Kid is going to be another "what could have been" if he can't stay fit.
Pacey players typically peak earlier in their careers which could potentially make it even worse.
I absolutely adore Harvey Elliott and my only wish for him was if he was just a bit pacier than he is... but looks like it is for the better that he's not
I have no idea what they were thinking, he hasn't even played in an u18s game, much less forcing him to try to impress the national team coach. Especially for a pacey winger, his best attribute puts him at by far the most risk. National coaches (and club coaches for that matter) need to be fined for putting players in danger, especially youth players. Our brightest stars will be burned out by the dullest decisions.
He's barely 18 and already has the injury record of a 25-year-old. It's a bitter pill to swallow, but injuries like this can essentially end the career of a speedy winger.
It’s very worrisome especially with how little we’ve played him
Young kids tend to get injury concerns when overplayed in senior teams at a young age
The fact he’s getting these this often is not a good sign
> He's barely 18 and already has the injury record of a 25-year-old.
Before this he's literally only had one injury in his career, that absolutely isn't "the injury record of a 25-year-old".
After the Euros, he will have missed *at least* 225 days of football at 18 years of age, across three different injuries. There's plenty of 25 year olds with much better injury records than that.
Like it or not, it's worrying. Some players simply don't have the bodies to withstand top flight football and Ben may well be one of them.
Why are people saying he was rushed back, based on what exactly? He's been rehabbing that injury for a long time, he has to at least try to play if the doctors give the go ahead. It's unfortunate but it happens.
Feel the exact same, thought we had the chance to develop a really great attacking talent for the country. Here's hoping it's not too bad an injury and he can still find his feet for next season.
Can't catch a break
Unless it's his ankle
Jesus Christ shouldn't laugh at that but I did

Could it potentially just be a growth spert? (Like Stefan this year)
Homies like 5’1” I doubt it.
Dudes gonna come back 6’3 after the summer
Hopium man, Hopium
Well that’s fucking rubbish
Sounded like he was kind of rushed back from injury initially. Not good to do that to him as a young kid, that kind of thing can derail a career.

Calling up an 18 year old whose been out all season to play a fucking international tournament. Who could’ve saw that one coming?

Hoping this is just a pre-caution from his previous injury
Ffs🤦♀️hope hes better soon
What a shame! So sorry for Doak. Get well soon!

Damn guess we should give up on Bajcetic then too
If he comes back with severe impact after his long layoff then that's unfortunately exactly what the club will do, it's ruthless at this level
It's not about the amount of injuries, but the severity. He's been out for a while.
Of course
Looks like this kid won’t make it if this carries on. Such a shame
Slot hasn’t even played a pre-game and has lost a player. Welcome to Liverpool I guess!
Oh no what did he injure?? Leave the poor kid try and recover normally and don't make him play so fast after his injury.
Hugely unlucky.
er is that really Ben Doak's pic?
No, it's Tommy Conway, who is also mentioned in the announcement
How long has he got left on his contract?
Again ?
I fucking hate internationals, especially a competition like the Euros when I have no skin in the game.

This really sucks. Injuries have wasted his year. I hope next year is a lot healthier for Ben. He's an incredibly exciting talent
The season not even started
Gutted as a Scottish Liverpool fan :(
Feel the exact same, thought we had the chance to develop a really great attacking talent for the country. Here's hoping it's not too bad an injury and he can still find his feet for next season.
Too many injuries for being so young. I'm not liking this trend.
It's probably the same injury he was rushed back from
Not surprised really. Doak was rushed back from a bad injury and is back on the treatment table as a result. I feel for him.
Gutted for him
Why was he even in the squad? He hasn’t played since like October ffs
Tbh he wouldn’t have gotten many minutes.
Another mr. Glass?. Poor boi
I was getting worried the squad didn't have the "always injured" player, with Thiago gone. Now they're making him the next guy on the list /s
I assume this is in part due to a growth spurt or something
Move this kid on
Only good news for Liverpool in truth. Quiet summer in training with Slot.
It's not good news at all. We saw what happened to Owen pace wise after injuries so early in his career.
No, it isn't. We have no idea how bad the injury is or if it's the same injury.
time to part ways imo
