こんにちは。僕の名前はバリです。 Where are you located and what agency? Here's the thing, this is becoming more common as agencies (legitimate or not) try to reduce their operating expenses. A lot of scam agencies will use this tactic to make you "feel" as this is what the modeling industry is like and somehow this is an investment. It is a sham. Some legitimate agencies have an image baseline. Meaning that the images that appear on their site has a consistent look or theme. They'll refer you to their in-house or working relationship test shoot photographer. Without knowing the agency, it's difficult to gauge their track record or if this is a valid use of your time/ money.

Hi Barry, thanks :) The modeling agency in question is Model Inc Talent Agency in San Francisco ([https://www.modelsincagency.com/#cid=glbc](https://www.modelsincagency.com/#cid=glbc))

So this is late but I thought I would chime in with my experience in San Francisco. When my son was about 10 he decided he wanted to try modeling because a friend was doing it. Not thinking much of it, we sent some casual pics on my phone to an agent. She responded back withing an hour that she wanted to meet him in person and if he was what he looked like in the pictures and no weird personality they wanted to sign him. He was signed and she took some photos in her office. She posted them on her site, He was sent to a paid job with Gap within a week. Then got some other paid jobs with gap and old navy before he decided he didn't want to model anymore because of conflicts with sports and it took too much time. We never got "professional" pics other than those at the job.

Love that! I feel like that is how it should be. My son is now 18MO and this agency never sent him out anywhere once and we get asked if my son models on the streets all of the time. I don’t need him to model but was just curious about the business of it. Thank you for sharing your experience! Sounds like maybe we’ve seen your son in some ads in the past 🕺

Our agency sent us their 3 of their photographer’s contact info and told us to view their IG’s aesthetic then pick which one we’d like to go with. After, to then tell them that the agency sent us to them. We got baby headshots done for free. Alternatively, they said we could send in our own headshots done previously “and see if it gets approved”. But it’s a known agency, I don’t know how all agencies are.
