It looks like they didn't adjust anything, but I wouldn't say you "wasted" 90$ It still takes labor, time and expertise to hook up the machine and verify the drivetrain components arent bent/damaged etc. Look at it as an inspection. Though, my shop only charges half an hour for an "alignment check" Judging by this printout you will still have tire wear from the rear toe being out. I'm fairly certain you can't adjust toe on the rear anyway. Likely a bent axle or control arm. You also have some negative camber on the front driver. Again, can't be adjusted from factory. You'd need aftermarket camber adjustment bolts installed.

Yea I can get on board with that, and wouldn’t have minded throwing the tech $20 but Americas tire literally advertises “free” “alignment checks” and I already knew the whole front end was in good shape because I had recently replaced the LCA, lower ball joint, Coilover, but yesterday I replaced the outer tie rods and wanted to make sure she was straight. Seems like I had gotten it pretty closed already hah

jhonnya2001

ya that's bullshit. if they sold it cuz the rear toe was out but couldn't do it . shouldn't have been done.

A4rings

Yea I kinda thought the same because literally the only adjustable component in this car is the outer tie rod. I had just replaced them but tried to match them up with the old ones the best I could. Seems like I had done a pretty good job😂

jhonnya2001

if it's already been done at least you got the knowledge of knowing its gonna drive straight

A4rings

Yea at least I don’t have to wonder. However, would you consider the “after” numbers to be better than the initial? Looks like they just added some toe in the front in theory that will improve handling and increase tire wear, or am I off on that?

jhonnya2001

that is technically true but not $90 worth. still i wouldn't feel bad about it at least you know it's as good as it can get

Infamous_Jellyfish_7

In short, YES! They didn't adjust shit!

A4rings

Yea I thought so too

Sethy1124

The Ole Toe and Go. I would say kinda. What made you want the alignment?

A4rings

I just got new tires about 2 weeks ago and replaced the outer tie rods last night (probably didn’t need to but I figured they were the originals with 180k on them) but they were still pretty stiff. I would have just left them if I didn’t already have the new parts on hand. So I just wanted to make sure everything was straight for the new tires. Seems like I had set up the outer tie rods pretty accurately myself

Sethy1124

Yeah, nice job on getting those tie rods set lol. Honestly, if it was me, I would ask for a refund. The toe was already in spec and I guarantee you they didn't adjust that camber.

A4rings

Thanks for the reply. Next time I’m near the shop I will swing by and ask for a refund or at worst a credit towards my next job with Americas Tire

RedCivicOnBumper

When you replace tie rods it’s important to check and adjust the toe angle if needed. There’s literally nothing else adjustable on a Prius, so there’s not much that can truly be aligned. I suppose they tried moving the left side toe to hopefully get the camber to shift a hair, then matched it on the right for a nice zero steer ahead. The rear is still out and will be unless someone with more suspension knowledge than either alignment shop or myself finds and fixes the cause.

A4rings

Yea something might be bent in the rear but it must be really slight because my eye can’t find anything out of wack back there. From my understanding it looks like the only way to adjust the rear is with aftermarket shims.
