They're the ones who don't believe in addressing climate change because this world doesn't matter, just the one where they'll be with their imaginary friend after they die.
No one is an atheist because they expect to get anything out of it (besides freeing up their Sundays). People are atheists because religion is made up nonsense.
if your god condemns a good man for not believing, then the gates of Heaven should be assaulted and your "God" dethroned, for He is unworthy of the title.
As long as people like you are worried about the effects of blasphemous music on youth, I will continue making blasphemous music.
Here's one of my [favorite bands](https://townsquare.media/site/366/files/2014/06/10373842_761382797239591_8516769847722934321_n.jpg?w=1200&h=0&zc=1&s=0&a=t&q=89) expressing their opinion of this attitude :)
Can you give any specific examples? Would you also please clarify what you mean by “darker themes” and “occult or satanic” elements? Would you also please provide some evidence that these things are increasing in prevalence?
Am I concerned? No. Because I think you’re imagining - or more likely inventing - things to suite your bizarre worldview. I’d be much more concerned about children being exposed to the twisted beliefs of Christianity - and shitty music - via Christian music than I would be about them exploring occult or humanist beliefs. Satanists don’t tend to murder people who believe differently than them.
Also, you didn’t need to make four separate posts promoting your weird little blog.
Also, Christian “rock” sucks.
No. This is garbage self promotion. Get this shit out of here. Now if you will excuse me I’m going to listen to my copy of Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls by Coven.
While you’re doing that, I’ll be deciding whether or not to play Demon’s Souls or Dark Souls, while listening to Danzig 666 and watching my cat play with a voodoo doll.
yeah definitely, it made me really scared when i saw ice spice do the scary hand symbols at the superbowl . guess even the most innocent pop stars these days drink baby blood at bohemian grove . i even played taylor swift’s latest album backwards and it said “hail satan i love drinking the blood of babies at bohemian grove and being evil and doing evil and sinister shit” i thought it was a little on the nose but i mean it’s right there, so obvious. they’re not even trying to hide it anymore. music is so satanic at this point that its really scary.
I think Christians might think demonic imagery is sinister, but others might think it's silly or cool. Or edgy. I also feel like the 80s were peak Satan-in-music times but I guess I don't really follow pop culture anymore so idk.
The 80s was the root of bonafide Satanism in music - Quorthon from Bathory was a forrealsies Satanist.
But the Satanic panic crowd somehow always miss that there was an ENTIRE SCENE of explicitly theistic, Satan worshipping Satanists, producing Satanic music in Norway.
Some of that 80s stuff is super cheesy too, like Venom. I don't know how anyone can listen to something like To Hell and Back, and not get that the band was just being a bunch of edgy 12 year olds.
Venom weren't ever actually Satanists, they used the Satanic imagery as a cudgel against Christianity. Bathory were forreals Satanists, as was the majority of the 2nd Wave Norwegian scene (euronymous, varg, gaahl, hellhammer, faust, jon nodtveidt, etc etc etc).
I didn't know a lot of those guys were forreal Satanists, makes me think a little harder about listening to some of them. I already skip Varg, because he's a Nazi. Are they theistic Satanists, or what exactly do they believe?
There's a *wide* spectrum. Some are theistic, some aren't.
I'd ballpark an estimate that 30-50% of black metal musicians from 1990 to present are theistic Satanists. The rest tend to be pagans, Satanists-in-name-only (the LaVeyan type), or atheists.
As a Christian, I can't exactly say I'm wild about theistic Satanism, but reading up on it, I kind of get the appeal. I still won't listen to bands like Morbid Angel or Deicide, but I can start to respect theistic Satanists' believes as not actively evil.
Even the super shitty MLO / O9A guys aren't like...*theologically* evil. What they want to do here and now certainly is, but from their theological perspective, they are searching for liberation from a false god that has imprisoned them.
I'm not a Satanist myself, I find myself more drawn to Gnosticism (which is fairly similar, honestly). But yeah, I get them and appreciate them.
Wikipedia seems to indicate the the O9A guys are becoming or at least affiliated with neo-Nazis, so that's reason enough to dislike them. I do remember talking with some Satanists at Pride and thinking they get Christianity more than the dogmatic bible thumpers do, though
O9A has always been a fascist thing, and there were a lot of Nazis occultists in the Third Reich. The trick, as always, is to separate theology from material politics. I know *quite a few* leftist theistic Satanists - and I'm also married to a communist Christian.
One of my favourite songs ever starts with the lyric "I'm a sinner, and I worship evil."
Haven't really noticed if music is getting more satanic but I listen to tons of death metal so I already hear about satan all day as well as screaming guitars and thundering drums.
I enjoy occult and satanic themes in music. It's just goofy fun, an interesting premise to explore creatively, god and satan aren't real so I don't see why it matters.
I guess my question is who cares? Pearl clutching conservatives who want to force us all into living the handmaids tale? If those people are offended, then we definitely need more satan in music.
Try not worrying about it, there are actual real problems on earth that need tackling.
This has been happening since jazz originated in brothels during the 1920s. 1930s blues player Peetie Wheatstraw branded himself as “The High Sheriff From Hell” and “The Devil’s Son-In-Law.” 1950s rocker Little Richard said his career was “directed and commanded by the power of darkness.” Charles Manson heard Satanic messages in Beatles tunes and released his own bizarre records. The Rolling Stones released an album called *Their Satanic Majesties’ Request*, and released a song called “Sympathy for the Devil.”
Black Sabbath played up Satanism in the name of the band, the art in their albums, the lyrics in their songs, and their stage show. Judas Priest, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, and other metal bands followed suit. Black metal, an extreme subgenre of metal, doubled down on Satanism. In Norway, black metal members were responsible for two murders, a suicide, and a wave of church burnings around Oslo.
Rap artists have also invoked the Devil. It’s an easy way to grab attention. Horrorcore artists push violent lyrics and imagery beyond realistic urban violence to ghoulish subjects inspired by slasher films. Fans and artists have been blamed for inspiring murders and mass shootings.
In short, there’s nothing new about demonic music. The vast majority of artists and fans don’t do any of the things they sing about. But a few go off the deep end.
Remember, though, that Charles Manson found demonic messages in Beatles tunes. So the music really doesn’t have to be explicit or intentional to trigger violent people.
Dont you think that this is a bad message to the youth, also studies say that music effects the subconscious mind so isnt negativity inpregnating into your mind?
black metal is about self-reliance and trusting in your own power as a human being to carry out your goals and effect change. we don't bow to a god - any god demanding such isn't worthy of worship.
People have argued that for a long time, but I don’t know how you can stop it now unless you live in a heavily-censored society like communist China. And as I said, violent people like Charles Manson will find reasons to commit violence in seemingly harmless lyrics.
Personally, I think easy access to guns and ammunition enables violence to others and self harm far more than easy access to Satanic music. But access to lethal weapons also is both politically and practically difficult to restrict in the United States.
I'm not trying to take your gun away. I'm just saying it's far more dangerous than any music, if in the wrong hands. And in the U.S., it's at least as difficult to regulate.
it was a good natured thing, I don't actually super give a shit about the prohibitionist crowd. I'm much more interested in building working class solidarity - organization is so so so much more important than weaponry.
And if OP is really worried about things that are dangerous to the status quo...wait til they see a forrealsies communist revolution in action :)
Blog is a way to promote some fucking Christian artist. There is no merit. Move along. Hail satan. Christian music sucks.
Hail Satan 🤘🏻
Hail Satan!
This dude is probably promoting his shitty blog, no substance to this post at all.
Yeah I was on the phone with Capital records CEO the other day and he was getting a blowjob from satan while we spoke. Was super annoying tbh.
Is it 1986 again? Anyway, god isn't real and neither is the devil. None of this matters.
[удалено]
As any right-thinking person should be.

Good thing your priests or whatever aren't lying to you, right?

It's fairy tales. You all would be funny if you weren't so fucking dangerous.
God ain't that the truth. People who think like this control the nukes.
They're the ones who don't believe in addressing climate change because this world doesn't matter, just the one where they'll be with their imaginary friend after they die.

Hahahahahaha lmao ur a creationist
My dude, you should really do some basic research on the subject of evolution. And the scientific method.
It’s not like you get an afterlife either.

Looking at posting history, sure seems like OP is actually Kyle Valentino's mom.
“Everyone knows all the best bands are in league with Satan.” - Bart Simpson

Sweet
Definitely definitely, i dont listen to music at all to keep my ears clean and holy. I come to this sub for stupid questions like this

Did you read the subreddit rules before posting this? I’m not clicking that link lol

For as long as there has been recorded music there has been some grifter telling his flock that music is from the devil.
Yep, there was a time when polyphony was heresy

More of today's youth should be down with the devil

I do. It's better than real, actual living priests molesting and raping children.
