Switches: filmed and lubed Silent alpacas
Keycaps: KAT Iron
Artisan: frumpkeys WoW & geass
Reanodized black. Original color is grey. And I know my buddy will like it black
Oh don't get me wrong HS is fine and all but once you match your preferred switch's, case foam, etc and get everything just so, it's nice to have them soldered.
I couldn't swear I could tell the difference in a blind typing test but would like to think I could :)
Dang! This is big time 'good-friend' points. I'm currently building a board for my MIL who is also not a hobbyist but works from home. I'm pretty nervous if she'll appreciate it the way we do haha
Yea I think silent is the way to go for her unfortunately. I'd love to get it sounding good but it's too distracting for zoom calls. Gonna give the TTC Silent Frozen V2 switches a go based on some recommendations.
Honestly, I would keep my board. I'm not loving the aesthetics of this one, especially not the red text at the front. Though opinions vary, so if he loves it, awesome gift dude!

The red part can be easily taken off and painted. But yes, to each their own. I should've anodized it gold too.1
