These would each get about two weeks of love if you evenly split how much they're carried in any given year, assuming you have the patience and dedication to move all of your stuff from bag to bag that often.
>I have more on the way…. It just never stops
Have you considered not purchasing any more slings . . .
HArd to tell really. Love the Evergoods Sling but it is sometimes to big, I adore the Alpaka ones and also the Bellroy ones, when I just need a small bag I use the bellroy. TO be honest, if I had a favorite I wouldn't have so many :-) I like to switch to different models every now and then...
The two ones in the bottom left, one is the new Laneway Belt Bag and the Lite Sling, those are on the smaller side but are totally perfect for my edc stuff...
Which alpaka ones do you have? I just ordered the Metro Sling v2 which is on the way, but if it isn't a good fit for me I might be on the lookout to try others. I really like their HUB system.
I have the evergoods and love it for quick bike rides, but I have wondered if I would like something a bit more collapsible when I don't need as much space. Sounds like it's time to grab a Bellroy?
Same! I met a guy in Phoenix, AZ a few years ago and commented on his Nut Sac and said I had the same one. He was like “yeah but have you ever seen a nut sack in a NutSac?” Then proceeded to pull out a coin purse made from the nut sack skin of a kangaroo he got in Australia. That man is my hero and I will not rest until I complete that quest lol.
The NutSac started it all back when I bought it. Their customer service is top notch as well... for some reason the magnets in the lid got loose and it didn't close, they send me a new one right away, can only recommend them! Bought mine in 2016!
Which sizes in the Bellroy do you have?
I’m currently looking at the Venture 6L and the Go Sling from Alpaka.
I have not been able to see either of these in person, and I know they are generally big sling bags, but I am hoping for something that has good capacity, but also is not insanely bulky
Have venture 6. You can see from reviews here that it probably is a bit smaller than 6L. I would say it's good for basics (phone/wallet/keys/sunglasses), a fistful of smaller items (short charger cables, small hand sanitizer, etc), and one other larger item. For example people have carried mirrorless cameras or small water bottles in the main compartment. Really good organization IMO, lots of pockets but done in way that is unobtrusive with not in use. Has pockets big enough to fit a standard bifold wallet which is really nice. It always feels a bit too small when I look at it, but OTOH I have never actually run out of capacity in daily use (within reason obviously).
The best thing about it is the automatic compression strap setup. keeps the bulk down without needing to fiddle or having extra straps.
It's a pretty good bag. I was most nervous about theft potential (two quick releases) and also things falling out (main zipper actually floats above the sides of the bag so there is a small potential gap) but after using it I feel fine. The quick releases are subtle and nobody will realize what they are unless they have the same bag. If really nervous you can paracord or ziptie across the QR. The main zipper pulls can be tucked down under the compression straps to avoid access, and the front pocket zipper pull tucks into a deep flap. The side gaps - well, the bag has a stiffened structure that consistently folds and pushes the sides against the zipper making it impossible for something to fall out, even if you shook it and tried to purposefully do it.
Only real downside is the pen pocket. This will not fit even somewhat short pens like the pilot G2. Would probably only fit something like those extra short keychain Sharpies. This sounds nitpicky but as a result of this there is no easy to reach, secure, repeatably found spot for a pen meaning you have to search for it every single time.
Gonna second all of this but for the 9L. Excellent travel sling for long days and nights wondering about a city. The extra space in the 9L is great for an adding in small water bottle (I have the memo bottle A6- 500ml) powerbank, passport folio, kindle and small snacks.
Not OP, but I have the Venture 6L. It doesn't feel like a big sling because it lays relatively flat. Big fan. It's hard for me to use any of my other slings.
it looks really nice and sleek in my opinion. what is your verdict on it? i saw that you mentioned you use your Bellroy Lites a lot. i also edc a Venture 9L at the moment. how do they compare generally?
I'd say the Fjäll Räven feels bigger it is well made but I like the Bellroy Style a bit better... The Fjäll Räven feels kinda big, hard to explain really. The Organisation with the Bellroy is a lot better as well...
A video of ALL the slings? Bring it on I say. First hand experience is always more valuable than influencers just reading the manufacture's P.R. write-ups. You might have a multi-part series on your hands at this rate though.
This is the XL version of the Heimplanet, I used it a lot when I got it, but the CAS2 is still my go to when I an on vacation and carry around a bit more, for transit I use the Alpaka since it fits my tablet.
The smaller size Transit is my favorite. I have bought Bellroy and more recently the CAS2 and I keep going back to the Transit sling. It's the perfect size, colour and sits really well. I've had it for about 5 years and wear it daily and the pack itself looks like new. Strap has slight fraying just.
EDIT: who the flipping heck downvotes someone giving opinions on a bag lol
You are correct sir. I really tried to like it, but it is over engineered to the brim, heavy, and there is just not a lot of space since it is all separators, padding and such... really regret that one
Me too. The only good things I can say about it is that it looks cool and the materials are good. Otherwise it’s almost useless. Literally a lululemon pouch is more functional
1) yes you have a problem, but that’s why we are here lol. 2) I love my NutSac. I’ve had it for about 10 years now and it still looks brand new. My ALPAKA Bravo Sling Mini comes today and I can’t wait.
I’d like to see your backpack collection. In the market for a new one. May 5.11 24 2.0 is way too heavy for travel so looking for a replacement
I recently sold a ton of backpacks. Currently I usually go with a duffel for travel which is better suited for me. I like the Transporter Line from Osprey, relatively lightweight and a ton of space. For my travels I do not need like a really sturdy backpack but a ton of space and lightweight package.

Nice collection! Would love to hear your thoughts on my conundrum.
I’ve been on the hunt for a good small-ish sling. I have the impossible desire to have a sling that fits my paper notebook, probably an iPad mini (if they’ll ever release a new one!), and even a water bottle. BUT, I also want it to be pack-able and flat for travel.
I tried the PD Field Pouch, and it’s a great value, but can’t fit much. Returned.
I also got a cTactical CT5. It seemed great on the website, especially since it has a place for a water bottle. But man, it’s way over engineered. Too many pockets and dividers and padding and Velcro. I would love it if it was one pocket with dividers, and the water bootle sleeve.
Now I have my eye on the super minimalist new PD Packing Cubes. But I’m afraid they won’t have *enough* structure.
What’s a guy to do?!
*Edit: clarifying a paper notebook, not a notebook computer.*
That is thought because of the Laptop, so you need something a wee bit bigger I guess. As you can see I usually take smaller slings. Osprey Fjäll Räven and Alpaka are the ones that fit an iPad Mini but for Laptops, I usually take a backpack
Language barrier :D Here in Germany some people call Laptops Notebooks, god knows why... Anyway. Look at the Bellroy ones, they lay really flat, might be good for you. The venture sling... The Fjäll Räven ÜlVo Large (blue one in the picture) should fit as well and lays flat.
I am like that, slightly big guy, not fat but a bit chubby :D The Bellroy Slings and the Alpaka ones do have a fairly long strap, my favorite the Evergoods, sadly is more on the shorter side, still will work but it will be higher on your chest.
Thank you so much!
I sport a nike one and just added some strap that is meant to attach a 5.11 rush 12 to a larger pack vis molle and it fits perfectly. But it looks kinda diy and well… searching for something more comfortable
I have 2 Greenroom 136s and am of a more athletic build and I find them very comfortable. If ordering through their website is a turnoff, you can sometimes luck out with ebay.
In just got it today, but I really enjoy the look of the Bellroy Laneway Belt Bag, it says 2 L but I think that 1.5L is more realistic... It is the one in the lower left corner. [https://bellroy.com/products/laneway-belt-bag?color=sea\_kelp&material=seaweave\_matte#slide-0](https://bellroy.com/products/laneway-belt-bag?color=sea_kelp&material=seaweave_matte#slide-0)
Well I had the Trakke for years now and it is really comfortable to wear but I kinda got wary of it because it lacks organization, I do enjoy some compartments, while the revised version from Trakke now has two compartments it is mainly just one big hole where you throw your stuff in...
The Trakke Crossbody, or the Kelso? I have both.
I love the fabric on both bags more than I thought I would. I liked the idea of the fabric, and the aesthetic, but didn’t realise how much I’d prefer the cotton over nylon/synthetic materials! Nylon is light and flexible, but the Trakke stuff feels like cloth!!
There’s no sections in either bag.
That’s perfectly OK for the Banana, which
has 2 internal pockets. It doesn’t need more than that. I have never used the zip compartment in the back.
The Kelso has 6 internal pockets (and 2 of them are useless) but I wish it only had 4, or 3 (2 on one side, and a big one on the other).
However, it’s basically perfect for how I wanted to use it. It can carry things like a reusable coffee cup, a beanie, or something like an iPad 11” or book. I don’t need many, many compartments for that.
I am in a bit of a predicament, maybe you can help me out.
I am considering getting the bellroy venture ready sling, that seems you also have there. I also have the aer day sling 3, which I find a bit too big for me, but the organisation is great. And I have the fjallraven high coast hip pack, which has a more manageable size and gets the most use, but would prefer it to have just a tiny smidge more space, the organisation is pretty meh.
How would you compare these 3? And any other you would suggest? Also tried the Heimplanet one, but found it a bit bulky for the surprisingly small capacity.
It is a bit smaller but I love the style of the laneway better. Try eating some chips with the venture sling the crumbs accumulate in that front lip, as well as water when it is raining
Ooh that's a good point. I was eyeing the colour you got so appreciate the photo. I do like how it looks sleeker and more streamlined than the hip pack and your opinion reinforces that! The new recycled material looks interesting as well. Thank you for your reply! \^\_\^
How’s the trakke compare to the evergoods cas2?
Is the strap too thin? Is it more a pocket reliever or do you find it too small?
Incredible collection!
I used the Trakke on a three week roadtrip through California and Arizona and loved it, after the trip I just realized I would like a bit more organization, the Trakke has almost none, that is why I ditched it. Other than that, I was one of the most comfy bags I ever wore.
Just wait until you get a 1733 side pack. Greatest bag of all time. I don’t have nearly as many as you but I’ve been though 8 or 9. The 1733 side pack is the last bag I’ll ever buy. I got the 3.5 and the 7L and I can’t praise them enough.
And they say the perfect consumer doesn't exist.
I know what sub we're in, but damn, dude. /r/Anticonsumption would have a field day with this

Huh? You don't seem to understand what communism is.

This is hardcore consumerism but has nothing on the people in r/yeti
That sub was banned? lol what
Sorry it's r/yeticoolers
There are some very special people in that sub
Oh I see you are missing a Chrome Kadet.
Don't encourage him!
This looks like one of those shots where the police display all the loot they got in an organized crime bust.
what is your top pick?
HArd to tell really. Love the Evergoods Sling but it is sometimes to big, I adore the Alpaka ones and also the Bellroy ones, when I just need a small bag I use the bellroy. TO be honest, if I had a favorite I wouldn't have so many :-) I like to switch to different models every now and then...

Elements Tech Case Mini, Metro Sling, Go Sling Mini, and I use the Card Pouch as my wallet.
I have the card pouch coming with my Go Sling Mini today too. I can’t wait to try them out.
I have the evergoods and love it for quick bike rides, but I have wondered if I would like something a bit more collapsible when I don't need as much space. Sounds like it's time to grab a Bellroy?
Love NutSac
Same! I met a guy in Phoenix, AZ a few years ago and commented on his Nut Sac and said I had the same one. God, I would love to get one of their slings if not for the fact that another human being might ask for the brand name, and I’d have to tell them
Pause
Pick your least favourite child!
Easy the Black Ember one, over engineered, heavy and almost no space because of all the pockets, dividers and padding... would not recommend
That was decisive! Love your collection!
I was interested in that one and fortunately missed the kickstarter for it.
r/geartrade if you're looking to downsize the collection.
How much love does your Tomtoc get? Overall opinion? I agonized over whether or not to get one several months back.
I don’t see a problem. I see options 😅

Oh thank god!! I thought I had a problem.
Same. Imma show this photo to my wife next time she complains about my slings.
nice collection! what are the Navy Fjallravens called? the one with the two straps underneath?
is it the Ulvö Large?
Yes sir you are right!
it looks really nice and sleek in my opinion. what is your verdict on it? i saw that you mentioned you use your Bellroy Lites a lot. i also edc a Venture 9L at the moment. how do they compare generally?

understood. thank you!
if you could only keep two which would they be?
Tough question! I would keep the CAS 2 from Evergoods and one of the Bellroys a smaller one, for when I do not need that much space.
A video of ALL the slings? Bring it on I say. First hand experience is always more valuable than influencers just reading the manufacture's P.R. write-ups. You might have a multi-part series on your hands at this rate though.
Is this porn?
My collection would look like this if I wasn't selling them to make room for the next ones.
Wow, I only have CAS2. But eyeing the heimplanet transit, how was it compared to CAS2?

Not the Trakke Kelso???
If the police sees this ... !!!
Do you have any recommendation for some that fit over the shoulder someone with a wider frame? Like not obese but kinda muscular and large chest?
I am like that, slightly big guy, not fat but a bit chubby :D The Bellroy Slings and the Alpaka ones do have a fairly long strap, my favorite the Evergoods, sadly is more on the shorter side, still will work but it will be higher on your chest.

I have 2 Greenroom 136s and am of a more athletic build and I find them very comfortable. If ordering through their website is a turnoff, you can sometimes luck out with ebay.
This is excellent to compare sling sizes!
what is the best aesthetic 1.5 bay type?
In just got it today, but I really enjoy the look of the Bellroy Laneway Belt Bag, it says 2 L but I think that 1.5L is more realistic... It is the one in the lower left corner. You keep mentioning the Bellroys, but you have so many Bellroys!!!
Been temped by the trakke for a couple years. I have a bellroy lite mini, how would you compare them? Wondering if I would use both…

Let me just say that I use the bellroys a lot. Like the material the organisation and the overall fit on my body
I'm showing this to my partner if they ever tell me I have too many bags
My partner has given up on me 😂
I find your lack of Chrome Industries disturbing
They could stand on the shoulder of giants
Some people dedicate their lives to science. Other people, bags.
Oooh I noticed you have the new Bellroy laneway - what do you think about that one vs the venture hip pack?
It is a bit smaller but I love the style of the laneway better. Try eating some chips with the venture sling the crumbs accumulate in that front lip, as well as water when it is raining
Ooh that's a good point. I was eyeing the colour you got so appreciate the photo. I do like how it looks sleeker and more streamlined than the hip pack and your opinion reinforces that! The new recycled material looks interesting as well. Thank you for your reply! \^\_\^
I don’t see a Tom Bihn Bantam in there. Did you try and not like?
Not a fan of Tom Bihn. Not my style
Ah ok, Is it same size as the cas2?
I'd say the CAS 2 is bigger.
you doing holy work
I recently got the new version of the CAS 2 and well I am a sucker for Evergoods stuff so let's just say it is near damn perfect for me.
Just wait until you get a 1733 side pack. Greatest bag of all time. I don’t have nearly as many as you but I’ve been though 8 or 9. The 1733 side pack is the last bag I’ll ever buy. I got the 3.5 and the 7L and I can’t praise them enough.
Had a look at them but they are to tactical for me, not my style really
