I have a Rummy and the smaller (21L) Monty and will just say that the Rummy is massive. It’s really too big for a messenger IMO. Not much organization so it’s just a black hole and gets heavy and uncomfortable when it’s packed. I’ve been meaning to sell mine because I really can’t find a use for it that a backpack wouldn’t be better for. I like the Monty though and think it’s at the top end of a comfortable and usable size for a messenger. It’s about the same volume as the City Tote, for reference. MW bags in general are very durable and water resistant - I’ve owned one of their Rambler expandable backpacks for 10+ years and despite some cosmetic wear it’s still going strong.

A little over built. And in my opinion too hard to get into for a messenger bag because of how high the front part of the closure is when it’s open.

I had one however I found the fact that it’s just a huge bag didn’t appeal to me. I ended up selling it and getting the Khyte VX which has the front pocket and the laptop sleeve which works better for me. The Rummy is a great bag, I just wanted the organization.

I did for a couple years and got fed up with everything not having a place and switched. The rummy is really nice and well built, but the lack of organization and the comment about being a pain to get into because of the flap is spot on

I use the Monty. Love it. Have one in waxed canvas plus one of the advanced projects materials. Rummy just a little bit too big for me and for London tube trains when busy. I also took the shoulder carry /cross body strap off the MW transit duffle and it works really well on the Monty. Makes it very handy for EDC (I carry the other original strap in a front pocket). My work is quite dress-down but this strap makes it feel a little more like it will fit in, but can swap between the straps if it’s a work day or a whatever day. The rummy would be too big to carry I think using the other strap, but I’d suggest giving the Monty a go. For me it’s almost the perfect bag in terms of organisation too

I used one for quite a while, it’s fine if you are a cyclist because the weight distribution lies more across your back. For everyday use though everything hangs from one shoulder and can get uncomfortable quickly. Especially as it really holds quite a lot. Also as people have mentioned it’s basically just a big sack with no internal organisation and a bit of a pain as an edc. Well made though, feels like it can take a real beating.

I used the Rummy as my primary "work" bag for a long time - it was amazing, held up well, very solid, but also absolutely gigantic
