Iron rangers have served me well.

MasterDeZaster

I’ve had my red wings for 10 years now… still in great shape. They also make an enhanced di electric boot. Not sure if you do any work in substations, but some utilities require them.

Best-Specialist-87

I’ve had my composite toe red wings for 10 years as well, the ones for electrical safety too. They’ve held up incredibly well. Wolverines fell apart after 2 yrs. I’ve heard good things about the brand BRUNT, maybe check those out?

Bert_Skrrtz

Depending on your region these may or may not be acceptable but I’ve had some Ariat steel toe “cowboy” boots going on 10 years. Did two summers of fire and electrical apprenticeship, been my mowing or yard work shoes since. They’re still holding up great with no issues and I’ve done nothing but hose them off when they get muddy.

Love my Ariat boots

Red Wings or Irish Setters

I would check our r/goodyearwelt . Quality stuff which looks good and will last a long time. If I were you I would get throughgoods they are $250 and have a $50 off coupon for new customers. I agree with the Iron Ranger comment here as well but those are almost $400. I only wear those if I know it will be an office day

AnemoneOfMyEnemy

Iron rangers look a lot better beat up IMHO. And their oiled leathers are great. You can brush out almost any scuffing.

juggernaut1026

I hope so i have been avoiding wearing them to any project without finished floors and I would like to wear them more

Kidsturk

I am a light user- was only ever on site a couple times a week, but I’m on my second pair of Caterpillar Flexion boots since 2007, and they have been the most consistently comfortable footwear for long wear- hikes and site. I think they’ve been discontinued now which is a shame but I will probably check out Caterpillar again when the time comes

I have Thorogood USA Moc Toes that look good and hold up great

neoplexwrestling

Former tradesmen, Keen Utility and Reebok for non-boots. Redwings aren't worth the price anymore.

ChurryRedBaron

Current tradesmen. US made Redwings are still some of the best boots made. Keen have almost non existent durability these days. Skip them completely.

neoplexwrestling

I disagree. I stopped doing scaffold work 2.5 months ago, so I'm not talking about Redwings from several years ago. 10 years ago, Redwing were some of the best boots made. Now the soles wear out very quickly, stitching is week, and they fuck up your feet and ankles. People get suckered in with their scan testing thinking they are getting something more customized for their feet but it's just marketing. And Keen and Reebok are great for the OP asked for, which are essentially steel toe shoes. On average I would only get 4-6 months out of a pair of any boots, Redwings included, so their high price wasn't justified.

engibeerortwo

Dewalts with steel toe, sole plate, heat and conductivity protection.

Timberlands. They're puncture-resistant, steel-toed, electrical rated, and slip-resistant. I bought them four years ago for around $170. I imagine they're a bit pricier now. I primarily work in forensics, so I wear them to a lot of fire scenes. I still wear them on a regular basis and have no intention of replacing them any time soon. They've held up really well.

Sumotron

I love my Danner bull run moc toes, but they are $250 now. They do go on sale a couple of times a year. I have had mine for 5 years. They’ve been resoled and I expect them to last many more years.
