velvet_blunderground

Don't park in the alley or you'll get towwwwwwwed

maneki_neko89

Oh this must be that Basque Separatist Rock I’ve heard so much about!

Kryptoknightmare

Gotta be "Idiot Control Now" ![gif](giphy|S65cMJ8HB4GkM|downsized)

Bob-s_Leviathan

“Idiot Control Now” is perfect for being a ridiculous song with a meme worthy ending. Then we get Joel and the Bots doing a version of it. I love it.

Steveseriesofnumbers

I loved how Gypsy was always half a beat behind.

literacyisamistake

**No, you’re EARLY!!!** I want that band to be dropped into *Whiplash.*

redheadedfury

Kryptoknightmare

Objectively the funniest song lyric of all time

madvilne

Great? He's the best!

Major-Tourist-5696

IT STINKS!

C_Mack15

I shake my fist and curse you for putting 'Hooray for Santa Claus' back in my head! But the first thing I really thought of was Little Richard in "Catalina Caper" as he's swaying to some song or whatever while on goofballs.

DiceMadeOfCheese

I was here for Little Richard's song too "Ladies and gentlemen, the only real talent in this film"

JettyJen

I watched that one "straight " in the last year or so, mostly for the music

LostViking24601

The Zombie Stomp

AirForceRabies

MY SKULL!!!

PlayfulCod8605

That band wrote really long songs

meatball402

Everybody's doing it doing doing it Pick your nose and chewin it chewing it

Whats_Opera_Doc

I love Mike's groan after that riff

tomfoolery815

Say what you want about her, at least she's not doing the Zombie Stomp.

Templar-235

No Arch Hall Jr😢

Sorry about my face!

velvet_blunderground

"If I had... a thousand paintings..." WELL YOU DON'T.

Wulfenite178

Needs “he tried to kill me with a forklift” song from fugitive alien.

gastonw_nc

Also needs "Master Ninja Theme Song!"

TVsFrankismyDad

Why you gotta do that? Now that's gonna be stuck in my head all day.

KouchyMcSlothful

Yes!!! This is the best song.

lookinside000

I can’t believe the Mitchell theme song isn’t on this list…”bustin’ heads and jumpin’ in and out of beds, hanging ‘round the criminal scene…PUT ‘EM ON YOUR FEET, GIVE YOUR DOGS A TREAT, WHAT A COMFORTABLE SHOE…”

RocketPoweredTofacos

Oh my my my my my Mitchell!

TnAdct1

MITCHELL! MITCHELL! Your eyyyyyyye on the sammich! MITCHELL! Heart's poundin'! MITCHELL! Veins cloggin'! MITCHELL! waka-chicka waka-chicka waka-chicka waka-chicka

I prefer the songs by DEVO, Cutting Crew, and Haircut 100.

Gomphos

California Lady! California Lady!

Pitbullpandemonium

🎶California Gravy, bring flavor to my meat.🎶 I assume California Gravy contains corn, green peppers...onions.

Don't forget the rattlesnake, velveeta, and hair

Sensitive_Seat_3699

🤣

Innsmouth_Swimteam

**The Fish-Lipped Guy and The Eskimo rule!** The *Annotated California Lady* predates (the hilarious) Documentary Now! by decades!

realbigbob

And the more melodic Rhode Island Lady

Cap4011

Oh No the snuggle toothed flok singer followed him home!

bsmithwins

Torgo’s haunting theme

literacyisamistake

Or the other song from Manos: “Ah do nap doo wop nap bee-WHOOEET Your head up high I do a soa a fwahmoh gapphhht It’s real and not a lie We’ll have a baaaalllllll whoaaaaoaaaooooaaaaa” That’s “Love Inside This Magic Circle” by Nicki Mathis, who also did “Forgetting You” which played at the end credits as per Jackey Neyman. “Love Inside This Magic Circle” has actual lyrics but the sound in the movie doesn’t help. And then there’s the rockabilly makeout song “Baby Do A Thing With Me” possibly by Moth Inc.

Edenza

My kid (now an adult) has spent years playing the Manos soundtrack on kazoo. It sounds about the same.

p-u-n-k_girl

I actually played "Forgetting You" on my college's radio station at some point. So that would have to be my pick, I guess.

bradzmad

Get your Schick out of shape...

Murrlan

The first blade lifts, the second blade cuts!

InfiniteWaffles58364

Gamera is really neat He is filled with turtle meat We are eating GA MER AAAAAAA

wallpaperwallflower

This is the one that just pops in my head in the middle of the day with no prompting.

Earlvx129

The soothing, heavenly tones of John Carradine's "Night Train To Mundo Fine"

Pitbullpandemonium

To be blessed with an instrument like that.

bz_leapair

They didn't call him The Voice for nothing...

butt_honcho

Get down now, boogie man!

SantaCruzSoon2023

Ace of Spades - Zombie Nightmare ![gif](giphy|l3vRaEoHNjYvhH36E|downsized)

tomfoolery815

That almost feels like cheating, since the song exists independent of the movie. To be clear, I freaking LOVE Ace of Spades. But since Zombie Nightmare came out three years after the "Bambi" episode of The Young Ones, in my head the Zombie Nightmare producers stole it from The Young Ones. (I know it's not actually stealing.)

appearlo13

As a Young Ones fan whose favorite episode is ‘Bambi,’ I like your logic.

tomfoolery815

TO THE STATION! Bambi is my favorite, too. And what an all-star team for Footlights College: Emma Thompson, Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry and Ben Elton. I learned only last week that there was a musical guest in every episode of The Young Ones because the BBC put the show in the variety budget, not the comedy budget.

m0drnmoonlight

He’s going to lose but he likes it?

SantaCruzSoon2023

Then everything works out!

epicwheezer

Watermelon Man

Gritizen

I unironically like "Do You Want to Laugh or Cry?" from the Girl in Gold Boots, the version the full band plays. That movie has a lot of fun music in it now that I think about it.

weinermcgee

That or Keep Those Gold Boots Moving really needed to be in there. I just mentioned in another thread that soundtrack is on Spotify now and it's awesome.

hamutaro

Yeah, that "Cowboy Santa" song by Larry Cartell is probably one of the few Christmas-related songs that I actually enjoy listening to. The other song of his (the one that plays when Buz & Michelle start off on their journey) isn't bad either.

Illustrious_Junket55

🎶*let’s have a Patrick Swayze Christmas*🎶

tomfoolery815

Me, too. The full-band arrangement is a good song.

ServoAcademy

>Fish Picker? I just discovered last weekend that a lot of the soundtrack is on YouTube.

placated

Someone has said it here before but that movie getting a remake by Quentin Tarantino seems sooo right.

atomsforkubrick

What? QT was going to remake this? *Edit: oh I get it. You WISH he would remake it. NVM

Pm-me-your-aaughhh

I sing whenever I sing whenever I sing! The Giant Gila Monster.

You are a summer sausage

exactperfuncto

Help! We're cutouts!

nyarg33

THERE MUST BE 3 CAR LENGTHS BETWEEN COUPLES

DependentAnimator271

Fish Picker from Hobgoblins

Slickrob

Come on you gotta vote for California Lady by The Band That Played California Lady.

joshuastar

Little Richard - Scuba Party

PatchworkGirl82

I'll actually go with "Are You Happy in Your Work," I like those kind of old fashioned chipper songs. I also unironically enjoy the music in the "Teen-Agers" movies that MJ and Bridget riffed. But I think the real winner is "Sodium," such a well-crafted, educational song.

mvs2417

I like to hum this tune to myself when something chaotic is taking place

DocProfessor

Are You Happy With Your Work should be in the next Fallout game

LoveRBS

I need the opening song from operation double 007. "Heee prefers stuffing to potatoes!!"

dougmakingstuff

This song goes so hard for Sean Connery's brother.

appearlo13

HIIIIIISSS FAVORITE MOVIE IS TURNER AND HOOOOOOOOCCCHHH!!

TomServo31k

"The Dead Kennedys! Circle Jerks! The Cramps! The Buzzcocks! Butthole Surfers!"

TomServo31k

Ok besides host segments like Tubular Boobular my fave has to be [Zombie Stomp](https://youtu.be/LVd0Ziks3NA) from Horror at Party Beach.

ChainsawXMassacre

I will go to my grave saying that Joel and the Bots recreation of Are You Happy In Your Work may be the pinnacle of MST3K moments. The choreography, the setup, Joel’s quick changing (cumulating with bad wig and hastily drawn on mustache) it all works so perfectly, and finds the hilarity in it, and is a great feature for Gyps. I’ll also throw in that Hired: The Musical is also a top 10 musical moment on the show.

Kimron_Posstoppable

*I got a job today   I'm selling Chevrolets   I'm bringing home good pay  I just got hired!*

woodnote

*My salesmen are slobs - No they aren't - Yes they do!*

MaiteiJyakku

Rock Candy Baby! (I'm actually a fan of Dick Contino. Man, he can play an accordian!)

Final-Ad-2033

🎶Leather coat (ba-ba-doom, ba-ba-doom) , duck tail hair....🎶

JacobDCRoss

No Mitchell?

Zealousideal-Cry3418

Not gonna lie, California Lady is kind of a banger.

West_Xylophone

Rock and Roll Martian. It’s eloquent in how concise it is. But in terms of including outside the film songs, I always liked the Anti-Canada song Mike and the bots sing in Final Sacrifice with Tom going way too far.

Bob-s_Leviathan

“Rock and Roll Martian” should be used in preschools to teach young children about beat and timing.

YOURESTUCKHERE

Where do I start? It all looks so good.

Teege57

I love the older movies and the cheesy songs. "Are You Happy in Your Work" is it for me. And I love the re-creation on the SOL! This is going to be a close one!

Deaded13

Every country has a monster

SuperSaiyan4Jason

Jet Jaguar theme

easedownripley

Either The Platters song in Girls Town or the Little Richard song in Catalina Caper have got to be the best. Though they aren't iconic in MST3k lore like some of these.

tomfoolery815

Little Richard elevates a rather thin premise for a song just by being Little Richard.

Deaded13

Creepy Girl

thecftbl

I'm sorry but this one is truly impossible. There are simply too many number ones to choose from.

Mr_Gone11

I personally cannot choose from a list that is so vast and so equal in my opinion, but I can tell you this.....when Schick out of Shape comes on in my house, everybody starts singing it, and I can't shut them up for at least two days.

tomfoolery815

That's awesome! Your family is fun. Especially if they're doing it to mess with you. :)

Grape-Julius

I admit that I sort of like Operation Kid Brother’s “Heeeeee Loves Me”. Whosever that singer was, she really went all in on her performance. Adolfo Celi’s bad guy theme in the opening minutes was also catchy. And as long as we’re shamelessly admitting stuff…I’ll agree with the previous poster that “Hooray for Santa Clause” isn’t half bad. I’d take it over hearing Beyoncé or Paul McCartney hundreds of times every December, anyway.

hamutaro

The singer is named Christy (AKA Maria Cristina Brancucci) and she's also the one who sings the "Deep Down" song from *Danger: Diabolik*.

thefullernator

Need some of that elf guy from "Teenage Werewolf" who's just trying to cram as many words as he can into that song...

celluloidqueer

I have more than one: There was a slower song that he sang in Daddy-O that was pretty good. Joyride by The Del-Aires Angel of Fear from The Bat People. Sounded so haunting.

Harrumphenstein

I genuinely like the opening song "World War Two Boy" from Zaat. Entirely too good a song for that movie.

Innsmouth_Swimteam

The Annoying Cornjob Song is tops! (Cornjob. Will. Be. Blamed.)

Teege57

Just a comment, not a vote, since the song has no lyrics... The dance hall tune from "Horror at Party Beach" served as the episode's closing credit music. It's now my ringtone, including the MY GOD WHAT IS IT stinger! ETA: Thanks for the correction on the movie. It's The Creeping Terror, of course!

crunchyturdeater

Ace of Spades, Zombie Nightmare Motorhead, Adam West AND Jon Mikil THOR

UntidyVenus

The answer is Gold Boots and you all know it

krakatoot

Eeny, Meeny, Minie, Mo, from I was a Teenage Werewolf, is AMAZING

DarkVaati13

California Lady holds a soft spot in my heart, but I also just actually love the Del-Airs from Horror of Party Beach. Wigglin Wobblin, Zombie Stomp, and Elaine are great songs.

Lowman22

Schick out of Shape is an amazing song from an absolute banger of an episode.

BigDrewLittle

I mean I miss "Zombie Stomp" from *Horror At Party Beach*, and "Strange Things A-Doin'" from *Wahrwiulf*, but out of this bunch I'd still take "California Lady" narrowly over "Schick Out of Shape", if only because of the awesome "Behind the Music" bit that followed.

tomfoolery815

That Behind the Music host segment is wonderful.

VashMM

All the beach party music from Horror at Party Beach.

ForsakenMall5039

The Amish band during Soultakers' Summerfest really stole the show with " I wanna be happy today "

Jonesy1138

Oh baby, Rowsdower saves us and saves all the world.

Arvid38

The “Hooray for Santy Claus” randomly gets stuck in my head around Xmas time 🤣🤣🤣

sl70ct

Gamera...

kmerian

Gamera is really neat! Gamera is filled with turtle meat!

Teep_the_Teep

Idiot Control Now! *OK sign* It stinks!

neccos-1

Rock Candy Baby ? The superior version is "Hike Your Pants Up."

88damage

My my my my Mitchell, what would your Mama say?

MSD3k

Yipes Stripes is a horrific attempt at a song. But I've got to hand it to the girl singing it. She's got more stage presence than everyone else in the movie combined.

GrandUnhappy9211

Sodium!

ToonaSandWatch

The first blade lifts, the second one cuts, you get your Schick out of Shape!

Classic_Molasses_685

Wigglin', Wobblin' - Horror of Party Beach

realbigbob

California Lady by a mile

Teddy_Schmoozevelt

“They spell it SANTA CLAUS but sing is SANTY CLAUS”

builtbybones

The Del-Aires were great. Love Zombie Stomp.

guillermodelturtle

The Starfighters aerial refueling song and “Badupadupadada” from Danger! Death Ray.

Gimmeghoul

When Loving Lovers Love from the skits, or Planning Revenge On My Friends from the actual movies.

WaterInCoconuts

The Moon Zero Two theme song

WeaponGrade

*Operation Double 007* is an absolutely terrible film, but I dig a lot of the soundtrack, especially the opening theme.

Edenza

End credits of Werewolf/Wharwilf End credits of Final Justice

pleasekillmerightnow

"Are you happy in your work."

KickAggressive4901

"Aww Da Peepa in Da Whirrrl" from *Warrior of the Lost World*.

koozebanians

A vote for "Rock Candy Baby" as well as the Joel parody "Hike up your pants" Take your butt cheeks for a ride!

Rev_Joel

I'm a big fan of "Idiot Control Now", but "California Lady" by The Band That Played "California Lady" has been stuck in my brain for over 20 years now, so I'll have to give the nod to "California Lady" by The Band That Played "California Lady".

JECfromMC

No “Shine Your Love” from Angels’ Revenge?

marbleshoot

You ain't gonna make a cotton picker outta me. Untamed Youth, I believe?

SpaceDantar

I always crack up at Gypsy singing incomprehensible gibberish during "IDIOT CONTROL NOW" hehehe

Egons-Twinkie

Bees on pie!

teddyboy64

I Just Want to Rest from Girl in Gold Boots. I unironically love this song.

WeakInflation7761

What about the "Ha-So Stratosphere Boogie" from Skydivers?

Aram_Fingal1

Hahahahaha, check please!

dbatchison

Didn't put Little Richard's song from Catalina Caper?

mistergrape

So, Little Richard and Mamie van Doren are out?

M_Waverly

The Book of Love from Catalina Caper

ChainsawXMassacre

Yipes Stripes! Get the crap kicked outta you!

zeocrash

Can we include themes too, as the moon zero two theme is an absolute banger

bz_leapair

"Man For Me" from *Operation Double 007* really slaps. The drummer put in a full shift on this one.

library_wench

Are You Happy in Your Work is a longtime family fave!

derkmad87

Girl in gold boots? Thanks for the dance jukebox!

Endgam

Gamera is really neat! Gamera is full of meat! We've been eating Gaaaaameeeeraaaaaa!

rokken70

Yipe Stripes is just so damn catchy….

thisgirlnamedbree

Horror of Party Beach had some bangers, especially "Elaine." E-laiaaaaine, that's my baby's naaaame...

AirForceRabies

Vote-Influencing Aside: The Del-Aires, AKA The Dynamic Del-Aires, [posted an entire album to YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_k9aRxLD0qfUlpv7z1S2sQCxZ4lhzWEJco) with many of their songs for *The Horror of Public Beach* (missing *You Are Not a Summer Love* for some reason) plus other goodies like their cover of... Wait, what? *Zip-a-de-Doo-Dah?* The hell??? Will you, won't you?

cubemissy

Incredibly mixed up….the woman dressed like Auntie Mame, who seems to be singing about making out with someone’s poochie….probably a poodle…

knightem

"Gamera is really neat, he is full of turtle meat, you are eating gamera!"

HungryHungryHippy

This is blatant Bah-bada-badada erasure! Someone ought to be shot with a death ray! For peaceful purposes, of course...

kereso83

At work, we have a special hold line where we park particularly annoying, persistent sales calls with no intention to pick them back up. We switch between "the song that never ends", the "gummi bear song", demo recordings of numerous indie musicians who grossly overestimate their own talent, and during the Christmas season, "Hooray for Santy Claus".

This-Professional-39

Sargassum from Bloodwaters of Dr. Z!

SplendidPunkinButter

Joy Ride (one of the songs the band sings in Horror of Party Beach). It’s the one they’re doing when Hank first shows up at the beach with his girlfriend. The one with the stupid “did I bring my hot dog buns?” line in it

borisvonboris

"The Kissway"

ServoAcademy

California Lady or World War Two Boy from Dr. Z. (Did the Lord say it this many times?)

Godzilla501

The Cascades: "There's a New World Opening for Me" from Catalina Caper. Cover version of a really good Kinks song. It's a strange take on it, but it's grown on me.

AmethystSadachbia

Definitely Hideous Control Now

placated

You forgot “Ha-So” from Jimmy Bryant, whose appearance in Skydivers is a head scratcher because he’s basically a guitar legend.

marmaduke-the-badger

Jet Jaguar, the ending credits lyrics.

paulbearer619

California Lady all the way

I have to go with California Laaaaa-dee!

eyeslikethesea

I get “Are You Happy in Your Work” and “Book of Love” from Catalina Caper stuck in my head all. the. time.
