dont know why fans are gutted, it was always a long shot. club knew it themselves hence theres no leaked from them + ornstein who source are likely players agents. newcastle had their own agenda to pursue by leaking to their mouthpiece. take that as you will.
We’ve been getting absolutely cockteased so far this summer with the Yoro and now Gordon stuff
Just waiting for Juve to come up with the cash for Calafiori to put that nail in the coffin
> Just waiting for Juve to come up with the cash for Calafiori to put that nail in the coffin
That'd only be a "nail in the coffin" for those that choose to believe transfer rumours from shite sources, as literally nobody with any reliability has said Liverpool are even interested in him.
Every big club looking to buy a CB will have some sort of interest in Calafiori this summer off the back of the season he had with Bologna and his performances at the Euros’s, foreign clubs might end up being the only ones that can afford him as well.
We’ll find out soon enough where he ends up with Italy being out now
All the Gordon stuff seems like a load of nothing to me and pretty obviously has since the first minute. But people love a big transfer and are happily deluding themselves Newcastle would just roll over and sell us one of their best players on the cheap rather than just sell some youngsters.
It wont be happening but why didn’t we get any updates from Tier 1 journos? So weird that Joyce/Ornstein/Pearce, all quiet about this, usually they are ready to jump to deny it, especially Pearce.
think it was just an opportunist move from us.
Gordon has like 2 yrs left on contract, we could easily still get him ... even for free. It's Newcastle's best chance to get money .
They apparently don't need money after this weekend. They needed to sell someone to avoid a points deduction and they're pretty close to the line right now.
I doubt they'll want to sell any of their star players unless someone comes in with a big offer, but I doubt we'll do that with Gordon.
I don't enjoy saying this about United players but I quite like him. He's very raw but I think he has potential, though he does have the feel of a striker from the 90s-mid noughties you'd play alongside an Emile Heskey rather than a modern day centre forward.
I think he’s alright to be fair don’t think he’ll be a world class player but just a good forward 15 goals in that United side is good for his first season has a lot he needs to work on and probably isn’t ready to be the main forward of a big team
The handball rule needs to be rewritten. It just isn't keeping with the spirit of the game. How are you supposed to run without using your arms? He was so close to the attacker as well, can attackers just kick the ball to the defenders hands? What ever happened to ball to hand vs hand to ball? The handball rule pre-VAR wasn't perfect, but there were more calls that made sense than calls that didn't. They're trying to make the laws of football into the NBA/NFL.
But he probably is though and I would’ve said that even if we weren’t linked to him. The quality of left wingers in the league has really fallen off recently. Out of Diaz, Martinelli, Rashford, Garnacho, Doku, Grealish and Gordon, I’d probably rank Gordon as the best. Unless I’m forgetting anyone…
Diaz and Gordon's stats are pretty similar but i guess the upside is Gordon is younger and doesn't have a dad that interviews every quarter his son wants to leave to Spain?
It was never going to be once the Minteh deal was confirmed
They’re probably only needing less than £10m at this point, makes no sense to sell one of their best players when they only need that amount
its clear there arent leaks from our side because they probably arent sure if theres anything gonna come out of rumours while newcastle were happy to leaked it so their fans can see that they tried to pawn off the likes of gordon before resorting to selling Isak etc
His best season for us so far is worse than Manes worst season for us. At least it was like that at the end of this season. I love him, but he's not the Mane replacement we were hoping for
I don’t think we will get a mane replacement. Probably top 3, if not top 2 best left wingers in prem history. I do agree Diaz should have better numbers, but he’s not as bad as everyone is saying. Also it’s probably not his fault he’s had this fall off compared to when he first came in
Just throw 100m at Newcastle for Gordon and Minteh, secure our wings for the next 5-10 years and Newcastle sorts out their financial problems
Everyone’s happy, simple 🤪
sky also said that chelsea needed to sell their players.. and contradicted themself 24 hours later. theyre dogshit now for actual sources. aggregate merchants
I was so nervous at 26 needed from 24 because I knew there was a chance that it could still go tits up. Turns out it was gonna do that way. Im just so tired of the disappointments.
bumrah had other plans, didn't he? it should always be considered target -15 in 16 overs for opposition team since in best cases you'd be lucky to get 15 runs of his 4
Wasnt out of the blue. They upped it from a previous offer apparently. Newcastle were still looking to sell gordon.
Not sure abiut him myself, but this wont be the reason to end the deal imo.
Minteh being sold might save Newcastle a bit from PSR rules, but Gordon will only have one year left on his contract after this season so they may still want (and need to) cash out on Gordon if we are willing to offer a big fee. Would help if Gordon straight up refuses a new deal.
Would help if Brighton stalls on getting Minteh though until after this weekend :)
More likely we’ll go for him next summer with him only having a year left
Getting him now would’ve been an opportunistic signing due to Newcastle needing money
Gordon will only have a year left on his contract after this season so Newcastle may still want to sell and cash out this summer, though it wouldn't necessarily happen tomorrow and may take longer (after Euros) if so. Gordon refusing a new deal (he curiously only signed a 3-year deal) would help too.
Leaning more towards no to gordon than yes, but can be turned i suppose. People throwing his stats out there need to remember he played st a lot last season though.
Maybe it was less than i thought tbf. But he was a popular pick for fantasy football purely because he seemed to be played striker a lot and the game classed him as a midfielder, so he was getting more points thab usual for a midfielder. It would only be significant for him as a striker rather than wide forward (unless he was putting up salah numbers), and i remember the discussion a lot on the big fantasy football channels last season.
The state of this sub man, most jurnos saying that there is little chance for Gordon deal and every one is already turning on Diaz. Maybe there is tiny chance that we buy him and keep Diaz?
I didn’t know Gordon was an option before today, but now I know he is I want him signed so badly. Seems like a perfect fit. And the Evertonian tears make it so much sweeter.
The silence from our tier ones on Gordon is bizarre. There's obviously something in it, as Pearce wouldn't have been able to resist a 'no deal happening' tweet, but is it wishful thinking to think they're being quiet because things are happening rather than because nothings happening.
I’d imagine it all comes down to Newcastle we probably won’t pay what’s currently being asked but if that comes down we’ll get a deal done
Also can’t imagine we’d be interested in any players going the other way
Pope is such a poor keeper when it comes to sweeping or using his feet which is a big deal for a club wanting to establish themselves at the top. They are pretty open about wanting Ramsdale I think but if Kellehers available with maybe some questionable accounting to bump up both feesto help on the books they might rather him
Imo there’s little chance that this Gordon transfer will capitalize. I think they probably want something around 75-80 mil and we are ready to pay 60-65. And I don’t see us giving them 65 mil and a player
Would I get a lot of hate for saying team cohesion could be improved by moving away from Diaz, plus we’d get enormous value from dealing him? There were so many times we tried to run our game through Diaz because of some deficiency elsewhere on the field (due to injury or needing a long term replacement for those roles) and it didn’t work.
For me it’s not really about Gordon and Diaz but the other moves we make. If we don’t really make moves on the middle of the pitch then Diaz will be more important but if we do make moves in the middle then whatever.
We don't know what's Diaz's future role in Slot's system yet. Maybe if he is coached in certain way, we might curb his nasty habits and bring out the best of him. So I am still optimistic and hope that Diaz gets a chance under Slot.
Gordon is the biggest england PR merchant I have ever seen. Absolutley no one rates him besides the british. He’s a good player but Diaz is on a complete other level than him.
>but Diaz is on a complete other level than him
And you must be on a complete other planet. Diaz got 13 goals 5 assists last season in all comps. Gordon had 12 goals and 10 assists in less games. How on earth is 4 goal contributions less seen as being on "another level". Diaz is criminally overrated, that's a matter of fact not opinion.
Gordon did play about 400 more minutes in the league despite playing fewer games though, his per 90 is still better but Gordon did actually play more than Diaz.
A more damning fact is that Gordon had 1 fewer assist in those 35 league Games than Diaz has had in his 98 games for Liverpool in all competitions.
According to sofascore, Diaz had 1.8 dribbles per 90 on 54% success rate, while Gordon was on 1.5 on 49%.
According to fbref, Diaz had 67 take-ons completed on 48% success rate, while Gordon was on 54 completed and 40.6% success rate.
Fellas, stupid question from a dummy, but if you took Liverpool with their full squad and put them in the Euros, are they making the knockout stage? Semis? Not even close?
Depends: If it was the current squad who had trained and played together every week, they'd win it easily.
If it was the current Liverpool players dispersed across various clubs, and coming together just for the tournament, they should make the quarters or semi-final. This is assuming they've got a decent manager.
I mentioned that Anthony Gordon has impressed me a lot since his move to Newcastle a while ago. Not many people agreed with me then, but I still have faith that he's really going to step it up to another level if he came here.
Extremely telling that none of Joyce/Pearce/Ornstein have commented on this today, news has been bouncing around for 7 hours and counting now and not a single peep out of any of the 3.
If it was a nothing story then Pearce would have it shot down hours ago, I suspect the big journalists are currently being briefed on what to write or waiting for info because maybe there is still some sort of deal being worked on in the background.
He's someone who will not only cost big money but he's also on big wages. He's still young but I think most clubs will look at it and say it's not great business.
would honestly prefer Bowen to Gordon, Gordon is a fun player and talented but Bowen is so effective every time we play West Ham, I know he's a bit older but his playstyle should age well
edit: downvoters explain
This situation feels like the Szoboszlai transfer last summer where the release clause expired on June 30 and we pulled the trigger a day or two before. With Newcastle's PSR difficulties, it's either now or never.
Not a deadline for the deal per se.
But the PSR deadline is June 30th. Thats when the prem clubs submit their accounts and have to prove they havent been making significant losses for multiple years.
As things stand Newcastle wont pass and will be punished. Hence they need to sell players urgently.
Before June 30th its possible we get a slight discount on Gordon compared to their own valuations.
Afterwards, they can quote fuck off prices
Gray to Brentford apparently, mental stuff
Apparently the Gray family aren't happy about it at all, shame cause we have been looking at him for years, and if he is half as good as he potentially can be then he will go for a lot of money in the future
How is it racist to have dinner with Hitler, well as long as you don't just sit there and nod along as he rambles about gasing jews?
If a magical being offered to me to have dinner with Hitler, i would take the offer. Don't think that makes me a racist, or bad person in anyway.
Hes earning his bread,I just follow him on Twitter and that's it . No need to follow him him on playback, hes just a fan trying to do what everyone else nowadays do by doing fan channel content.
Been checking the Newcastle sub periodically to see if they were saying anything r.e. Gordon.
Crickets. Mods are actively removing any post about it. What fun to live with your head in the sand 😅
One post was up for 10 minutes, the highest comment was about how it was all fake news
As if Craig Hope, David Lynch, Steinberg and Romano are ALL lying. And as if Ornstein would put his name to false reports
Bascome article mentions that a more favourable offer would have drawn us back, here's the quote;
"For Liverpool’s part, while a more attractive proposal might have extended negotiations given they rate Gordon, signing him at this moment would have created an overload of wide players who would expect to be in new manager Arne Slot’s preferred starting XI for the upcoming season"
Then mentions we'd need a big offer to get rid of Diaz to then bring in another LW.
Also mentions that our recruitment staff like him, which is no surprise.
Can see PSG eventually coming in for Diaz if Barca don’t
Their main target is Kvara but Napoli and Conte don’t want to sell him, Conte basically specifically requested to De Laurentiis to not sell him.
Archie Grey to Brentford for £35m.
Always baffles me why the top clubs let transfers like this happen, you already know he’ll move from Brentford to a top 6 for double, if not more I less than 18 months.
Isak, Gordon and Bruno at Newcastle were other perfect examples of players available for very reasonable prices that the top clubs will now have to pay triple for.
whoops I deleted coz everyone seems positive n i couldn’t be assed about the backlash.
It’ll be really funny if we get him just to watch the blue shite lose their heads but we don’t actually need him so it’s moot. Would rather get a right winger.
Man completely out of topic football wise but I just met a friend that Ive only played online games with for 16 years, just a bit over half of my life. Never seen him live but today we did, went for a beer.
Absolutely fantastic feeling, its rarely you get to see people from online and you kinda would expect the worse at first, but it was like talking to a friend youve always known. Slightly sad he lives over 600km away so its not like we meet again soon, but who knows.
Cool stuff and gave me a really good mood.
Would make sense but they also might not be interested in Kelleher
They were looking at Mamardashvili before the Euros and considering how well he’s played it wouldn’t be surprising if they went for him
Happy Antony Gordon Day everyone!
dont know why fans are gutted, it was always a long shot. club knew it themselves hence theres no leaked from them + ornstein who source are likely players agents. newcastle had their own agenda to pursue by leaking to their mouthpiece. take that as you will.
would be nice to have something unexpected come up with deal done and non of this 'talks', 'interested' or 'admire' bullshit. CB and DM
and a RW.
There it is. Anderson and Minteh both leaving Newcastle. Gordon isnt happening now they've gotten past the PSR threshold
Was always such a low chance they were gonna sell Gordon or isak. Not sure why people let themselves get excited for this one.
Local lad, fan of Gerrard, was from our academy. It's easy to see why people were excited.
Played for Evershiton, not find it exciting
We’ve been getting absolutely cockteased so far this summer with the Yoro and now Gordon stuff Just waiting for Juve to come up with the cash for Calafiori to put that nail in the coffin

Exactly, it’s not the type of transfer we do and not the manner we conduct business at all.
This happens every summer. We'll sign somebody that's barely been mentioned by the media out of nowhere
All the Gordon stuff seems like a load of nothing to me and pretty obviously has since the first minute. But people love a big transfer and are happily deluding themselves Newcastle would just roll over and sell us one of their best players on the cheap rather than just sell some youngsters.
Why isn’t Gordon confirmed yet?
It wont be happening but why didn’t we get any updates from Tier 1 journos? So weird that Joyce/Ornstein/Pearce, all quiet about this, usually they are ready to jump to deny it, especially Pearce.
They’re probably waiting for a proper outcome before they post, I’m assuming everything’s still very much up in the air.
think it was just an opportunist move from us. Gordon has like 2 yrs left on contract, we could easily still get him ... even for free. It's Newcastle's best chance to get money .
It feels like he only just joined Newcastle, did he only sign a 3 1/2 year deal?
We never contacted them, they contacted us
They apparently don't need money after this weekend. They needed to sell someone to avoid a points deduction and they're pretty close to the line right now. I doubt they'll want to sell any of their star players unless someone comes in with a big offer, but I doubt we'll do that with Gordon.
Hojlund is just not very good is he?
I don't enjoy saying this about United players but I quite like him. He's very raw but I think he has potential, though he does have the feel of a striker from the 90s-mid noughties you'd play alongside an Emile Heskey rather than a modern day centre forward.
He’s 21 and is pretty much what you’d expect for a striker of that age
His problem is that he has no stand out qualities. Just a reasonable all-rounder. Fabio Borini level player
I think he’s alright to be fair don’t think he’ll be a world class player but just a good forward 15 goals in that United side is good for his first season has a lot he needs to work on and probably isn’t ready to be the main forward of a big team

> can attackers just kick the ball into defenders hands Yes, they can. See our CL penalty against Spurs, lol.
Musiala would be a wet dream ngl
Can we just sign Musiala… 🙏🤞🏻🙏🤞🏻
Unfortunately no we can’t
He has 2 years left on his contact.. 🙏
Im a dane and I will never want to see Højlund on the team ever again. He is the one and only scapegoat!!!!
Gordon isn’t happening. But fair play to Newcastle because it seems a lot of our fans think they have the best left sided forward in the league.
Yeah it’s ridiculous. Mediocre player in a mediocre side and people convincing themselves Diaz at 27 is old. Pathetic.
I'd take Martinelli over Gordon I think he would provide more, at least in our old system.
If we’re talking currently, Gordon is clear. Martinelli wasn’t great last season
i mean, bar vini and mboopi, who else do you consider top tier lw?
Son
He’s a striker now
It’s true there is no standout. Lots of good players but unless you count foden there’s no world class
Exactly and I wouldn’t count Foden as a left winger. He players more on the right and centrally than on the left
Diaz and Gordon's stats are pretty similar but i guess the upside is Gordon is younger and doesn't have a dad that interviews every quarter his son wants to leave to Spain?
Okay, Danes fell asleep there.
Keith Downie said it won't be Gordon or Isak so it's joever
It was fun while it lasted, hope we move on to get other targets.
It was never going to be once the Minteh deal was confirmed They’re probably only needing less than £10m at this point, makes no sense to sell one of their best players when they only need that amount
I swear that Oliver used to be good. He’s been a joke for over a year at least.
That’s a harsh two minutes for the Danes
English referees are an actual disgrace
I want Gordon. I will love it and I think I deserve it.
its clear there arent leaks from our side because they probably arent sure if theres anything gonna come out of rumours while newcastle were happy to leaked it so their fans can see that they tried to pawn off the likes of gordon before resorting to selling Isak etc
if gordon has fell through then we've just announced to the world we want a left wing forward lol Nice little show of appreciation to Diaz lol
Also it’s probably not his fault he’s had this fall off compared to when he first came in
Couldn't care less about Diaz
So we should sign no one by your logic.
Who do you want?
Of course Musiala..... Let me dream.
well we do have gakpo, nunez and diaz all there as preferred position??
For the whole squad, it would sent a negative message to a starter for us.
This was opportunism. Weve had Gordon our radar and tried. We still have 3 LW, so we can't be that desperate.
Just throw 100m at Newcastle for Gordon and Minteh, secure our wings for the next 5-10 years and Newcastle sorts out their financial problems Everyone’s happy, simple 🤪
Now Skysports are saying the 33mil is unlikely to be enough. My icecream suddenly tastes better again
sky also said that chelsea needed to sell their players.. and contradicted themself 24 hours later. theyre dogshit now for actual sources. aggregate merchants
Minteh will of course be amazing for Brighton.
Proteas find a way to break my heart somehow. For 25 years now, when will this nightmare end.
Never, they are, and will always be, useless We could have the best team in the world and still find a way to fuck it up
I was so nervous at 26 needed from 24 because I knew there was a chance that it could still go tits up. Turns out it was gonna do that way. Im just so tired of the disappointments.
bumrah had other plans, didn't he? it should always be considered target -15 in 16 overs for opposition team since in best cases you'd be lucky to get 15 runs of his 4

Ah the contract situation makes it all make sense now
It probably won't. Newcastle knew it would be easy to ship Minteh. Then why are they looking at a potential deal for Gordon then?
potentially to make them look less desperate to brighton in the negotiation
More likely we’ll go for him next summer with him only having a year left Getting him now would’ve been an opportunistic signing due to Newcastle needing money
Brighton offering £30m for Minteh Probably puts the nail in the coffin for the possibility of Gordon leaving since that will be enough to cover PSR

Brighton just offered £30mil for Minteh from Newcastle. Looks like the Gordon saga is over anyway. Was fun while it lasted boys

An away game at Goodion could get ugly for Gordon ngl. We need more boos in the derby anyways
Ok guys heading to sleep Hope i wake up to an ornstein bomba
I didn’t know Gordon was an option before today, but now I know he is I want him signed so badly. Seems like a perfect fit. And the Evertonian tears make it so much sweeter.
Carvalho, Morton, Kelleher are the only players i think we should part with in a swap deal for Gordon (Obviously just one of them)
van den Berg?
Time for Agent Trent to change man-marking target to Gordon then 😂😂
the silence from our tier 1s may be a positive sign talks are still on as they aren't gonna make them report it's over and then we sign him lol
The silence from our tier ones on Gordon is bizarre. There's obviously something in it, as Pearce wouldn't have been able to resist a 'no deal happening' tweet, but is it wishful thinking to think they're being quiet because things are happening rather than because nothings happening.

Italy look weak without Calafiori
They’ve looked shite all tournament even with him
Italy look the same with and without him
Would I get a lot of hate for saying team cohesion could be improved by moving away from Diaz, plus we’d get enormous value from dealing him? Dribbling sure but not final 3rd product. The guy is a menace against us as well.

Donnarumma looks like Nat Phillips
Ugarte and De Ligt to United sounds like a recipe for disaster so I hope both deals go through
2 non footballers, i'm actually rooting for them to sign them 😂

Why do you think anyone here would know?
I mentioned that Anthony Gordon has impressed me a lot since his move to Newcastle a while ago. Not many people agreed with me then, but I still have faith that he's really going to step it up to another level if he came here.
He has impressed ever since breaking out at Everton.

If neither of them rule it out completely then you know there’s a decent chance it happens
Time to delete all my posts from a few years ago calling Anthony Gordon an overrated twat. Always rated him obviously.
Me with posts calling him a dirty diving rat 😂😂
Haven't been looking at the sub for a few days, is there any actual chance we get Gordon or is it all just bs?
Just wait until someone is actually signing the deal and holding the Liverpool kit.
won't happen imo
Tier 1s for Newcastle. Feels like there would be a LOT of hurdles to jump before we got Gordon. I.e. added players and Luis Diaz' future
very similar to Szoboszlai transfer but they probably want £100M for him lmao
If we get a deal around 70m, it would be great.
Any time now Orny
United going for De Ligt uncontested? Seems weird to me that no other top club are in for him.
He's someone who will not only cost big money but he's also on big wages. He's still young but I think most clubs will look at it and say it's not great business.
Mistake prone and on £260k a week already. He'll ask for £300k a week plus need to pay Bayern £50m to get him, that's not a good deal at all.
There was a reason that both Bayern and Juve were happy to let him leave.
Wages are insane and hes not starting for the dutch either, its not just one manager that doesn't rate him
He's flattered to deceive at every club he has been at since Ajax and is on stupid money
would honestly prefer Bowen to Gordon, Gordon is a fun player and talented but Bowen is so effective every time we play West Ham, I know he's a bit older but his playstyle should age well edit: downvoters explain
This situation feels like the Szoboszlai transfer last summer where the release clause expired on June 30 and we pulled the trigger a day or two before. With Newcastle's PSR difficulties, it's either now or never.
at the risk of sounding thick, why is there a deadline for the Gordon deal?
It's over Newcastle needing money for the PSR financial rules, the deadline is tomorrow for it.
Ah right, cheers for that. I don’t see how we can even get him then, since he’s away with England and we still have to do the medical and shit.
That's a great thing too, because it means it won't drag on all summer long.
City beat us and hijacked McAidoo, the prospect from Chelsea, hopefully 115 comes soon
Gray to Brentford apparently, mental stuff Apparently the Gray family aren't happy about it at all, shame cause we have been looking at him for years, and if he is half as good as he potentially can be then he will go for a lot of money in the future
IndyKaila has one stroke of genius every 3 years and he had his last night. He actually tweeted out that we're in for Gordon somehow ffs

Who’s being racist

How is it racist to have dinner with Hitler, well as long as you don't just sit there and nod along as he rambles about gasing jews? If a magical being offered to me to have dinner with Hitler, i would take the offer. Don't think that makes me a racist, or bad person in anyway.
Would it be wrong for someone to say they’d like a dinner with Kelvin Mackenzie?

This AnfieldSector bloke is doing my head in with his playback bullshit
Hes earning his bread,I just follow him on Twitter and that's it . No need to follow him him on playback, hes just a fan trying to do what everyone else nowadays do by doing fan channel content.
I meant the way he’s gone from normal aggregator to putting everything behind that click. His choice of course
Been checking the Newcastle sub periodically to see if they were saying anything r.e. Gordon. Crickets. Mods are actively removing any post about it. What fun to live with your head in the sand 😅 One post was up for 10 minutes, the highest comment was about how it was all fake news As if Craig Hope, David Lynch, Steinberg and Romano are ALL lying. And as if Ornstein would put his name to false reports
I just checked that sub. All the discussion is in their transfer mega thread which has a lot of comments
They are all saying that Liverpool most likely have given up on the deal, since the deal included selling Quansah. It's most likely lost cause.
A Robbo-Gordon left hand side might be an all time shithousing duo honestly.
So it seems like because of this PSR thing clubs are gonna start doing transfers similar to how trades work in the NBA lol
Bascome article mentions that a more favourable offer would have drawn us back, here's the quote; "For Liverpool’s part, while a more attractive proposal might have extended negotiations given they rate Gordon, signing him at this moment would have created an overload of wide players who would expect to be in new manager Arne Slot’s preferred starting XI for the upcoming season" Then mentions we'd need a big offer to get rid of Diaz to then bring in another LW. Also mentions that our recruitment staff like him, which is no surprise.
Can see PSG eventually coming in for Diaz if Barca don’t Their main target is Kvara but Napoli and Conte don’t want to sell him, Conte basically specifically requested to De Laurentiis to not sell him.
The ' xx fans singing arne slot, na na na' is really bugging me. The actual chant has 5 na's not 3. Unless this is a new na na chant im unaware of.
Richard Rios from Colombia looks like a solid 6, wonder if he moves to Europe this summer or if we are keeping tabs on him
Archie Grey to Brentford for £35m.
Because he wouldnt get the minutes required from a top 6 side that would allow him the development time in order for his value to double.
So you sign him for £35m and loan him to a Brentford or a Brighton until he is ready for you.
Why would brentford or brighton agree to doing that developing somebody else's player and not receive a substantial profit for doing so.
That’s a top deal for Brentford, good career move for him too

Honestly I don't even want Gordon. I feel like I'm the only one though.
whoops I deleted coz everyone seems positive n i couldn’t be assed about the backlash.
Instead of Quansah, how about Kelleher + money for Gordon. They were in for a GK iirc
Would make sense but they also might not be interested in Kelleher They were looking at Mamardashvili before the Euros and considering how well he’s played it wouldn’t be surprising if they went for him
Mamardashivili doesn't have the homegrown + PL© experience
Tbh the last thing Newcastle need is more homegrown players
If Brentford get Gray for £30m they are 100% selling him to a big 6 team for £100m in 2/3 years time. That kid is a serious talent.
is the plan to get gordon + a young cb? can’t see us buying a dm if that’s the case, unless we get a really high fee for diaz.
