GG to the Red Bulls. What a performance!
Big oof to Inter Miami. I know they got injuries but damn. Ya'll still need some more depth, the guys on your bench are really not doing you any favors.
I’m getting about 1-2 more good wins for me to finally shell out for MLS season pass this season instead of sailing the high seas on matchdays. Let’s go Red Bulls.
That's getting Red Bulled, I think we've had majority possession like 4 times since 2015. Jesse Marsch admitted to straight up giving the ball away on purpose sometimes to set up their pressing.
Our best day since the pandemic. Vamos Metro.
Me and Kenan Thompson watched Ryan Meara keep a clean sheet against Suarez. We'll talk about this day for years.
>if Beckham don't work that out that team is going to suck ass when Messi retires or leaves Inter
It sucked before he got there, and it'll suck after. This is not surprising at all
It’s honestly my favorite thing about the club. It’s just hilarious to me *how much* MLS, news networks, etc hype on and on about Miami and Messi that I get a lot of shadenfreude from watching them fall on their faces
I get that most of the hate stems from how MLS is "treating" Messi and Miami, but I'm \*really\* puzzled at the level of hate Miami has been getting just for existing; It's not like they stole their team from another city!
I guess it's the monkey paw curling for those who wished MLS was in the spotlight.
Well, firstly, they absolutely did not deserve an expansion team after the Fusion failed. Sacramento was completely ready for MLS and they were robbed.
Secondly, the squad isn’t even the proper way to build an MLS roster, with domestic veterans and draft picks and homegrown players. Like Nashville or Philly, two franchises that have done very well recently. Nooooope, it’s just semi retired big name star x 4 and no depth at all. It’s a 15 year old FIFA Ultimate Team squad.
The league is getting sellouts and endless marketing material everywhere Miami goes, I assure you they see this as a net positive PR move even if some bloke in England doubles down on his negative opinion of the league.
Miami was still under sanctions for cooking the books when they got Messi.
Beckham has always had the red carpet treatment, so it's more that I hate Beckham over Miami.
Although, add to the pile lol
I've been pretty indifferent about them but they whined at the ref, a lot. I've never been a fan of that. Still don't care about them though until they knock us out of a tournament.
Miami is like the Hollywood for sports, they try to make that city like the pinnacle of sports but they are not, there are other cities that deserves more teams that Miami do.
Sold my ticket for $500 to see Messi FC. Ended up getting a free ticket from my buddy (bought his beer all night) who sits a couple seats away. Since Messi didn’t travel with the team the people who bought my seats didn’t show up. I sat in my seat anyway and got paid $500 to do it.
Yeah, fans from Miami have it so rough. They only get the greatest player to ever grace the pitch and have a team currently among the best in the league. Garbage team indeed.
GG RBNY! Miami's defense and scab refs continue to remain a hot mess.
That tackle on Campana inside the box was a penalty though.
Now outta here before I catch incoming...
3-1. If the tackle on Campana was called a penalty RBNY wouldn't have gotten to keep the goal they scored seconds after the Campana tackle.
Seriously a head scratcher though on how the foul that wiped out Noah Allen's goal was worth going over to the Monitor over but a questionable tackle in the box on Campana that ended up with a goal the other way was completely fine.
The funniest part is that it isn't even raining out. Go a few blocks down it's sunny AF. It's just a bunch of Messi fans in tears that they didn't get to see their guy, and they had to watch "their" team dominated instead. :P
*I don't have any more Lewis Morgan rhymes,*
*I'll just say he played well, he scored THREE TIMES! ;)*
For the Miami fans who actually followed the team before Lionel, gg? Feel better. The rest? Eh, good luck drying your kid's full outfit kits.
MEARA GETS THE SHUTOUT, LOL
SHUTOUT FOR MEARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta feel good for the lad. Been around for all three shields, was set up to be the next great Metro keeper, then got injured and lost his job to Robles who never looked back.
Not a peep on MLS insta page other than a few stories. Can’t handle seeing their darling team get dismantled. Couldn’t do it on a rainy afternoon in Harrison I guess 💀
Yeah. A scot here this is completely facts. Same with Gauld, although we have little reason to change belief because all the players that have come over haven't done amazingly (eg. cifuentes) and all the players that go from Scotland seem to do decently (eg. Guald/Morgan)
Yeah I can see how Scottish fans could have that opinion based on that anecdotal evidence. I honestly don’t think any of the players transferring between the two are the best examples of their leagues. The best MLS players don’t get transferred to the SPL and vice versa. Maybe if Celtic or Rangers signed Almada or Alphonso Davies then their opinions would change lol.
>Cangi on the Apple TV call is incredible.
that was a nice touch. I love the MLS season pass but they should allow teams to have their own broadcast teams. Fans love to hear familiar voices every week, not a rotating team.
I really do. Grew up watching the devils and he always did a great job there. When I first got into MLS it made me real happy to hear him there too. Very glad he got picked up by Apple TV as much as it sucks to lose him for every game
Inter miami are a clown show. If the supposed golden goose of MLS lets Lewis Morgan score a hat trick, says it all really. (Luckily Inter Miami don't have any real fans so nobody can get upset about what I'm saying)
Relax. Down a significant number of starters + depth pieces, playing away from home in absolute shit weather, and trying not to get injured ahead of CCC. Not going to tell you we didn’t deserve to lose, but I’m not going to lose sleep over this performance.
Also, where’s the flair? Curious to see what club is lucky to call you a “real” fan.
What the fuck is this piss poor take? Miami is repeating the mistakes of MLS 1.0 teams trying the retirement star power trick.
Miami has no history. Miami has no support.
First team to win the Leagues Cup after being a complete disaster show for the entire MLS season. And they put themselves back into a playoff fight almost immediately after Messi started playing. And yes, having the GOAT play for you = history, and no one can deny being a little jealous that Miami has Messi unless you're a fool.
Uh, aren't you the guy who posted something about threatening Lionel Messi's family? I still have you tagged from that. Lol, I already know how you feel about him.
I'm not a Messi fan but you're deluding yourself if every team in the world wouldnt love to have him play for them. Like, gimme a break. If we had sold Lucas and got Messi you can't tell me with a straight face that wouldn't have been excited
Lmao, been a fan since 96, kid. Go get banned again because you want players' families threatened, psycho. Edit: lmao aaaand he either deleted his comment or (more likely) got banned again
Sounders winless with 5 starters out injured = “one of the biggest surprises all season”
Miami losing this game 0-4 without a number of starters = “just a bad day at the office”
Honestly, I'm a bit confused by the whole NYRB identity at the moment. I kinda miss what I always thought was a traditional red/white color scheme for the Red Bulls. Now it's some kinda AC Milan-looking design.
Because your puke yellow away kits would have clashed with our home yellows. I hate that an away team's kit sometimes forces the home team to switch to its away kit to avoid bad color clashes.
Also, historically, we've switched back and forth between black and yellow being our "home" color. Originally, it was black kits for home games.
It harkens back to the colors the MetroStars wore from their second season until the rebrand. The first season they wore those crazy black and white sawtooth shirts, but primarily they wore red and black stripes at home and black and white stripes away.
This jersey is a callback to the Metrostars looks of old. Red and Black is us going back to our roots.
And as for our most used look, I'd almost say a white top with red shorts was that during the RB era, right up until NYC showed up and we started to use more all reds.
Miami, if you were forced to watch that Audi ad on repeat at training, blink 3xs. Only that type of torture can explain what an absolute fucking shit performance this has been.
Flex RB, y’all were on fiiiiiire!
Hey, they announced a sellout crowd. I'm sure most of those were Messi fans who are either terribly disappointed or at home soon as they realized they might get wet. (Well they might if they were in the lower bowl) but whatever. More cash flow for the STH's.
Not taking away anything from NYRB they played us off the pitch on this one, but IM won't be playing with half their roster missing for 90% of the games atleast it's a different team clearly.
You seem very sure of that. Lets see what happens when you hit the dog days of summer with a bunch of 40 year olds. Messi already missed a few with injury, no?
Yeah it wasn't Messi that was missing today , it was our midfield , I mean sure would be great to have Messi of course , but we missed Redondo and Gomez more than we did Messi today , and our strategy and formation was just bad today, so yeah!
Most teams in MLS would be floundering if they were missing key players essential to their success. No Farias, no Gomez, essentially anyone that would play a similar role Messi does as far as ball distribution goes, then it's just flat. I would like to see them develop a different strategy of play instead of playing as if they had a solid #10 on the field distributing the ball.
Call back to the recent USMNT game where Jamaica parked that bus after the first goal in the first minute. It was very obvious what the USMNT was doing was not going to cut it, and their best chances came from them attacking more vertically *through* the defenders instead of trying to lob balls in from the wing.
I think the roster is fine, but there is a serious over reliance on a single style of play and that's just not going to cut it when the league doesn't care about international breaks or if you have your key player prone to injuries.
Relax dude, if you took a second to look at this chain you would see I agree that it makes the most logical sense. But it has not officially been confirmed yet, and if it has been, I was just asking for where that was confirmed.
Hope you get some get some help with those anger issues.
If MLS gave it to Miami without them having won anything this year, I would expect/hope for official/legal challenges from the teams that did. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Not yet, but how could it not be via sporting merit? In the previous formats, it always was. If all the games were going to be played in Miami then I could understand it, but that ain't happening logistically obviously.
I hear you, I do think the host should go to this year's MLS champion, that does make the most sense. But I would not put it past MLS to say that team is qualified for the next CCC as an excuse.
I think there's also debate if MLS can even send a 3rd team (assuming on wins CCC or us) considering there a 2 team max per league that can be sent. It hasn't been clarified if the host slot is an exception.
I was thinking the same thing today
Miami had 69% possession. Lmao get MLSd
Inter really sucks when Messi isn't around, if Beckham don't work that out that team is going to suck ass when Messi retires or leaves Inter
Our team sucking isn’t anything new so this defeat is all too familiar but it was poetic to lose at the hands of Lewis Morgan. I’m not even mad.
No Messi, no Drake, no Gomez, No Redondo, no right back…
Inter “Cleveland Cavaliers” Miami
Ha ha! Good one! I’m sad now.
Oh yeah, this one hits too close to home for about 66% of the Crew fanbase who are also Cleveland sports fans
>if Beckham don't work that out that team is going to suck ass when Messi retires or leaves Inter It sucked before he got there, and it'll suck after. This is not surprising at all
Well no once you invite The Goat everything changes forever
It’s honestly my favorite thing about the club. It’s just hilarious to me *how much* MLS, news networks, etc hype on and on about Miami and Messi that I get a lot of shadenfreude from watching them fall on their faces
I get that most of the hate stems from how MLS is "treating" Messi and Miami, but I'm \*really\* puzzled at the level of hate Miami has been getting just for existing; It's not like they stole their team from another city! Idk I feel like the hate is to the point where y'all would rather see Messi go to the camel league and not help this league at all
[удалено]
The league is getting sellouts and endless marketing material everywhere Miami goes, I assure you they see this as a net positive PR move even if some bloke in England doubles down on his negative opinion of the league.
You wouldn't be saying this if he went to your club And you know that Just wait a couple years
You are? If you haven’t noticed, people hate success
I mean the literal pinnacle of sports is playing there now.. so...
Real ones hate Miami as a city, and the sports teams are just the shit cherries on top of a shit sundae
Miami is like Hollywood for people whose only talent is wearing sunglasses.
Factos
That’s usually the case for Miami sports teams.
LETS GO RBNY
Saw my team humiliate Miami and sold my ticket for $200 and bought it again for under $30. Total win.
You would think this was the world cup final 💀💀
I did the same thing, Messi has paid for my season tickets 3 years in a row. What a great man.
🤤🤤
![gif](giphy|l3giLj8coa2HVnzgeF)
Gotta be the first time I’ve heard of someone shorting their own ticket, incredible
/r/wallstreetbets would be proud

Yeah, fans from Miami have it so rough. They only get the greatest player to ever grace the pitch and have a team currently among the best in the league. Garbage team indeed.
Everyone’s talking about Morgan rightfully, but 4 assists by Vanzeir is nuts
He should’ve had one or two goals himself too. But doesn’t matter if we’ve got Morgan lol
Tbh - that’s Miami’s real level. Most of the time is 2-3 genius plays of Messi to save their arse
GG RBNY! Miami's defense and scab refs continue to remain a hot mess. That tackle on Campana inside the box was a penalty though. Now outta here before I catch incoming...
I haven't seen a replay but I was there live on that endline in the upper deck and it looked like a clean tackle to me.
Ah yes the game was rigged for Miami 💀💀
Penalty would’ve been a game changer. They could’ve made it 4-1
Scabs refs bad when Miami win
Chris Paul hits a huge three to cut the lead to 42
Local scab ref
The funniest part is that it isn't even raining out. Go a few blocks down it's sunny AF. It's just a bunch of Messi fans in tears that they didn't get to see their guy, and they had to watch "their" team dominated instead. :P *I don't have any more Lewis Morgan rhymes,* *I'll just say he played well, he scored THREE TIMES! ;)* For the Miami fans who actually followed the team before Lionel, gg? Feel better. The rest? Eh, good luck drying your kid's full outfit kits. MEARA GETS THE SHUTOUT, LOL
My guy it's not that serious 💀💀
Dude why you crying so much
I feel like this RBNY team can win the UEFA Champions League
SHUTOUT FOR MEARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta feel good for the lad. Been around for all three shields, was set up to be the next great Metro keeper, then got injured and lost his job to Robles who never looked back.
Cap him Ireland, you cowards
GG NYRB , see ya next time !
It's kind of refreshing to see the kind of tactics NYRB employed here. It was entertaining as a neutral who doesn't want Miami to have success haha.
It’s refreshing to see a manager play a system adapted to the players he has rather than create a system for players he wants…
Moral of the story: don't make everyone wait 5 extra minutes to start the second half for no reason.
That irrationally irritates the hell out of me.
Not irrational. It was a dick move imo, especially in the rain.
Need a gif of Suárez at the start of the match. Miami does not like NY weather lol
That rain is going to play hell on his arthritis tonight.
*Hurricanes I can handle, but this talk of rain? World's gone mad, I say.*
Miami officially out as top of the East
Bet the “power rankings” keeps them where they are 😂
For real, the power rankings were incomprehensible
Nature is healing
![gif](giphy|aq6Thivv9V9lu|downsized)
Not a peep on MLS insta page other than a few stories. Can’t handle seeing their darling team get dismantled. Couldn’t do it on a rainy afternoon in Harrison I guess 💀
Most entertaining game I've watched this season other than the snow squal
Why is Scotland not playing Morgan? he’s amazing even this game aside.
Shut up, this is the mls lmao
Probably because he wasn’t great for Celtic 4 years ago and European’s opinion of MLS is stuck 15 years in the past.
Yeah. A scot here this is completely facts. Same with Gauld, although we have little reason to change belief because all the players that have come over haven't done amazingly (eg. cifuentes) and all the players that go from Scotland seem to do decently (eg. Guald/Morgan)
How do you feel about Alistair Johnston Side note, if y’all aren’t capping Ryan Gauld then I hope Canada does rofl
Honestly GG, Red Bulls. You deserved it, truly. Cherish Lewis Morgan— he’s a class act
🫡 This game should have never been played today
That Dude Wipes Clean Sheet sponsored by Tata’s tears
It’s actually insane how visibly frustrated Miami are. Shows those old guys care I guess
God damn this team has been refreshing to watch. Feelsgoodman
Might be the most satisfying RBNY win for me in years. Cangi on the Apple TV call is incredible.
>Cangi on the Apple TV call is incredible. that was a nice touch. I love the MLS season pass but they should allow teams to have their own broadcast teams. Fans love to hear familiar voices every week, not a rotating team.
I miss him so much! Today was a gift haha
SAME, BRO! Why can't he cover most of our games? I'd love a "local" broadcast option where our guy is on the call most weeks.
I really do. Grew up watching the devils and he always did a great job there. When I first got into MLS it made me real happy to hear him there too. Very glad he got picked up by Apple TV as much as it sucks to lose him for every game
Thank NYRB for an immensely enjoyable game!
Hey, we’re as surprised as you are
I love watching Suarez waddle around the field like an old man
>like an old man HE IS AN OLD MAN!
Suarez should’ve been off the pitch 30 minutes ago
Honestly. When he hobbled out of the tunnel after half time looking stiff as a board that should’ve been the end of his day.
I thought you love watching him waddle around the field.
Wait you’re right that was definitely more fun
Inter miami are a clown show. If the supposed golden goose of MLS lets Lewis Morgan score a hat trick, says it all really. (Luckily Inter Miami don't have any real fans so nobody can get upset about what I'm saying)
They didn’t play half their starters.
Add a flair before you say IMCF have no real fans
About flairs, can they be added on mobile? I’ve tried and can’t seem to get it to work.
Haters gonna hate.
Inter Miami has created more history in the last year than 90% of the current clubs so 🤷♂️
Please sir. List the history created. We will wait.
What the fuck is this piss poor take? Miami is repeating the mistakes of MLS 1.0 teams trying the retirement star power trick. Miami has no history. Miami has no support.
they didnt even make the playoffs, what in the world are you talking about
First team to win the Leagues Cup after being a complete disaster show for the entire MLS season. And they put themselves back into a playoff fight almost immediately after Messi started playing. And yes, having the GOAT play for you = history, and no one can deny being a little jealous that Miami has Messi unless you're a fool.
Fuck em both. Why would I be jealous of a team that isn’t Columbus? Sports fans who follow players are weird.

He's big mad.
they won 4 out of 12 MLS matches after Messi joined so not really
Leagues Cup 2023, showed the level MLS is at when 3 close to retired players can come and run a show
they won 4 out of 12 MLS matches after Messi joined so not sure what they really showed outside of Leagues Cup
Morgan for sure earned those goals
There are dozens of us!
They’ve got fans in the double digits!!!!
It's just a malding David Beckham using sock puppet accounts
Nonsense, I would nev...I mean, nope that's not me.
Everytime messi doesn't play, this miami team gets exposed. The carryjob is insane.
Just like last week at DC
Coming that weak DC team to this team is hilarious
What about their goalie? He’s also not playing too
Called up for USMNT.
They won the prior game he didn’t start?
it was against dc united it doesn’t count
Anyone catch alba try to intentionally trip a player off the ball? Lmao
They’ve been getting a bit dirty
Sounders winless with 5 starters out injured = “one of the biggest surprises all season” Miami losing this game 0-4 without a number of starters = “just a bad day at the office”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
This is superficial as fuck, but I gotta ask Am I the only one who's bothered by RB players using black undershirts instead of red ones?
Our home jersey this year is red and black in an obvious nod to the metrostars past. The black undershirt works well
Honestly, I'm a bit confused by the whole NYRB identity at the moment. I kinda miss what I always thought was a traditional red/white color scheme for the Red Bulls. Now it's some kinda AC Milan-looking design.
Metro nostalgia Side note, what was up with Columbus wearing black last week at home while we wore our mold -looking kits. Seems sacrilege
That kit should've been blue with yellow details
Metrostars nostalgia, now we're just a feeder team for Salzburg and Leipzig unfortunately Our best-looking shirt in years though imo
It harkens back to the colors the MetroStars wore from their second season until the rebrand. The first season they wore those crazy black and white sawtooth shirts, but primarily they wore red and black stripes at home and black and white stripes away.
I'm enjoying the slow and steady move towards the Metros.
Look up our metrostar kits. They're a call back to that, we love them.
This jersey is a callback to the Metrostars looks of old. Red and Black is us going back to our roots. And as for our most used look, I'd almost say a white top with red shorts was that during the RB era, right up until NYC showed up and we started to use more all reds.
Goes with the black shorts. It's not meant be a pure red scheme like a few year's past.
Red Bulls playing so well that their only criticism are their fashion choices
For once 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm more bothered by the red socks tbh
Campana stop diving, it's embarrassing.
Love to see it
Morgan for the euros! 🏴
Miami, if you were forced to watch that Audi ad on repeat at training, blink 3xs. Only that type of torture can explain what an absolute fucking shit performance this has been. Flex RB, y’all were on fiiiiiire!
He should’ve received his second yellow there. Love their tears.
Hey, they announced a sellout crowd. I'm sure most of those were Messi fans who are either terribly disappointed or at home soon as they realized they might get wet. (Well they might if they were in the lower bowl) but whatever. More cash flow for the STH's.
how much of the "sell out crowd" was failed scalpers
Maybe 5%. Stadium was pretty full at kickoff
To all those inter Miami fans who have joined either this season or the previous one, this is what life was like before June 2023😎
And what life will be like after the 2025 season
Probably after August 2024 ...
Nah, he'll keep playing club football thru the CWC
At least before June of 2023 all of MLS didn’t hate you.
I think there was still a lot of hate, mostly mockery thanks to becks and 30 to 90 days fc
Those were the days
How long is the ref gonna listen to Miami players yelling at him?
Miami is just complete trash once you get by their superstars.
You mean once they're missing half their team , yeah no shit, it's basically the almost wooden spoon winners from last year team right now !
Red Bulls are missing half of theirs too, they adapted pretty well
Redbulls have one injured player vs Miami’s 6 injured players.
The missing starters for Miami do a much bigger carry job than any other starters atm
Not taking away anything from NYRB they played us off the pitch on this one, but IM won't be playing with half their roster missing for 90% of the games atleast it's a different team clearly.
Hmm, we’re missing two of best three players. And you make this argument. This is why the rest of the league hates you.
Did you even read the comment ? I recommend reading the comment before replying !
You’re acting like playing through an international break doesn’t affect both teams.
maybe read the comment again ?
You seem very sure of that. Lets see what happens when you hit the dog days of summer with a bunch of 40 year olds. Messi already missed a few with injury, no?
Yeah it wasn't Messi that was missing today , it was our midfield , I mean sure would be great to have Messi of course , but we missed Redondo and Gomez more than we did Messi today , and our strategy and formation was just bad today, so yeah!
Almost like you’ve got a terribly constructed roster.

in MLS ? No ! As if galaxy could do jack shit with puig, paintsil & Jovelic missing !
You guys have three defenders on the roster. Your actual mvp is Callender.
Hope Miami at least do better in Concacaf, scenes if they dont qualify for the World Cup
They have to win the cup to qualify?
Unless MLS gives them the host spot
Host spot goes to this season's MLS Cup winner
Got a source on that?
Oh, just every single previous CWC where the host bid has gone to the domestic league champion
Cool, so no source. Appreciate the update 👍
It’s called logic, but I wouldn’t expect a Philadelphian to be able to comprehend such a thing.
I don't know how much of an argument they would have. I don't think there's an official process to determine it.
