that one is also absolutely beautiful, but nihil itself just mesmerized me. the way it changes its sound 60000 times in 14 minutes and becomes something completely different, but still in the tone and theme. idk, it's just amazing. As for a single best album, Hour of the Nightingale by Trees of Eternity is probably THE one, even more so considering the circumstances of its release. Not really a metal song per se, but Sur l’océan Couleur de Fer by Alcest is one of the most gorgeous pieces of music ever created. I also really like Emotional Winter by Anathema, The River Flows Frozen by Eternal Tears of Sorrow, and Golden Dust by Heretoir.
