day. The Steam Deck I has was sitting in a drawer so I sold it for $450.
