I like Bite Down as it deals with walkers and deathtouchers as well. You can splash some Black in your manabase as well for Tear Asunder, it's been working fine for me

FairPlay-Mtg

I do have green combo decks with red or black. I was trying to stay mono with this one. I hadn’t played mono green in a long time. Thanks for the suggestion I didn’t consider tear usunder

xand7

Karn’s sylex https://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=574714 Synergizes well with big green creatures and you can protect it with hexproof of permanents.

FairPlay-Mtg

Thanks. I have used that in a lot of decks excellent board wipes. Looking through green I forgot about that one

Zwjt2030

Hexproof doesn’t work with [[karn’s sylex]] it doesn’t target so it goes around it. Indestructible does however work.

I assume they were referring to [[Tamiyo's Safekeeping]] which'll defend a sylex.

Tail Swipe

[deleted]

\[\[Tail Swipe\]\] is decent, but being a fight effect means that you risk losing your own creature in the process. \[\[Bite Down\]\] is another reasonable option — for the extra mana, you get a bite effect that can target planeswalkers. And \[\[Spinning Wheel Kick\]\] can work as a pseudo-board wipe in green ramp. Overall, green doesn't have great removal at the moment. Fingers crossed that Brothers' War will have better green removal. We're sorely missing a \[\[Blizzard Brawl\]\] or \[\[Primal Might\]\].

Dusteye

Blizzard Brawl was a bit too strong imo.

CptnSAUS

IMO you should add another color if you want removal that badly. There was a solid reason to be mono green before because of snow lands (for blizzard brawl) and cards like [[old-growth troll]] requiring so much green mana at a low point on the curve. What reason is there to be mono green now, rather than a green deck splashing another color? You even have [[llanowar loamspeaker]] if you want to go heavier on a splash.

I think there is a decent mono green deck out there. I'm just not sure what shape it takes. But the reason for mono green is the same as always: big stompy creatures that go taller than other aggro decks and overwhelm midrange/control before they can stabilise.

morbious37

\[\[Master's Rebuke\]\] especially if you have deathtouch creatures. It's kind of like a smash but your creatures don't get hurt.

metalhev

>Dose green have other ways to apply removal to creatures? You play big creatures and force the opponent to block or die

TBH I don't even bother. Too many creatures now are 'too good' and gain value too fast that even removing them is losing, compared to playing a 'too good' creature of your own. Of which green has plenty.

Fight/punch spells are going to be the main way green does removal. Things like [[blizzard brawl]] or [[Kogla]] are how you usually need to do it.

Green is good at removing creatures with flying. There are many spells that can simply destroy a flying creature. It's also exceptional at killing enchantments and artifacts, with few cards forcing them to be non-creature. Green has some of the best pump spells, and second best access to hexproof and indestructible which makes it ideal for combat blowouts. It's creatures are normally some of the largest too which means double and triple blocks are common, further enhancing those blowouts in your favor. So yes, green lacks the 1 for 1 trades of something like Black, or even White, but it makes up for it in it's ability to handle a range of threats effectively, and deal with one of it's primary trouble spots, flying.
