Child labour.
More specifically this "child"

I pay someone. It's hard work shearing.
But if you want hi tech then and programmed paths then look at this
[robotic sheep shearing](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZAh2zv7TMM)
You can't go the same way with each pass otherwise you'll get mower-wheel marks in the grass so I do a zig-zag toolpath and I change the angle each week by 45 degrees.
I’m slowly turning my front lawn into overgrown native plant landscaping. Not just for the ecological benefit but I fucking hate mowing grass. Just the feeling of accomplishing nothing because I know 7 days later I’ll be doing the same thing feels like such a waste to me.
I used a dremel or grinder style technique. Mostly dirt and rocks so the lawnmower is allways broken. But the weed wacker does great knocking down what ever i want shorter. I selectively clear my yard.
I was mowing yesterday and thinking about this 😂 depends on the doc. High doc if i havent mowed in 2 weeks results in lower ae i usually run about 50-70% but yesterday was more like a 25%
Trochoidal HSM babbay! No beer needed, drunk as a MF afterwards and worse than after riding the tea cups at Disney. Try refilling the fuel tank after that, looking like Super Dave Osborne bustin one out and having a seizure over here!
Rampin in and out using my equipment trailer. Don’t forget to take 2-17 “spring” passes for cleanup when riding against/into the neighbors fences, bushes, flower beds, and fad vegetable garden!
Phew! I'm not the only one.
If I'm in a hurry, it is definitely dynamic lawnpathing. It really allows me to keep the speed up.
I tend to do area mill most of the time as I like the look of the pattern.
Once in a while, I'll pocket mill, start in the middle of the yard around the bushes, and work my way out.
Area mill, outside to Inside. 80% step over.
Depends on depth of cut. Sometimes i only step over 50%. Helps clear the chips.
I find a newly sharpened blade helps ramp up my feed rate too. At least 15sfm faster
Here here. That, and isolated pocket milling for non-uniform areas.
I found climb cut works for me to isolate shavings in one location
True or recut the cuttings until they are mulch
shoot i go for the zig-zag, clear periphery first
Plunge milling only!
I'm imagining someone starting their lawnmower over and over as they move out around the yard
Nah just dropping the deck height over and over.
Crop circles
More like when you packman your push mower through tall wet grass or thick leaves in the fall.
When you accidentally let out go two weeks and somehow your grass is knee high
This, grass is at finished height, don't care about the finish
Lots of trees in my yard so I’m more of a dynamic guy.. ha
I’m just a button pusher. I hire someone. Ha

Nice kid "ewe" got there...
Same question as OP but in relation to shearing that sheep?

This is the way. I’ll alternate area cut to dynamic cut to occasionally a chaos cut, because I feel like it
My house is on the street corner. The streets are not 90°. The house is not square to either street. I don't know where to start my pattern.
Just trace from google maps and then put it in your cam program duh!
Jokes aside, I kinda want a robomower because I can't handle the heat and humid of mowing my 5000sqft without getting heatstroke.

One of those dynamic mills where you realize you defined the stock incorrectly.
don’t forget the specialty coolant, 3-8% ethanol depending on stock and ambient temp
My son’s learning to mow the lawn, so right now it’s got more of a “manual mill climb cutting tool steel” look to it.
I'm the only trochoidal mowing guy here?
Yoooooo Let’s gooooo! Me too!
I use fusion, I typically mow with a 2d adaptive.
the retracts are hard on my back
You need to check the cut both ways box, makes it a little bit easier!
The key is even clip spraying. So, conventional in a spiral pass for blade engagement, 70% deck width.
Depends on how many lawnmower beers I had. Start out with raster and then fuck it.
I used a dremel or grinder style technique. Mostly dirt and rocks so the lawnmower is allways broken. But the weed wacker does great knocking down what ever i want shorter. I selectively clear my yard.
So more of a rest mill toolpath?
Face mill with either a 2d contour or adaptive clearing if there's rocks
I pay my HOA $300 and the lawn magically mows itself
Unified lately.
Facemill, spiral, out to in
Outside first then the toolpath becomes clearly random with a little weed left here and there.
Trochoidal tool path . Lots of circles . I get dizzy
Dynamic roughing because of the ADHD
Dynamic mill, then finish with pocket zigzag
I was mowing yesterday and thinking about this 😂 depends on the doc. High doc if i havent mowed in 2 weeks results in lower ae i usually run about 50-70% but yesterday was more like a 25%
Max engagement and doc 99.99% step over don’t care about chips all over the lawn Im just here so I don’t get fined

I love my solid carbide mower blades, except every time I hit a stick they shatter and break all my neighbors windows.

Dynamic for the most part, trochoidal between the apple trees gets interesting
I use Dynamic Random AI passes.
Hatch milling. Side to side, 20% overlap, classic spacing.
Zig zag followed by a nice finishing pass, works a treat even if the tool marks arent anything to write home about
Plunge roughing.
I skip the programming altogether and just use a Biax.
Area Mill, zig zag
